CHAPTER THREE, bonding with the girls & a win for auradon knights

(kalia's outfit for the beginning of this chapter is shown above)

The next few days Kalia spent some time with Evie learning how to make some clothes. It was actually pretty easy and thanks to Evie teaching her she eventually got the hang of it. She had just finished the first ever dress she made with Evie's help and she was honestly very proud of her work. Today, Kalia, Flynnley, and Jane (Fairy Godmother's daughter) were hanging out in Evie's and Mal's dorm.

"Mom said, 'if a boy can't see the beauty within, then he's not worth it'." Jane said. She scoffs. "Can you believe it? What world does she live in?"

"Auradon." Mal chuckled.

"I agree with your mom." Kalia chimes in. "You shouldn't change yourself just for a boy to like you."

"Yeah, you should just be yourself and if he doesn't like you for you then like your mom said he's not worth it." Flynnley spoke, sending Jane a small smile.

Kalia stands up, holding the dress in front of her to see what it would look like on her. "E, what do you think?" She asked, glancing at the blue-haired girl with a nervous look.

Evie gasps and she smiles widely. "It looks amazing! Yellow is definitely your color." Kalia grins, looking down at the dress she made. "I'm so proud of you." Evie told her.

Kalia looks at her with a bright smile. "Thanks, Evie. That means a lot to me. Thanks to you, I now know how to make my own clothes."

Evie dramatically bows. "You're welcome." She giggles along with Kalia. "Okay," She picks up dress she was working on. "I just finished this, what do you think?"

Kalia stares at the blue and black tie-dye dress in awe. "Literally so jealous of your skills." Evie smiles shyly and giggles a bit. "How are you so good with making clothes?"

"Lots of practice." Evie replies. She shows the dress to Mal. "Mal, do you like?"

Mal glances at it for a second before looking back at the drawing she was working on. "Yeah. It's cute. It brings out your eyes."

Evie looks at the dress with a smile. "I know."

"I'll never get a boyfriend." Jane complained, laying down on the other bed since one of the beds were occupied by Mal.

"Boyfriends are overrated." Mal spoke.

"And how would you know, Mal?" Evie raises her eyebrows at her. "You've never had one."

"It's 'cause I don't need one, E." Mal tells her. "They're a waste of time."

"You're a great drawer." Flynnley compliments Mal when she noticed her drawing. "You should think about joining art class."

"Yeah, I agree." Kalia nods in agreement, glancing at Mal with a smile. "I think you'd like it."

"I'll think about it." Mal shrugged.

Evie gasps, her eyes widening in panic, earning a confused look from Kalia. "What? What's wrong?" Kalia asked her.

"I forgot to do Chad's homework!"

"And that is exactly what I mean." Mal said.

Kalia exchange a glance with Flynnley. "You're doing Chad's homework?" Flynnley questions. She shakes her head. "Just forget about it. You shouldn't do someone else's homework." She pauses for a moment before asking, "Wait, are you get anything anything in return?"

"Flynnley." Kalia scolded.

"Right, no," Flynnley shakes her head, pointing at Evie with a stern look. "You shouldn't do someone else's homework no matter what."

Lonnie (daughter of Mulan) knocks on the open door before walking in. "Hey, guys!" She smiles. "I'm Lonnie." When Mal and Evie looked at her with confusion, she adds, "My mom's Mulan. No?" She shrugs. "Anyways," She looks at Mal with a smile. "I love what you've done with Jane's hair. And I know you hate us and well, you're evil. But do you think you could do mine?"

Mal looks at her with confusion. "Why would I do that for you?"

Lonnie holds up a small bag of money. "I'll pay you fifty dollars."

"Good answer." Evie chimes in, taking the bag from Lonnie. "Kallie and I need to buy more material." She stands, glancing at Lonnie's short hair. "Let's see, I'm thinking we lose the bangs, maybe some layers, and some highlights."

Lonnie waves a dismissive hand. "Yeah, yeah. I want it cool." She glances at Mal with a smile. "Like Mal's."

Evie raises her eyebrows, staring at Lonnie with disbelief. "Really. The split ends, too?"

Mal sets the pencil down, glaring at Evie. Evie holds up the bag of money in an attempt to convince her to do this. Mal groans, rolling off the bed. She grabs her spell book as Evie sets the bag of money on the table. "Okay..." She opens her spell book and flips through it until she stopped on the right page. "'Beware, forswear, replace the old with cool hair'." She closed the book and with a wave of her finger, Lonnie's hair completely changed.

The bangs went away, her short hair grew long, she now had blonde highlights in her brown hair and her hair was curled. Lonnie walks over to stand in front of the long length mirror, staring at herself with wide eyes. "I know. I know." Evie said in sympathy. "It looks like a mop on your head. You know what? Let's cut it off. Layer it..."

"No, no, no, no, no, no!" Lonnie quickly interrupts Evie. She looks at herself in the mirror with a smile. "I love it."

Evie looks at her with disbelief. "You do?"

"It's just..." Lonnie rips the side of her dress. She grins. "Now I'm cool."

