The group of 3 made their way to Olivander's "Draco after this well meet up with your uncle to get some lunch, and after looking around a little more" Bellatrix told her nephew. Draco nodded and said "that's fine, I'm starting to get hungry," Hagrid said "I've gotta see to something so I'll see ya both at the pub for lunch" Bellatrix nodded they went into the wand shop it was just them. "Hello!" Bellatrix called out, Olivander appeared from out of nowhere "ah Mr Malfoy! I was wondering when you'd come for your wand I remember every single wand, I've sold your mothers and father your fathers was an 18-inch elm wood and dragon heart string wand, now onto you hold your wand hand out" Draco was slightly confused. "The hand you use most Draco," Bellatrix told him, which he nodded holding his right hand out.

Once the arm was measured Olivander went into the back to find some wands for Draco to try. "How long does this take?" Draco looked at his aunt "well it depends, some right away others are a while but don't worry" Draco nodded. soon Olivander came over and gave Draco a wand to try "give it a wave" he told Draco. who did and it caused some glass to smash Draco jumped and put it down right away. "No, no, not that one" Olivander talked to himself and put it back in its place, Draco looked he couldn't see the end to the back of where Olivander had gone, but he couldn't imagine the amount of wands were there. did Olivander expect him to try them all?

"don't worry you won't have to try them all, there's thousands if not millions there," Bellatrix told him Draco paled a little, imagining having to try all of them he hoped it wouldn't come to that. he tried a few more wands a few accidents but nothing that seemed to fit "we can come back if you want?" Bellatrix said Olivander seemed in thought "no, no I have one that might, I'll be back in a moment there has never been a witch or wizard we have not found a wand for" he went to the back and a few moments later came back with a wand. he put it on the counter Draco picked it up and waved it green sparks came out the end "excellent! we have found a match" Olivander exclaimed glad to have matched Draco with a wand. Bellatrix paid for it "be very careful with that wand Mr Malfoy" Draco looked at him "why?" he asked "well the Phoenix who's feather was used for that wand core, gave two feathers that day which is rare its brother gave you the scar you are famous for, the witch who owns it did great things, terrible things but great still I hope you do great things yourself with your wand"

Draco subconsciously touched his scar. he nodded and said "I will, I plan to not be like her" Olivander smiled and let them go. after they left Hagrid came walking over and said "Draco Bellatrix!" they looked "did ya get ya wand?" he asked Draco said "yes, it took a bit of time since the wands didn't want me," Hagrid said "that's good, oh here I got ya a birthday present it's not much" he showed him a cage with an eagle owl, Draco couldn't believe what Hagrid had gotten him he took the cage "thank you Hagrid, you didn't need to get me anything but thank you," he told the half-giant. he hadn't expected a present from him but was grateful for it he stroked the owl's chest the owl gently nipped his fingers.

"Well, that saves us one job of getting you an animal to take to Hogwarts, now let's meet up with your uncle I'm sure he's gotten you your books and potion kit" Draco nodded thinking of a name for his new owl. they were soon in the pub Rabastan was sat at a table in the back waiting for them the three went over to him "so got your robes and wand?" he asked Draco who nodded "yes, the wand took a while since the ones I did try didn't like me" Rabastan chuckled and said "it takes a while, now after lunch well get you an owl or something to take to Hogwarts, then look at other things" "actually Hagrid got him an owl, so it's the trunk and other things" Bellatrix told him. Rabastan nodded and thanked Hagrid the group sat down and had something to eat.

As they ate Draco decided to bring up what Hagrid said "Hagrid what did you mean before, when I said about that boy, I met in madam Minkins being in a dark family?" Draco asked Rabastan said "what dark family?" "Draco met James potters' son in the robe shop," Hagrid told him. "Draco stay away from the potters as much as humanly possible, they are a dark family meaning that they do dark and bad things, you know dark magic is different from a dark family right" Draco nodded "yes, you and uncle Rodo told me dark magic comes from the ease of performing spells seen as dark, like light magic is easier for light spells and grey is a bit of both" Bellatrix said "yes, if a family is labelled as light or dark it's down to the actions, the Malfoy and blacks usually find dark magic spells easier, but we are seen as light because we do not do things that are evil, whereas the potters find it easier to perform light magic but are seen as dark as they use their magic, most times because they do evil things with their magic than good," Hagrid said "exactly, that its why the headmaster has everyone tested on their core," Draco said, "oh that's what we find out our magic side light grey or dark?"

