"Okay, I am so very hyped for this dance tonight but someone needs to explain to me why we're doing a vintage theme for camp prom." Ashlyn said happily, making her way to Kourtney and Gina as all the girls were spread out across the cabin getting ready for the camp dance.

"Ooh, I think it has something to do with Susan Fine's birthday." Gina said. "Or the day she died."

"Definitely one of those two." Ashlyn said, pointing at the girl.

"Honestly, I've never known." Maddox explained, shrugging her shoulders as she walked past the girls.

"Look, any camp tradition that doesn't involve climbing a wall. Is good by me." Kourtney said, causing them to chuckle.

"Soul come on so Kourt can do your makeup." Gina called with a smile on her face.

"I feel like I look ridiculous." Soul said, stepping out of the bathroom, causing them all to turn and look at the girl with surprised faces. "I look ridiculous don't I."

"More like fire!" Kourtney said with a big smile, studying the girls outfit.

"You look a-mazing!" Gina said, smiling from ear to ear.

"Really?" Soul asked, pouting her lip. "I don't want to overdo it."

"You look perfect." Maddox said from her bunks, smiling over at her cousin, causing her to smile back.

"Thanks Maddie, you do too." Soul said, before turning back to her wildcat girls.

"I'm gonna miss having all this time with you guys." Gina said. "Okay, sisterhood vibes all night, okay?"

"It's gonna be a night of many vibes." Ashlyn said, nodding her head with a smile as Soul quickly switched spots with Gina as Kourtney started on her makeup. "Hey, Soul, are you good going solo to the dance tonight?"

"Who said I was going solo?" Soul questioned, looking around at the girls with a smile. "I have my girls to go with. And EJ explained to me about it being Camp Shallow Lake traditions, so it's fine."

"That's right. It is." Maddox said, standing beside her cousin.

"Everyone goes stag." Soul explained.

"Honestly, Ash. I think your cousin's gonna spend the night without our dear Soul as his date." Gina said, grabbing Soul by the hands causing her to stand up. "Realize he's kind of been ignoring her for a week and a half, and I don't know."

"It's okay. We talked last night." Soul explained, smiling at her best friend. "Besides, he promised to save at least a dance for me."

"Oh. Very nice." Ashlyn said.

"I think tonight might end with a bang." Gina said, excitedly.

"In one way or another, it always does." Maddox explained.

"Excuse me." Jet said, knocking on the locker as he entered the cabin, causing all the girls to exclaim as they eyed his outfit from head to toe. "Maddie, can we talk? Alone?"

"Okay, should we be spying on them?" Kourtney questioned as everyone else moved outside the cabin as they tried to listen in.

"No, you should not." Soul said, sitting by a bench nearby but far enough not to be able to hear talking within the cabin.

"Can you keep it down? I'm trying to spy." Ashyln whispered.

"Hi." A blonde girl spoke from behind the group spying, startling them causing Soul to chuckle. "Is Gadget still in there?"

"I just gotta stay in the zone tonight. No distractions." EJ said, stopping beside Ricky as he looked over his binder.

"Yes, sir." Ricky sarcastically said, quickly coughing on his drink gaining Carlos and EJ's attention as the door opened.

In walked Ashlyn, Kourtney and Gina with Soul right beside her.

"Hello, boys." Gina said as the girl's approached the boys with a smile, causing Ricky to cough.

"Wow." EJ said, looking at Soul. "You look great."

"Thanks. So do you." Soul said, smiling at the boy, causing him to smile back.

"Hey, Ricky, you okay?" Gina asked, letting out a confused chuckle, causing no words to come out.

"Yeah, you good Richard?" Soul asked.
"Yeah. It's just polyester." Ricky said, looking around at the group. "Am I right?"

"Ooh! The photo wall is lit." Kourtney said, letting out a squeal.

"We're stealing her." Ashlyn said, looking at her cousin, quickly leading Soul away as Gina linked her arms with Kourtney.

Soul stood back to back with Gina as they stood behind a cardboard cutout of a hippie van as Carlos and Ashlyn took photos of the duo.

"We'll be back." Gina said to Carlos and Ashlyn, causing them to nod before the girl quickly walked off, dragging Soul behind her to the punch bowl.

The two approached EJ, Kourtney, and Ricky after finishing their refreshments.

"7. Become a superhero." Soul said, chuckling at Ricky's Superman poses.

"Yes! I have 2 more to go before tomorrow." Ricky said, nodding his head, causing Soul to shake her head before looking over at EJ.

"Hey, do you want to dance?" Soul asked with a smile.

"Yeah, of course. Just a couple more prompts and then I'm all yours." EJ said, smiling at the girl with a nod before looking over at Kourtney. "Elsa, when Anna says, 'but why? I don't understand,' you say..."

"Uh. I know this one. Um..." Kourtney said, blinking her eyes as her mind went blank.

"Curtains up, cameras are rolling."

"Yeah, I know. Um..."

"Kourt?"

"Remember this part?" Gina asked, causing them all to watch the girl.

"I'm blank." Kourtney explained.

"Still got 24 hours." EJ said, smiling at the girl.

"And counting." Kourtney said, fake smiling at the boy as she chuckled nervously.

"Okay, Mr. Bowen, would you like to dance?" Gina asked, causing the boy to stare as if he was a deer in headlights.

"Hang on. I think Maddox is taking the stage." EJ said, turning to face the stage.

"One second." Ricky said, finally speaking as he quickly walked away.

