Ch47: Fall Down

(Y/N POV - Mountainous Region - That Night)

We had spent all day following Inuko as she tracked Urasue down. With myself nearly crashing twice this morning before getting a proper nap in for a quick lunch break,

Note to self, try to make sure not to work on painting early in the morning before going to the Sengoku Jidai.

Either way that was pretty much the only time we made a stop this day. It has been really touch and go in the search for Urasue. Pushing us further and further inland of Honshū than we have ever been before. At least in the Sengoku Jidai. But eventually we had to stop as soon as we got here with the sun setting.

We were not risking another night ambush like with the Kumogashira, given that apparently Urasue could fly we would be nothing more open targets for her in this location.

There was an alcove where we managed to set up camp in, setting up a fire which I tried to sit back as far as I could from at first before accumulating to it.

Currently Kaede was fast asleep, wrapped up in what I presumed to be a large red, hemp cloth. With Shippō curled up right on top of her, snoring all the way.

A sight that just brought a smile to my face, and Kagome to gush over him as well.

Currently it was just me, her, and Yura awake in our camp. Inuko was currently both keeping an eye out for attacks and scouting out the best course for tomorrow.

Tried to argue against it. But she made the point that as much as she wanted to rip the onibaba to shreds more than almost everyone else, Kaede deserves to get the first shot in. Before mentioning a few choice places where said arrow should go before taking off.

She hasn't come back yet, but have seen her pass by the alcove a few times so we know that she hasn't gone that far from us.

"So you haven't felt anything yet?" I asked, getting Kagome to shake her head.

"Nothing at all like I've been saying all day. But you really sure she would be working up on this all night?" Kagome said, before shaking her head. "Never mind I can see that happening."

"And the hag's known to be very passionate about her work. The only good thing I can say about her master." Yura said, getting me to nod.

Kind of figured that would happen, but it couldn't hurt to check. Especially since there was no telling what could happen to Kagome if she did revive Kikyō.

It could be nothing or something bad, but we didn't want to risk it.

At first light we will move out to stop her...and I am pretty sure Kagome might join in on Inuko's decision once she got the chance. Than again Yura too.

Pretty sure myself and Shippō are the only ones not interested in ripping/slicing/shooting Urasue until she was mincemeat.

"Well there is nothing around us so far, but who knows what Urasue has lying up ahead." Inuko said as she entered the alcove. "But what I do know is that we aren't that far from where she had set up her anagama. I can smell a lot of clay and human remains up ahead, more than just Kikyō's."

"Meaning that Urasue probably has a number of shibito guarding the area around her." I said.

"Do you have any idea on what can we possibly expect from them?" Kagome asked me, getting me to ponder it for a few moments before shrugging.

"Somewhat, depending on what quality and of the origin human remains we could be facing seasoned warriors to near mindless soliders. Also depending on the quality they could be easy to break or not at all. And I also heard that some could be created to hold shōki in them which would be released after breaking." I said, getting Inuko to grimace.

"Okay I am really not looking forward to that if that hag has any of those lying around." She said before turning to Yura. "You're up for keeping an eye on things?"

"I would have even without asking." Yura said, some strands of hair extending from her hands as began to exit the alcove.

"Please be careful Yura." I said, getting her to nod.

"Don't worry, I will be master. But thanks." Yura said before she pulled herself away with her strands.

"Good to see that Kaede and the kit are fast asleep, I suggest the two of you do the same. It is going to be a long and bloody morning." Inuko said, to which I nodded.

"That goes especially for you Y/N." Kagome said with a smile, getting me to sigh and shake my head.

"You are not going to let that go anytime soon, are you?" I asked Kagome, only to get her to grin.

"Until tomorrow." Kagome said honestly

To which I sighed and shook my head.

"If you can jest then you can just as easily try and fall asleep. Although for any reason you two wake up in the middle of the night let me know if you do. Can't be too careful even if Yura doesn't spot anything." Inuko said getting the two of us to nod.