The adults nodded, Rabastan said "that happens in the first lessons you have that use magic, they want to make it easier for students to be in tune with their magic and use it to its fullest" "so if I'm like mother and father, more dark magic in lessons like charms and defence ill learn more dark spells?" they nodded. "But what about say the Patronus, since it's a light spell?" Bellatrix chuckled "well, I can use it but it's just alot harder to do for a witch or wizard, whose core is dark but not impossible but you'll learn that in your 3rd year" Draco nodded. he'd just been curious about if a witch or wizard whose magic core was dark could perform it or not.

After lunch they went to look at things like trunks and other shops, Bellatrix did treat Draco to some quidditch things, even if he couldn't have a broom, he could still have things related to it. soon they stopped for ice cream, the shop wasn't crowded so they could enjoy it in peace "have you picked a name for your owl?" Rabastan asked Draco. he nodded and said "yes solar" "a good name for them" after the ice cream they went to the trunk shop. which took a while to decide on something there were too many options, but in the end, a trunk that had a voice-activated lock and one Draco could go inside, that had rooms for things like a wardrobe school supplies and such. "You sure about this?" Rabastan asked his nephew. Draco nodded "yes it's not that I don't trust who I'll have as room-mates in Hogwarts, but I would rather have my things safe and protected from since I don't know if they will steal," Bellatrix said "that is true Draco, also if you're getting us presents you can use it at home to hide them since we can't get in, but set an emergency password in case someone else needs to go in to get something for you or we do" he nodded.

The worker said "this order will take a few days to get everything right, so we will owl it to your address ready for at least a week before September 1st so you can pack" Bellatrix said "please, also the initials D.L.M on please" they nodded writing everything down and had them check it over, to make sure it was correct. once it was Rabastan paid for it since it was a gift from all 3. there was one last stop which was a pet shop "a pet shop?" Draco was confused, he looked at his uncle asking Rabastan said "I know you have an owl, but this one is from me and your uncle, it's a tradition for Lestrange kids when there 11 they get a pet of their choice, so go and pick it any you want" Draco walked in so many different animals. from puffskins, nifflers, snakes, owls, crups, knarls and so many. Draco walked around looking at everything he didn't know what to pick.

Hagrid had gone off now since they'd basically finished, the pet shop was empty apart from Draco "hello do you need some help?" a young girl working at the shop asked. she was clearly a Hogwarts student about 15 Draco said "um sure, I guess I want to get a pet?" the girl nodded "I see so any particular kind?" he rubbed the back of his neck. "I don't know, my uncle said I can get one as a birthday present" "well happy birthday, and well it comes down to what kind, as in furry, scaly, feathery? puffskins are super easy, and even eat your bogies at night" Draco made a gross face "that's not true?" he asked with a raised eyebrow "oh it most defiantly is, they also eat little bugs" she told him. they squeaked at him he said "I don't think I can ever look at one the same after knowing that, but something I can easily take care of, but also that won't look out of place in the muggle world" "oh muggle-born or raised?" she asked.

Draco shook his head "no, I live there but I'm moving back to the wizarding world now but I have muggle friends, I'll likely see in the summer so I want to show them without saying what I am" she nodded understanding. "I see well we have none magical ones, if you had a crup we need to get rid of its tails since if around muggles they can't have their two tails, there's also a knarl which is a magical hedgehog" Draco was a maybe about them. he walked with the girl who said her name was Ice and a Hufflepuff, soon Draco ended up by the ferrets he pets some and one wouldn't let go of his arm, and every time Ice took the ferret back it jumped to Draco. "Ok that's a first seems the little guy wants you" Draco scratched their head, and they made happy sounds. "I guess so" Ice laughed and said "let's go sort this one out, and as it's your birthday I'll throw some things in for free" "really thank you!" they went to get the price sorted Rabastan paid for it. "So, what's their name?" Bellatrix asked "Cosmo," Draco told her. Bellatrix smiled soon the three went home, it wouldn't be long until the start of school and Draco would catch the train to Hogwarts.
