Angelica at the Yule Ball?
Name: Angelica Gracie Hammond
Hair: Blonde with brown streaks.
Eyes: Violet
House: Gryffindor
Year: 4
"Oh, my, god, ANGIE!!!!!" My friend Sierra yelled jumping on to my bed forcing me to go up and down. I knew that there was only one thing in the world that will cause the girl with a billion black braids in her hair to be jumping in excitement. Groggily I sat up and watched my crazy best friend. "GUESS WHO ASKED ME TO YULE BALL!!!!!!!!!" she yelled.
"Who asked you to Yule Ball?" I asked a little annoyed that my beauty sleep was interrupted. I stayed up all night these past few days dealing with love drama and the midterm exams. Sierra gave me a little pout because I wouldn't guess but at the moment I didn't really care. Even when I was a little girl the idea of going to the ball reeked with drama and stupidity. There is only one thing I have seen when dances come around. Heart break, and a lot of it, when a cute guy asks a shy nerd to the dance, always expect that there was something horrible planned.
"I said guess..." she whined. I rolled my eyes at the persistent fourteen year old.
"Fine, did you-know-who finally ask you out after trying to kill the chosen one?" I sarcastically guessed. She smacked me hard in the arm, leaving a big red mark.
"THAT'S HURTFUL!!" She complained.
"Well what do you expect? I have been up the past few nights letting girls cry on my shoulders because the boy they thought they loved sooo much didn't ask them out yet." I argued. Sierra lowered her head in defeat knowing that she was one of those dozens of girls that I let cry on my shoulder.
"Sorry Ang..." she whispered.
"You're fine..." I replied not wanting to take away to much of her happy moment. "Now, are you going to tell me who asked you to the ball?"
"Vincent Crabbe." she replied with a huge smile on her face. My eyes went wide with surprise but was quickly replaced with anger and slapped her upside the head, her smile disappearing. "Ow!! Bloody Hell Angelica."
"Why in the world would you say yes to that jack butt of a Slytherin!! What's wrong with you?? I was expecting it to be one of the Weasley twins but MALFOY'S BODY GUARD????????? You sicken me with your stupidity!" I half yelled half growled at the idiot in front of me.
"But... but I thought you'd be happy for me..." she whined.
"I would be happy if you chose a dumb-strang. I could have dealt with that but you chose a Slytherin." I scolded. She has no idea how much I want to disown her as a friend at the moment but the better friend side of me said otherwise.
"Well... uh... if you don't like the news of who I chose for my date, you will certainly hate who I had to set you up with..." She whispered nervously scratching the back of her head.
"You set me up with someone? After I specifically told you and all the other girls who asked, that I wasn't going to the damned dance??"
"Sorry Angelica, I knew this would make you mad but it was the only way I could get to the dance with a date." she continued.
"Who did you set me up with?" I sighed, hoping it wasn't that bad, I would be just fine if it was one of the Durmstrang idiots. Sierra bit her lip and whispered in my ear. "YOU SET ME UP WITH WHO?????"

I stood at the bottom of the stairs adjusting my lacy white gloves. I can't believe I am forced to go to this. I looked over at the mirror by the fireplace. I wore a dark blue dress, that was opened back, and shimmered purple as I walked and a short train flowing behind me. My golden blonde hair was elegantly curled landing on my shoulders as my brown streaks were pulled to the back of my head into a small braid. I wasn't used to looking pretty. When I wasn't in my robes I would wear a sweatshirt and sweatpants around the school trying to keep the boys from looking at me. Looking at myself now I knew that there was no way to avoid the drooling stares.
"Eep!! The only thing missing is a tiara!" Sierra squealed. I gave her one of my dangerous glares. I was obviously still unhappy that she forced me to go with Gregory Goyle. I am aware that it was to be expected seeing that he is Crabbe's best friend, but I still could not help bring annoyed.
"I am not liking you right now." I growled at her.
"Oh come on Angie, stop being mad at me... Anger makes your pretty face look like it belongs to a troll." she whined. I counted to three in my head putting on a fake smile.
"Is that better Sia?" I asked trying to lose my annoyance.
"That'll do for now." She said. "Come along we can't have our dates waiting too long." She looped her arm through mine and pulled me along. Oh someone please let another troll in the dungeon.

