:: Chapter 7 :: Brooms, potions and tears

Harry watched his father turn his food blue and then stared at his own breakfast with a stare hoping it would turn blue to. Before suddenly it was and he looked to his father with wide eyes. He laughed when his father sent him a wink.

"What is it with you two and Blue food?" Draco asked as he tiredly sat in front him. Eating his own food once it was on his plate.

"It make sit remastered better is all." He avoided with a smile and stuffed his face before a paper was handed to him from the older years. It was their schedule.

His eyes landed on his potions class, onto the professors name. He frowned a little before taking a glance at said man. He was talking to his Dad, obviously getting annoyed. But Percy continued his quest to become friends with the man.

For some reason he was angry about it, but he had decided he wouldn't think about his birth parents. Obviously they didn't want him. And yet, why did it still hurt him to think that?

"You okay?" Draco asks setting his fork down.

Glancing up, Harry nodded before pushing his plate away and standing. "I'm going to get to first class before we're late. We don't exactly know the way yet remember?" He smiled and walked off as he heard Draco swear at the time before hurrying after him.

"Come on, you don't have anyone?" Percy pushed as he leaned into view of Mr-I-Am-The-Night. "Girlfriend? Boyfriend maybe?"

"No, I don't. Now please stop asking before I jinx you to death." Snape snapped as he stood.

Percy finding this fun followed after. "I would like to see you try." He laughed when that seemed to hit a nerve with him.

The man turned a wand to Percy's throat-they were in the hallway now. Kids gasping at the encounter. "Watch it boy."

Percy leaned into it. Shocking Snape as he baffedly walked back. "You are telling the truth right? Never?"

Growling he got close to the mans face. "I only ever loved once, now she's dead." With that he turned away. Leaving Percy to watch his robes billow behind him dramatically.

Shrugging he turned and headed for his classroom near the astronomy tower.

Harry on the other hand was trying to figure out how to get to the quidditch field, As was Draco, Daphne and Blaise. Weirdly being followed by Crabbe, Goyle and Pansy. They didn't get any help from any older Gryffindors, or Ravenclaw that they asked-they only got lost some more.

Until they all saw a Hufflepuff who was directing other Hufflepuffs, really, just one line boy. They walked over to the older year a bit nervous.

"Ah, quidditch field? I was just bringing this one that way, I'm Cedric Diggory. Nice to meet you all." He smiled at them and ha them follow him.

"What your name?' Daphne asked the first year Hufflepuff who stayed close to the older one, having not spoken a word while holding a frog.

Reminding Harry about his Puffskein, so he reached up to find that the little purple fluff was still in his hair. Sleeping most likely.

"Nev-Neville Longbottom." He was a soft chubby boy with slight buck tooth, but he'd grow out of it without a doubt-for now he was as cute as a button. Daphne thought so as she smiled brightly at him and Introduced herself to the shy boy.

"Nice to meet you Neville, I'm Harry." He waved his hand at him with a smile.

"I'm Draco!" The Malfoy introduced as soon as Harry did, and Blaise only nodded while Daphne introduced him with a roll of her eyes.

Crabbe, Goyle and Pansy didn't say a word but sneered in his direction, which in turn got them a glare from Harry and Daphne.

"We should hangout sometime." Draco said as he too was a little miffed at the threes attitude, plus Daphne did say to get a Hufflepuff buddy. "Maybe eat together at lunch? Your table or ours?"

"Oh that sounds fun, we can switch at dinner too!" Daphne clapped her hands a smile on her lips.

Neville frowned with a tilt of his head. "Wait...can we even do that?"

"Technically there is no rule against it." Blaise spoke up as they came to the way they'd have to split from the Hufflepuffs.

Harry patted Neville's head with a smile. "See you at Lunch!" With that they walked off following the directions from Cedric.

Pansy looked absolutely horrid with her pout.

Cedric smiled at Neville, seeing the boys small happy one appear on his face. "Slytherin as are good friends, don't let anyone tell you different Neville, now come on."

____

Staring at the old broom by their feet, Harry didn't know how to feel, even though he's not blood related to his Dad/Percy. He felt like he should still be worried about flying in his Great Uncles domain, but then again it was Scotland. Somewhere.

"Now, when I blow my whistle, you will put your hand out, palm facing the broom, and yell 'Up!' Until all brooms are up, go on." Madam Hooch said and then blew her whistle.

Harry watched as Draco yelled up, and his broom came into his hand instantly and he smirked happily. But considering how in the way here on the train, he had been taught broom riding before made Harry roll his eyes at his proud look.

Shaking his hand he put it out and over the broom. "Up!" He yelled hoping it would work, and it did, as it quickly lifted into his hand faster then Draco's had.

They met eyes in astonishment.

"Nice job Harry!" Draco smiled at him and Harry smiled brightly back as he started to get excited to ride the broom.

