"Y/N, Is everything alright?" Lou confronted you immediately once she heard sniffles coming from the bathroom, knocking on the door gently.

Everything was awful.

Your feelings for Dan were so out of context and all over the place, you nearly had a panic attack.

3 times.

"I'm fine!" You called out, attempting to sound cheery but failed miserably.

You felt your chest growing heavier, wanting to let everything out and just sob for the next few days, but you knew that was ridiculous and would get you nowhere.

Your next crisis was leaving your dress for Zoe's party back at your flat, which was in 2 hours.

It was safe to say that you were entirely screwed.

"Y/N I'm not going to stop nagging until you open the damn door, please!" Louise whined, knocking on the door more obnoxiously this time.

You knew there was no way getting out of this, so you splashed water on your face to try and calm yourself and opened the door with the most forceful smile you could pull.

"Cut the smiling shit and tell me what's wrong." She scowled, giving you a light push so you were sat on the toilet seat.

You decided to oblige, starting to sob hysterically.

"L-Lou I'm going mad!" You whimpered, hiding your face in your hands.

Louise was at a loss for words, so she simply wrapped her arms around you and comforted you, which seemed to work. All you needed was someone to talk to.

"Tell me everything love." She pulled away and looked you in the eyes sincerely. Little did she know she was in for an earful.

Louise told you all the right things you needed to hear and promised she wouldn't tell anyone about Dan.

"Looks like I'm playing matchmaker!" Louise jumped up and down, clapping.

"Don't get your hopes up, he doesn't like me." You moped.

"Have you seen the way he looks at you?" Louise stared at you, dumbfounded.

"Um yeah, like I'm a disgusting mole rat that's been hibernating for 47 years." You responded obviously, causing her to pinch your arm.

You squealed, looking up at her in astonishment.

"What, whenever you call yourself remotely close to the u-g-l-y word, I'm going to pinch you." Louise said in confidence, making her statement clear.

You threw your head back and let out an over exaggerated cry for help, whilst she smirked victoriously.

"Now let's go get you a dress and a Dan Howell."

The dress you were wearing was way out of your comfort zone, but it was cute and Louise thought the tight fabric complimented you perfectly.

You were nearly late to Zoe's launch party due to you and Louise arguing over who was going to pay for the dress. After about 20 minutes of bickering, Louise yanked the dress out of your grasp and ran towards the checkout.

You grunted, typical.

Since you had 15 minutes to get to the party, you did your makeup in the car which caused you to mess up a few times, but ended up looking decent enough. Louise just watched you in amusement.

By the time you were at the party, you were distressed for many obvious reasons.

First, you were going to see Dan after brutally slamming the door in his face. You blocked that memory out until now, Good going Y/N!

Second, you didn't want anyone seeing you wear something so tight and revealing, but that's what everyone was wearing so that wasn't your main concern.

Third, you were still utterly confused about how you felt towards Dan. You knew you liked him, but you couldn't do anything about it. Ever. Which was extremely frustrating when you were face to face with him and his pink plump lips were in front of you, as if they were almost taunting you.

Liking Dan Howell was hell.

You were instantly greeted with loud music and partially sober people. You and Louise walked inside in sync, taking in the large amount of people. Some you recognized, some you didn't.

Louise turned to you, "I'm going to go talk to Tanya and Jim, will you be alright?" You nodded in assurance and smiled, mouthing for her to have fun.

This was going to be a long night.

You made your way over to the drinks, pouring yourself a glass of wine and downing it within seconds.

"Y/N!" Phil chirped, rushing towards you and embracing you.

"Oh, hey Phil." You laughed lightly, happy to finally have some company.

"So Daniel has been talking very highly of you nonstop since he got home last night and I'm starting to suspect that he has a little crush on you." Everything he said hit you in the face so quickly you could barely comprehend.

Dan was talking about you.. Nonstop?

Just thinking about it puts a smile on your face, but you couldn't be obvious so you just laughed, shaking him off.

"Phil don't be ridiculous, me and Dan are just friends." Very good friends, a friend you could barely control yourself over.

God this was a messed up situation.

"Are you sure about that, because-"

"Phil, I'm not gonna say anything, If you say a single word about this conversation then you're losing your cereal privileges." His face drained.

Every Sunday Phil would come over and eat our cereal because he's ran out by the end of the week and is too lazy to go to the supermarket to get more.

"That's not fair!" Phil wailed, throwing his arms up.

"Just for right now, please." You stared at him with glossy eyes and he nodded sympathetically, even though he desperately wanted to open his mouth.

"Alright, I'll talk to you later bud. Find me if you need anything." He patted your back before disappearing into the crowd.

You sighed in relief once he left, taking a seat and gulping down another glass of wine.

Someone sat down in the seat beside you, hoping to turn to see Dan, but unfortunately you were met with Marcus, the last person you wanted to see.

"What do you want." You snarl, not in the mood for whatever trouble he was about to bring.

