James walked into the Marauders dormitory."Gentleman."

''Uhh prongs, i don't have time for this'' Remus furrowed his brow as he looked back at his notes.''No moony! i think something happened...something about lilly...i know that look anywhere!'' Sirius smirked and leaned back in his chair as Remus rolled his eyes

"It happened. Evans and I are officially going to Hogsmeade!" James squealed. "Did you really?" Peter asked in disbelief.'

'yes! AND i have proof!... see this on my cheek?'' james smugly sauntered over to the couch were the three were sitting and tapped his cheek showing a faint lipstick stain.''it's bright red lipstick there's no way you can't see it!'' james smirked '' first of all that could be any girl's lipstick and second of all...did you know that the imperius curse is a forbidden curse!?'' Remus sighed...James had tried this before ''no no! it was her free will even ask her!'' James screeched '' fine i will'' Remus smirked smugly snapping his book shut...

Remus walks over to Lily and sits next to her. "Did James kiss you or did you kiss him?" He asked.

''Oh Merlin, I knew he would tell every living soul who would listen...to answer your question, yes it happened, I kissed him and I am now going with him to Hogsmeade.And no, he didn't put me under an imperious curse...he, he just did something that would change my mind about him...'' Lilly stuttered.

"And what may that be, Lily? Please don't tell me he's changed Because he's just the Same James Potter to me," Remus explained.

''haha Remus...no...nothing like that, he apologised to Severus, and he didn't do it just because I told him to, he did it by himself...which is why I forgave him ...I think he is the most handsome, kind and caring guy I have ever met and it honestly hurt me to ignore him if it was only for one thing...but Severus was hurt and I don't date bullies and it takes a real man to apologise. I realised that he really did love me when he would even apologise to his mortal enemy to win my heart '' Lilly smiled and glanced behind Remus only to see...

...Severus standing behind Remus. He was standing there with a rose in his hand and a letter for Lily. His smile ebbed away as she professed her love for James. When she had finished speaking, she realised what had happened. Severus dropped the Rose, stamped on it and ripped his card for Lily in two."Sev, please..." Lily pleaded."Forget it Evans, it's over," Severus said then walked out of the Great Hall sadly.

''Wait! Sev!! I had no idea!''Lilly tried to run after him but he was much faster, weaving in and out the crowd.He had tears streaming down his face as he turned a corner he smashed into the one and only James. Severus was on the floor stunned for a moment as he tried to comprehend the situation ''oh my merlin! I'm so sorry! here let me help you up.'' James smiled as he offered his hand

Severus batted James' hand away and stood up on his own. He gave James a look of pure disgust and ran back to the Slytherin common room. He could hear Lily running after him but he didn't turn back. He never would. From now on, him and Lily weren't friends or acquaintances. She was a stranger to him, however much that stung his heart.

Lilly finally caught up with him and saw the scene unfold before her eyes, she saw the look of pure disgust etched into his features as he slapped James' hand away. At that moment, she realised Severus hadn't forgiven James and now wouldn't forgive her. Tears welled up in her eyes as she realised that she had just lost her childhood friend...if only he had confessed sooner...

He ran into the Slytherin common room and thumped his fists against the walls. Why did Lily have to like a fool like Potter? He had loved her for years yet she hadn't noticed whereas James loved her for two seconds. Why couldn't Lily see that he truly loved her. He knelt in front of the fireplace, put his face in his hands and sobbed. His childhood friend was gone forever.

''Lilly...I didn't-I thought...he-'' James stumbled over his words trying to explain what had just happened ''I-I know!'' she cried out tears running down her face one after the other until a waterfall poured down her face and now into her hands. Jame's eyes widened as he rushed over to Lilly embracing her shaking form and stroking her soft ginger hair ''shh shh it's okay...what do you want me do? I'll do anything for you, my angel'' he whispered into her hair ''you c-can't f-fix this one James...''.

"Oi, Severus! What's wrong? Why are you crying like a girl?" Lucius asked next to Alecto Carrow."Nothing Malfoy, leave me be..." He muttered.Lucius looked over at Alecto and shrugged. They both left their friend crying by the fireplace.

'' I think i can.'' James whispered as he took Lilly's hand and sighed...he knew he had to do the right thing.

They arrived just outside the Slytherin common room and knocked at the door ''James...I don't think he wants to talk to you right now...''

''Lilly. I love you with all my heart, and I want you to be happy no matter how much it hurts me...i love you too much to be able to ignore your frown .''

James knocked on the Slytherin common room door and it opened with a creak revealing Severus who had red puffy eyes and a sad expression when he saw Lilly. His gaze turned to James and his face screwed up in anger ''Severus I just-'' ''NO! Potter! I won't hear it!... it get it! she loves you, she doesn't love me. You loved her for two seconds! randomly picking her from all the girls that fall at your feet...I CAN NEVER FORGIVE YOU!!!! SECTUMSEMPRA!!'' Severus screamed as a white flash erupted from his wand, sending James flying.''NOOO!!'' Lilly screamed as she rushed over to James. '' you idiot Severus!! he just wanted to say that if I meant that much to you he wouldn't mind if I dated you! as long as it made me happy!'' Snape's features softened as fresh tears poured down his cheeks.

''Lilly...i-i love y-you...'' James managed to choke out before his hand dropped from her face and his pulse quickly became slow ''JAMES!!!'' Lilly screamed as his eyes closed, not caring that she was drenched in his blood.''i-i I'm sorry!'' sobbed Severus as he dropped to his knees next to James and started to recite a healing spell.

''I thought no one could love you as much as I do...I guess I was wrong. You are perfect together Lilly'' Snape said as James slowly sat up.

''James...just, don't break her heart. Okay?'' he gave a soft smile as he turned and walked back into to the common room.

James turned his head to Lilly and carefully took her hand in his before slipping his other around her waist and pulling her down to him so she was inches away. '' I wouldn't dream of it'' he smirked as he leaned in for a kiss while Lilly ran her free hand through his messy brown locks.