"You were already cool before but whatever." Kalia rolled her eyes. She didn't understand why these girls were changing themselves because they thought they didn't look cool. She didn't see anything wrong with Jane's haircut before Mal redid her hair or with Lonnie's haircut. But she decided to keep her mouth shut and not say anything.

Mal grins. "Like ice."

Jane steps in front of the mirror and rips the side of her dress. Then she gasps, covering her mouth as her eyes widen with fear. "What'd I just do? Mom's gonna kill me!"

(kalia's outfit for the rest of the chapter)

Kalia was walking in the hallway, talking with Flynnley the next day at school. "Carlos, twelve o'clock." Flynnley suddenly whispered to her, causing her to look at her with confusion and then looked in the way Flynnley gestured with nod of her head. Kalia couldn't help the smile that made its way to her lips when she saw Carlos walking over to her and Flynnley.

"Hey." Carlos greets with a nervous smile. "Kalia, could I talk to you privately?"

Flynnley chuckles and nods. "And that's my cue to leave. I'll see you guys later." She smiled, waving goodbye at Carlos and Kalia before she walked down the hallway.

"What's up, Carlos?" Kalia smiled at Carlos.

"I knew that you liked chocolate chip cookies so I, um, decided to bake you some." Carlos nervously said, showing her the ziplock bag he hid behind his back. In the ziplock bag were a few chocolate chip cookies.

Kalia's eyes lit up upon seeing them. "How'd you know I like chocolate chip cookies?"

"You, um," Carlos nervously rubs the back of his neck. "You mentioned it the night we hung out at the museum."

Kalia looks at him with surprise, her heart warming because he remembered a small detail like that. "Thanks, Carlos. That's very sweet." She takes the bag he offered to her. "I gotta try one now 'cause they look so good." She commented, opening the bag and taking one out.

"So," Carlos fidgets with his hands that were folded in front of him, smiling nervously at her. "Do you like it?" He asked after she took a bite of the cookie.

"I love it." Kalia admits, wondering why she was suddenly feeling strange inside. She pushed that thought away though when she realized how cute Carlos was. "I can't believe I never saw how cute you are. I mean, look at those freckles and that smile."

Carlos blushes faintly, not expecting that response from her. "Thanks, um," His eyes widen in realization as he realizes he gave her the wrong cookie. He must've accidentally put in a cookie with the love spell mixed into it. "Oh no." He muttered.

Kalia frowns, looking at him with concern. "What's wrong?"

"N-Nothing." Carlos quickly replies. "Nothing's wrong."

"Okay." Kalia said. She chuckles and shakes her head, smiling dreamingly at him. "I think you should become a baker because that cookie is amazing."

Carlos is quick to grab the cookie from her before she could take another bite. "How about you save the rest for later." He suggested with a nervous chuckle, putting the cookie back in the ziplock bag he took from her. She didn't seem to mind since she was too busy staring at him dreamingly which made it hard for him not to blush.

"So, uh, I gotta get to the Tourney game, but I'll see you later." Carlos smiled.

"Oh, that's right. Your Tourney game is today." Kalia remembers. She smiles brightly at him and kisses him on the cheek. "Good luck, Carlos. I'll be cheering you on from the bleachers."

"O-Oh, um, thank you." Carlos stuttered, blushing as he smiled shyly at her. He felt so guilty that she was acting like this because he accidentally got the wrong cookie and was even more guilty about that he actually liked her acting like she loved him. He honestly had a crush on Kalia and so Kalia being all lovey dovey with him was like a dream come true, but he had to figure out a way to make the spell disappear so she's go back to normal. He knew it wouldn't be right to keep her on the love spell. Besides the plan was only for Mal to put Ben on the love spell, not Carlos also putting Kalia on the love spell.

****

Carlos meets up with his friends before the game. "Okay, we got a problem." Carlos said. "I accidentally gave Kalia a cookie with the love spell in it."

Evie gasps. "What? That wasn't part of the plan."

"I know." Carlos sighs. "I wanted to give her some chocolate chip cookies since I knew she loved them, but I didn't want to spell her. Now I don't know what to do."

"We'll figure out some way to get her back to normal." Mal reassures him. "You and Jay just focus on the game for now, alright?"

"And hey, it can't be that bad, right?" Jay questions with a smile. "Now it's like you finally have a girlfriend." He shrugs and chuckles. "I mean, she probably already liked you that way before the love spell so that wasn't really necessary."

Carlos' eyes lit up and he looks at him with a hopeful look. "Wait, you think she liked me that way?"

"Guys, we can talk about this later. Go play Tourney." Mal ushered them away and they both nodded, quickly running towards the field to join their team as Mal and Evie went to go find where Kalia was sitting on the bleachers.

****

The game was tied up against Auradon's fiercest rivals. Kalia stood in the bleachers next to Evie, Mal, Flynnley and Lonnie (daughter of Mulan). Kalia smiles when she noticed Jay running onto the field, but that smile widen when she saw Carlos was going with him. "They're bringing Carlos on the field!" She cheered.

