The four sons of Dashrath, had returned after attaining knowledge from Kulguru Vasisth's Ashram. With their valour, bravery, wisdom and looks, they had charmed the entire Ayodhya even more.

As they had completed the duties of their Brahmacharya Ashram, the first stage of life, Dashrath was pondering that it won't be long before they enter the second stage, Grihasth aashram, the married life.

And in the same moment rushed in a royal guard, with a news of someone's arrival.

"Maharaj, aapse milne hetu Brahmarishi Vishwamitra padhare hai." The guard informed.

Dashrath was elated hearing the news, he himself rushed to the door and escorted the Brahmarishi to his royal court. After the customary courtesies of welcome, when everyone was seated, the Suryavanshi Emperor expressed his joy, after all Vishwamitra himself has graced his home with his arrival.

"Brahmarishi, aapka aagman aakaal ke samaye huyi varsha aur yogya patni se santan ki praapti ke samachaar jitna triptdayak hai. Bataye, mai aapki kya seva kar sakta hu ? Aapki manokamnaye purn karna mere liye paramsaubhagya ki baat hogi. Aapki iccha mere liye aadesh hai." Dashrath said.

Vishwamitra who was pleased with Dashrath's welcome and warm words, smiled.

"Rajan, mai aapko batata hu meri manokamna kya hai aur aasha karta hu ki aapke vachan satya ho. Maine ek bada yagya purn karna ka sankalp liya hai, kintu 2 shaktishaali Rakshas Marich aur Subahu ke karan mai yeh kar nahi paa raha. Woh mere yagya vedi mei kacche maas ke tukde aur haddi fek mere anushthaan ko baadhit karte hai. Aur baar baar mere yagya ko vifal karte hai." Vishwamitra said.

Dashrath and the rest of the people in his court nodded hearing the problem of the revered sage.

"Saksham hote huye bhi mai swayam unhe dandit nahi kar sakta kyuki krodh ke karya ka dushprabhav mere sankalp par padega. Iss liye mere yagya ki raksha karne hetu apne jyeshth putra Ram ko mere saath Siddhashram bhejo." Vishwamitra said.

At that Dashrath was taken aback, his eldest son Ram was everything to him. His aatma resided in Ram. Vishwamitra noticed his hesitation.

"Mere rakshan mei Ram, utna samarthyvaan toh hai hi ki unn dushto ko dand de sake. Iss karya hetu mai use aise kaushal aur shaktiya pradaan karunga jo iss sansaar mei uski kirti badhayenge. Rajan, mai Ram ki suraksha ka aashwaasan deta hu, iss liye chinta na karna. Ab Pita ke prem ke karan apne nirnaye ko dhundhla na hone de. Mantriyo se aur Kulguru Vasisth se mantrana kar, apna nirnaye mujhe bataye." Vishwamitra said.

For a few minutes Dashrath was dumbfounded. He gathered his thoughts and senses slowly.

"Brahmarishi, Ram toh keval ek balak hai jo abhi 16 varsh ka bhi nahi. Kadachit woh aise bhayavaye Rakshaso ka samna karne hetu taiyaar nahi hai. Ram ko aisi stithi mei daalna uchit na hoga. Mere paas prachand sena hai, aap unhe le jaaye. Chaahe toh mai bhi aapke saath chal sakta hu. Apni antim svaas tak unn do Rakshaso se ladunga. Kripiya bataye ki Marich aur Subahu hai kaun ?" Dashrath said.

"Marich aur Subahu, Ravan ke rakshan mei karya karte hai. Woh Ravan ko Rishi Pulatsya ka vanshaj hai, Rishi Vishrav ka putra hai, jo Brahmadev ke vardaan se krur aur ahankaari ho gaya hai. Jaha woh nahi jata, woh apne anuyayi Rakshaso ko bhejta hai atank machane hetu." Vishwamitra said.

Hearing the name of Ravan, Dashrath was unnerved. Which human had the capability to deal with him ? Dashrath worried.

"Ravan toh itna shaktishaali hai ki use toh mai bhi parast nahi kar sakta, use toh Devta bhi nahi yudh kar sakte. Kripiya mujh par aur mere putra par daya kijiye. Mai Ram ko unn Rakshaso se ladne nahi bhej sakta jo yamraj samaan hai. Mai aapke saath chalta hu Brahmrishi, vachan deta hu ki unme se ek ke saath apni sena sahit yudh karunga." Dashrath said.

Vishwamitra was not pleased at all, this type of fear and cowardice doesn't befit a Suryavanshi King who was the emperor of Bharatvarsh.

"Rajan, kya tumne vachan nahi diya tha ki tum woh karoge jo mai chaahunga ? Ab apne vachano se piche hat rahe ho ?" Vishwamitra said rather sarcastically.

Dashrath didn't say a word and just looked down, this tempted the anger of Vishwamitra even more.

"Raghukul ke vanshaj ko yeh shobha nahi deta Rajan ! Yadi tum sochte ho ki tum jo kar rahe ho woh uchit hai toh aisa hi sahi ! Mai jaise aya tha, waise hi chala jata hu. Apne jhoothe vachano ke saath tum prasann raho !" Vishwamitra said and stood up.

Sensing the fury of this revered Brahmarishi, Vasisth came forward and intervened.

"Dashrath, tum apne satya, satya-nishtha aur vachano ke palan hetu jaane jaate ho. Ab apne vachano se piche hat, swayam par kalank na lagaao. Vishwamitra ko mujhse adhik koi nahi jaanta. Inki tapasya prachand hai. Inka kaushal bhi prachand hai. Aisa koi bhi Astra nahi jiska gyaan inhe nahi. Inke sanrakshan mei Ram ko koi haani nahi hogi. Vishwamitra swayam unn Rakshaso ke naash hetu samarthyavaan hai. Kintu fir bhi, iss karya hetu Ram ko chaahte hai, swayam ke liye nahi apetu tumhare putra ke laabh ke liye. Ram ko jaane do." Vasisth said.

His words acted like a balm to Dashrath's agitated mind.

"Uchit hai. Dono Brahmarishi ki baat ek Rajarshi kaise taal sakta hai ? Keval Ram hi nahi, Lakshman ko bhi aap apne saath le jaaye. Yeh dono bhai sadev saath rehte hai." Dashrath said.

"Dhanya ho Rajan." Vishwamitra said.

"Brahmarishi Vasisth ne aisa kyu kaha ki Vishwamitra ko unse adhik koi nahi jaanta ?" Ganesh asked.

Mahadev smiled and then looked at Amarsri and Srinav, who too were there witnessing the Leela of Shri Ram with him.

"Yeh katha Akhand-Maharani se accha kaun sunayega ?" Mahadev said, causing Amarsri to look at him.

"Jiji, bataye na Vasisth ne aisa kyu kaha ?" Ganesh asked.

"Vasisth aur Vishwamitra ki kahani atyant purani hai. Jo shuru huyi thi, shatruta se. Yeh uss samaye ki baat hai jab Vishwamitra, Samrat Kaushik the." Amarsri said.
