As you headed towards the door, with your heavy heart held in Dan's hands, you built up enough strength to look back at him one last time in hopes of reconsideration, but little did you know his entire body was numb, along with his being.

From every last speckle of hair, down to his narrow toes you always teased him about, he was completely and utterly numb.

Your undeveloped thoughts were cloudy, not having a clue on what to do as of now.

Phil's head snapped towards the television once you reached the lounge, as you noticed him trying to find subtle interest in Pawn Stars. He failed miserably as his lanky legs stumbled towards you and clung himself onto you immediately.

"You're not leaving me, Y/N. You are what prevents this household from going into absolute chaos." Phil pleaded, your bones starting to crush from his tight hug. No matter what Phil did, he was always the one to lighten your mood and refresh your mind.

"It's Dan's demands, I have to respect him." You spoke dryly, it was hard having to admit that to yourself, but if it's what he wanted you would oblige.

"But you also have to remember this is our home too, we all pay rent therefore we all have a say. And with that I oppose of his statement." Phil held a stern look on his face, although it seemed more as a cry for help.

For the sake of Phil's happiness, you played along.

"Phil, this isn't court." The banter took your mind off of the damper sat upon you.

"It can be, I can go Judge Judy on him in the snap of my fingers."

You began to beam, laughter escaping your lips and enveloping him in another hug. He had a point, you knew Dan well enough that no matter what type of confrontation it is, he will do anything in his power to avoid it so he doesn't have to face them head on.

You understood completely, as it was one of your unhealthy habits as well. It was no wonder you were so meant for each other.

Meant.

Maybe he thought otherwise as of right now, but you weren't made for anyone else in this world. You began to think about life without Dan, how bland it would be. He made your life meaningful again, something others have lacked to do in the past and you weren't appreciating that enough.

No matter how furious you were, it gave you no right to lower his self esteem.

Although, it was hypocritical, you had no cares in the world, because all in all Daniel James Howell will never compare and he was your soulmate.

Just to put the cherry on top to your sudden enlightenment, Louise and Jack barged through the door.

Lately, they have been spending days on end together. At first it sounded suspicious, until you realized it was for one of Bertie Gilbert's films.

Phil wasn't keen about it either, but you knew he could never doubt Louise, or anyone close to him for that matter.

Louise seemed extra cheery today, her complexion itself radiating brightness.

"Honey we're home!" Jack sung, holding up an olive colored bottle filled with what you assumed was champagne.

"What's the occasion?" You suddenly became chirpy now that drinks were involved, climbing onto the island and resting your hands in your lap.

"Today marks the day that we are finished filming, now Jack & Bertie have to work their magic and edit it all, I know it is going to come out gorgeously." You could hear the happiness seep through Louise's voice, watching as she pecks Phil on the lips.

As Phil and Louise were in their own conversation, you took this time to catch up with Jack.

"So how has the honor of giving care to Squidward been?" You rolled your eyes at his comment as you let out a soft snort, fiddling with your fingers.

"Not so great if I'm going to be brutally honest." You said between your teeth, looking up at him with glossy eyes.

"Dear god, what now." Jack paused to sigh in exaggeration. "Louise! Could you come here please? I couldn't face this unruly soap opera by myself even if I tried." Jack wailed, throwing his hands up.

Louise spoke under her breath to Phil before departing, and sitting down next you with an arm draped over your shoulder.

"No need, Phil filled me in-" Louise's eyes grew wide as she began to laugh,

"What I meant to say was, he Philled me in."

You shook your head as her laughter echoed, the room beginning to chorus with laughter at the idiotic joke.

"Anyways, we're not going to talk about this at the moment because we are going out with the cast & crew for an enjoyable meal and I refuse to let it ruin my mood, I would like to not have to be serious for once in my life." She looked at you sympathetically as you nodded your head understandingly.

"She's a woman who knows what she wants." Jack looked towards Phil in amusement.

"I know, it's kind of intimidating." Phil shivered, smiling bashfully.

Before you could escape to your room for one last night, Louise's grip stopped you in your tracks. "I am not going to drag you down to his level, Y'N. Tonight I am going to take your mind off of your burden and get you hammered whether you like it or not."

She kissed the top of your head and rubbed your arm warmly, and with that all of your thoughts began to slip away.

Louise always had a resolution for every situation possible, and you thought to yourself that without her guidance, you would be stranded.

As you were on your way to change into something more appropriate for dinner instead of the sweats you were sporting, you overheard a conversation between Dan and Phil.

"Phil, I can't do it, I can barely hear her laugh without it reminding me that she's right." You heard faint sniffles, frowning at how the sight of that could be.

"Dan, you need to stop living in your mind and start living in your heart. All you're doing is beating yourself up repetitively, and if you continue to do that eventually she's going to give up." Phil tried to talk as smoothly as possible so it wouldn't trigger him, your ear pressing up against the frigid door.

"What have I become? I should have just told her the truth when I had the chance." His voice became muffled once his hands covered his mouth, soft spurs coming from Phil as he wept.

Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, shaking the statement off and darting towards your bedroom. You would not let your pesky mind irk you, not tonight at least.

Once you were done fishing in your closet for 20 minutes trying to find a decent outfit, you were ready for a distraction.

"Now chum, I know going to a fancy meal and splurging on alcohol isn't as ideal to you as it is for me right now, but you are going to enjoy yourself and that's a promise." Louise placed her hands on your shoulders as your eyes connected, chewing down on your lip before making a final ultimatum if you should mope around or not.

"My mouth is watering for a sangria, this is more than heavenly for me that it'll be in my system soon." You spoke breathily, Jack patting your back and chuckling.

"Atta girl, alcoholic consumption is a beautiful thing."

"It's very rude to leave out apple juice consumption!" Phil raised his index finger in objection as the four of you shared laughs.

How does Louise handle his purity so well?

You thought as you watched their hands twine together perfectly. Your gaze met your heels and the ocean colored granite flooring, isolating yourself from the conversation and focusing on one thing, Dan.

As Jack nudged your shoulder and gave you a look due to another one of Phil's naive comments, you knew the night was going to be an unforgettable one, thanks to the comic relief from your friends.

"Y/N!" Dan's voice vibrated throughout the thin walls of the corridor, looking among the three to make out their reactions. Their faces were pale, and well they seemed awestruck by something.

You turned around abruptly, curious as of what the fuss was about as your eyes locked on him from the opposite end of the hall,

Running?