"And Jay." Flynnley added with a chuckle.

"Yeah, him too." Kalia shrugged. She then cheered along with the crowd, Evie and Flynnley joining her on cheering. Mal didn't cheer with them, but she had a smile on her face.

"He's bringing that hothead Jay in from the Isle of the lost and that little guy Carlos who can barely hold a shield." The announcer speaks. "When they break from their huddles, this is gonna be a big moment here. And the tip off is ready." The whistle then blows, signaling for the play to start. "Here we go."

"Long pass goes to Jay. Jay dishes off to Prince Ben. Nice little block by Carlos." The announcer noticed.

"Go, Carlos!" Kalia cheered.

Carlos does a little happy dance, happy he finally knocked someone down. He points the Tourney stick at the opponent. "Stay down."

"he does a little dancing jig in the opponent's face. And now Jay gets the ball back. Here comes Jay." Jay reaches the Kill Zone and the other team uses the Dragon Cannon on him. "Jay, hurdling maneuver at mid-field." Jay dodged each projectile that was aimed at one just like he did in practice.

"I'm open!" Ben shouted and Jay threw the ball at him.

"Jay makes a nice pass to Prince Ben through the Kill Zone." Ben catches the ball as Chad blocks an opponent who was heading to get the ball from Ben. "Prince Ben moves over wide, gives it back to Jay." Ben throws the ball back to Jay, who was closest to the goal. "He's in the clear! Shot!" The ball Jay threw at the goal was blocked by the goalie of the opposing team. "Oh! What a save by Phillip, the Falcon's goalkeeper!"

"Twenty-three seconds left." The announcer comments. "You could cut the tension with a sword. The long ball is played into Jay." Jay jumps to catches the ball and doges oncoming players as he starts to run towards the goal. "Jay, great jump, great leap. And a great move by Jay." Chad blocks an opposing player that was heading for Jay. "Big block from Chad. Jay dishes off to Prince Ben. And then Carlos with a big block, goes down." Kalia covers her eyes with a worried look on her face when she saw Carlos was knocked down. "Jay through the Kill Zone, picks up Carlos."

Kalia removes her hand from her eyes upon hearing that, smiling with relief when she saw Jay helped Carlos up. "He's being hammered by Dragon fire. Still going on."

"Get down!" Jay told Carlos. Carlos kneeled nd Jay uses him to help him miss getting shot at.

"Jay, hurdling maneureving at mid-field." The announcer said. "He's in the clear."

Carlos gets up and he and Jay start running. "The ball goes back to Jay."

"Hey, Jay!" Carlos called out to Jay, standing the closest to the opponent's goal.

"Carlos?" Jay questioned.

"Go up!" Carlos replied, holding his shield in front of him. Jay nodded, throwing the ball at Carlos' shield and Carlos hit the ball upwards with his shield. Carlos kneeled when Jay jumped over him

"Ben!" Jay got Ben's attention and he threw the ball he caught to Ben while Carlos got up.

"He passes to Prince Ben." The announcer says. Ben then throws the ball into the goal, this time the goalie missing it. "He scores!"

Everyone cheers and applauds loudly for the team. Kalia jumps up and down out of excitement along with Evie, Flynnley, and Lonnie. Mal covers her ears, wincing because of all the excited squealing happening around her.

"Prince Ben has won it!" The announcer excitedly shouts while the team hugged and high five each other. "What an unselfish play by Jay! What a team! Incredible! And it's the new guys, Jay and Carlos, who set up the prince for the winner. What a victory. An absolutely wonderful end to one of the best games ever!"

The cheerleaders then go out onto the field to congratulate the team. "Wait, what is Ben doing?" Flynnley questioned when she noticed Ben walking over to the announcer.

"No idea." Kalia replied.

"The winners of the first..." Ben stopped the announcer from continuing by grabbing the mic from him.

"Excuse me." Ben calls out, gaining everyone's attention. "Excuse me. Can I have your attention, please?" Everyone grew quiet and all looks at Ben. Ben steps onto the platform on the Dragon Cannon. "There's something I'd like to say." He then makes an 'm' with his hands. "Give me an 'M'!"

Everyone repeats his motion and shout 'm'. "Give me an 'A'." This time Ben made an 'A', bringing his arms back to his sides and everyone does the same. "Give me an 'L'." Lastly he made an 'L' with his hands and everyone copies him. "What does that spell?"

"Mal!" Everyone shouted. Kalia, Lonnie, Evie, and Flynnley all smiled at Mal, who stared at Ben with shock.

"Come on, I can't hear you!" Ben yelled.

"Mal!" The crowd yelled louder.

"I love you, Mal." Ben admits. "Did I mention that?"

Everyone cheers and all look at Mal with a smile. Mal had a slight blush on her face and she smiled slightly. Audrey whimpers and runs away, upset that Ben wasn't talking about her. "Give me a beat!" Ben said to the band.

"Uno, dos, tres, cuatro." Doug, son of Dopey, shouted and then the band started playing.

A/N i had to look up how to spell cuatro cause i had no idea lol
