Chapter 3
Morning came and Hadrian awoke in a bed that was unfamiliar, that was until he remembered what had happened yesterday.
After the meeting he dropped in on had finished, Hadrian was hurried to a group of tailors who took his measurements that would be used for his clothes to the coronation tomorrow. And after that he had a meal and was shown to his room, or rather his quarters to sleep.
When he arrived yesterday he had been too tired to actually look much at the room he slept in. The bed was a big four poster bed, made of wood and decorated with gold and a few gemstones. To say this was the most extravagant thing in this room would have been an understatement, everything in the room was made like this, chairs, drawers mirrors, tables, even the walls were decorated with gold and paintings.
Hadrian got out of his bed, his purple silk pyjamas felt soft on his skin as he walked towards a drawer and chose the least extravagant piece of clothing he could find, though, it was still fitted for an emperor, and then he found a bathroom on the right of his bed and took a shower, put on the clothe and went into the area of his quarters that was apparently a dining room.
He sat in a chair and looked around, on the table was a small golden bell, curiously he took it up and rang it.
A few seconds later, two servants came into the room, with a tray of food and a lot of tea, which they placed on the table in front of him before leaving again.
Hadrian looked tray, on it was everything you would find in the Great Hall on a normal day, but this looked way more delicious. Next to the tray was a little note, saying that tailors would arrive at ten to dress him in his clothing for the coronation, Hadrian looked at a nearby clock, 9.30, half an hour then.
Hadrian ate his food and drank his tea, whilst he watched a television to his right side.
"Today the whole world watches as The Roman Empire is being reformed in our modern time," A reporter said, "It was a shocking reveal yesterday when it was announced by representatives from the Imperial court that His Imperial Highness had been found."
The picture switched to a map of the world, where Europe, including all of Russia and excluding most of Britain, was coloured purple. America, Africa, and Australia were all purple as well.
"The Empire has existed in these territories for almost thirty years already, but the public was not informed of this, due to the lack of a monarch. Everything known about the new monarch is that he is 14 years old, soon to turn 15, but the lack of age does not make the court worry that His Highness is fit for the role."
Hadrian turned off the tv just in time for the tailors to arrive, along with Felix.
"Good morning Your Highness" Felix greeted him with a smile "I hope We are rested and prepared for the day."
"Yes," Hadrian said being handed a set of clothes by the tailors and send behind a screen to change. The clothing he had been handed was white, so was the shoes and even the socks. When he was dressed he stepped out from the screen and several medals and other things, including a purple sash, were attached to the clothed by the tailors.
"What are these for?" Hadrian asked and lifted one of the medals up.
"As the Emperor, you'll be head of many of the Empires orders" Felix explained, "And there should be one for defeating a Dark Lord, specifically Voldemort."
Hadrian looked at the at the elderly man, he had said a name most wizards in Britain would flinch at, much less dare speak, and yet he had said it so calmly.
"Is something the matter Your Highness?" Felix asked when Hadrian had stared at him for a bit.
"No," Hadrian said, "It's just that most people give meet would flinch at the name, much less say it out loud."
"Noone outside of Britain fears him that much, our battalions would easily have pushed him back into Britain" Felix explained, "We had the armies prepared to march, but he never came, neither did the Ministry of Magic ask for our help in the matter."
"Why not?"
"They were either too proud to ask for help, or scared we would take control of the countries once our troops were inside."
"Would you really do that?"
"No" Felix looked down "But at the time we would, You and your parents were there."
They let it dwell at that as the tailors put a long, purple cape with white fur outlines with black spots on, around his neck and resting on his shoulders.
The tailors left and Felix shoved Hadrian out of his quarters and down the corridors of the palace to a garage with a black limousine, which they entered. Once the garage opened they drove out and was soon surrounded by police cars, S.W.A.T. cars, and a few helicopters in the air, Hadrian would guess that at least one of the helicopters were from the media.
"Why so much security?" Hadrian asked.
"You are considered to be the most powerful and important person in the world right now your Highness" Felix answered calmly.
They drove through a small forest surrounding the castle and soon entered a city with renaissance like architecture, even though many of the buildings reached over 5 stories.
"Welcome to Rome your Highness," Felix said with a smile.
The streets were lined with people, who were all waving the purple flag of the empire around with joy on their faces as they saw the limousine drive by them and towards a chapel in the middle of the city.
The limo stopped in front of the cathedral and a man stepped forward to open the door for Hadrian to exit. Hadrian exited the car and placed his feet on the red carpet that was placed for him to walk on.
"Ignore the press for now" Felix whispered to him from behind.
Hadrian nodded and began to slowly walk up the carpet towards the cathedral, Four guards dressed in dark purple uniforms, followed close behind him.
He had barely taken two steps before cameras began flashing and reporters were asking for a word about various things. Hadrian walked inside and the doors were closed behind him. The cathedral was filled with people, he guessed they were nobles, politicians, and businessmen who had been invited to see his coronation.
Music began to play as Hadrian walked up towards the golden throne positioned in front of the altar, his long purple cape dragging behind him, he was nervous, but he didn't show it, for he took every steep with all the grace and confidence he could gather.
Practically everyone who was near a television at this moment was watching as Hadrian was about to be made the most powerful person in the world.
Hadrian stood in front of the throne, one of the guards moved up and removed the cape so that he could sit down, and so Hadrian sat upon the thrones purple fur seat, and his straightened back against the similar purple fur back and rested his arms on the golden armrests.
Silence fell in the cathedral as Hadrian sat down, the music came to a complete stop. The cameras adjusted, getting an angle with both Hadrian and the bishop who was gonna crown him in a matter of moments, into the picture.
"Do you, Hadrian James Glücksberg Bonaparte-Habsburg Romanov Von Augustus, swear to protect the people of Rome? To keep them safe and to uphold your duties as Emperor?" The Bishop handed him a golden sceptre, long enough to be used as a walking stick, and a golden orb.
"I swear," Hadrian said, looking directly forward.
"Then, bu the power vested in me by his holiness," the Bishop said, being handed the crown, "I crown you Emperor Hadrian od The Roman Empire," the Bishop placed the golden crown on his head.
Hadrian stood up, holding what would be his Imperial regalia.
"All hail Emperor Hadrian!"
"All hail Hadrian!"
"All hail Hadrian!"
"All hail Hadrian!"
