Chapter 3

Please let me know if there is any grammar or spelling error.

The first thing that Ed and his friends did when they got to their destination was to empty their stomach of its contents. It was even more excruciating for Al since his body was not used to all the sensations yet. He leaned heavily on his cane that helped him keep his balance.

"It gets some taking used to" said Dumbledore.

"No joke! What the hell was that?"

"That was a portkey. It is a magical object enchanted to instantly bring anyone touching it to a specific location. You will learn all about it in your studies."

It was then that Ed noticed his surroundings. All around him were stores that you wouldn't find in an ordinary place. There were places to buy potions ingredients, spell books and other wizarding books, magical animals and owls, wizarding clothes, and many other places.

There was also a huge bank in the distance. Ed looked down at the ground and saw that it was cobblestone. Everywhere he looked he could see things that could not be explained rationally.

It was all very magical.

Ed absolutely hated it.

"What is this place?" Winry asked in wonder.

Dumbledore had an amused smile on his face. It has been very long since he has come here and to see young ones awestruck expression was always a joy for him.

"Diagon Alley"

"Diagonally? What's diagonally? Everything looks pretty straight here."

"Diagon Alley is the name of this place. It is a shopping area located in London . All items on the Hogwarts supply list can be bought at here."

"Great, even the places have cuckoo names"

"Ed!"

They continue on through the shopping alley, Al and Winry looking at everything that caught his eye while Ed continue to sulk. He looked up and saw a snow-white, marble building up ahead.

"First, we must go to Gringotts, that's the wizarding bank, to get your money converted to our money," instructed Dumbledore "then we can get everything you will need for your studies."

Ed didn't say anything else. The trio and Dumbledore went on their way to Gringotts. It only took a few moments considering the amount of people that were there. When they got up the set of white stairs leading up to a set of burnished bronze doors the Elric brothers froze. There guarding the doors was a chimera with bald head, pointed nose, and pointed ears.

"Brother is that-"

"I think so Al, but we don't know unless we ask" Ed interrupted before Al could continue the thought. The creature did look like a chimera but no one seemed bothered by it. If Ed was the same as a few years ago he would have been demanding answers from the headmaster but he know nothing about the wizarding world so he couldn't be sure.

"What are they?" asked Winry.

"They are Goblins," said Dumbledore. "They're very smart, but they're not to be fully trusted."

They continue on into a small entrance hall and another set of silver doors. Engraved on those doors were the words:

Enter, stranger, but take heed
Of what awaits the sin of greed,
For those who take, but do not earn,
Must pay most dearly in their turn,
So if you seek beneath our floors
A treasure that was never yours,
Thief, you have been warned, beware
Of finding more than treasure there.

"Spooky" Ed remarked.

"Those words are not to be taken lightly. Goblins are very possessive of their gold and anyone who wished to steal from them will have a very painful death indeed"

'Can't be anything worst than what we went through.' Was the thought that went through his head. Ed was half convinced that he should rob from this bank just to show he can.

They walked to the closest counter where a goblin was looking through some paper work. "We'd like to withdraw some money from the Hohenheim's vault." Dumbledore said pleasantly to the goblin while Ed looked up sharply.

"He had a vault?!"

"Well he didn't wish for one but his friend convinced him otherwise. There were many valuable accounts that he collected during his prime years."

His whole life was his prime years. Ed thought nastily. It wasn't that he was annoyed at the fact that his father had to have a vault in wizarding world, but rather the fact that he never even knew about it that Ed was irritated about. There were many things that Ed and Al didn't know about his father but they had thought that they at least knew more than most people. But now he sees how a man who wasn't even from Amestris knew more about Hohenheim was a thought that no matter what pained him a little bit.

He looked up to the goblin to see him holding out a hand.

"Please stick out your hand Mr. Hohenheim."

"It's Elric, not Hohenheim" It doesn't matter if he forgive his father or not, he wasn't giving up his mother's name.

The goblin rose an eyebrow expletively and Ed held out his right hand warily. The goblin took a knife out and before Ed could react cut a wound into his finger. He winced as his blood was put into a small sheet to look at. His right hand was still sensitive from the gate and would take a long time to recover.