It was going to be a long morning after all...

"But what if Urasue does manage to bring back Kikyō before we even wake up?" Kagome said, getting Inuko to sigh.

"I don't know, but if she did I would still be able to track her if anything else happens. Honestly if that does happen I wish she would exterminate that hag herself." Inuko said, before shaking her head and looking down at the fire. "But I just want her to rest damn it, she at least deserved it."

She said the last part with a growl before shaking her head.

"Be sure to rest up, we'll finish this all soon." Inuko said before she closed her eyes.

Before we could say anything she laid down on the ground and immediately slumped. Her ears dropping as she let out a small grunt and twitched a little.

I think that it is safe to say she just crashed.

"Knew that this was bothering her almost as much as Kaede, but I didn't think that it was this bad." Kagome said while looking at her worriedly.

"It has only been a few weeks for her since she last interacted with Kikyō and finding out someone set her and Kikyō up back then. Now finding all this out, I can't imagine how she must be feeling." I said while sighing.

Inuko had been pretty good at hiding how much this bothered her all day. There were some signs, but it was difficult to really tell with her sometimes.

But crashing like that was a good indication of how much this might be weighing on her mind.

Can't even imagine what this might be like for her...

"Neither can I. She at least just wants to see Kikyō rest. Even now Inuko still cares for her to such an extent." Kagome said while moving next to me. "Did she ever say anything to you about it?"

"Something of the like, she is pretty much conflicted about it." I said to Kagome. Inuko might have asked me to keep quite about the new moon, but not on that.

"I see, do you think that she could tell us anymore about this?" She asked curiously.

"No, not unless she wishes too. Trying to force it out of her would be like sitting on the Sesshō-seki and intending not to die. Even then I doubt Inuko would be willing to do so right now." I said, getting Kagome to nod. "Especially since tomorrow is going to be a rough for us all, especially her and Kaede."

And for Kagome as well if the worst does come to pass tomorrow...

I was quickly broken out of those thoughts as Kagome hugged me.

"Things are definitely not going to be easy tomorrow Y/N. We have faced far worse than this so far and perhaps even more so in the future. But we have made it this far, we will do it again." Kagome said, giving me a reassuring smile.

Which I returned and hugged her back.

"I know, can't help but worry about us all. Things can and probably will go wrong. But you are right Kagome, we will make it through this." I said as he released each other and sat side by side.

"No way is it going to easy, but than again it never has." Kagome said with a smile while I nodded. Inwardly hoping that everything will go alright.

Tomorrow if things go wrong will be a harrowing day for us all in one way or another.

(Inuko POV = The Next Morning}

Kikyō no...not there..

We have too...

I stirred in as I woke, groaning as I realized that the sun hadn't even risen yet.

Just a dream, a pretty shitty one to have at this time. But why did I...you have got to be kidding me!

Looking down my kimono I saw Myōga was sucking on my blood once again! He stopped sucking my blood and jumped onto my shoulder.

"Lady Inuko I heard what happened to Lady Kikyō's shrine and rushed over as soon as I heard. Never thought that I would encounter you here, but I am glad to. There is also some-" Myōga said, but quickly jumped out of the way of me squashing him. "Lady Inuko?"

"I swore the next time that I saw you that I would squash you!" I yelled as I shot up and tried to squash at him. With him jumping away.

It took me a few moments and barely avoiding having to accidentally step on Kaede and Shippō before squashing him against the alcove's wall.

"That's for abandoning us during the Kumogashira!" I snarled out with a grin, only for it to turn into shock as the old flea fell away and the wall began to cough.

Wait that wasn't a wall...damn it!

"Y/N!" I called out to him as he doubled over, coughing and clutched his hands over his jewel shard!

"I think you lodged it even further in..." Y/N groaned out between coughs as they began to die down.

"Shit, I'm sorry Y/N." I said crouching down to him, but he waved it off after regaining his composure.

