Soulmates?
The concept of having soulmates sounded nice - no amazing - to you. You loved the idea that there was one person for you out there. One person that was right for you and one person you would spend the rest of your life with.
But seeing that the universe was a bitch, there came a little twist with it. You didn't know who your soulmate was until you actually fell for them and heard them admit that they loved you as well. Everyone was born with the Initial of their First Name on their wrists, but seeing that yours was an H didn't help you a lot in finding the one.
Of course, it narrowed it down, but after dating a Harry and a Hunter, you were tired of looking around for the right one. What happened happened, so you started to live your life without the constant need of finding your soulmate.
Staring at your tattoo after taking your morningly shower before work, you put on your bracelet to hide the little letter that was so discreetly placed on your wrist. You didn't want anyone wondering who your potential soulmate could be or if you had already found yours. Once you've found the one, the tattoo would fade and their whole name would start to appear where the letter had been placed before.
What was the point in all of this? No idea, because it certainly didn't save you any heartbreaks with Harry or Hunter after you had told them you actually loved them - or that's probably what you thought you did just because their names matched the letter on your wrist. The letter may narrow it down, but it also made talking to boys a lot harder since you basically could just stop talking after finding out their name didn't start with an H.
The buzzing of your phone brought you back to reality.
Yo Sweets, Tom got called in to set early, so I'm already on set. Am I still picking you up in an hour or are you able to get here yourself? - H xx
Yeah, see how that message what signed with the letter H? Harrison for sure wasn't the one, he was your best friend, someone you had been through thick and thin with, someone you could always rely on and someone you already loved to death without being in a relationship with them.
Harrison and you had told each other you loved each other plenty of times, so he obviously wasn't your soulmate. His name didn't appear on your wrist and neither did yours on his, which made you forget about the little crush you had on him a few months back.
You still hadn't seen Harrison's letter. Whenever you asked him about it, he told you that he didn't want someone to only talk to him because they thought their letters matched. He didn't want his life controlled by that stupid letter on his wrist, so he constantly wore a watch to cover it up.
Of course there were a lot of times where you had wished to see if there was a possibility of his letter being your Initial Letter, but you figured that after five years of friendship both of your names should be gracing each others wrists already - but they weren't, so you knew he wasn't the one.
Harrison stood on the sidelines of the Spider-Man: Far From Home set as he watched his friend do multiple flips and poses in his new suit. Tom was born for this role and Harrison had been there from the start, supporting him and cheering him on from the sidelines. The blonde boy couldn't be prouder of him. Smiling to himself he felt his phone buzz in his pocket.
I should be alright. Going to grab an Uber and head over in a bit. - (Y/I/N) xx
Harrison loved you. He knew he did. He knew he liked you the minute he first saw you. He knew he was in love with you the moment you first looked into his eyes. And he knew he loved you the moment you told him your name.
(Y/I/L) - the letter that had been gracing his wrists since his 14. birthday.
(Y/I/L) - the letter that meant so much to him.
(Y/I/L) - the letter that just didn't want to fucking disappear to finally let your name be tattooed on his wrist.
Was it possible for him to be so wrong about his feeling? Could there be a person he could love more than he already loved you? The boy didn't know if his tattoo was broken or if he was broken, but the minute he saw you, he stopped paying attention to everyone else.
The blonde still remembers the first time he was confused about your name not appearing on his wrist. The two of you were cuddled up in the boy's bed after your weekly movie nights, making him wish you could stay like this forever.
"Good night, Love." Harrison whispered as he placed a soft kiss on top of your hair.
"Night, Harrison. Love you." You smiled as you cuddled further into the boy's chest.
"Love you too." He said as his heart started hammering. Was this the moment your name finally appeared on his wrist? Or was he still delusional in thinking you were his soulmate?
Harrison hadn't seen your tattoo either. You always wore your bracelet or long sleeves to keep it hidden from him. Of course there were times where he thought about looking at it in the middle of the night, but he felt like it wasn't his place to find out if his Initial Letter was gracing you wrist. You would've told him already if there was a possibility that he might be the one for you, right? Right?
You showed up on set about 30 minutes after Harrison had texted you. What even did you work as on the famous Marvel set? You had no idea, but when Tom offered you to be Harrison's right hand and help him run his things with your best friend, you obviously accepted. Being paid to spend time with two of your best friends was literally the dream.
Greeting everyone, you walked over to where you saw Harrison watch Tom do all sorts of stunts. Sneaking up behind the blonde, you wrapped your arms around him and started tickling his stomach, making him squirm under your touch. The fun lasted for about two seconds before Harrison managed to pull your hands away from his body.
Turning around, you were greeted by the most beautiful blue eyes you had ever seen. Eyes that were nothing new to you, but eyes that made your heart skip a beat every time you looked into them.
"Good morning to you, too." He grinned as he placed a soft kiss on your forehead. Something he had been doing every morning for the past two months. Something that was going to make your crush on him come back if he didn't stop doing it. Something - that made you wish the universe wasn't being a bitch and let you have him as yours.
"Morning." You smiled as Harrison stepped away from you, "What are the plans for today?"
"Tom is doing a few stunts with Zendaya, so that should be fun to watch. He also has a phone call scheduled with the Chaos Walking guys to sort out all the things for the reshoots, so that should be interesting. Can't wait to see if they need him to cut his hair again." Harrison grinned.
"But his hair looks so pretty at the moment." You heard yourself say as Harrison's heart dropped. Were you in love with his best friend? Was there a T on your wrist he didn't know about? No, it couldn't be, Tom's letter wasn't your initial letter.
