WAIT! NO! I NEED TO ASK ABOUT BEING A MEDICINE CAT!

"Harekit? Are you ok? You looked very unsettled..." Ravenfoot rested his paw on her tail, which was twitching.

"No! I-I I mean, I meant to ask Petalstar, I had a really nice time with Skyspeck yesterday, and I wanted to ask if I could learn to be a medicine cat instead!?"

Ravenfoot was startled, his tail fluffed up at the end in surprise. Smokekit and Flintkit also looked shocked.

"I-" Ravenfoot stuttered.
"I mean, you? A medicine cat?"
"Yes!" Harekit huffed, "yes me! What's wrong with that?!"

He looked at her calmly. "Nothing!" He said slowly. "Just, maybe think this through a bit more, you have wanted to be a warrior your whole life! I just don't think you would be happy in the medicine den, that's all."
Harekit thought for a moment, then replied: "Ravenfoot, I KNOW I'll be happy! When I was in there, I felt calm, and untroubled and free. I want to feel that all the time... Please, I can't let this chance slip away, I need this!"

"Ok, I get that feeling..." Ravenfoot sighed. "I'll talk to Petalstar today and ask her about it, go get yourselves cleaned up!"

Harekit sat up straighter, Her eyes shining. "Thanks so much! I won't let you down!" She cried out, scampering off to the nursery.

"MUM!" She screamed, "MUM MUM MUM MUM GUESS WHAT!?" Harekit jumped up and down, prancing around with her eyes shut. When she opened them, she found herself in an empty nursery... Smokekit came trailing in, snorting with amusement. "Come on sis! I'm half blind and I could tell this place was empty!" He teased. Harekit stepped back, offended. "I was exited, ok? Gimme a break!"
"Whatever you say.... Bat!" Smokekit replied cheekily.
"IM NOT A-   Uh, whatever, come on, let's go find mum."
Harekit grumbled out of the nursery, stepping on her brothers tail on the way. Smokekit trailed after her, still snickering.

"SWIFTFLECK?" she called out, her voice ringing around the empty clearing. "SWIFTFLECK!?" she tried again. Still no response. She trotted up to Petalstar's den, hearing Ravenfoot in there as well. She pushed open the lichen curtain and stepped in quietly. "Hi Petalstar." She whispered, "Is mum meant to be on a patrol she didn't tell me about, I can't find her anywhere."  Petalstar looked down, startled at the news. "I- I'm not- she isn't meant to be... Why are you asking?" Harekit eyes filled with fear, with all the trouble in the clan recently, this could be bad news for her mother. "NO!" She cried out, leaping out of the den and running into the clearing. "I have to find her! Please! She might be in trouble!" Ravenfoot ran out of the den, chasing after her. "Harekit! Wait! Don't panic! She might have just gone for a walk, it happens all the time!" he reasoned. "But what if she's not just on a walk?!" Harekit screamed at him, just as her mother came busting into the clearing.