"It's fine, you were probably still mainly half asleep." Y/N said as he sat back up before looking at his surroundings. Still seeing the moon high in the air, but now the first bit of sunlight was showing. "Seems like we got up a bit earlier than the others."

"Blame Myōga for that." I said while shaking my head. "There is no doubt that the hairy bitch probably heard us by now. Should we wake the other up than?"

"Let's let them wait a few more minutes. Give them some more time to rest." Y/N said, too which I just nodded in agreement.

They could use it, especially Kaede.

"Fine than, it will probably take them that long to wake up anyway. After that we are not going to stop until that hag is dead and than throwing what remains of her corpse into her own anagama." I growled out, getting Y/N to wince. "I have been planning how yesterday."

"I can see that." Y/N said, while shaking his head. While Myōga jumped onto his shoulder. "So I believe that you came here after hearing about Kikyō, but you only found us here. I take it that you were nearby Myōga?"

"I was, I had found some important information about a town not that far from the foothills of these mountains when I heard about Lady Kikyō." Myōga said.

"And what did you find out?" Y/N asked as I leaned in a little closer.

"Something that can wait until after this whole mess with Urasue is resolved. I am certainly Lady Inuko has a few ideas on how to deal with her for desecrating Lady Kikyō's grave!" Myōga said, giving me a look.

"Believe me more than a few." I growled out, figuring out what he meant.

Whatever he must've found probably meant something related to Kirinmaru. It seems like just one disaster after another right now...

"That and I was worried about you Lady Inuko, about how you fell about it." Myōga said, getting me to grow.

Well he didn't need to-

"I agree with Myōga on this." Y/N said with a sigh before looking at me with concern. "Inuko you crashed last night and this has been bothering you all day. You are still conflicted about everything and this is only making things worse. We are worried about you, all of us. If you don't wish to talk about it I can understand, but I'll always have your back when you need it Inuko."

...Damn it.

Damn his bleeding heart...

I looked between Y/N and Myōga and the others in the alcove still asleep. And from what I can smell and hear the hairy bitch is still always out.

I took a deep breath before facing the two of them.

"Not a word of this to anyone else unless otherwise, got it!" I snarled out, getting Myōga to jump back and Y/N to nod.

"Of course." Y/N said, getting me to let out a sigh.

Perhaps it might be best to let out a little. Keep me more focused on killing that old hag.

"You remember what I said about some of my better experiences with the new moon...one such night was when I first met Kikyō. I had heard about the Shikon Jewel and went after it, by the time I arrived to the village unfortunately it was the night of the new moon. I found her on that night exhausted from defending the jewel, hidden. Yet Kikyō knew I was there, she didn't do anything and collapsed before Kaede and a few villagers brought her back. Couldn't bring myself to attack her on that night and didn't learn that she was guarding it until afterwards." I sighed out.

"Would you have attacked her even if you did know?" Y/N asked, getting me to shake my head.

"Nope I would have tried to get the jewel after making sure she was alright. Probably should have done that in the first place, but than again I was just a plain human at the time. Wasn't going to risk running from an angry village or that hag Mukade Jōrō coming after me until dawn. After that I tried to take the jewel from here multiple times, Myōga was there for one." I said with a smirk, getting Myōga to shudder.

"I was nearly speared through by one of Lady Kikyō's arrows." He said with a shudder. "But I did noticed that you seemed to act happier than I thought after the attempt failed."

Quickly taking a deep breath, but allowed a small smile as I remembered that time.

"I suppose that we did, with each encounter both me and Kikyō changed a little bit...we brought out the parts of ourselves we tried to keep hidden I suppose. Only a handful of others ever managed that and the only two currently living besides you Y/N are fast asleep." I said before growling. "Not a word to them."

"Don't worry I promise." Y/N said with a smile. "So Kikyō was the first person since your mother to bring that out of you."

