"And I am pleased to announce that this year, seniors will be allowed to wear baseball hats on Fridays." Principal Gutierrez explains but has no reactions except someone screaming 'Go Seniors'. "And now for the special introduction. This year, East High has a new new drama teacher-."

Just that sentence alone caught Soul's attention along with a few other students including the one and only Nini Salazar-Roberts.

"-With an announcement she swore, in writing, it would not cost too much money." Principal Gutierrez explained , looking at who Soul assumed was the new drama teacher.

The lady made her way to the podium along with Carlos, who Soul knows as 'The boy who deserves to be on Broadway'.

Soul, East High Junior

'I met Carlos over the summer last year while taking dance classes. I was surprised when he told me he also went to East High because I had never seen him before. I guess you can say we are somewhat friends. The only real friends I had stopped talking to me so that leaves my siblings.'

"Please hold your applause." The drama teacher says as she grabs what looks like a T-Shirt cannon. "Go Wildcats!"

She shot the cannon and it hit a boy with glasses not to far from me, as Soul tried not to laugh,

"My name is Ms. Jenn, and when I heard the school where High School Musical was shot has never staged a production of High School Musical, the musical, I was shocked as an actress, inspired as a director, and triggered as a millennial." Ms, Jenn spoke, which caused Soul to giggle.

"Did she just call herself a millennial?'' Soul asked, giggling, turning to Gina who had a big smile one her face as she shrugged.

"Auditions are tomorrow after school, this show can change your life and I'm saying this as a background dancer from the original movie." Ms. Jenn explains, "Third from the left, back row, red headband, and those are my real teeth. So..."

Ms. Jenn was cut off by Carlos as he tried to grab the mic, which brought an even bigger smile to Soul's face.

"Oh, and meet your student choreographer, Carlos." Ms. Jenn says lopping her arm on his, "You may know him as captain of the color guard. I know him as an unpaid, rising star."

Soul felt eyes on her and turned her head to see Ricky looking at her and gave her a small smile, but the bell suddenly rang and everyone started to pick up there stuff and started walking down the bleachers,

"I'll catch you around?" Gina asked, standing up, grabbing her things as she looked down at Soul with a smile.

"Yeah, sure." Soul said, nodding with a smile. "See you around."

As the two girls were the last two in the bleachers, Gina headed out of the gym as Soul headed towards a dancing Carlos.

Soul realized it was one of the routines they learned in class and she sat her stuff down beside the podium and started dancing with him.

"Hey Carlos." Soul said, causing him to finally look over to the girl, causing a giant smile to grow across his face.

"Soul, hi!" Carlos said, happily, as they turned in a circle, not noticing the teacher approaching them.

"Excuse me?" Mr. Mazzara called out, causing the duo to stop as they looked at him, "Is there somewhere you're supposed to be?"

"Broadway!" Carlos sassily spoke, looking him up and down, while Soul tried to hold back laughter.

Soul and Carlos then both parted ways, as Carlos said he needed to talk with Ms. Jenn and Soul needed to get to class before she was actually late.

It was finally lunch and Soul was already over the day. She's had 3 classes with Ricky so far and one of those classes also had Nini and Kourtney in it as well as Big Red but she still loved that kid to death..

Soul was standing in the cafeteria looking around for a familiar face to sit with when she heard her name being called as she saw it was Sam, sitting with Sarah and Sully.

Soul sighed in relief as she had a huge smile on her face as she quickly made her way to the table and sat between Sarah and Sully.

"I'm glad to see you guys." Soul said, sitting her tray on the table before sitting down, stuffing a fry in her mouth before she continued. "I don't think it would be cool to be seen sitting alone on your first day."

"You know what it means to be cool?" Sam joked with a slight chuckle.

"Whatever, you jerk!" Soul joked, throwing a fry at him teasingly.

"So Soul, I have a serious question?" Sarah said, turning to look at her sister with a face she does when she really wants something, "Will you please go to the audition with me?"

"Soul and a musical, I don't think so." Sully interjected, looking between me and Sarah.

"Sure." Soul spoke, shrugging while picking up another fry, as all of her siblings looked at me in disbelief. "What?"

"What happened with you saying 'you wouldn't be in another production at this school'?" Sam questioned, putting up finger quotations as he quoted her. "Because you know who."

"Well you know who doesn't own the theater, Sammy." Soul explained to her brother before turning her attention back to all three of them. "Besides, this is your last year here and it would be fun to do something together."

"Exactly! Sully, you and your friends can do backstage stuff like lighting and such." Sarah explained, causing the youngest to nod before she turned her attention to her twin. "And Sam you can..."

"You can..." Soul said, pretending to think while looking at him. "What can you do again?"

"Thanks, guys." Sam said, sarcastically with a slight smile. "But I'll come for moral support. Besides, I'll be way too busy with everything, especially training for the upcoming water polo season."

"Speaking of water polo." Soul said, causing all four of them to turn their heads as Sam's co-captain and fellow water polo member EJ called his name.
Waving Sam over, his eyes then locked with Soul's for a slight second as he sent a friendly smile before looking away.

It wasn't only that but he also had his arms wrapped around Nini as she was cuddled up to him as they stood in the middle of the cafeteria.

"I thought she was with Ricky?'' Sully questioned, as the three siblings watched the new couple, causing Sam to playfully roll his eyes as he packed his stuff up.

"They had like a break before summer, well that's what Ricky thought it was but Nini thought it was a break up. They had this argument and so Nini dumped him and now she's with EJ." Sarah explained.

"How do you even know that?" Sam and Soul asked in unison, wearing confused looks on their faces as they turned to their sister.

"Word got around." Sarah said, causing Soul to give her a 'yeah right' face. "Okay, Seb may have overheard their conversation this morning and told me."

"That makes two of us." Soul said, rolling her eyes as she once again felt eyes on her.

"Well I got to run. I'll see you guys after school." Sam said, swinging his bag over his shoulder.

"Don't forget I have robotics practice after school!" Sully said, causing Sam to nod. "So don't wait for me."

"Got it, little dude." Sam said, smiling at his brother as he ruffled his hair, turning around making his way towards EJ and his friend.

"So, what's going on with you and Ricky?" Sarah questioned, looking directly at Soul, causing the brunette girl to snap her attention, towards Sarah as she choked on her soda.

"Me and who now?" Soul asked, coughing, causing Sarah to give her a look. "There's nothing going on with us. Why do you ask?"

"So, why does he keep looking over here at you and then at Nini?" Sarah questioned, causing Soul to turn her head slightly towards the boys direction, causing Ricky's head quickly snap the other way.

"Well he tried to talk to me earlier, but I left before he got a chance to say anything." Soul explained, shrugging her shoulder, looking down at her food.

"Well, are you ever gonna talk to him again?" Sully asked as the three watched the Bowen boy storm out of the cafeteria.

Soul caught him glancing her way as she watched him leave.

Soul then turned her head back around only to find Nini already looking at her.

"I wouldn't even know what to say to him." Soul admitted, staring back at Nini before looking back at her siblings. "Or even her."
