AVALON RAYNA SHOULD NOT EXIST.

The legends and myths surrounding the creation of the anomalous girl were just stories passed around a fire to inspire both fear and hope in others... weren't they?

Avalon Rayna did not remember much about her childhood: the faces of her parents, blank; the lullabies that soothed her as a baby, murmurs, and the home in which she used to run around in, where she tripped over every loose floorboard and scrapped her knees on the dirt in the garden, nonexistent.

The first untampered memory she had was waking up in the middle of a forest, alone, cold, and scared to the bone. Nothing made sense. It was as if her mind was a storm with pieces of her life flying around like debris, striking her in a random and damaging pattern. Avalon Rayna did not know why her, she didn't why she was so different from everyone else, but someone did.

Gandalf the Grey, a powerful and compassionate Wizard whose heart was set on protecting the world he had already grown so fond of, realised that there was a bigger force at play than himself so he set out to find it. He did not expect to be greeted with a woman whose slender fingers melded perfectly into the hilt of a sword and he did not expect the mesmerising magic that had hidden itself deep within her soul.

Avalon Rayna was unlike anything he had ever seen before; fire burnt like the sun in her heart and stars sparkled in her eyes, enchanting not just his curiosity, but also the thing he guarded so securely inside his chest, his heart.

But for a Phoenix to rise, it must first burn to be reborn from the ashes of who it used be. An endless cycle. From ashes to ashes. From dust to dust. A never ending loop, an eternity of pain, but forever no longer feels like burden if you have someone to share it with.

The Phoenix: Avalon is the Phoenix, a creature of legend and myth. She was born from fire, from fear and pain in order to stop it. Phoenixes maintain the balance of the world. Phoenixes are practically Immortal and when Avalon wakes up, she's reborn as the Phoenix with no memory of who she used to be.

Powers: Avalon has fire powers and can create orange energy blasts. Her eyes glow like fire when she's using her powers. She's strong, fast and heals faster than humans. When she goes full Phoenix, she can fly. Avalon is scared of her powers so she tries not to use them.

notes:

• This story is based a very very long time ago, about 75 years after the Istari came to Middle Earth. This is before Sauron, Mordor and the rings.

• Gandalf senses something powerful and goes in search of the source, only to find Avalon dressed in rags, her memories a mess. He looks after her, makes sure she's alright. But whilst she's sleeping, she has a nightmare and almost kills him with her magic.

• Gandalf helps Avalon to figure out what she is whilst teaching her to control her powers.

• Avalon likes to call him 'Gandy' and she's the only one who ever allows to call him that. He calls her 'Ava' and nicknames her 'Sparky' and later 'Little Firebird'.

• Gandalf and Avalon start developing feelings for each other but Gandalf pushes her away at first because he doesn't know she's a Phoenix and thinks she will die of old age and he will live on. Not knowing the true reason to him distancing himself, Avalon is hurt but when the Phoenix comes out, they admit their feelings to each other.

• Avalon's powers may be growing but something is coming. Gandalf and Avalon must work together to fight the darkness which is when she goes full Phoenix.

• Gandalf and Avalon win their battle against Evil and I'll private message the author the ending to avoid major spoilers.