Looking at Harrison, you saw a flash of concern cross his face before he went back to his normal self and smiled at you.
"Are you okay?" You asked, knowing something was bugging him.
You had known the guy for years now and sometimes it felt like you immediately knew when something was wrong with him. You could read him like an open book. Harrison was always being very secretive with his problems and concerns, but for you it was always clear when he wasn't fully paying attention to whatever was going on around him and today seemed to be one of those days.
"Of course, all's great." He smiled, wrapping his arm around your shoulder as he pulled you into his side, placing another kiss on top of your head.
"I love you, (Y/N)." He mumbled as you felt yourself wrap your arms tighter around the boy next to you.
"I love you too, Harrison." You smiled. You loved him. You really, really loved him.
He was still debating on whether or not to ask you to tell the universe to go fuck itself and ask you if you wanted to go out on a date when Tom jogged over to the two of you.
"Yo mate, do you know where Zendaya is?" Tom asked as Harrison let go of you to pull out the schedule for today.
"She's supposed to be on set in about an hours, why?" Harrison answered after he had checked the girl's schedule.
"Fuck, well they told me they needed to see if I'm strong enough to lift her." Tom rolled his eyes, "Or else they're going to bring in the stunt guys."
"They .. they need to see if you're strong enough?" Harrison burst out laughing as Tom threw his head back in annoyance.
"Yeah, yeah, keep taking the piss, I'd still kick your ass. Just watch your back, mate." Tom chuckled as his eyes wandered over to you, "Wait! (Y/N)! Are you scared of heights?"
"No?"
"Forget it, mate!" Harrison said, putting his arm back around you, "You're not going to use her as your test object to see if you can lift someone."
"There are mats! And I have lifted her plenty of times! And I'm not going to let her fall, stop being so damn protective, she's my friend as well!" Tom protested.
"No. Ask Harry or something." Harrison shrugged.
"Harry is busy." Tom explained, "Oh come one! (Y/N), please."
"I don't want you hurting her." You had to admit it was adorable how protective Harrison could get when it came to you, but you were still your own person who could talk for yourself.
"Yeah, sure. I trust you." You shrugged as Harrison let out a groan, "Come on, you know that he's strong enough, H."
"I do." The blonde mumbled, still not wanting to see Tom use you as his test object.
"Amazing, come on." Tom grinned as he took your hand and dragged you along to the set in front of you, "And do me a favour and call Z to see if she can come in earlier." The boy shouted back at his friend who was still having an internal argument about whether or not to let you go through with this.
Stepping a few steps closer to immediately be there if something happened, Harrison observed the scene in front of him. The stunt team told you that you had to wrap your legs around Tom's waist and your arms around his neck before a rope would pull you up and bring you down again. It didn't look dangerous at all and you were sure Tom wasn't going to let you drop in the first place, but Harrison wasn't as cool with it as you seemed to be.
The boy's hands had gotten sweaty as he tried to dry them on his pants when he realized something unusual. His watch had moved an inch, revealing something he hadn't seen before.
"Alright, (Y/N). Let's show them how strong I am, aye?" Tom grinned, pulling down his mask as you jumped up into his arms and wrapped your legs around his waist.
"3, 2, 1, Go!" The team shouted before you were being pulled up by the rope above you.
Tom held you steady and you almost didn't move an inch and before you knew it you were back on the ground. Spider-Man went back to being just Tom who held out his hand to high-five you.
Just as you went in for the high five you felt Tom's eyes go wide before you felt him grab your wrist and move your bracelet a few inches.
"Does he know?" The boy asked, "Wait, of course he does, he had to say it too for this to appear. Why didn't you guys tell me? I thought you told me everything?" Tom pouted as you looked at him in confusion. What was this guy talking about?
"What are you talking about, Tom?" You asked, pulling back your wrist before covering your little H again with your bracelet.
"Uh? Maybe that Harrison and you are soulmates, dumbass?" Tom said as if it was obvious what he was talking about.
"W-we're not?" You said as you quickly turned around to look for Harrison who was now standing on the side, eyes glued to his wrist.
"Yeah? You are?" Tom was now fully thinking you were going crazy, "Wait! Did this just happen? Look at you damn wrist, (Y/N)!"
Taking off your bracelet, you felt yourself let out a gasp. Your H was gone.
Harrison
"Dude, this just happened didn't it?" Tom asked, a smile showing on his lips. Your mutual friend knew how much Harrison loved you, and he also knew how much you loved him. The boy had been confused himself as to why you hadn't been soulmates from the day you met.
"Y-Yes." You stuttered, unsure of what to now.
Harrison
You couldn't stop staring at the name on your wrist. Using your finger to trace your new tattoo, you felt your mouth curve into a smile. Harrison was your soulmate.
(Y/N)
Harrison almost couldn't believe it when he saw that it wasn't just a little (Y/I/L) that was tattooed on his wrist.
(Y/N)
The name he had been wishing for had finally appeared on his wrist. He wasn't delusional. He truly did love you and the universe finally seemed to have realized it as well. You were his soulmate.
Looking up from his own wrist to find you, he saw you look at you wrist as well, Tom standing next to you with a big grin on his face as his eyes found Harrison's. Giving his best mate a thumbs up, Harrison felt his lips spread into a wide grin as he jogged over to where you were standing.
Feeling arms wrap around you from behind, you felt like you were going to faint. Everything seemed so much clearer right now. Everything seemed so - right.
"Hey .. soulmate." You felt Harrison whisper against your hair as he placed a soft kiss on it.
Turning around in the boy's arms you knew that this was were you belonged. That this was your place to be. That no other than Harrison Osterfield was the one.
