Everyone started their morning with a morning practice in the barn as they entered they were greeted with Val, Carlos and EJ standing beside a board.

"What's going on?" Gina whispered over to Soul, causing her to silently shrug.

"Morning, guys." EJ said, greeting the cast, causing everyone to go quiet. "Come on in. We don't have much time."

"Take a seat." Val said, holding her arms out towards the board.

"Did EJ tell you what this was about?" Kourtney questioned, standing on the other side of Gina.

"It seems like there's a lot of thing's EJ isn't telling me." Soul said, speaking softly, avoiding looking in the direction of Val or EJ. "But maybe you could ask Val. Seems like he trusts her a lot more these days."

"She's kidding. Don't ask Val." Gina said, sending Kourtney a smile as she wrapped her arm around her best friend, leading her to a seat.

"Can we have everyone's attention, please." Carlos called, causing everyone to quickly find a seat.

"Thanks for coming in early, guys." EJ said. "We've been up all night."

"Look, this better be good, because here, it's still last night." Kourtney said, pointing at her head.

"We've been working on a plan to save the show and give Corbin and that Channing guy the reality show style juice that they want." EJ explained.

"Sorry. Save the show?" Gina asked.

"He just wants a little more excitement from us. A little more..." EJ said, causing Carlos to quickly cut him off.

"He thinks we're boring." Carlos exclaimed, causing almost everyone to gasp. "He's missing our rehearsal today to scout out the kids at Deep Lake Camp in Temecula. But not to worry, because we have a plan. And it starts with five little letters."

"Allow me." Val said, moving the board to reveal another one that read the R.C.O.S.L.

"Watch what happens, fam." Carlos said, excitedly.

"Ri-cos-il?" Gina asked, confused sounding the letters out.

"Hun, I think it's an acronym." Soul whispered to the girl beside her.

"No. it's The Real Campers of Shallow Lake." Carlos explained, pointing at each letter, causing Soul to nod. "The franchise I was always destined to join. I mean, you were."

"Look, it's easy." EJ said. "You know how normally we act like regular people, we pick up on social cues, care about our feelings?"

"Do we?" Gina said, letting out a laugh, causing Soul to quickly elbow her, causing them to give each other a look. "What?"

"Yes, we do." EJ said, sounding confused, looking between the duo as they looked back to the front. "But now that's over."

"Because the key to any great reality show is the three Bs. Bombshells, betrayals and -slaps." Carlos said, causing everyone to gasp.

"Can he say that?" Gina questioned.

"Look, I love the housewives as much as anyone, but how are we gonna pull this off when we're real students who don't have millions to burn and kids to blame?" Kourtney questioned.

"Can I be Team Kourtney on this?" Jet questioned, raising his hand from behind the girl.
"No. Here's what we're doing." Carlos immediately said, revealing a board with question marks and titles. "There's the judgy one, the jilted ex, the one with the dark past, the crier, the one with the catchphrase, the one who's here for the wrong reasons, the shrink, the bad boy and the instigator."

"Is this all really necessary?" Soul questioned, looking from the board to her friend standing right beside it.

"Mmm-hmm. It's a formula and the formula works." Val answered, looking at Soul but she never looked back as she kept her eyes locked on Carlos, causing Val to slowly look away from the girl.

"Each of you has a role to play today." Carlos explained.

"I'm sorry. Carlos, did you cast this?" Maddox questioned from her spot right behind Soul, causing the boy to chuckle.

"I'm back, baby." Carlos said, happily, causing Soul to smile.

"Isn't this a little tawdry?" Kourtney asked.

"Was gonna say the same thing." Jet said, causing Soul to turn and give her cousin a look. "What?"

"And that's why you, Kourt, get to be the judgy one." Carlos explained, causing everyone to softly clap.

"But do we want to look like villains on TV?" Ricky questioned.

"I knew you or Soul would want to go sympathetic, which is why you get to be the jilted ex." Carlos explained, causing Val to slap Ricky's picture on the board, causing some to gasp.

"Oh, good." Ricky said.

"Ashlyn, you've got a dark past."