His attention was taken away as he heard laughing across from them, a boy, red headed like the twins that came into their compartment before arriving to Hogwarts was there laughing while holding his stomach. Laughing at a girl whose broom just rolled around on the ground helplessly. She looked on the verge of crying. What made Harry angry was how she was in the same house as the boy, the rest joining.

"Hey," Harry cursed himself for stepping up and out of line. He wasn't no dam Gryffindor but yet here he was. "Leave her alone, you pig." Harry snarled as he walked over to the ready eyed girl.

Her bushy hair laid around her shoulders in wild frizz and her skin was dark toned and mixed well with her house colors. "Thanks." She whispered with a sad smile.

"Don't worry bout them." Harry patted her shoulder as he glared at the now red faced red haired boy. "They're stupid. You're just overthinking it."

"I am?" She asked as she looked at her joe still broom.

"Yes, trust here," he held a hand over his chest. "Don't let your thoughts cloud it. You're very smart aren't you?" He asked as he looked over how put together she was, like the Ravenclaws and yet she was a Gryffindor.

"I...yes I suppose." She put her hand out, let a breath out and relaxed. "Up!" With that the broom came flying into her hand. Her smiled brightened the more she realized she had done it.

"There you go." He smiled.

"Doesn't mean shes any good. It took her ten minutes to get it up. Says a lot don't you think?" The red faced git said as he walked in front of Harry when he tried to go back to o his spot.

"Yes, it shows she doesn't give up. I'd say that's pretty good to show off, isn't it?" He said politely as he held his own broom.

"It makes her slow!" He yelled making Harry glare down on him in an icy way.

"Let me guess, it took you hours? Considering how you were boasting earlier to your friends here that you play quidditch with your overly large family?" Draco spoke up as he came to Harry's side, Daphne and Blaise soon joining, and following them, the rest of the Slytherin first years did as well.

The Weasley went from red faced to turning a dangerous purple. "No..." he spoke through gritted teeth.

Honestly it was pretty lame, but Harry wasn't going to stand for bullying. "Just cause she's smart, way smarter then you. Then I suggest you leave her alone or one day-considering she is in the house of brave, she'll kick your ass." With that he grabbed the girl and pulled her over to the Slytherin side.

"Thank you." She spoke with a smile.

With that, the rest of the time went by pretty easy. Harry could for sure be certain he liked flying, was a natural at it if he had any say, so was Draco.

_____

Potions, was easier to get to, since it was so close by to their dorms. Their House professor also being the potions professor also made sure to give them a simple direction with his speech last night.

Entering they found a seat in the back, talking quietly as they put their stuff down and waited for class to started. Taking our a never ending ink quill and a paper that transfers into a notebook later. Harry looked around the dusty room and felt slightly attached to it for some reason. It felt-familiar somehow.

His eyes quickly went to the billowing caped man who walked in finding it elegant and extremely dramatic as he started speaking. Harry writing every word to what he said, trying memorize it. Feeling a tightness in his chest as he notice how the voice seemed to calm him in a way only his Dad could do. But now there was a second.

So when Snape started asking his questions, he was obviously caught off guard and looked absolutely stupid when he didn't know the answers.

But the entire class made his interest in potions disappear and a morbid fear set in as Snape practically attacked him verbally.

He wouldn't have minded, if it wasn't for the fact that the man was his mother biologically-still trying to figure that out honestly.

When the class was over he ran off wanting his dad, so when he ran into him he tackled him in a hug.

"Harry? Baby what's wrong?" Percy asked once he wrapped his arms over his emotional son. He picked him up easily and turned towards his private quarters, ignoring the students, and them ignoring them, as Percy and out a notice me not spell on them.

Harry only dug himself into his father, he couldn't stop the tears, just like he couldn't stop the pain in his chest.

Holding his boy close he just teleported on the spot and into his room, there he laid down with Harry, stroking his sons hair softly as he hummed a lullaby his mother had sung to him many times before. Hoping it would help.

"Snape isn't how I imagined, or he's exactly how I imagined. He hates me, and I know why. He never wanted me." Harry finally burst out and sobbed into Percy.

Without a moments pause he continued stroking Harry before speaking up. "I don't think he knows your his as well. I think...his memories have been played with...."

Sniffling Harry looked up at his Dad with a puppy eyes look. "What if he isn't my mother?"

"Well considering I can feel your connection-even tho it's faint it's still strong. He's definitely your mother. But, there's something clouding it, a fogginess like feeling. And don't you worry, I will help him remember if you want." Percy hugged Harry closer.

"Then why is he mean to me? I didn't even do anything and I was so excited for potions to." Harry cried.

"I'll talk some sense into that Dungeon bat, don't worry. Now, come on, Bronx and Angus might want to play together while I make you some hot coco okay?" He got up softly, Harry having to let go when he stood.

Harry pouted. "With blue?"

Smiling brightly he laughed. "Of course."
