Chapter 5
His sleeping pattern had not changed much the past few years. With nightmares and difficulties falling asleep, yet this time he had slept peacefully or almost. It was probably the protective feeling that he got from both his companion and Toby that made it possible for him to fall asleep. It was surprising how well he had slept, even when there had been a nightmare in the middle of the night, but this was normal. Yet it had changed and Harvey could not remember how or what it was about. Either way he had a good rest. To his surprise when waking up he was cuddled by Toby.
Kind of adorable, even when the other was sometimes ticking and twitches that were felt but it was comfortable. His brows furrowed and now that he had rested, Harvey realized that his magic was not seeing this person as a threat. A thing that had happened as with Luna, Neville and the Twins.
They felt like family and made him confused how Toby could feel this way. His instincts were barely ever wrong and usually he trusted them, but trusting someone he got just known was scary. Hopefully his instincts had not been wrong.
"Awe look how adorable they are Jeffy." The chipper voice of Sally made him flinch and flush deeply.
"Ho-How did you-"
"I am a ghost, silly so of course I can enter closed spaces." Sally sounded as if this was normal and made him wary.
"We-We talked ab-about this Sal. Do-Don't enter a room wi-without knocking." Toby grumbled out and he could tell that the other just woke up.
"But-"
"He's right. You could have gotten hurt." This time it was another male's voice that he knew was called Ben.
"Guys, stop it. Everyone out." This time it was EJ sternly and now he was left alone with Toby and his companion.
"Pika!"
"Mornin..." He mumbled and feeling not up for getting out of bed.
It was warm and comfy. Then there was the dread of meeting many people at the same time. Harvey knew that there would be Smile Dog and he really was not liking the thought of this. A shudder went through him and he hid under the blanket instantly.
"I am guessing it has to do with the fear from yesterday?"
"Mhm, dun wanna go." His whine was muffled through the blanket but he knew that the other heard for sure.
"Don't worry, you will be with me and for sure BRVR will protect you as well." The promised tone was making him peak out and this was how he ended up being carried like a toddler -not that he wasn't body wise- and then he stayed sitting on the other's lap. There was just no way that he would let go and sit separated.
His head was even buried into the chest, not wanting to show. It was feeling as if he was protected and when he would not see anyone they could not see him either. That was at least the thought he had, and Harvey knew it was wrong but it seemed some aspect of a toddler stayed. Like this thought or the sudden urge to hug a plushy.
"You want me to feed you, Harvey or you want to do it on your own." The question alone -and as always ticks were sometimes heard- was making him pause and think of it. Never had he had someone feed him and the thought of this was something that he always wanted. But who would want to feed a freak like him? Clearly Toby was thinking that he was not one and that he was worthy of it or else he would not ask him.
"Cou-Could you um..." He shyly wanted to accept but he could not bring himself to say this out loud. Cheeks heated up and he could tell that everyone was watching him and for sure heard some coos.
"I am sure that no one will make fun of you for wanting this." This was said in a reassuring tone and made him slowly nod, hoping that the other would get that he wanted this.
"Feeding it is. You want some waffles?"
"Wa-Waffles?" He had never had waffles before and couldn't really remember how they looked like. Harvey knew that his mind was somewhat between his age yet as well his toddler age.
"Yup, I can put any of the topics you want to have on." (Just imagine him with ticks and all, as I just feel it is easier to read as well as writing.)
"Oh I um nev-never had waffles." His voice was timid and he swallowed when feeling the stiffening.
"You never- Oh you don't know what you're missing then."
"Not true, waffle addict."
"What was that Jeff?"
The two continued to bicker and it was unusual and made him peak out. The others looked amused and he could see that this was the normality between the two. But as the other's attention was on him, was unnerving him and hiding his face instantly back on the other's chest.
The rest of the meal was chaotic but he was not minding it too much. It seemed to be normal. The waffles that were given to him were tasty and he was not minding getting fed. It was something that he never had. So at least one thing about him getting de-aged was good.
A/N Apologies for taking this long, but I am slumped with where to go with this story. Will still post the rest, but then it will be on hold until I figure out how to end it.