"I'm dying. Yes." Ashlyn said, quickly agreeing. "Guys this is going to be fun."

"Gadget, you're the crier." Carlos said, causing Soul to snicker, causing the girl behind her to hit her arm with a smile. "Gina.."

"Ooh, I think we've already established that I can't improvise." Gina said, cutting the boy off.

"Yeah, she's awful." Soul said, jokingly.

"I don't even have a comeback for that because I can't improvise." Gina said, looking from Soul to Carlos.

"I got you, boo. You're the one with the catchphrase." Carlos explained. "Just say the same thing all the time in different ways."

"Okay. What's my phrase?"

"Don't get me started." EJ said.

"And you shouldn't." Gina said.

"EJ's here for the wrong reasons, Val's the shrink, Jets the bad boy, and I will be the instigator." Carlos explained, slapping the last picture on the board, causing Gina to share a look with Soul.

"I thought we were stretching for these parts." Kourtney says jokingly.

"Good. I want a lot of that today." Carlos said.

"And Soul will be..." Gina questioned, trailing off as Soul looked at the board that had no spots left.

"Clearly not participating." Soul said, shifting her focus to Carlos.

"We thought it would be good to have someone still be themselves and since you're already technically an overnight popstar you would be that person." Val explained, causing Carlos and EJ to nod.

"Great." Soul said, forcing a smile.

"Besides, Corbin loves you." EJ said, smirking at the girl, causing her to give him half a smile before looking back to Carlos, causing him to look at her confused.

"Okay. I know that was a lot, but has everyone got all that?" Carlos questioned, causing some to nod as no one said a thing as some began standing up. "Good, 'cause there's more. We have four goals for the day. Someone needs to run out of here crying, someone needs to get slapped, someone needs to throw a drink at someone, and someone needs to get caught on a hot mic saying something scandalous. Any questions?"

"Many questions." Gina said, raising her hand.

"This is gonna put our documentary on the map." Ashyln said. "Get into it, guys."
"Um, Channing's coming in 15." Val spoke to Carlos.

"Thanks, Val. Always helpful to get your behind-the-scenes take." Gina said.

"Gina!" Soul said, causing Val to look at the duo confused.

"Start getting into character." Carlos ushered the group. "There's no time to lose, and many, many People's Choice Awards to gain. Come on."

...

"Well this looks super fake." Carlos said, approaching EJ and Ricky on stage as they practiced the fake slap.

"I'm open to notes." Ricky said, causing EJ to agree. "I can hit him for real."

"Thank you. NO." Carlos said, stopping Ricky as he held his hand up, causing EJ to cower back. "Safety first. Think of it as actors. Try this. EJ you've stolen the woman Ricky loves."

"Do you mean Soul?" Ricky questioned, causing the three to look over at the girl as she was laughing with Gina on the side stage. "Because she's EJ's girlfriend, so he stole her. Would've stolen her, in a fake scenario."

"Yeah I like it." EJ agreed. "You know you've held the torch for her for years and sometimes in this fake scenario, you even pretend to you know like her even though you're still in love with your ex and now she's actually in love with me here at camp and-"

The three go silent for a moment after Ricky actually slapped EJ across the face as they stood in shock.

"Did I do it right?" Ricky questioned.

"It's pretty convincing. Yeah?" EJ said, looking over to Carlos.

"Found my motivation." Ricky said, causing EJ to silently nod. "Again?"

While EJ and Ricky were dealing with their 'anger' onstage, Ashlyn was going over her script backstage when she was approached by Maddox.

"Okay. Is it just me or should Carlos have given 'fake crier' to an actor?" Maddox said, gaining the girl's attention. "Someone like Soul. Did you know when we were kids she could always cry on cue."

"Interesting. It's actually way easier than you think." Ashlyn asked. "Do you have a pet who died?"

"Just my dog Joe-Jack, but he's still alive." Maddox said, smiling at the thought of her dog back home.

"Oh, you didn't hear?" Ashlyn said, sounding sad. "We got a call in the office, there's been a terrible accident."

"Oh no, what happened? It wasn't Joe-Jack was it?" Soul asked, sounding very sad as she approached the two with Carlos beside her.