"You too mister" Al also slowly showed his hand and slightly gasped when the knife cut his skin. He was more sensitive than his brother but he was also happy every time he could feel something.

The goblin looked at both blood samples carefully and then addressed his clients. "Seems you both are Mr. Hohenheim's sons. Would you like to change your vault's name to Elric"

Ed and Al looked at each other and came to a decision. It was their father's belongings no matter what so the name doesn't need to change.

"Very well, follow me."

They walked towards one of the doors leading off the hall. Behind the doors was a narrow pathway lit with flaming torches. It sloped steeply downwards and there were little railway tracks on the floor. The goblin gave a shrill whistle and a small cart came for them to get on.

As they sped down the tracks Winry grew progressively greener, while Alphonse began to feel rather ill but both his and Ed's laughs of enjoyment grew steadily louder. Ed wasn't sure but he thought he saw a dragon during the ride. The goblin was unaffected and almost looked bored.

With a violent lurch forward they stopped and Dumbledore's face was the colour of parchment and his balance was completely off. Winry and Al, too, was unsteady on her feet. Edward, on the other hand, vaulted elegantly over the side of the cart, still completely balanced but waited for his brother who was puking what was left in his stomach after the portkey all over the cave floors.

"That was the most fun thing that this messed up place has till now" Ed grinned happily as his adrenaline rush came down.

"It seems age has made me less inclined to the joys of life" Dumbledore said shakily. He hasn't had to travel to the bank much often nowadays since other teachers were more than ready to help him.

"You alright?" Ed asked as Al slowly leaned on his cane.

"I'm fine brother but I don't think I'll be able to make another ride very soon."

They both looked up to the doors of their vault. On top of it was a faint transmutation circle. The array was very simple for an alchemist who know their shit but for anyone else it was a complicated set of symbols.

Ed studied the symbols and turned to the goblin. "Isn't this a little too simple. Any alchemist can figure this out fast if they put their mind to it, you know"

The goblin looked offended by this statement. "This array is not just alchemy Mr. Elric. It is fused with magic so that only the blood descendant's of Hohenheim can activate it."

Al looked at the array. It was true that there was an extra energy to it that was different from alchemy. Since his body was so sensitive he could feel it slightly if he concentrated enough. Al put his hands to the array and activated the circle causing the door to slowly open. Inside it were tons of gold, more than both of them have ever seen.

"Holy-"

"-shit!"

"I guess when you have lived hundred of years you tend to have a big collection." Dumbledore said in awe. It wasn't that he haven't seen wealth beyond imaginable but even he was impressed with Hohenheim's vault.
The brothers entered into the vault looking around while the headmaster and Winry stood outside.

"Why aren't you coming in Winry? There's lots of interesting stuff here."

Winry tried to step in only to be stopped by the goblin. "Only family can enter this vault."

"Winry is family" Ed said.

"She is not of blood"

"You don't need to be of blood to be family" Al said. 'And if brother stopped being such a coward then she really will be family.'

The goblin let her in with some disinclination. She looked around at all the wealth but she was not very interested in them. The trio was more interested in the books that almost reached the ceiling, the brothers more than the girl.

"Can we take these books with us?" Al asked the headmaster who took out a small bag, but to the trio surprise it was able to contain almost a quarter of the thousands of books in the cave. They also took a few handful of coins for their supplies before leaving the vault and getting on the carriage.

"Now what?"

"Now you require a wand, I believe"

Hey guys! Wow, 1648 words! Thats a lot for me.

Since everyone is quarantined and is bored out of their mind there's more time to write.

So I did! (^.^)

This is also a celebratory chapter for my friend who finished FMAB and might now get what is actually going on in this story. She basically like:

I think I did a pretty good job introducing her to this.(^_^❀)

Also they reached the wizarding world. I have been having a lot of inspiration so maybe I might just finish *counting fingers*... 3 chapters!

...maybe ಠ_ಠ

I can't wait for this trio to go to Hogwarts and wreak everything there.

Till next time!
