Soul, who changed back into her dress, sat between Gina and Nini as they talked with Carlos, Ricky and Kaeden.
"Okay, who stole my boyfriend?" Carlos asked, throwing his arms up, looking around for Seb.
Everyone watched as Mr. Bowen backed the truck into the barn as Seb sat on back at a piano, dressed in a maroon suit, causing everyone to cheer.
"Carlos, hi." Seb spoke softly into the mic, causing Carlos to send the boy a small wave. Um, I think you know that there is nothing greater than the love we share for power ballads originally sung by iconic women. Yes, you're my boyfriend but you're also sorta my hero. Here's something I've never told you. That video from when you were 13 has 1,000 views, I would roughly say 100 of them were from me. I was 12 years old and hiding in my room, in every sense of that word. Uh, your post kinda went viral, semi viral for Utah. Um, I didn't know who you were, I barely knew who I was. I just knew that I felt inspired. So, I just kept hitting repeat. So, thank you, and happy birthday."
Soul felt a tear roll down her face as she quickly wiped it away as she smiled at Seb.
Seb began to play a song on the piano but quickly stopped, causing everyone to lightly chuckle as he turned back to face everyone once again, "Oh, I hope it's not disappointing as to the King of Fashion that I'm wearing the same suit that I wore to homecoming. My parents told me that I have to wear it till I grow out of it." Seb said, sending a somewhat forced smile, causing everyone to chuckle. "Ok, here it goes."
I can almost see it
That dream I'm dreamin', but
There's a voice inside my head sayin'
"You'll never reach it"
Every step I'm takin'
Every move I make feels lost with no direction
My faith is shaken
But I, I gotta keep tryin'
Gotta keep my head held high
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climb
The struggles I'm facin'
The chances I'm takin'
Somеtimes might knock me down, but
No, I'm not breakin'
I may not know it
But thеse are the moments
That I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep goin'
And I, I gotta be strong
Just keep pushin' on, 'cause
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side
It's the climb
Yeah-yeah, oh
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes you're gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waitin' on the other side, yeah
It's the climb, oh
Yeah, it's all about the climb
Ooh-ooh-ooh, yeah
It's the climb
Everyone watched as Carlos walked over to Seb as they hugged before they shared a few words before kissing.
"My heart," Soul said, placing her hand over her heart as she watched the two, wiping another tear away, causing Gina to grab the girl's hand, causing her to send her a smile before laying her head on her shoulder as Gina placed her head on Soul's.
"Speech!" Everyone cheered, causing Seb to give Carlos his microphone.
"I've never been accused of being speechless," Carlos said, surprised looking over at Seb, causing everyone to chuckle. "I can't thank you all enough for just getting me. Everybody should have people who just get them." That caused Soul to squeeze Gina's hand, causing the two to smile at each other.
"We love you, Carlos!" Soul exclaimed, blowing a kiss to the boy, causing him to smile at her.
"Love you!" Everyone else exclaimed.
"I've done a little research, and if this is, in fact, your quincenero, then he must choose his madrina," Seb said, taking the microphone from Carlos.
"One, two, three, not it!" Kourtney exclaimed, causing everyone to laugh. "I got enough jobs as it is already."
"I chose as my madrina..." Carlos said.
...
Soul was now standing with Carlos, Gina and Seb.
"Oh my gosh Seb that was absolutely incredible," Gina said, pulling the boy into a hug.
"Everything was amazing," Carlos said, looking at all three, causing them to smile at each other. "Thank you."
"I don't know about you guys but I had so much fun planning, even if it was a short amount of time," Soul said, causing the other two to nod. "I think we make a great team."
"Agreed," Gina and Seb say, causing them all to chuckle.
"So, Soul... Am I going to get my own personal performance from you," Carlos asked, causing them all to chuckle.
"I mean, it's not like I have a song a ready to preform," Soul said, sarcastically. "But I guess since you begged me."
Soul walked away from the three as she walked over grabbing a mic before making her way over to Mr. Mazarra.
"Hey, Mr. M, could you do me a favor?" Soul asked, causing the teacher to nod. "Could you kill the music when I give you a signal?"
"Will do Ms. Walker," Mr. Mazzara said, nodding at the girl, causing the girl to smile as she turned making her way onto the stage, quickly grabbing a mic before placing the mic on the stand as she took a seat on the stool, holding her guitar close, nodding to Mr. Mazarra causing him to kill the music.
"Hi," Soul said, causing everyone to turn and look at her, causing her to smile as she knew everyone could hear her. "I want to start off by saying happy birthday to our dear Carlos. Carlos when we met 2 years ago at dance, I never imagined having as strong of a bond that we have with anyone, but i'm glad that it's with you. You have helped me realize so much about myself that I never knew and you have honestly made me a better person. You've all made me a better person and I love you. When I first stepped foot into East High this year, I wasn't expecting anything to change. I thought I was going to have to do everything on my own again but everything changed. On the first day, I met someone who changed my life the most, I met my best friend... I met my soulmate... Gina, you have helped me through so much in such a small amount of time. You just get me and I am forever grateful for you and I love you so much. Then there was the musical... I honestly wasn't going to audition, you know because after my dad died I swore I would never step foot on a stage ever again but somehow Sarah convinced me to and I'm glad she did. Without it I wouldn't have met you amazing people. Miss Jenn, you believed in my talents when half of the time I wasn't believing in myself but you gave me a second chance at what I love. Kourt, Ash, Seb. You guys are absolutely amazing and unique in your own ways, I've never met anyone so confident, so passionate, and so caring as you three. Never change. Big Red, you have been one of my longest and most loyal friends and I know that if ever need help with anything you are my guy and I am your girl. Ricky, Nini... We've had our ups, our downs and everything in between. But this year really helped me realize that we became friends for a reason all those years ago... you guys are my family and that no matter what you guys are my forever, I love you both to death. EJ.. I don't know what I would do without you. You keep me sane, are my rock, my other half. I know that you'll always be here for me no matter the distance.. Forever and always. You guys are my family and I love you all to death."
"We love you too, Soul!" Everyone cheered, causing the girl to smile at everyone.
"Well, this is a song that I wrote for all of you," Soul said, smiling out into the crowd before she started strumming her guitar.
If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea
I'll sail the world to find you
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see
I'll be the light to guide you
We'll find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need
You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it, I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh, yeah
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh, yeah, yeah
If you tossin' and you're turnin' and you just can't fall asleep
I'll sing a song beside you
And if you ever forget how much you really mean to me
Every day I will remind you, oh
We'll find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need
You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it, I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh, yeah
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh, yeah, yeah
You'll always have my shoulder when you cry
I'll never let go, never say goodbye
You know
You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh, yeah
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh
You can count on me 'cause I can count on you
...
"That was absolutely amazing," EJ said smiling, pointing the camera at the girl who was sitting in front of him. "How are you feeling?"
"Thanks, EJ," Soul said, sending the boy a smile of appreciation. "Um, yeah, I feel great, obviously everyone enjoyed the song and I'm really glad because it was one of the more meaningful songs I have written, so yeah. It meant a lot." Soul said, nodding her head as they both smiled at each other. "So am I supposed to just give a shout out to Carlos or?"
"Uh, yeah, let me just hit record," EJ said, looking down at the camera as he messed with as the sound of beep came from the camera.
"Wait, you weren't recording that?" Soul asked, causing the boy to shake his head. "That was just you asking?"
"Is that okay?" EJ asked, causing the girl to send him a smile as she nodded.
"Of course... So Carlos, where do I even begin..." Soul said, looking back at the camera as EJ watched the girl with a smile from behind the camera.
