Soul's day was the opposite of great, once again.

For starters, she was woken up by Sarah rushing into her room to wake her up, because somehow her alarm clock was unplugged for like the 3rd time in a month, which meant they were late for school once again. Being late to school caused Soul to miss her first period and a test, meaning she had to make it up right after school, which meant being late to musical rehearsals.

Soul was running through the hallway of East High trying to get to practice when she ran into someone and fell, dropping everything.

"I'm sorry." They both apologized, Soul looked up and realized she ran into Nini.

"Oh, hey Soul," Nini said, finally looking up. "Sorry about that, I've been looking for my phone and now I'm-"

"Heading to rehearsals?" Soul asked with a laugh, causing Nini to smile and nod. "Yeah, me too. I had to make up for the test that I missed this morning in our first period."

"Yeah, I was wondering where you were this morning." Nini said as the two started walking to the bunker. "So, how are you?"

"Um. I'm fine I guess." Soul said, slightly shrugging. "You?"

"I'm doing good." Nini answers with a nod.

The rest of the walk to the bunker was silent, neither girl had the courage to speak to the other.

They walked into the bunker to the instrumental sound of Stick To The Status Quo playing as Gina was doing an incredible as well as intense dance but it didn't take long for Miss Jenn to spot either girl.

"Everybody hold!" Miss Jenn calls, making her way over to Soul and Nini. "Nini, Soul, where were you? We've been here for an hour."

"I'm so sorry." Nini apologizes. "I lost my phone and spent last night living as a hunter-gather, which by the way, did you know there are things that are only on TV at a certain time? Anyways, I picked it up in the lost and found... Wait, did you say an hour?"

"Gina sent you and me a text asking if we could come in early so she could talk through a new idea. You didn't get it?" Miss Jenn questions as she points over in Gina's direction.

"No, my phone was missing." Nini said, shaking her head.

"Well hunny, you've gotta keep better track of your stuff." Miss Jenn said in a serious tone. "A real triple-threat means singing, acting, and being organized."

"Got it." Nini said.

"If you had been here, you'd know Gina pitched a whole new dance break for Gabriella and Taylor in the middle of Status Quo, and she had Carlos work it all out with her, and it is just dazzling." Miss Jenn said as Gina walked over. "Soul, can I talk to you for a second."

Soul nodded wordlessly, sending Nini a small smile before following behind the drama teacher to the spot she once was near Carlos.

"Where were you?" Miss Jenn questioned.

"I was late for school this morning so I missed my 1st period so I had to take a test." Soul explained, shuffling through her backpack trying to find the note she had gotten. "He gave me a note, just let me-"

"Soul." Miss Jenn called, causing her to look up. "Is everything okay, you and your siblings have been late quite often lately. Before you ask, it's my job to know."

"No, everything is fine," Soul said, wearing a fake smile upon her face. "I guess we just keep oversleeping."

"You sure," Miss Jenn questions, causing Soul to nod, causing her to smile. "Great, why don't you go to the auditorium and work on your song for the show."

"Yeah, Okay." Soul said, turning back around and making her way out of the bunker and to the auditorium.

When she first stepped into the auditorium the first throng she noticed was the piano sitting in the middle of the stage facing the seats. Soul silently made her way to the piano before taking a seat on the bench. Taking a big sigh before she began playing a tune until she accidentally pushed the wrong key.

"You got this Soul." She whispered to herself, letting out a shaky breath before she started again.

16, lot on her mind

She thinks she won't ever find someone

As she played the final notes she let some tears fall until she heard something move from behind her, causing her to quickly turn to see Carlos. Soul quickly turned back around, rapidly trying to wipe the tears away from her face.

"I didn't mean to eavesdrop but Miss Jenn wanted me to come check on you and see how the song was coming along and to let you know we were going to run the Status Quo, since everything else is going hor-" Carlos explains, making his way over but rushed over to the girl when he saw tears, sitting down beside her. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine." Soul said, wiping her face. "So what's going on that's making everything horrible?"

"Well for starters Nini can't get the dance with Gina and Ricky hit EJ in the face with a basketball." Carlos explains. "It was accidental of course."

"I guess that's good. Is EJ okay though?" Soul asked, causing the boy to nod quickly.

"How's the song coming?" Carlos asked. "Was that it, what you were playing when I came in?"

"Um, no, that was just something I've been messing around with." Soul explained, looking at him shaking her head. "But I do have the concept in my head of what I want the song to be so I should be done soon."

"Okay, good! At least there is one thing going right today." Carlos said, letting out a breath of air and a laugh. "We haven't hung out in a while, what are you doing Friday night?"

"Um, I don't know yet, but I would love to hang out. I do miss it." Soul said, causing the boy to pull her into a hug.

"Great, we can have a HSM marathon and everything!" Carlos exclaims, pulling away from the hug as his smile fades. "What is that? Is that a bruise?"

Soul quickly moved as he tried to reach out and touch her face.

"Um, yeah I kinda fell the other day. You know how clumsy I am, It's really no big deal." Soul said, letting out a fake laugh, quickly grabbing her things. "I need to use the bathroom before I go back to the bunker."

"Soul wait." Carlos called out but she rushed out of the auditorium before he had the chance to say anything else.

As Soul was running down the hallway she quickly made her way into the bathroom and quickly touched up the makeup on the left side of her face.

Soul made her way out of the bathroom, looking down the hall to make sure Carlos wasn't anywhere near when she walked directly into what felt like a wall and was quickly caught before she could fall on her butt for the second time today.

"I'm so sorry." Soul quickly apologized, looking behind her to make sure Carlos was there.

"Soul, are you okay." The voice in front of her asks as they grab onto her shoulders, making her look at them so see Carter.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine," Soul said, sending him a weak smile. "I was just trying to get away from someone. What are you up to?"

"Miss Jenn wanted us to check and see if any of the new props came in." Sully explained, walking up behind Carter, causing Soul to notice that the rest of his friends were behind him , causing the girl to wave. "So we're heading to the office."

"Do you want to tag along?" Carter asks. "I mean if you're not busy you know with anything else."

"I would love to but I need to get back to the bunker." Soul explained, sending him a smile as she started walking backwards. "And I'm sure you have enough muscle. I mean you do have Georgie and Mara with you."

"Hey!" All the boys exclaimed, causing the girls to laugh.

"We take total offense to that." Wyatt says as Zak nods in agreement.

"Yeah, I know," Soul said as she laughed. "I'll catch you guys later."

Soul the fully turned back around, racing back to the bunker, seeing Miss Jenn and Mr. Mazzara having a conversion outside of the door. When Soul saw Carlos coming down the hall, quickly she rushed into the bunker to see almost everyone gathered around the piano.

Soul quickly took a seat at the piano beside Seb as Gina was leaning against the front, directly across from her.

"Hey." Soul greeted , shooting her a smile as she smiled back. "How was the choreo with Nini?"

"Let's just say she needs to work on her high kicks." Gina says, causing them both to laugh. "How's the song coming?"

"It's coming, I know what I want to write about, I just need the lyrics." Soul explains as she nods and soon Carlos comes in.

"Okay people, Ms, Jenn wants us to run the Status Quo vocals." Carlos explains as he approaches the piano.
