chapter fifteen
The flight to Korea was filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation. The business class cabin was spacious and comfortable, with plush seats and ample legroom. The boys and I had settled in, and the atmosphere was relaxed as we prepared for the long journey ahead.
I was dressed in a pair of comfortable track pants that highlighted my curves and a casual top that, despite my best efforts to adjust it, had slipped down slightly, revealing a bit more cleavage than I had intended. The relaxed yet flattering outfit was perfect for the long flight, though it did seem to attract a bit more attention than I had anticipated.
Seated next to Yoongi, who was in high spirits and seemed to be in the mood for some playful flirting, I couldn’t help but notice his gaze lingering on me a bit longer than usual. His eyes traveled from my face down to the exposed part of my cleavage, and I felt a flush creep up my neck. I adjusted my top, trying to cover up, but it was clear that Yoongi’s attention was fixed.
“So, Ava,” Yoongi began, his voice low and teasing, “how are you finding your first business class experience?”
I tried to maintain my composure, though the warmth of his gaze made it difficult. “It’s amazing. I’m not used to such luxury.”
Yoongi’s eyes lingered on my outfit, his flirtatious smile widening. “Well, you’re certainly looking quite stunning today. The way your top… fits you perfectly just adds to the experience.”
I felt a flush of embarrassment, my cheeks heating up as I struggled to focus on something else. The boys, seated a few rows ahead, quickly picked up on the interaction. Jungkook, always the mischievous one, noticed my flushed cheeks and decided to have some fun.
“Hey, Yoongi, don’t get too carried away,” Jungkook called out, his voice carrying over the cabin. “I think Ava’s already feeling the heat.”
Yoongi flashed his trademark gummy smile and winked. “What can I say? Ava’s looking particularly captivating today.”
The comment only made my blush deepen, and I could feel the heat spreading across my face. The boys’ teasing remarks heightened my embarrassment, making me fidget in my seat.
Jimin, from his seat across the aisle, added with a grin, “Looks like Yoongi’s not the only one who’s flustered. Ava’s turning red as a tomato!”
Taehyung, from a few rows back, chimed in with a playful smirk. “Yeah, I’m starting to think Yoongi’s making her blush on purpose.”
I tried to ignore the teasing and focus on making myself comfortable. However, as the flight progressed, the boys’ playful banter continued, and I found it increasingly difficult to relax. Their remarks, while lighthearted, only made my situation more awkward.
Eventually, it was time for us to switch seats for a bit of variety. I ended up moving to an empty seat next to Taehyung, who greeted me with his usual bright smile.
“Hey, Ava! Fancy a change of scenery?” Taehyung said, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
I smiled back, grateful for a change of pace. “Sure, Taehyung. I think I could use a bit of a distraction.”
As I settled into my new seat, I felt a sense of relief. However, my luck took a turn for the worse when the plane hit a bit of turbulence. The sudden jolt caused me to lose my balance, and before I knew it, I was stumbling forward, landing right in Taehyung’s lap.
The unexpected fall made me gasp in surprise, and I looked up to find Taehyung’s face inches from mine. His laughter was warm and infectious, and he quickly wrapped his arms around me to steady me.
“Well, this is a rather nice surprise,” Taehyung teased, his voice full of mirth. “I didn’t expect to have such an interesting flight.”
I tried to push myself up, but Taehyung’s embrace was gentle and comforting. I felt my cheeks burning with embarrassment as I looked up at him. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to—”
Taehyung’s laughter only grew, and he continued to tease me. “No need to apologize. I’m actually quite enjoying the view.”
The boys, who had been observing the situation, burst into laughter. Jungkook, ever the troublemaker, called out from his seat, “Looks like Taehyung’s getting all the attention now!”
Jimin joined in, his voice filled with playful sarcasm. “I guess Taehyung’s the lucky one today. Who knew sitting next to him would be such an adventure?”
I felt a mixture of mortification and amusement as I tried to compose myself. Taehyung’s playful teasing was endearing, and despite my embarrassment, I couldn’t help but smile at his infectious laughter.
Once I managed to regain my balance and sit up properly, Taehyung continued to hold my hand, his touch reassuring. “Don’t worry, Ava. It’s all part of the fun.”
I looked at him, feeling grateful for his kindness and patience. “Thanks, Taehyung. I appreciate it.”
The flight continued with more playful banter and lighthearted teasing from the boys. Despite the turbulence and the occasional embarrassment, the journey was filled with laughter and camaraderie.
After a while, I decided to make a trip to the bathroom. As I stood up, I adjusted my top and made my way down the aisle. The cabin was relatively quiet, but the boys’ laughter was still audible from the back of the plane.
As I approached the bathroom, Jin, who had just emerged from his own trip to the restroom, was stepping back into the cabin. Our paths crossed in the narrow aisle, and in a moment of clumsiness, Jin’s hand brushed against the curve of my butt.
The unexpected touch made me freeze, and I looked up at Jin with wide eyes. He seemed just as startled as I was, his face flushing with a mixture of embarrassment and surprise.
“I—Oh, I’m so sorry!” Jin stammered, his eyes darting away. “That was completely accidental.”
I felt my cheeks burning, and I could barely manage a reply. “It’s okay, Jin. It was just an accident.”
Jin’s eyes softened as he looked at me, his smile tinged with awkwardness. “Really, I didn’t mean to. It’s just, the aisle is so narrow.”
I nodded, trying to regain my composure. “No harm done.”
As I entered the bathroom, I couldn’t help but feel the heat of embarrassment lingering. The boys’ teasing and Jin’s accidental touch had left me flustered, but I tried to focus on the positive aspects of the flight.
When I emerged from the bathroom, the boys were still chatting and joking. Jungkook, noticing my return, immediately picked up on my flustered demeanor. He grinned mischievously and called out, “Hey, Ava, did Jin give you a warm welcome?”
Jin shot Jungkook a playful glare, while I felt my cheeks flush once again. “Jungkook, stop it,” I said, trying to laugh off the situation. “It was just a little accident.”
The boys laughed, their teasing continuing, but I couldn’t help but smile at their playful camaraderie. Despite the occasional embarrassment, the journey was filled with laughter and affection, and the strong bond between us was evident in every interaction.
As the plane began its descent, I looked around at the boys, their faces filled with excitement and joy. The future awaited us, and with the love and companionship of the seven men who had become my family, I felt ready to embrace whatever lay ahead.
The journey had been filled with unexpected moments and playful interactions, but it had also been a reminder of the strong bond we shared. With a heart full of anticipation and a smile on my lips, I prepared for the next chapter of our lives in Korea.
