ON SOME LEVEL, MIKAYLA CURRAN WAS SURE SHE BELIEVED IN ANGELS. From the moment she had first heard about them with their guardian natures and their majestic wings, Mikayla had always dreamed about them being real. She had prayed to God that they would come down from their high pedestals and rescue her from her lonely life. But no one answered.

So life went on for young Mikayla Curran. She went to school, got good grades, played Netball for the school team. But then, something strange happened.

Meteors rained down from the sky.

Astronomers and other experts couldn't explain it. There was a worldwide shower across the Earth, all at once, and no one knew a thing. All Mikayla knew was that as soon as the lights had stopped falling, she was different. First voices came into her head like a crashing wave. Then the electricity started to react whenever she entered a room. And she swore her shadow had wings. 

Something had happened to Mikayla Curran during that meteor shower and she couldn't tell a soul. Then one day, as she strolling past the local gas-n-sip, she felt something in her gut. It was a strange tugging sensation, telling her to go inside. Of course, knowing the weird things that had been happening to her lately, Mikayla followed it. And she found out what it was after. Because once inside, it led her straight to an employee by the name of Steve. 

There was something about Steve that Mikayla couldn't place. And then she saw it: an absence. A void. Like a gaping wound on his back where something was stolen from him. And Steve, as soon as he saw Mikayla Curran staring at him, he could see the angelic spark in her eyes and he knew she was special. She had the missing pieces of all of his brothers and sisters trapped inside of her, just neither of them knew that yet. But she did find out something that she never could have imagined: angels were real. And Steve was one of them. Or at least, he used to be. Because that gaping absence she could see like a scar on his back; that used to be where his wings were.

Now united by the affect of the meteor shower, Mikayla and Castiel — or as she met him, Steve — must try to fix themselves. Not knowing all along that they were fixing each other.

• Basically, when the angels fell and their wings burnt off, all of that power went straight to one person: Mikayla. She has been chosen by Chuck for some reason (which he later reveals is because she can heal Castiel's shattered soul) and has all the angel wings bestowed upon her. 

• She's still human. She bleeds red, she has emotions and desires. Her ageing remains normal. It's just now she has this power. She's a human with angel wings. And she's not a Nephilim either because she doesn't have grace.

• Mikayla never knew her parents. She was told they died in a car crash on their way back from the hospital and she survived. She doesn't know who they are just that she has no other family which is why she's in a children's home.

• Mikayla can tap into angel radio but it's a choice. She has the ability to tune in and out of it. 

• She can also sent other angels, even ex-angels, which is how she finds Cass.

notes:

• Mikayla has no family so despite her bubbly nature sometimes, she's very reluctant to let people in because she doesn't want to lose them. This is a reoccurring issue between Mikayla and Cass.

• Mikayla and Cass have a complicated relationship. They have their ups and downs but still she refuses to leave him. He was the first person to help her with her new powers and to care about her. She mainly calls him 'Cassie' and doesn't start with anything 'Dad' related until at least some time in season thirteen.

• Depending on how you wanted to take season thirteen after what happens to Mikayla at the end of act four, I just think Mikayla would love Jack as a brother and protect him with everything even though he looks older.

• Mikayla is sweet, kind and bubbly by nature. But the situations she gets put in make her angry sometimes. Her and Cass have their cute moments and their screaming moments. 

ACT ONE
supernatural season nine

• Mikayla lives near the gas-n-sip where Cass works and she can sense him. He's the first angel she's met and she sticks by him. He doesn't yet know why she's different, just that she is. When he leaves, she goes with him and is captured by the angels also. The angels are shocked by the power she has. Cass gets grace but he's dying. Mikayla and the Winchesters don't get along at first because they kicked out Cass. Cass tries to keep her from the civil war and they argue about that. Metatron reveals what she is. 

ACT TWO
supernatural season ten

• Cass is dying and Mikayla is trying all that she can to help, but nothing is working. She's arguing with Cass again because he's basically letting himself die. Then she helps him find a cure for the mark of Cain and his grace. Starts to warm up to the Winchesters. Mikayla bonds with Claire. Basically, Mikayla is Cass's light but he keeps annoying her with his decisions.

ACT THREE
supernatural season eleven

• The Darkness is released and Cass has been cursed. Mikayla tries everything she can to try and save him but she can't. The more the Winchesters help, the more she starts to like them. Mikayla is the first to notice something is wrong with Cass and then Lucifer locks her away for a little bit. By the time she breaks out, it's too late, the Winchesters have found out. She then stays with them in their safe bunker until they can get Lucifer out of Cass. Mikayla meets God and punches him.

ACT FOUR
supernatural season twelve

• The Men of Letters are tracking Mikayla for her power and even attempt to kill her at one point. Big mistake, dudes. Mikayla bonds with Mary as Mikayla and Cass are getting much closer and on better terms. But then he leaves with Kelly Kline (you can decide if Mikayla goes with him). The angels are starting to suffer, so they reach out to Mikayla and ask for her help. She refuses so they just kidnap her and then isn't there when Cass dies, but she can feel it.