"Can I be the slapper?" Maddox said, sounding serious looking over at Carlos.

"We're working out the kinks." Ashlyn explained.

"There's no time. Just work on your back stories." Carlos said. "Try this. The two of you are in love with the same boy. Oh, Jet. We'll make it Jet."

That caused Soul to snort as she laughed, causing Maddox held up her finger at Carlos, "Oh, god, no."

"Oh, gosh, yes." Ashlyn said. "It totally makes sense that I, the girl with the dark past, would be in love with the bad boy."

"Jet, come here." Carlos called the boy over, causing Maddox to turn her back to the group. "Do you know Maddox? She's hot for you."

That caused both Soul and Jet to laugh as Maddox quickly closed her script, turning back to the group.

"Okay." Jet said, laughing.

"But you, Jet, you have the hots for Kourtney." Carlos said, pointing at the girl he was just talking to.

"Well, isn't that just something, Jetski." Soul said, smirking at the boy. "You're 'acting' like you have a crush on Kourt."

"Stay out of this, Soul surfer." Jet said, causing the girl to throw her hands up.

Before had a chance to say anything, EJ came rushing through the stage door, gaining all of their attention

"Hey, Channing's here." EJ said in a high pitched voice."Breathe, buddy." Soul said, placing her hand on his arm as Carlos let out weird breathes.

"Let's blow him away." Carlos said, quickly stop the weird breathing, quickly following after EJ with Ashlyn right behind him.

Soul took one last look between Jet and Maddox, causing her to laugh again.
"We get it, it's funny." Maddox said, rolling her eyes.

"No, it's absolutely hilarious." Soul said, chuckling, following after Carlos and Ashlyn, leaving Maddox and Jet before Maddox quickly stormed away.

"Maddie." Jet called after the girl.

"Okay. Let's get the rest of the Care Bears and get this lovefest over with, huh?" Channing said, pulling out his camera as he turned to the group as they gathered around and on the stage.

"I think you're gonna be pleasantly surprised today." EJ said.

"I haven't been pleasantly surprised since Survivor: Nicaragua." Channing explained.

"Everyone give a warm welcome to Channing." EJ announced turning to the group, only clapping before being cut off by the cameraman.

"Pretend I'm not here." Channing said.
"No welcome for Channing." EJ quickly said. "Alex, Emmy, Soul, places for A Little Bit of You, kill the light, please."
Soul quickly made her way on stage behind Alex and Emmy as the spotlight shined on her.
"You know, there's a recipe for making a proper snowman." Young Elsa said.
"Really?" Young Anna questioned.

A little bit of you
A little bit of me
A part that loves to dream
A part that swings from a tree

A little like me
A little like you
A part that's nice
A part that's naughty, too

A loyal friend who is there no matter what
A big round belly
And a big, bouncy butt

Who'll love warm hugs and the bright sunlight
And you'll really love the summer
But they'll melt
Yeah, you're right
Oh! So we'll build em back together
Yes, together, that's the key
'Cause he's a little bit of you and me

"Mmm-mmm. Okay, stop, stop. Turn on the lights." Carlos called, walking onto the stage. "Uh, I'm sorry, is this supposed to be fake snow? Not to instigate anything here, but this looks like sea salt."
"Did I take the wrong prop?" Emmy questioned, sounding embarrassed.
"No, you -" Soul started but was cut off by Maddox.
"I tried my best, okay?" Maddox said, pretending to cry.
"You guys, her head isn't a funnel. Can we try for her feet next time?" Carlos said.
"Are we being punked?" Alex questioned, looking over to Emmy.
"No, no, no. How about we take a break and try another scene." Soul said, looking over to Carlos with a confused look as she guided Emmy and Alex to the side stage as Gina and Kourtney took the stage.
Soul sat side stage watching the duo and let's just say she was beyond stressed.

🎥
Soul; First Year Camper
Don't get me wrong I love Carlos and his plans
are usually the answer to almost everything. But this... this just seems forced and out of character for everyone.
🎥

Gina ended up throwing a drink at Kourtney after their 'fight.'