We walked down the staircase that led straight to the main hall and as I expected eyes were on me. Well actually I was praying they were on Sierra since she indeed looked gorgeous tonight, (She had her hair out of the millions of braids and had her hair oiled and frizz free so she could let her long hair fall loosely down to her lower back. She wore a very glamorous black dress that had white crystal beads embroidered looking like stars falling.) but no, Sierra had to constantly point out that they were throwing their attention on me.
"Ooh, there they are." Sierra squealed again. Wearing absolutely all black, our dates stood at the bottom of the stairs. Admittedly Goyle was the cuter one if I had to choose between the two. I guess I got lucky. As we reached them Greggory offered his hand.
"May I escort you, my lady?" he asked. Although sounding sincere I couldn't help but fear that he was up to something. I gave him a shy smile and laid my hand in his.
"Not bad you two," I overheard an awfully familiar voice say behind us. I did my best to keep my growl in as I witnessed Malfoy coming down the stairs with no one better than his lovely girlfriend Pansy. "I would've thought you two would have chose some worthless Hufflepuff, but seeing you two with gorgeous Gryffindor pure bloods, I can't help but feel proud." He continued. I couldn't help but feel conflicted. I couldn't decide whether to feel offended by Malfoy's comments towards his 'men' or to feel complimented that he thought Sierra and I were gorgeous. I shook myself out of it. C'mon Angelica, pull yourself together, he's an ass-wipe don't fall for his false truths.
"Thank you Draco." Crabbe said. Goyle kept silent but smiled. Something didn't feel right between the two of them and I am sure Sierra sensed it too. Draco left, with his slut of a girlfriend latching to him like a leech.
"Follow me please." Greggory smiled leading me into the Great Hall.

It's been a few hours since the dance started, I danced with Gregg a few times, it would be rude not to, despite my feelings towards this whole thing. Goyle wasn't actually that bad of a guy once you actually listened to what he had to say. Sure I still question his motives but it all seemed that he wasn't planning anything that would prove me right.
"Hey I just want to thank you for coming with me." He said smiling as we danced to a slow song. "I know that it was wrong to have your friend black mail you but I didn't know what else to do. I'm not incredibly great with girls."
"No problem, I guess, to be honest I wasn't too enthusiastic about going to the Yule Ball." I admitted. He frowned at my words.
"May I ask why?" He asked me. I bit my lip. What should I tell him? He looked down at me with a look of disappointment, but not at me but at himself.
"I normally don't go to dances, let alone fall for guys who willingly puts up with shit that they know is wrong. It doesn't seem fair that Malfoy gets throw insults at everybody including you." I replied. When he didn't answer I just looked up at him with a curious look. "Why do you follow Malfoy? You seem to be capable of taking care of yourself."
"I guess it's because of his family. The Malfoy's are more powerful than my family which is why we get away with so much." He confesses.
"Well I think you need to be your own leader not his follower." I said boldly. He smiled at me.
"You're right." He said leaning in and closing his eyes.
"Wait what are you doing?" I asked him putting my hand against his chest. He stopped and realized what he was happening.
"Oh, sorry, c'mon let's have a seat."

We have been sitting for hours, just talking and having fun. It was actually really nice. I was in the middle of telling a story about how Sierra and I actually were excited about the troll our first year, when a familiar voice cleared his throat.
"Goyle let's go." Draco said looking down at us. Crabbe stood beside him with a smirk and his arms crossed without Sierra. Greg and I looked at each other in question.
"And whatever for Draco?" He asked.
"Yeah and Crabbe where's Sierra?" I questioned.
"Don't be an idiot Greg, you know why, and it's really none of your business Angelica. Obviously if your friend wanted to be near you she would have been by now." He sneered. I felt my blood boil.
"Gregg what's going on?" I growled standing up. I knew this night was to good to be true.
"Angelica, trust me I don't know." He said concerned. He looked up at Malfoy. "I am not leaving her by herself tonight Draco. I want her to have a fun night, I refuse to ruin it by leaving her alone."
"Excuse me! Goyle you will follow me now!" Malfoy demanded.
"Or what?" Gregg challenged. "Your father doesn't scare me." Draco smiled and said something I couldn't understand. And that's when it happened. Goyle stood up punched Draco square in the nose causing me to jump and Crabbe to squeal like a pig. Malfoy landed on his back with blood going down his nose.
"10 points from Slytherin." One of professors called out. I looked over at my date in shock. He didn't.
