happy international women's day!
I wanna talk quick about some women who inspire me, from celebrities to people I know.
first of all, Billie Eilish, she has inspired me for years and she's really shown what it is to be a woman which means being anything you fucking want. she opened up the idea that you can be a cis woman and also be masculine alongside being feminine. she's never apologized for being who she is and has raised her voice countless times for women and minorities.
Taylor Swift, if there is one person I could point to as an example of a major boss bitch, it would be Taylor. this woman has not stopped working since she started out. never letting anyone take away who she is. with an insanely successful career and never-ending amount of positivity and love, she's shown countless little girls that they can do whatever they want.
lizzo, who has made countless plus size women feel better in their bodies, has paved the way for plus size women everywhere and looks amazing doing it. lizzo has inspired me so much in the way that she loves herself and teaches others to love themselves.
Emma Watson, to wrap up the female celebrities I'm inspired by (although there are more), who better to talk about than Emma freaking Watson? a feminist down to her very core, a woman who has been the target of so many rude and hateful people but never ever stopped shining. she is a precious, wonderful, strong woman and she combines such grace with powerful intellect and never-ending kindness.
next is actually a couple of content creator's, Alyssa McKay and Gianna Christine, Alyssa has shown time and time again that you really can accomplish whatever you set your mind to and shown that you don't need a man to be successful. she's shown in her content that she's strong, successful and will figure out whatever she needs to while also showing her female followers to follow their passions even if it scares them at first.
while Gianna, she's such an intelligent, well rounded and kind human being. I love watching her content, she inspires me to learn and never depend on a man for anything.
now to people I know personally,
obviously my mom and my grandma, who taught me that tough times always pass, they showed me exactly how strong a woman can be, while being gentle and loving at the same time. I admire them greatly along with my sisters.
my sister in law, she's supported me relentlessly since I was first introduced to her when I was about four. she has an endless amount of love and compassion. she is a strong, intelligent, resilient, loving, compassionate woman and I couldn't be more proud to have her as a sister. she is one of the most understanding women I've ever met, she got me through my first period, she taught me how to shave my legs, and she taught me that being a woman does not mean being quiet and submissive. she's never stopped showing me support, especially when I had no other support. she'll sit and talk about the things that I like and encourage me to do what I want with my life, she's inspired me so much over the years.
my older niece, to explain a bit my family is a little odd. my parents had me when they were older and my oldest sister already had three kids by this time. so her oldest daughter is who I'm talking about. growing up I spent a lot of time at my sisters house and my niece and I would have sleepovers and do all sorts of stuff together. I always admire her for being her own woman, she's now twenty and is doing everything she's ever wanted. she's never quieted who she is for anyone and I hope that never changes. she was the first person to teach me that sexism exists even if she's not entirely feminist, she steered me into being the girls girl that I am today.
I've had lots of friends throughout the years, not a lot of them have lasted. but there are a few people who have never given up on me and have shown me what it is to be a true friend. mainly my best friends lqdiesfrst- and -oakSocks_108- who put up with all my shit and will literally talk to me for hours picking apart my feelings and what's going on in my head until I feel better. they've shown me how to be a girls girl, how to have someone's back, how to uplift your girlfriends, and how to show those friends how they deserve to be treated. I don't know where I'd be without these amazing girls.
now I'm gonna stop talking, even though there are so many other amazing women I could talk about.
I just wanna say happy international women's day, to every woman or female aligning person out there, you are beautiful, you are strong, you are amazing and talented and I hope you never lose sight of how fucking amazing you are. remember that women keep the world going around. I hope you follow your passions and never ever stop supporting other women of all races, religions and backgrounds.
also feel free to comment about a woman who inspires you!
