*cough* spoiler

Music was blaring loudly throughout your hotel while you were in the process of getting ready for a huge dinner with yours and Louise's friends from YouTube. Zoe set it up, since her new book was coming out tomorrow and she didn't want anyone to miss her huge launch party. Her parties were amazing, so you and Louise couldn't resist.

The two of you then decided to have a girls weekend and stay in a hotel, which was luxurious. You rarely had opportunities like this a year ago, you've never been so genuinely happy in your life. You were already at 700k on YouTube, and it was ludicrous to you.

You thought of yourself as any other average person, but somehow you got lucky.

You were also anxious, because it's been two weeks since you've seen Dan last and you've become quite close within the time span. You would FaceTime nearly every night, (which was shocking that he gave up the Powerpuff Girls just to talk to you) and texted about 24 hours of the day, which made you tired half of the time but you could care less. You loved having Dan as a friend, he brought out the side of you that you didn't even know you had.

"C'mon chum, we're gonna be late!" Louise spoke eagerly, pacing.

"Lou the more you pace the slower I'm gonna be." You smirked, finishing off your last curl.

"You're the devil."

"I know, let's go." You held out your arm for her to link onto, then walked down the long corridor.

-

Once you were inside the restaurant, you immediately sensed that something terrible was going to happen, you were not welcomed in these kinds of settings.

Zoe called out for you and Louise, waving her arm and motioning you over. You weren't very close with Zoe but you were definitely friendly towards each other and got along well.

There were about 7 people here already and you were friends with everyone, so that was a relief.

You sat down after greeting everyone, listening to everyone talk about how excited they are about the book launch. Something didn't feel right though, and that's when you realized Dan and Phil weren't here.

"Hey, Zoe?" You gained the attention of the whole table which put pressure on you, but you managed to ignore it and stayed casual.

"Where's Dan and Phi-"

"Oh god Zoe we're so sorry we're late one of Phil's house plants got knocked over on the way out so we had to put all the soil back in and-" Dan put his hands on his knees, trying to catch his breath. Everyone sat there speechlessly.

Except for you and Louise of course, who was choking back laughter.

Dan's eyes wandered over to yours, bashfully smiling at you. He sat down next to you and whispered, "What a great way to start the evening."

"So Y/N, I loved your new video." Zoe spoke clearly so everyone could hear.

"Oh it was hilarious, you should tell story times more often." Caspar chimed in, the whole table agreeing.

You squirmed around in your seat, not used to all the attention that was put on you. Dan acknowledged your discomfort, already knowing how this conversation was going to end.

So typically the first thing that came out of your mouth was, "Thank you, but my content is the equivalence of a sad soccer mom."

.. What?

What in the actual fuck?

Dan was quietly choking on his bread, his eyes glued shut while everyone else either laughed out of sympathy or was trying not to laugh too hard. That's when you knew you lost all of the friendships you've been able to build up over the past year.

You glanced over at Louise and Phil who was giggling at you, trying not to cause a bigger scene than it already was. You had a panicked expression on your face and you knew that this night was transforming into a nightmare.

Louise could tell how strained you were, causing her to outburst, along with Dan.

To make matters worse you hit your head on the table dramatically, sending the plate flying.

"For fucks sake Y/N get ahold of yourself!" Marcus blurt out, staring at you in disbelief.

Perfect.

So there was the three of you, spluttering everywhere from laughing idiotically, while everyone else tried to be the mature ones about the situation and pretend that nothing happened.

Oh, but it did and there was no escape from it.

"Please remind me why we're around each other?" Dan heaved, looking at you with glassy eyes and a huge dorky grin across his face.

"Beats me." You wiped your eyes once you were able to control yourself.

"How embarrassing." Marcus scoffed to himself, but was heard by the whole table.

"Marcus remember that time at Vidcon?" Dan folded his hands on the table and cocked his head to the side.

"Well yeah, but-"

"No buts, shut the hell up and leave the socially inept girl alone." He snapped.

You stared at Dan in horror and waited for some sort of reaction.

"I don't think that was a very good idea." Dan suddenly became self conscious and gulped.

Louise started clapping, causing a few others to clap as well.

"Marcus we love you and all, but Y/N is new around here and you shouldn't be giving her such a hard time." Zoe defended, smiling sweetly at you.

You gave her a half smile, still mortified that you've made a complete fool out of yourself and it's only been an hour into dinner.

"Whatever." Marcus sniggered, sinking in his chair.

Marcus was so nice to you when you first met him, why was he suddenly so rude towards you?

Dan patted your back in comfort, before rising up from his seat.

"Let's go." Dan said blankly.

You assumed he was talking to Phil so you just sat there, unaware. It wasn't until he thumped you in the head when you knew he was talking to you.

"Oh-Me? Um okay." You rose from your seat, giving Louise a look of confusion.

"Wait, Dan! How am I supposed to get home?" Phil cried out.

"I'll take you home Phil don't worry about it, you're not too far away from the hotel. Run along you two." Louise shooed you off and winked at you, rolling your eyes back at her.

"Y/N!" Zoe exclaimed, calling you towards her.

You knelt down beside her and she whispered in your ear, "You're so into him. Try not to be so obvious next time love." She laughed and you sighed, trying to shake off what she just said.

"I don't lik-" She cut you off again.

"Oh and one more thing, I totally ship it."

You didn't know how to respond, so you just ruffled her hair a bit and left with Dan.

"Did I just witness you ruffling Zoe's hair?" Dan asked once you escaped the cringe-worthy atmosphere, casually draping his arm around you.

"Don't talk about it."