Jet attempted to play the role of the bad boy but ended up failing.

Maddox was the worst fake crier Soul had ever seen.

Soul steered clear of EJ all day.

Kourtney and Carlos seemed to have been the only ones to have their roles down.

Then finally Ricky and Gina's duet was definitely... something.

Everyone stood huddled up in a group, watching Channing put his equipment away as they waited in anticipation.

"Well, I underestimated you guys." Channing said, swinging his bag over his shoulder, turning his focus to the cast. "What a mess. And I mean a mess in an award-winning way. You were terrified. You guys should've seen your faces. That was good. All right, Channing out."

Everyone stood still and quiet, waiting for him to fully leave the barn before Carlos turned and faced the group.

"Congratulations, everyone! We did it." Carlos exclaimed, causing everyone to clap and cheer.

"Thanks for being our fearless leader, Carlos. You have a very weird gift." Val said, causing the boy to bow as everyone cheered for him.

"Carlos! Carlos! Carlos!"

"Children." Channing said, quickly making his way back into the barn, gaining everyone's attention. "I forgot about the group photo. Can't do publicity at the Mouse House without a super fierce cast pic. Am I right? It's Frozen time."

Everyone was given some type of a prop as Soul sat in between Jet and Maddox as Ricky and Gina made their way into the barn.

"All right, smile, guys. We're almost home." EJ said, happily to the group as everyone began smiling for the picture.

"Are you talking home as in Salt Lake or St. Louis?" Soul questioned, finally speaking up, glancing over at the boy before quickly looking back at Channing as she faked a smile.

"Wait, what?" EJ questioned, looking over at his girlfriend.

"Oh, are you confused too? Well join the club, babe." Soul said, staring straight ahead.

"What's this about St. Louis?" Channing questioned, looking at EJ in interest.

"Uh... it's where the World's Fair was held in 1904. It's a great city." EJ said.

"Keep digging yourself a deeper hole, Caswell." Gina spoke from behind the boy.

"Can we talk about this later?" EJ said, looking over at Soul as she just ignored him.

"Smile! Harder, harder. Like you're angry happy. Yeah." Channing called out, snapping a bunch of pictures of the group. "Thanks again. Great day, you guys. The Bleu Man's gonna be so happy. I can call him that 'cause we're close. Peace."

"Well that couldn't have gone... longer." Ashlyn said, standing up once he left along with almost everyone else.

"I, for one, am looking forward to being reviled by America." Ricky announced standing up from his spot on the stage, leaving Soul, Maddox and Jet.

"You know, a simple thank you would do the trick." Carlos said.

"Guys, can we just stop getting worked up over this, okay?" Kourtney said, holding her arms out. "If we can't pull this summer together, then we're gonna have bigger problems than just labels on a poster. I gotta be Elsa by the end of the week, and if I can't land that high E flat, then... then they're gonna edit me out of the show."

"Okay, do you wanna take it down like 1,000?" Carlos questioned. "Being this anxious all the time is literally bad for your skin."

"Oh, I'm sorry. What was that word?" Kourtney asked.

"Anxious?" Carlos asked, sounding confused.

"Did you tell him what my mom..." Kourtney said, turning to Gina.

"Wait." Gina said, looking between the two.

"Told me what?" Carlos asked.

"Guys, this is all a natural response to a day of high tensions and intense emotions, so let's just walk it off, take a deep breath..." Val said.

"Val, maybe now's not the time for your psychoanalysis." Ashlyn said, cutting her off. "Read the room."

"In my experience, Val prefers to read letters that aren't for her." Gina said as Soul watched as Maddox made her way from beside her to Ashlyn.

The two were whispering before Ashyln got loud as she talked about her sexuality as Soul watched Jet make his way over to his sister, quickly following after him.

"Can you just once stop telling everyone who they are and how they should be?" Jet questioned, looking directly at Maddox.

"Oh, you're talking to me now?" Maddox said, turning to him sounding angry.

"Guys. Now isn't the time or place." Soul said, stepping between them, giving them both a look.

