Chapter 12: The Minion

Merry Christmas Guys! This is part of the large Christmas Update! And have a Happy New Year!

Lunar continued to grow and slowly Hogwarts made a small room for her in his and Neville's Room and Harry hid it will a disillusion charm on the doorway that made it seem like a normal wall space.

Though, he knew it he had to leave her at home for next year, he gladly thanked Hogwarts for her consideration to the growing dragon.

He also visited his new friend Solar a lot too, talking about all sorts of things from school subject to even speaking about his father.

Both of his companions listened and he absolutely loved them for that, especially because they each got along with Eclipse as well.

That being said, there were times when it was only he and Eclipse would just take a walk around the school at weird times, sometimes after curfew sometimes before.

Which meant he was surprised, when on a Friday after all his exams which he thought he did pretty well on, he was on the third corridor and found Filch knocked out just outside of Fluffy's room with the doors wide open.

Scared for his friends, Harry checked on Filch and Mrs.Norris and noted that they just seem to be knocked out.

Going into the room, Harry found a snoozing Cerberus looking slightly beat-up with a heart playing in the corner bent and playing a horrible untuned song.

Startled, Harry looked around and saw that the trapdoor was wide open and Harry felt himself freeze before he turned around and sprinted toward the teachers lounge where he knew all the teachers were.

Quickly, opening the door uncaring if he was interrupting something, Harry panted from losing his breath as his face was slightly red from all the running.

"Filch, knocked out. Trapdoor open," Harry spoke quickly as the teachers stood up simultaneously to scold him.

Instead, his words knocked something in them as Professor Snape quickly took control because Dumbledore had left the school earlier.

"Filius, Pomona, make sure all the students including Perfects are in their dorm. Minerva, find Quirrell. Mr.Jackson-"

"I'm going with you. I know I'm a first year but I can help. I promise," Harry told the teacher who looked very hesitant.

"You will obey me, Mr.Jackson," Professor Snape said dangerously as Harry quickly nodded and followed the teacher out as the others went their own way.

Following the professor out of the room, Harry and Professor Snape quickly made their way to the third corridor where a knocked out Filch and Cerberus was.

Quickly walking past the two after making sure Filch would be alright, the two entered the trapdoor.

From there they both fell onto some plant and when Harry said a soft Lumos revealed Devil's Snare where the Professor quickly made a fireball.

With both the Lumos and Fireball, the two quickly unraveled from the dangerous plant and made their way through the traps.

"These seem slightly easy," muttered Harry as he accioed the key from the metal birds. Trying to be as specific as possible so 25 birds didn't fly to him through the spell.

"Yes well, I fear that they should not appear so. You are just using rather unique techniques," Professor Snape muttered as he grabbed the key that made it's way to Harry.

"Why aren't there spells that restrict other spells?" Harry questioned as they made their way to the next room.

"Because if the teachers had to get to the stone quickly, then taking the time to go through all the tasks might make us far too late," the professor explained.

"But I read that Hogwarts had anti-apparition wards. How could the culprit leave so easily after getting the stone? I mean, wouldn't the rooms have anti-portkey spells on them too? Meaning the culprit had to go out the way it came in?" Harry asked.

The Professor seemed somewhat more hesitant to answer and instead they made their way to a room filled with giant chess-pieces.

Instead of taking a spot as one of the players, Professor Snape took the king and instructed Harry to wait and not take a piece, as the rules never said all players there had to be a part of the game.

Quickly, in five simple moves the professor got checkmate and we were able to move onto the next room where the Potions Master's room was.

Instead of using magic like seen in the other room (maybe no the chess room as much), but cool hard logic it was defeated because the one who made the room quickly grabbed the correct solution without glancing at the piece of paper and handed Harry another vial he had in his robe pocket.

From there, both student and teacher entered the room to see Quirrell staring at the Mirror that Harry saw over Christmas break.

Before they could even speak, Quirrell turned around and shot a spell at Harry and Snape.