"That's right, the first time we meet civilly was after slaying Mukade Jōrō to save Kaede back then." I said with a smirk.

Honestly it felt good being able to kill her a second time after they freed me. Might also because she was an easy target for my wrath at the time. Could be both.

I sighed and shook my head clear of those thoughts.

"After that we confided in each other and agreed to meet on the next night." I said, feeling my face heat up briefly. "After that we pretty much confirmed it and I had hoped that we had all put that behind us."

"Instead you two were tricked at the end. And with the possibility she might come back, you don't know how to feel about this Inuko?" Y/N asked, getting me to bite back a growl and look away.

He figured me out.

"We were together for nearly a year, yet I am still quite mad she strung me in that kami damned tree for 50 years!" I snarled before sighing. "Honestly I don't know what I feel for Kikyō now. It was hatred until finding out someone set us up, now I'm just uncertain. What I do know is that she deserves to rest."

Double checking to make sure the others were still asleep I told them something I never admitted to anyone else.

"The night before everything went wrong, me and Kikyō planned to meet in secret the next day. We planned to wish to become human and the Shikon Jewel away. No more priestess, no more hanyō, and no more jewel. Just the two of us and Kaede living among the villagers." I sighed out, shocking the both of them.

"Y-You were truly going to become human Lady Inuko?!" Myōga exclaimed, he quickly silenced himself as I bared my fangs before sighing.

"I was, but that dream died along with Kikyō and whatever happened to her that day. I only wish to become a full yokai now, but I will use my wish with whatever choice you want Y/N to get rid of that thing for good. The shards alone have shown to be too much trouble." I grumbled out as Y/N nodded. "Still haven't made your choice yet?"

"Not yet, I'm still thinking about that and probably will be for a long time." Y/N said, and I supposed he had a point. "And you're worried about what you will do if Kikyō is brought back to life."

"I don't know if I can fight back against her. I mean I know that I might have too, just that I would prefer that it never comes to that..." I sighed out.

No matter what will happen, I dread having to face Kikyō again. If that old hag does resurrect her, I do not wish to fight her. But I will if it comes too...though I doubt I would be able to finish her off...

I really hope that it will never comes to that...

"We'll figure that out if that does happen Inuko." Y/N said, breaking me from my thoughts. "But you have everyone here to back you up if that does happen. All of us don't want it to happen and I wish that it will never come to that. Yet no matter what we will have your back Inuko. Besides you have always done the same for me."

"And I have done the same for you." I said with a small smile. "We hanyo need to stick together."

"Yup." Y/N said, getting me to let out a small sigh.

Honestly I dread having to face Kikyō again...but I could at least take solace I wouldn't be doing so alone...

That I had those I can count on including Y/N and Kagome.

And I suppose Yura too...speaking of that hairy bitch.

"How much of that did you hear?" I called out, with Yura jumping down from the top of the alcove.

"Towards the end, I have gone my entire life without meeting Kikyō and still hope to do so. If the old hag does so I know master will have your back. So I will be helping cause I know master will be upset or get hurt otherwise." Yura said, getting me to roll my eyes.

"Fair enough I suppose." I said, getting up and stretching. "I'll go and see if the hag's scent has shifted to another location. You wake the others up, I'll be back in a minute."

"Alright, just take care." Y/N said as he got up and Myōga jumped onto my shoulder.

"Planning on it." I said before I began to walk off, looking back at him. "Thanks for talking with me...I kind of needed it."

"It's no problem Inuko and I'll keep quite. Just if you ever need anything else to talk to-" Y/N tried to say, before I cut him off.

"I'll be there. And if you feel the same way I'll try to see what I can do. I make no promises that what I say could be helpful considering our eras." I said, resuming walking away and hiding my face.

"Still I would gladly accept it." Y/N said, getting me to pause.

I looked back at him with a small smile for a moment before jumping away from the alcove.