"Forget it. You're just gonna yell." Jet said, turning to walk away.

"Yeah, that's right, Jet." Maddox called, causing him to stop and turn around. "Make me the bad guy, once again."

"Come on Maddie, do you really want to do this now?" Soul whispered to her cousin, causing Maddox to look her in her eyes.

"Did I miss an episode of our reality show?" Ricky said, sounding confused, gaining everyone's attention, causing Maddox to look away from Soul. "Did these two know each other before camp?"

"Look, Maddie, I'm here, aren't I? I'm trying." Jet exclaimed.

"Yeah, only because you were forced to come here after you literally got expelled from school." Maddox said.

"Wait, what?" Soul said, looking over at Jet, causing him to look down.

"Or are we just pretending that didn't happen?" Maddox questioned.

"You have never let me explain that." Jet said.

"Okay, then why don't you also explain why you didn't show up to my 15th birthday party but Soul made it and she lives so far away?" Maddox questioned. "Explain why I lose all of my confidence when you're around me, and heck. Jet, why don't you explain why you told Mom and Dad about me and Madison when you found her texts on my phone? Explain that."

"Guys." Soul called, barely above a whisper as she walked up to the girl, placing a hand on her shoulder, looking between the two as Jet quickly turned away. "Jet, wait."

"Mom and... Wait. what?" Ashlyn said, trying to put two and two together as Maddox quickly turned around, making her way past Soul.

"Maddie!" Soul called, Maddox just stormed out of the room, causing Soul to let out a sigh.

"I have done a terrible thing." Carlos said.

"I need to sit down. I need to lie down." Ricky said, laying across the stage.

"I guess there are a lot of secrets floating around." Gina said, causing EJ to look from her quickly over to Soul as he made his way over to her.

"EJ..." Soul said, trailing off.

"Whatever you saw in the letter, it's not what it looks like." EJ said.

"St. Louis, EJ? You let me think we were gonna have not only the rest of this summer but my senior year together." Soul said, sounding hurt, looking the boy in the eye.

"And we will." EJ said. "My dad is trying to make me go to Caswell Success School, but I'm going to change his mind. I know if he sees that I can make this docuseries a success, he'll let up on the whole training thing."

"Do you really think that?" Soul asked.

Even if he doesn't, I'm not leaving Salt Lake without a fight." EJ said.

"Then why didn't you just tell me about the letter?" Soul asked. "I don't want to feel like you're keeping things from me, E."

"Can I be Team Soul on this?" Val said, causing the couple to look over at the blonde girl and she shrugged her shoulders.

"Elton John Caswell, I am so disappointed in you." Ashlyn said.

"Wait. that's what 'EJ' stands for?" Carlos said in disbelief.

"Huh, Rocket Man." Kourtney and Gina spoke together.

"Dad's favorite song." Soul muttered to herself.

"I always assumed you were, like, Eric Junior." Carlos admits.

"My dad's name is Cash." EJ said, sounding confused.

"That is on-brand." Carlos said, nodding his head.

"You guys. Jet and Maddox are siblings?!" Ricky exclaimed, sitting up on stage, slowly looking over towards Soul. "That means..."

Soul shook her head, looking back over at EJ as he already had his eyes focused on her.

"Soul, please. I didn't... I just..." EJ said, trying to find his words.

"You're just acting like the old version of yourself." Soul said, sending him a small smile. "I don't want to feel like I'm holding you back from things EJ and I definitely don't want to feel like I'm just someone's burden."

"Soul..." EJ said, but the girl continued walking until she was out of the barn.
As Soul made her way down a path the first thing she saw was a sad Jet.

"Jet Ski." Soul said, sadly, taking a seat beside the boy, causing him to let out a breath as she placed her hand on his back.
"Soul Surfer." Jet said, causing the duo to both chuckle lightly. "Look-"

"It's okay, you don't need to explain." Soul said, shaking her head, causing him to look over at her. "You okay? What are you running from Jet?"

"Honestly?" Jet asked, causing the girl to nod as he let out a sigh. "No. Let's just say Maddie doesn't think I was playing a role today. I've been nothing but a bad guy in her eyes for such a long time and I just wish that I could go back and do it all over again. But right this time because it's eating me up. I don't know. It's hard to describe."