Snape quickly made a shield and all three of them started to duel. Spells started flying both ways as the stuttering-fool quickly turned into a somehow experienced duelist.

"You won't win fools. My lord will be very pleased with me after this," Quirrell said without a hint of stutter.

"Who is this lord?" The professor asked as he dodged another spell.

"It matters not, but know the Dark Lord will destroy those who get in his way," Sneered Quirrell.

Harry frowned at the term Dark Lord, knowing it was that the most common Dark Lord nowadays was Lord Voldy but some part of Harry, his magic he realized, disagreed that it wasn't who his DADA professor was talking about.

"You are delusional spastic man, the Dark Lord is gone," Professor Snape replied with a sneer that was much scarier than Quirrell could even achieve.

Quirrell gave this sort of maniac laugh before he gripped onto some sort of necklace around his neck and Harry jerked back at the twisted magic that was around it.

Quirrell seemed to mutter something to it and before either Professor or Student could react, Quirrell was gone.

They stood together panting a few seconds before Harry's Potion Professor said the words, "Expecto Patronum," and suddenly there was a doe and Harry's professor said a few words before sending it to McGonagall.

"What was that spell?" Harry asked eagerly as his mind replayed the wand movements and how the words are spoken in his head multiple times before filing them away in his mind.

"A very advance spell that you will not be practicing until at least fifth year," Harry's professor threatened but already felt resigned for the child not listening to the order.

Harry nodded to request as if he agreed but secretly he was already planning on finding an empty classroom to practice in.

"What was Professor Quirrell after?" Harry asked his older professor who was moving toward the mirror.

Harry's professor ignored the child and instead stared deeply into the mirror before his face broke for a second into sorrow before replaced with an impassive look.

"I will have to wait until Albus is back to confirm if the stone was stolen or not," The Potions Master muttered to himself.

"You mean Mr.Flamel's stone?" Harry asked with a small tilt of his head.

Harry realized too late that he shouldn't have mentioned anything by the way his professor was staring at him with a raised eyebrow and a somewhat exasperated look.

"And do tell, Mr.Jackson, how you have come to that conclusion?"

Harry shifted awkwardly wondering if he really should've just went back to his dorms instead of following his professor. "Um, well, you see, Hagrid may have mentioned it to Draco and Neville who then badgered me into telling them what it might mean. Of course I didn't as payback to something that Draco did, but I researched it later...and, yeah. I know that Mr.Flamel's stone was here.

Harry said awkwardly leaving out the part about knowing that Fluffy was upstairs almost the entire school time. He figured his professor had enough exasperation and stress to last a week, no need to add more stress after finding out a student was actively going to the forbidden corridor risking death.

Instead, Professor Snape sighed and shook his head toward the boy. "You and I are going to have a conversation about this Mr.Jackson, probably with your father present."

"My dad would scold me then congratulate me on finding an adventure on accident. You see, it's sort of a Jackson trait to accidentally get in trouble or be at the wrong-place at the wrong-time. Or right-place, wrong-time sort of deal. Dad said Fate hated us, so this is their way to get back at us. Mostly by trying to kill us." As he rambled Harry noticed the small twitch in his teachers left eye and instantly quieted wondering if he just got his dad in trouble.

"It seems that you are not the only one I need to have a conversation with regarding danger it seems," the potion professor said with displeasure.

They stood silently looking at each other, the Potion Master regarding the young boy as said young boy was starting to fidget awkwardly.

"Should I be going to my dorm, Professor?" Harry asked as he twiddled with his fingers, almost acting like his Uncle Leo (who he occasionally has met but Aunt Annabeth mostly visits more often) does with random pieces of machinery in his pocket.

The older man regarded the young boy before nodding slowly and then lead the child gifted with magic back to his dorm-room safely before searching for his colleagues to discuss the information he learned and wait for the school Headmaster to return.

BONUS: Percy talking with Dumbledore after Quidditch Fiasco

Percy walked toward the school like he was calm, Lucius was following him almost at a subdue pace wondering if it was a good idea letting his friend convince him to take him to the school.

