The first years were led to their lessons, soon they split off into two groups Draco, Blaise, Sumire and Theo were in the same group. soon some Hufflepuff and Ravenclaws joined them, with one or two Gryffindors. Sumire felt someone bump into her she looked to see a Hufflepuff boy he said "sorry" Sumire said "it's ok, are you ok?" he nodded and said "yes I'm Nevil, Nevil Longbottom" "Sumire, Sumire Snape nice to meet you Nevil" he nodded. they came to the transfiguration classroom, the prefects left not before telling their houses first years someone would come to get them after class was done.

The students started to talk as they waited for the door to open, it soon as they went in "is it sit anywhere?" Draco said, they looked around Nevil said "I think it is?" the students went to find a seat, sitting with their friends. no one seemed to notice the very fluffy black rabbit on the teacher's desk. a few other Gryffindors came in and soon it was time for class to begin, but three students were missing. Draco looked at his watch "doesn't class start at 8?" Sumire cast tempus and said "it's about five past, but yeah classes start at 9" this got everyone whispering about it why hadn't class started, and also where was the teacher. it was then the door opened they all looked to see Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Dudley Dursley come in. then the rabbit on the desk jump off and change into professor riddle, who was not looking happy and said "late to the first day of classes, the reason boys?"

"We got lost," Ron said, tom looked at them "I see, yet your housemates and year mates got here on time, with or without help, now if this should happen again, I will take points, as it's the first day I will not now if this is a recurring event, I will transfigure one of you three into a map, and another into a pocket watch so you won't get lost or be late, go sit down" this caused the class to giggle. the boys sat down Harry muttered under his breath about tom being a slimy snake. "Care to repeat aloud Mr Potter?" "No professor" he glared at tom, who nodded and went to the front he stood in front of his desk. "Now transfiguration is a subject that can if performed wrongly can be dangerous, but if done correctly can mean you don't need to purchase many things, before we start anything in class, we will be finding your core colour, now can anyone tell me what I mean?"

He looked a few raised their hands but one Gryffindor girl was raising it as high as she could. "Alright you miss Snape" he pointed to Sumire, the Gryffindor girl huffed and pouted "a core colour means the magic we find easiest to perform" tom nodded "yes, now most spells are grey, meaning anyone no matter the core colour, light, dark or grey can perform them, but specific ones like say the Patronus which is a light spell is different" "how is it professor?" a Ravenclaw boy asked "well, it means someone who has a light core will grasp it quicker and easier, than a person who has a dark core, but it does not mean it is impossible just that it might take longer" "what's your core professor?" Nevil asked. "Well Mr Longbottom, I have a dark core I find spells relating to dark a lot easier, but I can also perform light spells like the Patronus charm"

This amazed a lot of people "what's the difference between a light and dark family?" a Hufflepuff girl asked. tom said "to put it simply it has nothing to do with the core of your magic, but how you use magic let's take the black family as an example, they have a lot of witches and wizards who have dark magic cores so dark magic is easier to them, but they don't use the magic for dark or evil purposes but for good so they are called a light family, now let's take the Silverling family" this caused a few to gasp. they knew about that family they had been a big supporter of you know who, tom didn't use the potters as an example since he knew Harry was not his parents. "Yes, now they are a family who has mostly light cores and finds the spells associated with light magic easy, but they sadly used the spells for evil, and bad things now let's take another family the Weasley family"

"What about my family?" Ron said "well Mr Weasley, your family is a known grey family, meaning in the past they have had members who have done bad things, but also members who have done a lot of good but in recent years they are what's called a neutral family, they don't take sides they stay out of things so they are not good, and they are not evil and quite a few members from the Weasley family have grey cores, now that I have explained everything we will start the lesson, read the first chapter in your book how to turn a matchstick into a needle when you have read it and feel confident to perform it let me know you can practice the wand movements to" he left them to it.

"I wonder how we'll find out our core colours?" Draco said "maybe when we turn the matchstick into a needle, he said to let him know" Sumire pointed out he nodded and knew she had to be right. he glanced and said "hey Blaise, that girl from the boats and feast is glaring at Sumire" Balise looked and said "oh yeah, the know it all I think she hated how Sumire was picked to answer and she didn't get a chance to show off, oh well" the class read and practised tom went around. helping people if the wand movement was off, he reminded them that this subject they could not mess around in at all. soon Sumire raised her hand he went over "yes miss Snape?" "I feel ready to try professor" tom nodded and got a matchstick and put it on her desk. "Now do the wand movement you were practising before and visualise the matchstick becoming a needle"

She nodded and did as he said the matchstick turned into a needle, it didn't have a big eye but it was a needle top picked it up and inspected it and said "well done, for a first try miss Snape and it seems your core is dark but a borderline grey, so some dark spells will come to you like a duck to water but some you might find hard, like some witches and wizards with grey cores" she nodded after that others tried soon Harry was doing it. "Well Mr potter you have a light core" Harry's needle was a very shiny gold colour, Sumire's had been black gold with a slight silver light to it "of course, all my family have a light magic core" "merlin could anyone sound more cocky?" Blaise said. the students around him nodded "are you going to try Draco, Nevil?" Sumire asked. Nevil nodded "I think I'll wait a little bit; I want to practice the wand movement I feel like I mess some of it up" they nodded.

Nevil did his and he had a light, but borderline grey he didn't mind his mother was grey so he knew it was from her, Theo's had been black with a tiny bit of silver. Balises was pure black soon Draco did his it was a dark silver. tom picked it up "well Mr Malfoy, you are grey but borderline dark so, like miss Snape, some dark spells you will find easier to perform than others but" Draco nodded taking the needle. soon the first class of the day was over "I won't assign homework until next week, but I do expect you to read up on transfiguration if you read ahead that is fine, but you do not do any spells outside of class yet and you can go" everyone got their things and went to the next class.

Ok in my universe of Harry potter cores don't reflect if good or evil it's the deeds done with the magic so anyone can do a patornus just if they do magic with evil intentions they can't so this worlds McGonagall couldn't but this worlds tom can

I also needed to find a animal for toms animagus so my friend who owns sumire suggested a fluffy rabbit if it was a snake it would be to obvious