Gina held her hand out to Kourtney, causing her to quickly grab it as the two made their way to the dance floor as Gina pulled Soul behind them.

"Hey, gang." Maddox said, gaining everyone's attention as she stood on the stage with a microphone in hand.

"We love you, Gadget." A random boy screamed, causing Soul to chuckle.

"Thank you. Just a..." Maddox started. "Just wanna make an announcement. Actually, it's not an announcement, it's an explanation."

"Madison?" EJ said, surprised looking at the blonde girl beside him.

"What's up, Rocket man?" Madison said, smiling at the boy.

"What's going on?" EJ questioned, pointing towards Maddox on the stage.

"I wish I knew." Madison said.

"I push people away." Maddox explained. "Good people who screw up like I probably screw up, basically, every day. So I thought I might sing something tonight."

"Shallow Lake song." A girl exclaimed, causing her chuckle.

"Actually, I had another idea. It's a song that used to be my favorite when I was little. It made me happy, and it made my little brother happy and I think maybe we're ready to be happy again." Maddox explained. "And I know we've had 100 ups and downs since then. but Jet, I wouldn't change a thing."

"Aw."

"Let's go, Maddie!" Soul exclaimed, happily causing Maddox to chuckle as she pouted at the girl with a grin before the song started.

EJ looked down at the book in his hand before placing it on a nearby table before making his way over to his girlfriend as he tapped her shoulder, causing her to turn around with a smile.

"Can I have this dance?" EJ said, holding his hand out, causing the girl to nod, grabbing his hand as he twirled her as they danced along to the music with their friends.

"Me too." Soul said, wrapping her arms around the boy's waist as she placed her head on his chest as the song ended, causing everyone to cheer for them.

"Everyone, everyone, this is Madison of Mad and Mad fame." Maddox said, introducing the blonde girl to the group.

"We have heard so much about you." Ashlyn said, causing everyone to smile at the girl before everyone went back to their own conversation.

"So do I get a prompt?" Soul asked, looking up at EJ.

"Of course, your promt is 'I love you." EJ said, causing a smile to grow on the girl's face.

"An act of true love will thaw a frozen heart." Soul recited, not once looking away.

"Perfect." EJ said, smiling at the girl.

"So, how much longer do I have you before you run off?" Soul questioned.

"As long as you need me." EJ said, tucking a strand of hair behind the girl's ear, causing her to grin from ear to ear before placing her head back on the boy's chest, causing him to place a kiss on her forehead as they swayed to the music.

Soul made her way into the cabin with a smile on her face only to see Kourtney and Ashlyn sitting on her bunk.

"Everything okay?" Soul asked, sounding concerned noticing the long faces.

"Yeah, yeah, everything's fine." Kourtney said, quickly nodding her head, sending the girl a closed mouth smile.

"Kourt, of all the years I've known you, not once have I ever seen you sad." Soul said, sitting on the other side of the curly haired girl. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"Kourt, you can trust us." Ashlyn said, causing Soul to nod as Kourtney let out a breath she was holding.

"Okay. I'm worried about tomorrow." Kourtney admits. "I completely dropped EJ's line prompt tonight. What if I choke?"

"Kourt..."

"Look." Kourtney said, looking down before looking back up at Soul. "It happened at the climbing wall and it's happened 1,000 times before. So I was actually thinking about asking you if you would..."

"No." Soul said, cutting the girl off as she shook her head.

"You know all of Elsa's lines, I'm sure you know the entire script by heart and this could be your big break. So..." Kourtney said, causing Soul to shake her head again, causing Kourtney to look over at Ashlyn.

"Oh, no. My big break was spending this summer with you girls." Ashlyn said, shaking her head as she smiled at the two girls in front of her. "I'm good. You are better."

"Kourt, It's time for the world to see what they're missing." Soul said, grabbing the girl's hand, giving her a smile.

"Oh, sorry." Maddox said, walking in the cabin, causing the three girl's to look over at the girl. "I thought this was gonna be empty."

"We can leave." Kourtney said, going to stand up causing Ashlyn and Soul to pull her back down.

"No, no, it's okay." Maddox said, turning to face the group. "Uh, actually, I just said goodbye to somebody that I wasn't even expecting to say hello to tonight, so I'm a little upside-down."

"She was glowing. So were you." Ashlyn said, smiling at the girl. "Don't mind us. Just talking about deep fears over here."

"Is this about the climbing wall?" Maddox asked.

"And all it stands for, yes." Kourtney said.

"I thought your teacher said you would do it when you were ready. Right?" Maddox asked.

"I think, uh, I'm just gonna go to bed and pretend like tomorrow night isn't opening night." Kourtney spoke timidly.

"Hey, guys. I was just on the swings." Gina said, making her way into the cabin. "I forgot about swings."

"Hey, you okay?" Soul asked, looking up at her best friend.

"I think Ricky just tried to kiss me and I didn't hate the thought of it." Gina said, sounding surprised, causing the other four to look at her. "Let's talk about it later."

"I guess tonight did end with a bang." Ashlyn said.

"Well, as long as it ends soon." Kourtney said. "I mean who knows. Maybe I can wake up as someone else."

"Hey, Kourt, can I borrow your prayer?" Ashlyn asked, causing Kourtney to look up at the red headed girl as she nodded.

"Welcome to the Wildcats, cuz." Soul said, placing her head against Maddox's, causing them all to chuckle.