"You mean all that guilt and the reruns of how hurt she was when she found out." Soul asked, looking forward as Jet looked over at her. "I went through kind of a similar thing with Sarah. There was this guy and she thought she was in love with him and when she found out that I was talking to him by someone else she iced me out for weeks. I hated the guy who told her for a while but we ended up bouncing back from it. Wanna know why?"

"Why?" Jet asked.

"Because I realized that he was family, even though we have this weird unspoken history between us he was always my best friend first. He helped me through some good and bad moments in my life even though he caused some himself." Soul said, letting out a light chuckle, placing her hand on his. "What I'm trying say is, at the end of day you and Mads are brother and sister, you are going to figure it out. You guys are stronger than you know."

"I wouldn't even know where to start." Jet admits.

"I know I'm gonna sound like a major theater kid but sometimes it's easier to write our emotions down and then sing them." Soul said. "Think about it as if you're talking directly to Maddox and speak from the heart, it always helps."

"Yeah, well I'm not some theater kid." Jet said.

"Yeah, I know." Soul said, sending the boy a soft smile, placing her head on his shoulder.

...

Later that night, Soul sat on the edge of the stage in the barn with her guitar sitting in her lap, softly strumming it with her song book opened next to it with a recorder as she quietly sang to herself.

Oh, 'cause every day
I look at you, but that's never enough for you

"No." Soul said, shaking her head, crossing some of the words out before strumming the guitar again.

Oh, 'cause every time
You look at me, it's never enough for you

"That's good." Soul mumbled, writing it down as the sound of the door closing filled the room, causing her to look up seeing Ricky.

"Hi." Ricky said, sending a small wave with a small smile.

"Hey." Soul said, holding onto her guitar as the boy took a seat beside her as she watched him move across the room.

"What are you up to?" Ricky asked, looking at the songbook and recorder sitting between the two.

"Homework." Soul said, causing the boy to nod his head. "No, uh, my producer Jamie thinks it would be good for me to try and write at least a song once a week. You know to help me get into that mindset for after high school."

"Interesting." Ricky said, nodding his head. "He's Gina's brother right?"

"Mhm." Soul said, nodding her head. "He's like 6 or so years older than her."

"Interesting." Ricky said, causing Soul to give him a weird look. "Hey, can I talk to you about something?"

"Let me guess you and Gina?" Soul said, strumming her guitar, not even looking at the boy. "It's obvious you both have this unspoken attraction to one another."

"No." Ricky said, quickly, shaking his head, causing Soul to lift her eyebrow as she looked over at him with a small smirk. "I mean maybe... yeah, actually."

"Well, I don't think I'm the best person to talk to about your love life or whatever this thing is you and Gina have going on." Soul said, sending a small smile. "I mean can't you talk to EJ, aren't you EJ like bros or something or even Carlos he's a great listener."

"Yeah, I mean they're great but they're not you. I mean they're not Ricky and Soul." Ricky said, letting out a light laugh, causing the girl to look up at him. "You've always known what to say to me when we were younger even if I didn't want to hear it but I definitely needed it."

"Exactly Ricky, we were younger than, we've grown up since then. We've been through a lot and what happened between us... I can't look at you as the same little boy I met in Kindergarten. I mean we never talked about it and just moved on as if none of it ever happened. So-" Soul said, getting cut off by the boy.

"Then let's talk about it." Ricky said, turning to face the girl on the stage, wrapping his arms around his legs.

"What?" Soul said, looking at him in utter shock.

"Look, I know I messed up a lot with you. Okay, I admit that but you and Big Red have been the only two friends who actually understands me and just gets it. So if us talking about it or me sitting and listening helps up step back towards there I'm all ears." Ricky started.

"Ricky..." Soul said, shaking her head.

"No, Soul really hit me with everything you got." Ricky said. "Cause I really do feel really bad, you know from ghosting you and leading you on both times. I admit I did have some feelings for you back then because you're amazing, you really are but what me and Nini had... I don't know how to describe it... I didn't mean to hurt you and I could never express how sorry I really am... but if you yelling, talking, singing or whatever at me, helps me gain any of your trust back then have at me."