(Yura POV)

For a while I had only suspected about the bitch held an interest in him. My suspicions only rose on the the night of those filthy headhunters.

This pretty much confirmed it.

Considering the old hag's plan I wouldn't want to be in Inuko's skin right now. Can't even imagine what she must be feeling at this moment. Nor do I really care at the moment.

"Yura how are you doing?" Y/N asked, to which I just smiled.

"I'm doing fine master, nothing happened tonight." I said honestly, getting master to nod.

"That's good to hear. And Yura can you please try to wake up Kaede, I'll wake up Shippō and Kagome." He asked.

"Of course." I said as we walked back into the alcove.

I spared one last glance at the bitch's retreating form before looking at Kagome, inwardly sighing.

After this whole debacle with the old hag is done, I am asking to see if Kagome had her answer. It has been nearly a week and a half since I gave her my proposal. And with our luck, the time for her choice might have to be soon.

(Inuko POV - A little ways away from the alcove)

"So what did you find out?" I said once I was confident that we were far enough away.

Honestly I did need to check for Urasue's scent incase she did succeed, she probably would have moved on or I could have picked up Kikyō's scent.

Yet we already had enough to deal with already.

"A tatarimokke has been seen around the town for a few nights now. I managed to sneak a peak at it two nights ago, it is definitely Yotsume. I would recognize his plumage anywhere." Myōga said, getting me to bite back a snarl.

"So any idea what he is doing there?" I asked, getting Myōga to shake his head.

"No, but the town has been besieged with trouble lately. Bandits have been disappearing through it and a brood of ōmukade had attacked the village not that long ago." Myōga said, getting me to groan.

It had to be a group of them.

Honestly I am not that surprised, given the location of the town according to Myōga. They and other centipede like yokai prefer hilly locations.

"Luckily Lady Inuko from what I heard they were either killed or driven off by a hanyo that visited the village." Myōga said, getting me to blink.

"Another hanyo around this part of Honshū? Been around a century since I seen one around here besides Y/N." I said. He was exempt due to being from another era and all. That and the brats on Hōraijima Island were off the main land.

Probably all dead too.

"From what I can hear he left town soon after, couldn't tell what kind of yokai he was. But I did find the cause of all this trouble." Myōga said with a sigh. "A jewel shard fell somewhere in the town the day it was shattered. They have been complaining of the trouble since."

"Well that's just great." I sighed out.

Now even if we wanted to avoid trouble, it would be best to get to it before someone else does. Especially ōmukade.

"Keep it quite until after Urasue is nothing more than corpse. We'll tell them the truth after we claim that shard, no matter if Yotsume is there or not." I said, getting Myōga to nod.

If this damned owl was working on orders from Kirinmaru or one of the retainers Myōga mentioned, than it was time to tell them. And with whoever was behind what happened 50 years ago things were getting even more hectic than it was.

Even before I was sealed it had been a long while since yokai had caused a majority of the devastation around Nippon. The humans had been doing that to themselves for years.

But it seems like soon, it will be the yokai's turn once again.

I shook my head to clear those thoughts as I picked up Urasue's scent and she hadn't moved from her location as all.

And no sign of Kikyō's.

Good, this is good. We still had time.

I quickly turned back and ran back towards the alcove.

We were almost there. Just a little longer and then we are going to send that onibaba to Yomi.

(??? POV - Urasue Anagama - Later that Morning)

From the way Urasue was gloating, Kikyō's resurrection should be complete soon. There had not been any sign of any more intruders since dealing with that kugutsu. Still there was no telling if whoever made it will come again.

I had asked Kawaramaru to increase the number of shibito soldiers to patrol the surrounding mountains. Better to be prepared just incase.

Currently the three of us were off to the side, with Enju hiding behind me and away from Kawaramaru as Urasue broke through the entrance to her anagama.

Personally I had no issue's with my two...siblings as Urasue calls us her children. An issue I disagree with. Although Kawaramaru takes no issue with the idea, calling her and myself mother and brother respectfully.

