Xavier shrugged. "yeah, although we mostly just hang out and shoot at targets" Danny picked up her bow again and began aiming. Killua picked up one as well. "Never shot one of these before" Ace sat down on a bench, watching. Xavier handed him an arrow. "why don't you give it a shot?" Killua nodded, then drew back and fired. The arrow missed and killua blinked. Huh? How the hell did he miss that? His aim was near perfect! Killua tried again, and nearly hit the target but still missed. Danny giggled.
Killua sighed. "How do you shoot this damn thing? It's harder than it looks" he grumbled. Xavier chuckled then walked over and started walking him through the motions, when he fired he hit the outside of the target. Ah, that's what I was doing wrong. "Ah, thanks" he said, then grabbed another arrow. He took a few moments to focus, even though he didn't need to. "Slow and steady, your figure's good" Xavier encouraged. Killua released the arrow, and it thudded straight into the bullseye
Ace's eyes shined. "Oooh!" Killua grinned. "easy" Danny snorted. "beginners luck" Killua grabbed another arrow. "You sure about that?" he said, cockily. Danny blinked. "yeah?" He grabbed a metal ring that he'd found, it seemed to be for another game. Xavier blinked. "What are you doing?" he asked, curiously. Killua didn't reply, he just tossed the ring in the air and waited. Let's see if I can pull this off, If I don't I'll look like an utter fool. But if I DO, I'll look like a badass.
Killua waited for the right moment, then turned and did a backflip, midway he aimed, drew, and fired. Killua landed, then grinned. The arrow was in the bullseye, and the ring was pinned there as well. Ace's mouth was open. "W-Wow-" Killua smirked catlike, spinning to look at them. He put his hands behind his head. "you sure its beginners luck now?" The other three just sat there, pretty shellshocked. Did I go overboard? He thought for a moment. Nah.
Ace clapped, smiling. "That was amazing! Hey, hey can he hang out with us?" Killua glanced at Xavier, he seemed to be the one in charge here. "I mean....yeah, sure" he said, finally snapping out of it. Killua walked over and sat down on the bench as well. Ace started peppering him with questions. "Your name's Killua right? Where are you from? What kind of outcast are you? How'd you do that?" Killua sighed. Another bubbly excitable type. "I'm from a place called Japon"
Danny tilted her head. "You don't look Japanese" Killua blinked and glanced at her. "I'm not" he said. "Oh" she looked confused for a moment, but shrugged it off. Killua got slightly distracted by a familiar voice shouting. "Come on girls paint faster! We're gonna win this year!" Killua blinked. "Was that Enid?" Danny nodded. "yeah. We have a mutual friend, her name is Yoko. She's really going for the win again"
Killua settled back. "this is about the 'poe cup' thing isn't it" he said. He'd heard a lot about it but despite that, he didn't actually know what it was. Ash nodded. "Yeah" he glanced at him. "so...what's all the buzz about? Nobody ever explained it to me" Xavier kept shooting arrows. "the poe cup is a race. Half footrace, half boat race, no rules" He said. Interesting. "Yeah, the winners get bragging rights and some perks for the rest of the year" That peeked killua's interest. "perks?"
"Yeah! They get their faces in the year book, extra roaming time, this room high on the tower to themselves, and extra time to study for exams." Killua hummed. Extra time outside the school and a private room? That was....very enticing. Killua glanced at Ash. "How do I sign up?"
