Harekit, Smokekit and Flintkit trotted through the forest, every sense alert, scanning the area for even the slightest hint of prey."I knew this was a dumb idea." Harekit sniffed, turning up her muzzle at her brothers. "It's dark. All the prey is asleep, curled up in their warm, cosy nests, and we should be too." Smokekit sighed and shot her a glare, his one cloudy, sightless eye gleaming in the moonlight. "Hey, you were the one who wanted to come, we would have left you behind." He reminded her in his 'As- A- Matter- OF- Fact- I- Know- More - Than- You' Voice. "SHUT UP!" Harekit yelled, "YOU PRACTICALLY PRESSURED ME INTO COMING!" Smokekit whirled around to face her. "I so did NOT!" "Yes, you DID!" Harekit retorted. "DID NOT!" "DID S-" She cut off abruptly as Flintkit pounced on her. "Shhhhhhh!!!!!! None of the prey will come out now! You mouse-brains! Quit arguing or ill go home and tell Swiftfleck that you two dragged me out here and were planning to hunt for yourselves!"FINE!" Harekit cried. "I'm sorry ok?" Flintkit nodded, satisfied. He turned to Smokekit. "Whatever. Sorry." He muttered, annoyed. "Let's go catch a rabbit or something." The trio kept walking, complaining silently about each other. By dawn, none of them had found anything. They all wanted to stay out to catch something and were all too stubborn to return to camp empty-pawed, so it was extremely difficult to explain to the dawn patrol why they were out in the forest so early. "Because our apprentice ceremony is soon, we just needed to see the forest for ourselves before our mentors showed us, that way, we could be all: Yes, YES!!! I Knew that! This is so interesting and cool?" Flintkit smiled as Harekit finished her sob story. She was such a great lair, even he wanted to believe her! Ravenfoot smiled sweetly at her, always the sympathetic one."Just go clean yourselves up." He said, smiling