"Ouch, someone's pissy." He laughed cockily, eyeing you up.

"Why are you so up your ass lately?" You snapped sharply, watching his lips twitch into a smirk.

"I know you have a thing for Howell."

How many people were going to confront you about this in one day? This was Zoe's day not yours!

"And why does it concern you?" You furrowed your eyebrows, not understanding his douche language.

"It concerns me because you're my friend and I don't want you to get hurt. That's why I was so irritated the other day at dinner." He spoke back just as rudely, taking you aback.

He thinks you're his friend?

"Marcus you've got to be out of your god damned mind if you think we're friends after you humiliated me in front of all of my friends!" Your voice overpowered his, causing him to curse under his breath.

"Listen to me, please?" He begged, you sitting there blankly.

"You deserve someone so much better than Dan Howell, he's a sarcastic dickhead who is the biggest failure I've ever met in my life." He spat, "And you are too if you end up with him." You could tell Marcus was intoxicated because when Zoe kicked him where no guy wants to be hit, he was knocked out cold.

"I am never exchanging words with that asshole again." She looked down at him, enraged, before pulling you into the bathroom.

"H-How much did you hear?" You managed to get out, a little upset that Marcus basically called you and Dan flops.

"Just the last part, he's been complaining to Alfie all night how you shouldn't be with Dan, he ended up just walking away from him it was that bad." She shook her head coldly, laughing.

Why did he care so much?

"He's been a real jerk lately, no one knows what's gotten into him but once he started to be rude to you that's when I've had it."

"You didn't have to do that, really." You try to convince her but you were secretly glad she did that. Marcus deserved everything that came to him.

"Oh don't even worry about it, I've been wanting to do that for months now." She smiled, pulling you in for a hug.

The bathroom door slightly creaked, watching Louise stumble towards you two, her drink spilling with every step she took.

"I'll take that chummy." Zoe giggled, taking the drink away from Louise and watching her sulk.

"So have you and Dan, you know yet?" Louise giggled, making hand motions.

You immediately shot daggers at her, making her gasp and clasping her hand over her mouth.

"I don't think I was supposed to say that." She muffled and Zoe just laughed, naive to the subject.

"Come on Louise, let's go have some fun." Zoe ushered her out of the room, looking back at you as if to ask if you were tagging along. You just held out your glass to her and took a swig, deciding that maybe it was best to stay in the bathroom for awhile longer.

You left your glass in the bathroom half full, not wanting to get stupidly tipsy. Drinking was never your thing, but a few drinks never hurt when you were stressed.

Walking out of the bathroom, your eyes shifted across the room. You and Louise weren't wrong when you said Zoe threw a good party, everything was set up perfectly.

"Please tell me you're sober." You heard the familiar voice you've been wanting to hear all night, pleading. Your heart was racing.

"I cannot find a single person who is sober and I just want to go home." Dan sounded exhausted.

You turned to face him and in no time his face was the replica of a tomato.

"Holy shit uh- m-maybe I'm the drunk one, am I seeing this correctly?" Dan let out an airy laugh. "Um you look amazing." He breathed out, his eyes basically popping out of his head at this point.

Your stomach twisted once you've gotten a good look at him, he was dressed in a blazer and dress shoes, which was rare for Dan.

All you knew was that he looked heavenly.

"Oh, thanks." You finally snapped out of your trance, smiling shyly and pushing a piece of hair behind your ear.

"So I'm guessing you're sober since you're still salty about slamming the door in my face last night for no apparent reason." Dan joked, a humorous grin on his face.

You let out a sarcastic laugh, grabbing a cupcake and smashing it against his cheek.

"Oh you've got to be kidding me!" He tutted, tossing the excess cupcake in the garbage and grabbing a cupcake, nearing towards you.

You backed away with each step he took, sneaking cupcakes along the way.

"Come here, Y/N." He sang with a devilish grin.

"Oh look, Delia Smith is here!" You tried your best to pull a surprised face and pointed, making a run for it.

"I don't see her anywhe-of course she would do this my soul is crushed." Dan walked towards you limply.

"Oh no, where on earth could she be?" Dan deadpanned once he reached your destination.

"Stay back. I'm armed." You growled, holding two cupcakes in each of your hands.

"What a coincidence, because so am I." Dan chuckled menacingly, holding the cupcakes in his hands with just as much intimidation.

The two of you circled around each other like hungry prey, waiting to see who was going to strike first.

You both grew tired and just ended up eating the cupcakes.

"You're making a huge mistake." You heard someone whisper in your ear, causing you to feel uneasy.

"Do you think we could go back to your place?" You blurted out of nowhere, not realizing what you said until you saw his facial expression.

"Well you could at least buy me dinner fi-."

"Dan. I'm about to pass out from sleep deprivation." You muttered, your eyes growing heavy and your knees starting to give out.

Dan quickly swept you off your feet, literally.

"I've got you, don't worry." And those were the last words you heard before you were fast asleep.
