EVERYTHING HAD ITS PRICE TAG AND LANA DECKER FOUND THAT OUT THE HARD WAY.

Once, she was a promising med student with a career and a wonderful life ahead of her, but that all changed in a flash. She used to say that she would never allow a man to cause her to change her own life, but that was before she met him. He was everything she had ever dreamed of, and more, the perfect man that Lana had always wanted. But it was too good to be true. 

He claimed her courses were pulling them apart and Lana, already starting to fail due to his influence, decided to cut her losses and be with the man she loved. But once he had her wrapped around his finger entirely, he left without a word. And he took everything she had. Now Lana Decker, a previously aspiring paediatrician, had nothing all because she let a man sweep her off her feet. And that was the day she realised that everything came with a cost.

With not a penny to her name, a family on the other side of the country and no education, Lana Decker did not know what to do. But when she stumbled into a Cloud9 to buy a loaf of bread, peanut butter (which, despite its name, was lactose free as she was intolerant) and a carton of milk with her last five dollars, she discovered they were hiring. And, well, that was when Lana Decker pulled herself back onto her feet even if the pay wasn't great and it wasn't helping sick children as she hoped. 

Because she was strong and she would not let the asshole who tore her down to keep her broken. And it was because of the weird world of Cloud9 that Lana Decker put herself back together.

Everything was the same every day, yet different at the same time. And sure, the work was a little boring but Lana found friends that helped her in the dark time in her life. It was the best of the terrible jobs out there and she made the most of it.

But when a new guy joins the team, the work starts to become a little less boring. There was something about him that made Lana's heart swoon yet made her want to punch him at the same time. Yet, Lana refused to allow the new guy to get close to her guarded heart.

After all, she knew everything came with a price tag and she wasn't sure whether she wanted to pay it.

the life of lana decker

• Lana has 3 older sisters so she's the baby of the family. She wanted to show her family she was an adult so she moved half way across the country for her course. Therefore she doesn't see her family much.

• She is so kind and caring and adores children so she wanted to help them as a paediatrician which she was training for before he turned up.

• His name was Everett Madden (you can change the name) and he wormed his way into Lana's life. He made her feel loved and special and was a master manipulator who did it for fun, the money he took from her was an added bonus. He kept pulling her away from her studies and it took a while, but he wore her down and eventually her grades started to drop. When she started to fail, he asked her to drop out so they could fully commit to each other. She loved him so she agreed. Then she had nothing.

• Lana's standard mode is kind and bubbly but if you piss her off, her rage is unmatched. She is also very good at pranks because she's good at finding the balance between pranking and actually hurting/offending someone.

notes:

• I love Lana, she's such a baby who's been through so much. The only people who know are Glenn, Dina and Amy. She loves Cheyenne so much, but she knows she will totally spill, so she doesn't tell her. But, eventually she manages to open up to everyone, it'll be a big moment for her.

• Lana is lactose intolerant and Jonah always remembers that, unlike some of the others, which is very sweet.

• At the beginning, Lana and Jonah tease each other a lot and they act as though the other is really annoying but they're really in deep denial about falling in love. 

• After Everett, Lana hasn't been with anyone. She feels very vulnerable and is very guarded as she's afraid to open up again. Before her and Jonah together, she works up the courage to have a one night stand and then eventually a short-term relationship. These are really big developments for her. But she doesn't truly like the guy she has the short-term relationship with which is why she's so reluctant to give Jonah a shot as she really does like him and is afraid.

• Lana's personal growth and development throughout this crazy show is beautiful. So proud of her.

ACT ONE
superstore season one

• Lana is already working at Cloud9 by the time Jonah is. There's a lot of teasing between them. And Lana is very protective of young, pregnant Cheyenne and is there to support her the entire time. 

ACT TWO
superstore season two

• Lana is at the head of the strike train with Jonah and Amy, love this chaotic trio. During this act, Lana and Jonah are getting closer and Lana is developing her trust and confidence again. During this act she develops enough trust for a one night stand (not with anyone from Cloud9). She's so supportive and non-judgmental about Amy's marriage trouble. Lana and Jonah kiss during the tornado.

ACT THREE
superstore season three

• This is the act where Lana manages to find herself a short-term relationship, which SHE breaks off which will be good for her as she'll feel more in control. Lana and Jonah are getting really close by this point. When people accuse her of sleeping around with Jonah, it really hurts her as she'd never do that and it doesn't help barely anyone knows about Everett. We all know what happens at the end of season three, so if you think Lana is ready for that with Jonah and you feel comfortable with it, go ahead. Depends on you.   

ACT FOUR
superstore season four

• Lana and Jonah definitely get together in this act. Because Jonah isn't with Amy, Lana is the supportive one of Amy as she's going through her pregnancy. Women supporting women. Lana is doing well in the store, she's been promoted. She and Jonah are very happy. But then she finds out she's pregnant not long before Mateo is taken away which devastates them all.

ACT FIVE 
superstore season five

•  Lana and Jonah are trying to handle her pregnancy which leads them to moving in with each other. There's tension because their relationship is going faster than Lana is completely comfortable with, but she's dealing with it and Jonah is very supportive. She'll have the baby before the end of the act, depends on when you want it to happen. You can decide on baby's name and sex.

ACT SIX
superstore season six

• After having her baby, Lana is thinking about her future and wants to reenrol in medical school and finally become a paediatrician. Her family parents decide to move closer to Lana so they're there to help her with her dream of going back to school. But in the meantime, she's still at Cloud9 and leaves for school when the store closes.