Because while Percy screamed calm, the thing that betrayed him was his eyes. They were coiling and attacking like a angry wave trying to drown a ship at sea while it was fiercely raining.

And so, Percy and Lucius were walking toward the school, Percy portraying calmness in all but his eyes, and Lucius who was behind Percy suddenly scared of his friend.

It wasn't until they got just outside the Great Hall where lunch was going on that there was a subtle change in Percy Jackson.

The power seemed to swell around him slightly as he suddenly pushed the doors of the Great Hall with a bang and walked in like he owned the place, Lucius following with some hesitance.

The Great Hall instantly went silent as people stared at the man that surprisingly looked like their missing Hufflepuff Golden Boy.

"I do believe you and I need to have a chat, Mr.Dumbledore," Percy's voice was calm and collected, but everyone saw his eyes sharpen as they roamed over the teachers table and spotted Quirrell.

Albus Dumbledore, for once, felt nervous, the aura around the young man in front of him screamed of some sort of power, but he felt no magic coming off the young man. It was obvious he wasn't a wizard, but the angry rolling powers around him screamed he wasn't completely muggle either.

"And who might you be?" Albus asked calmly as he stood up, his eyes twinkling as he gave off this grandfatherly aura.

Instead of being calmed, the young man's aura seemed to spike in what seemed like partial amusement and anger at trying to be manipulated.

"I am Percy Jackson. Mr.Potter-Jackson's father," Percy's voice was slightly sharper now, a protective tone entered his voice as the Great Hall muttered in silent whispering.

"Percy-"

"Mr.Jackson," Percy's sharp voice intervened, "I did not give you permission for my first name and I am no student of yours."

Albus felt for once in his life, unsure as he stared at the not-fully-muggle in front of him. The aura was spiking dangerously and the Great Hall ceiling was starting to become darker like clouds were starting to cover the sun.

It was preposterous but Albus felt that the young man had something to do with the clouds that looked remarkably like storm clouds.

"Mr.Jackson, I don't believe we have an appointment-"

"Hades Underwear! You are an old sot if you think that I will not meet with you, appointment or no appointment! Mr son was in danger at this school, he could have been killed," Percy sneered as he said this finally losing some of the little patience he had as he grew older.

"Mr.Jackson-" Albus slightly panicked voice tried to drown out the sudden lightning and a downfall of rain started being displayed on the Great Hall ceiling. All the students were deathly silent hoping not to draw attention to themselves to the muggle in front of them.

Even Lucius himself was hiding in the shadows by Severus and both were cautiously watching their friend and hoping not to draw attention to themselves.

"Do not Mr.Jackson me," Percy's sharp words rang out even through the lightning that was somehow being sounded through the Great Hall, which was very uncommon as the enchantments only made the image come through, not the sound, which meant that the lightning was so loud outside it was blasting through the Great Hall.

"My son, was almost killed here. Which brings me to this warning that I want everyone to think about very carefully should you hurt my son. If I so much hear a peep that my son has almost been killed again, bullied whatsoever, or his friends bullied, I will give your life hell that even Alecto, an Underworld torturer, will be impressed by my skills and learn off of them. And I mean it Quirrell, should you even look at my son again I will torture you so much that you will wish for death to take you," Percy said before he suddenly turned back toward the Great Hall doors.

With those words, Percy strolled out of the Great Hall, the weather above suddenly clearing and the lighting in the Great Hall didn't seem so dark anymore.

"Oh, and before I forget," Percy said as he stopped just inside the archway of the doors, "my son will be returned to this school in the next few days, I assume you will go about making sure Hogwarts is better protected won't you?"

With that, Percy strolled out of the Great Halls, somehow the wind making the doors slam behind him making everyone jump.

The silence stayed in the Great Hall for a few more seconds before Lucius dryly said out loud, "Remind me to not get on his bad side, Severus."

"Remind you? Remind me would you," Severus muttered back to the surprise to many students. Before they knew it though, it was time for classes once more.
