I know that some of you will disagree with this rant.

But let's just get one thing straight.

No one can deny the facts no matter how much canon your evidence is.

So basically you can say this is me inviting all those masses of Potterheads here to fight with me, but whatever, I could hardly care less.

Anyways, let's get to the rant which might create problems later on...

Many of you hate all the Blacks except Sirius with a heightened passion. The reason for that is basically the way they treated Sirius and how they were so pro Death Eater mindset and then obviously no one can really tolerate Walburga's portrait howling and cursing.

And when I look at any fanfiction which is written on Sirius Black, it usually portrays the Blacks as cruel heartless people who treated their children like filth and tossed the babies around like garbage.

Like seriously...?

It's a big no from me.

Keep that in mind that the Blacks were like wizarding royalty and belonged to high class Purebloods. They were not illiterate cursing maniacs who would go around everywhere screaming their heads off.

And especially not to their own children.

And by saying this, I mean that they wouldn't have been so harsh on Sirius from the very beginning. Their behavior towards him must have changed when he started disobeying them and steering away from their teachings.

Clearly that doesn't mean that they treated Sirius like filth ever since he was born while Regulus was hailed like a Prince, absolutely not.

Walburga could not have been a 24/7 wailing machine when she was alive. True, she must have had a quick temper but really haven't you seen Narcissa? She too was a Black and no matter how pissed off she could get, she would never lose her class.

That's how I picture Walburga to be.

The only reason she turned into such a monster was after her eldest son refused to partake in any of the dreams she had had for him, when he refused to follow in their footsteps and apparently disgraced his family.

Do you honestly believe it would have been so easy for a mother to disown her son and blow his face off the family tree?

The reason for her screaming down to insanity was the loss of both her sons. First Sirius and then Regulus.

And obviously a portrait of a dead witch / wizard is nothing but a painted memory. In her last years she would have had to suffer so much pain and loss that she began to lose herself, or in simple words began to resort to insanity.

In her last years, the only thing she could have been able to comprehend was that her Regulus died so early and her Sirius left her to deal with all of it alone.

So please, for the sake of writing, don't portray the Blacks as screaming maniacs. Dive a bit deeper into their back story and you will realize that they could not have been like that always. There must have been a time, no matter how short, when they would have all been together like a perfect happy family.