"You sure?" Soul asked after a minute of silence, looking at the boy unsure, causing the boy to nod.

"Not if it's harsh like the song in the woods." Ricky joked, causing them both to chuckle lightly. "Let's hear it."

"Okay..." Soul said, trailing off, giving the boy one more look before she began strumming her guitar.

There was a girl with the toughest of skin
She made sure that everyone around knew that she wasn't sensitive
She walked around
Let nobody in
Thought if she'd never gave her heart away, it'd never end up broken

But boy x, across the street, oh, he was one of a kind
Made her fall in love with only just a look in her eyes
When they wandered off to someone еlse's for the first time
Shе cried and cried and cried

Next time you move on
Like I know you do
Tell me you won't treat her like you did with me and you
When she falls hard
And a little too soon
Promise you won't promise things you know just won't come true
And don't you dare make her feel like she's the only thing you're seeing, no
Don't do that stupid thing with your eyes, unless you mean it
When you get bored, like you always do
Tell me that you'll let her go before you look for someone new

Yeah, this very girl
Brown eyes and blonde ends
Know she never wasted time but time with him just felt so different
She wrote him songs
Just to watch him listening
A hundred songs, a couple months in
No, she never saw it comin'

Next time boy x, across the street, she never see him again
She really thought he was forever then forever was dead
Left her holdin' up the pieces of her heart by a thread
He left her there to die

Next time you move on
Like I know you do
Tell me you won't treat her like you did with me and you
When she falls hard
And a little too soon
Promise you won't promise things you know just won't come true
And don't you dare make her feel like she's the only thing you're seeing, no
Don't do that stupid thing with your eyes, unless you mean it
When you get bored, like you always do
Tell me that you'll let her go before you look for someone new

There was a girl
Not too different from me
She thought she found the world
But then the world found out she's weak
Guess that's okay
No, I just couldn't see
That there was a billion of boy x, but babe, there's only one of me

"Wow." Ricky said, speaking after the final strum, causing the girl to look over at him.
"I'm sorry, I know it was a lot -" Soul started but was cut.

"I think that was just what I needed to hear." Ricky said, shaking his head.
"Thanks for letting me get it out. I really needed that." Soul said, smiling weakly at the boy.

"Anytime. You need someone to sing a song to I'm all ears." Ricky joked, causing them both to chuckle, causing Soul to look down at her guitar as Ricky stood up from his spot, making his way to the door.

"Hey, Ricky." Soul called, causing the Red head to stop in his tracks, turning around to face the girl. "She does like you. Gina. She just doesn't like to admit her feelings but I can tell she's really into you."

"Yeah?" Ricky said, causing a smile to form on his face.

"Yeah. So do me favor... don't hurt her." Soul said, smiling lightly at the boy. "I'm putting my trust into you Richard."

"Yeah, I won't." Ricky said, causing the girl to look back down to her guitar as she strummed. "You're not a burden, you know to EJ..."

"Yeah, well he has a funny way of showing it." Soul said.

"Yeah, that's true." Ricky said, scratching the back of his head. "He's just stressed with everything, you know the musical, his dad. I mean he's trying to make this the best summer for everyone but he has yet to take a break for himself."

"Yeah..." Soul muttered to herself.

"Don't beat him up to much he already has his dad on his back." Ricky said.

"And we know how that ends." Soul says, causing Ricky to look at her confused. "Thanks Ricky. I really needed that."

"Don't mention it. We all know he loves you." Ricky said, sending the girl one last grin before making his way out of the barn, leaving Soul once again with nothing but her guitar, her songbook, and her thoughts.
Soul began strumming her guitar again as she replayed how the las year and this summer has been so far and changed her life, she sung lightly.

Walls of insincerity
Shifting eyes and vacancy
Vanished when I saw you face

Soul glanced down at the E charm dangling from her wrist, causing her to let out a soft sigh.

All I can say is it was
enchanting to meet you
