CATHERINE MOSES BELIEVED THAT IF YOU WANTED THE WORLD TO BE A BETTER PLACE, THEN YOU HAD TO FIGHT FOR IT. So for as long as she could remember, that was exactly what she had been doing. Looking back, she guess she would say that she inherited it from her Father who, unbeknownst to her, had served in military and CIA for years before she was even born. Catherine followed in his footsteps and served in the army before returning home where she was recruited to join an organisation she had never heard of before: SHIELD.

It was like a dream come true: she had finally found the perfect job for her.

Her Father was, of course, cautious of his baby girl joining an agency, but once he saw how happy her job made her, he gave in. And that was when he told her everything: how he wasn't some travelling salesman, that he was in fact one of the best agents the CIA had ever had. It was the lies that hurt Catherine the most. He didn't even tell her when she joined the army. But all Frank Moses had ever wanted to do was protect his daughter, so she couldn't hate him for that.

Kicking ass, saving people, it certainly ran in the family. So it wasn't long before Catherine Moses rose through the SHIELD ranks as one of their best agents alongside Barton and Romanoff — her best friends. They were Fury's terrible trio. If you saw one, then more often enough the other two weren't that far behind. Life as a SHIELD agent was simple enough, but then it happened.

Steve Rogers — Captain America himself — was found frozen in ice. And to add to it all, he was still alive. Seven decades after crashing into the icy waters, he resurfaced to a world that wasn't his. Everything had changed and people had moved on. He was all alone.

But then an Asgardian God lands on Earth and steals the Tesseract (a cube of unspeakable unearthly power) along with their agents and friends so Fury is forced to bring into action a scrapped program: the Avengers Initiative. Bringing together the world's greatest heroes, like Captain America, Dr Bruce Banner and somehow Agent Catherine Moses, they must all work together to take down the God of Mischief before he unleashes his army upon the Earth.

Meanwhile, a certain Agent has taken a liking to a certain Captain who, unaware to her, is starting to like her too.

• Catherine is highly trained and skilled. She knows many languages and can use many weapons. She was previously in the army before joining SHIELD so she has all the training from that. She also knows a decent amount of first aid.

• When Frank finally told Catherine the truth, there was tension to start with but that eventually went. They started to bond more when Frank started to teach her all his moves and he trained her. The first RED movie takes place before Avengers and Catherine doesn't make much of an appearance (can have a reference in prologue if you want).

• Raven mainly uses guns, but her signature weapon is a staff with blades at either end. The staff can break into two if she wants. People call her Raven as an omen of death. (You can change this if you want) and her suit is a bit like Natasha's. It's jet black, zipped up all the way and a pair of wings are embroidered on the back.

notes:

• Catherine and Steve are friends before they end up in a relationship. But it's clear from the beginning they have pretty good chemistry.

• So Catherine is the daughter of Frank Moses from the films RED and RED 2. I honestly love those films, but they don't see much love so here's a crossover fic for it.

• Steve likes Frank because he addresses him more as a solider than as Captain America, the Avenger. Marvin is unbothered by his presence. Victoria just makes a comment about how he's handsome. Honestly, Victoria would totally try and set Catherine and Steve up. Sarah is in awe of him.

• Sort of slow-burn fic so there's a lot of tension in the middle which I'm excited for.

ACT ONE
the avengers

• Catherine is with her Dad and Sarah when she gets the call about Loki and Clint and is then asked to bring in Steve Rogers, which she does. Considering Steve now knows her, he sticks with her on the helicarrier. Catherine is unaware of Phase 2 and is outraged by as it as Steve. By the end, her and Steve have bonded and she promises to help him adjust to current society.

ACT TWO
red 2

• Catherine helps Steve get an apartment and spends her free time helping him adjust. Then she gets the news her Godfather is dead and Steve offers to go with her to the funeral where he's introduced to her Father and Sarah. Then Marvin's alive and they have to rescue her Dad which is how Catherine and Steve are brought into it. She tries to get Steve to leave, it isn't his fight, but he refuses. Steve and Catherine leave at the end and they're closer than ever.

ACT THREE
captain america: the winter soldier

• Catherine is still trying to help Steve adjust. She doesn't want to admit it, but she's a little jealous as Nat is trying to set Steve up with someone. She's devastated by Fury's death. Catherine and Sam are BROTP. She knows how much Bucky means to him and tries to help him. When Fury's back, she slaps him. She thought it was just her Godfather who had a record of faking his death. At the end, Catherine goes and helps Steve with his Bucky search.

ACT FOUR
avengers: age of ultron

• Catherine and Steve are practically a couple, everyone thinks it but them. Catherine invites her Father, Sarah and her Uncle Marvin to the Avengers party, so that's interesting. She knows about Clint and his family and she's also like an Aunt to the kids. They make Steve and Catherine share. When they go to find Helen Cho, Ultron badly injures Catherine and Steve can't bear the thought of losing her. That's when he realises he likes her. Catherine forces herself to go to Sokovia, no matter how badly she's injured. When they think they're about to die, they admit their feelings. They're together at the end of the act.

ACT FIVE
captain america: civil war

• She doesn't sign the accords and is okay to retire, can't trust the government as her Uncle would remind her. Catherine is team cap but that doesn't mean she approves. She acts as Steve's anchor, tying him down to the reality of the situation. She's with him to the end and is one of the reasons he doesn't hurt Tony any more. She's his peace.

ACT SIX*
pre-infinity war

• Ok, this act is optional. I just thought it might be interesting to see a little bit of them on the run. Obviously, her bizarre family will turn up across the act. And Steve and Catherine's relationship gets rocky over the decisions they've made. Up to you, really.

ACT SEVEN
avengers: infinity war

• Catherine and Steve are back! She's relieved to see Bruce again. She fights in Wakanda. She doesn't dust, but her entire family, apart from Sarah, do.

ACT EIGHT
avengers: endgame

• Catherine and Steve mourn their losses and Sarah lives with them at the Avengers facility. Catherine keeps in contact with Tony. Catherine is overjoyed by the chance to bring back the ones they've lost. In the planning stage of the heist, Catherine finds out she's pregnant and tells Sarah. Catherine still goes on the time heist (you can decide where she goes) and doesn't tell Steve out of fear he won't allow her to help. She's broken after Nat dies. At the end, she tells Steve about the baby and after returning the stones, they retire.

• A sweet epilogue would be nice. Maybe they call their daughter Natasha? Frank would adore his grandchild so much.
