Hadrian didn't know what to expect from Sirius and his reaction. So, he avoided the man until he was given his trial that he rightly deserved.
Which was two weeks after Hadrian had killed Voldemort. He had been hiding in a hotel that was neither good nor bad, yet most of the time kept their clientele a secret.
Because of the secrecy, Hadrian was surprised when his godfather and his previous DADA professor ended up knocking on his room sometime around midnight.
Hadrian had hoped to stay hiding for a bit more so questions wouldn't be thrown at him, but it seemed luck still hated him, for he had the 'deer-in-headlight' look as soon as he had opened the door.
That being said, after Hadrian had opened the door, and the two parties staring at one another for a bit, before suddenly Sirius was sweeping into the room and bear-hugging his godson while Hadrian didn't know what to do.
For the only hugs he ever received were from Mrs.Weasley and this was felt more 'I found you and I'm not letting you go' sort of hug that Hadrian had no idea what to do about. Should he wrap his arms around Sirius? Should he push Sirius away?
But before his mind could make a decision, his arms were already wrapped around Sirius and he was burying his face in Sirius neck and was relaxing his tense muscles that had previously become tense two weeks ago.
Hadrian wasn't even aware of Remus until the professor also stepped into the room and wrapped the duo into a hug as well, making it a trio.
It wasn't until Remus started to pull away after what seemed like a hour that Hadrian realized he was crying slightly, he noted that they certainly weren't tears of sadness, but more along the lines of happiness and embarrassment.
"I'm sorry," Hadrian whispered out as his human part of his soul kept the one that was mostly death magic just slightly held back, so it was more dominant right this moment.
"I was so worried pup," Sirius muttered into Hadrian's hair as he didn't bother to remove himself from the hug, and Hadrian couldn't find it in him to push his godfather away from him soon after he just got him back.
Remus cleared his throat a little, and Hadrian noticed that even he seemed slightly emotional like he had also been worried sick the past two weeks.
"Perhaps, we should all discuss what has been happening for the past few weeks. Including what Hadrian might be reluctant to tell us?" Remus asked, his voice heavy with emotions that Hadrian couldn't really identify.
But as soon as Hadrian mentioned what he didn't want to tell them, he tried to pull away from Sirius and perhaps run off somehow, somewhere, but all Sirius did was hold Hadrian tighter and closer to him.
"We don't care what the news is, pup. You're our family, you could be a vampire, a druggie, knocked some witch up. But we don't care, pup. No matter what it is, I--we--will always love you, because you are you no matter what and we are a family," Sirius said firmly but with love shining in his voice.
Hadrian tried to discreetly hide his tears by putting his face back in Sirius shoulder, but his shoulders were slightly shaking and he was clenching Sirius' jacket more than before.
Remus joined once more before it seemed like hours passed before all three seemed to agree upon sitting down and talking.
And did Hadrian talk. He talked about the Dursleys abuse, how he didn't really care that they died (even admitted that it felt slightly good that they died) and then his reaction to Hogwarts and finding out he was a wizard (they all laughed at Hagrid knocking off the door).
How Hedwig was his first real friend, finding Ron on the train, the troll in the girls bathroom to finding friendship in Hermione.
Secretly befriending Neville when Ron and Hermione became just a bit too much for Hadrian and how Neville helped him in History of Magic (more than Hermione), Astronomy, and slightly in Herbology, and Hadrian in return helping in Flying, DADA, Potions (which he admitted he was actually kinda good at as it reminded him of cooking just more important steps and instructions).
Then there was second year with Neville being one of the few believing Hadrian wasn't the heir or trying to tell the snake to hurt Justin and about the voices that Hadrian was hearing before the petrifying of the students.
Third year had Neville spending his time with Hadrian when he sometimes ditched Hermione and Ron who always tried to be glued to him. But he didn't always speak, as he knew Hadrian sometimes just wanted silence.
It was how their sessions of just hanging out at the Greenhouse started, it was a quiet place where both Hadrian and Neville could hang out rather than the library which only sometimes worked as Hermione was constantly going in and out of it.
But Ron and Hermione never checked the Greenhouse, never thinking that Hadrian may have a green thumb.
As he talked, Hadrian realized that while Hermione and Ron were always slightly seeing Hadrian in a good/bad way, Neville always constantly believed Hadrian.
And it wasn't until how he described getting the Headmaster's wand that he told them about his new powers.
It was tense, for Hadrian at least. But Remus and Sirius seemed to take it in stride, even as Hadrian talked about his chat with the real Death and than his Reaper bodyguards that were suspiciously not there at the moment.
After he was done, Remus seemed to take up talking. He talked about getting bitten, getting through with the curse. Finding hope in Hogwarts as he never expected to be able to control his magic and was just waiting for it to control him instead.
How he met Sirius and James on the train. That they were already friend due to being cousins on James' mother side of the family with Dorea Black.
That they met Peter in their dorm as it was only those four boys in their dorm. Their pranks that while slightly biased toward Slytherin, mostly affected the whole school and made people constantly laugh and couldn't wait for the next one. How James, Sirius, and Peter found out about Remus being a werewolf and then learning to be an animagus for him. Their making of the Hogwarts map, and finally how James constantly tried to get Lily's attention and affections until their sixth year.
Sirius took it from there, and explained his own abusive home life, his close relationship with his brother until Hogwarts and being sorted into Gryffindor. How his mother wouldn't allow him to return over the summers which had him spending the summers with James and becoming brothers in all but paternal blood.
How they three constantly met over the summer with the occasional Peter visiting, then how they found out about Remus' 'furry little problem' and how obvious it was. Until Remus pointed out that they found out in the middle of second year and weren't very tactful at telling him they knew.
They just talked, and talked and Hadrian never felt lighter. Because when Sirius was done, they talked about plans for the summer.
How Sirius still wanted Hadrian to live with him even if he didn't want to return to Hogwarts, even said that he didn't really care and that other schools were probably slightly better than Hogwarts anyway, especially in history and DADA teachings.
And so, they made a plan to try living together, Hadrian being asked if Remus was okay with living with him and Sirius, which Hadrian replied with an affronted look and commented, "He better if I even want to keep the sanity I have. I've just heard about your pranks, I want to live for a while."
Which was then pointed out to him by Sirius dryly commenting, "You're immortal, Hadrian. I can prank you for all I want and you won't die."
The comment made Hadrian realize that his two uncles in all but blood, were going to die far before he was even going it, and that slightly broke his heart.
Just as the thought passed his mind, a feeling of calmness was directed toward him from the Death part of his soul and he let it become equally balanced with his human side for a second.
"It will be alright, Master. They will live until they don't wish to. And I can tell you now, they won't wish to for a long time and when they do, you would've talked it over and come to agreement. Until that time, they are immortal, just don't have them go asking for Death in foolish Gryffindor ways. Remind them that you are also immortal and cannot be killed please. I don't wish to mess with balance more than I have to."
As Hadrian received Death's mental note, he was also speaking it out-loud to both his shocked uncles.
It wasn't until he was done that he was swept into another hug by his godfather and his uncle that Hadrian truly felt a peace with the decision of accepting his new title and friendship with Death.
