A DIFFERENT PLAN

The Asur brothers Vikat and Vighn, wanted to rule all the universe but for that they had to be immortal.

Thus they married two yakshinis, named Chitra and Chitralekha. There intention was to make their wives do vrat and tapasya so that Mata Parvati can be happy with them, and they can ask for their husband's immortality for boon.

This was a matter of concern for the gods, thus they went to Mahadev and Mata Parvati for help.

"Isme mai kuch nahi kar sakti, mujhe unn dono ko vardaan dena hi hoga." Mata Parvati said.

"Kintu Mata, woh Teeno loko par apna adhipatya jama ke logo par atyachar karenge." Indradev said.

"Kshama kijihe Indradev Vardaan toh mujhe dena hi padega." Mata Parvati said and disappeared.

"Devraj, aap jaa ke Harihareshwari se iss baat par charcha kijiye. Woh aapki sahayata awashya karengi." Mahadev suggested.

"Jo agya prabhu." Indradev said and vanished in thin air.

Here at Harihar lok, Amarsri and Amardev were organizing a reception for their wedding, when Indradev appeared in front of them.

"Devi Harihareshwari, humari sahayata kijiye !" Indradev said.

"Kya hua Indradev, Asuro ne punah swarg par adhipatya jama liya ?" Amarsri asked.

"Nahi Devi, ab tak toh nahi." Indradev said.

"Ab tak nahi arthat ?" Amardev asked.

"Vikat aur Vighn, 2 asur bhai teeno loko par apna adhipatya jamana chahte hai...unki patniya yakshini Chitra aur Chitralekha ne Mata Parvati ko prasnn bhi kardiya hai aur woh unse vardaan mai Vikat aur Vighn ko woh dono amar kar dengi." Indradev said.

"Toh isme hum aapki kya sahyata kar sakte hai ?" Amardev asked.

"Mahadev ne kaha ki Devi Harihareshwari humari sahayata awashya karengi." Indradev said.

"Mai kya karu isme ?" Amarsri fell in deep thinking.

"Devi, yeh sthiti toh mujhe samudramanthan ka yaad dilati hai....uss samaye Narayan ne humari sahayata ki thi, mohini avatar mai." Indradev said.

Listening to his words an idea popped in Amarsri's head and she smiled.

"Maarg mil gaya." Amarsri said.

Down here Mata Parvati agreed to give a boon of immortality to Chitra and Chitralekha.

"Devi, hume keval ek hi vardan chahiye." Chitra said.

"Humare patiyo ko cheeran-jeevi bana dijiye." Chitralekha said.

Mata Parvati smiled as she summoned a kalash with a divine nectar.

"Yeh lo, agar tumhare pati isse Suryast se pehle grahan kar lenge toh woh cheeranjeevi ho jayenge." Mata Parvati said giving it to them.

"Dhanyawaad Devi." Both the yakshinis said and Mata Parvati disappeared in thin air.

"Jaldi chalo, anyatha woh krodhit ho jayenge." Chitralekha said.

Although these Yakshinis fulfilled all the duties of a wife, their husbands didn't even considered them no more than the dust of their feet.

As they were walking outside the forest, they heard a sound from the lake. They decided to inspect it and were awestruck seeing the man in front of them.

His skin was as pale as moon, but was as bright as the sun. His hair was as darker than the darkest nights and were like waves of ocean, reaching a little below his broad shoulders.

And they almost fainted as the man turned his head and looked at them with his lotus-like brown eyes.

His face was brighter than a thousand suns, he had a reddish Lustre in his palms, lips and sole of the feet.

It seemed that everything about him is the definition of beauty, the bench mark to judge all beauty, the ultimate attractive arrangement of anything.

The man stood up and gave them a smile before walking away. His smile was so captivating that the yakshinis were completely bewildered. They were so enchanted that their mind had stopped working.

The Yakshinis couldn't help themselves but follow behind him. The man turned around and faced them, and they were completely frozen.

"Bolo ?" He asked in his deep, raspy voice, which sounded like blissful music to their ears.

"K-kaun hai aap ?" Chitra managed to ask.

"Amar." He said with a faint smile

Chitralekha could feel herself becoming weak and her legs gave up, but she didn't find herself on the ground but in Amar's arms.

"Tum thik toh ho ?" Amardev asked, worry evident in his voice.

"H-ha." Chitralekha managed to say.

"Mujhe nahi lagta." Amar said, picking her up bridal style.

By now Chitralekha was completely blushing as Amar took her inside the forest with Chitra following behind.

Amar placed Chitralekha under the shed of a tree, Chitra remembered to give the nectar to Vikat and Vighn or else they will get furious on them.

She unwillingly decided to leave but before she could take another step further her hand was caught by Amar.

"Jaane ki itni bhi kya jaldi hai ?" Amar asked.

Chitra could feel herself losing all the senses as the pot of nectar fell from her hand, hitting the ground and breaking. Seeing this Chitralekha panicked.

"Arey nahi ! Y-yeh toh gir gaya ! Ab woh d-dono atyant k-krodhit honge !" Chitralekha stuttered.

"Shant hojayo, tumhe koi kshati nahi pahuchayega." Amar said, and for reason both the yakshinis calmed down.

"Kshati toh pahuchegi !" A voice roared.

They turned their heads and saw Vikat and Vighn approaching them angrily. All of them stood up facing them.

"Amar ! Humari raksha kijiye." Chitra said.

"Yeh koi Amar nahi hai !" Vikat said.

"Yeh Harihareshwari hai !" Vighn said.