I believe he might not have had any family in life and admired my tale.

Still quite a surprise to find out that my story has spread throughout Nippon in the centuries since I first left this world.

Kawarmaru and Enju themselves never really got along unless I was there to balance them out. All three of us committing the sin of coming back to the land of the living by the onibaba's hands.

"She succeeded in bringing her back." Enju said as an orange light emerged from inside the anagama.

Urasue had brought back Kikyō and shattered her earthen casing than.

"You wish to check on her, don't you Enju?" I asked, getting her to nod. "Very well just stay behind me. Kawaramaru keep me posted if any soldiers have spotted intruders. It wouldn't do for a close call like yesterday." I said, getting Kawaramaru to nod with a grin.

"Gladly brother." He said, getting me to nod as I walked towards the entrance of the anagama.

Urasue was standing in front of the newly resurrected Kikyō, who was currently clutching one of the onibaba's herbs and without a shrewd of clothing. The miko outfit Urasue had was prepared was in the hut she had built nearby the anagama. With the dishonorable current monologuing about Kikyō's purpose to her.

She had the habit on doing that with all shibito she resurrects, I have learned that it was best to tune it out until she was done.

But something about this seemed off from all the other times she spoke.

Kikyō just stared blankly ahead, not even reacting to a word Urasue was speaking or her current condition. Even the shibito soldiers react in storm form. But there was nothing from Kikyō herself.

Curious, quite curious.

I wondered what was going on as Urasue began the final portion of bringing Kikyō back and infusing her yoki into the body, stabilizing the miko's soul within.

"It's not going to work." Enju said, getting me to turn to face her. "Kikyō's eyes they are like the shibito's soliders except with less life within. There is nothing with her body."

Wait, there wasn't a soul with that body? The only reason I could think off was the soul was gone, probably reincarnated.

I wasn't well versed in the knowledge of the soul, but the way Kikyō's body collided into the floor with a thud and Urasue stopped cackling confirmed Enju's point.

"Stay here." I whispered to her, getting Enju to nod as I approached the onibaba.

"W-What is this?!" Urasue shouted as she bend forward and pulled Kikyō up by her hair, exciting no reaction from her. "The soul hasn't returned!"

So Enju was right, she had already reincarnated. And only after a few decades as well. I would expect nothing less from the priestess I heard she was.

Urasue realized that as well and I brought out my sheathed sword.

"This is nothing more than a hollow shell in the form of Kikyō! Damn you for wasting all that time and effort! For setting me up for failure!" Urasue shouted as she tossed Kikyō to the ground.

Or she would have, if I didn't catch her and start to lower her body gently to the ground with my sheath.

"What do you think you are doing!" Urasue shouted, but I paid her no heed as I lowered Kikyō to the ground and faced her.

"Even if you consider this attempt a failure, it would only worsen your temper if this body was broken." I said, getting the onibaba to seethe. Yet ultimately seem to calm down slightly.

No matter what she could do now, I was content that her latest endeavor proved a failure and such a soul had crossed into a new life than under Urasue's control.

"Mother, brother there are more intruders heading this way. None like you described yesterday." Kawaramaru said as he entered the anagama, getting both of our attention as I gripped my tachi.

"Deal with them." Urasue said, to which I just nodded and walked towards the two of them.

"Kawaramaru remember what I told you yesterday." I asked, getting him to nod.

"Of course." He said, getting Enju to frown as she steeped away from him.

"I'll be back shortly, just please keep an eye on each other and out of sight if they get past me." I said, getting Enju to nod as I walked out of the anagama and past our camp. Hoping that they would be more honorable than whoever created that kugutsu.

(Kagome POV - Same Time)

I felt a faint shudder throughout my body as I watched both Inuko and Yura smash another pair of earthen molds on our way though this forest. Accordingly they held shibito that would awaken from their confines at any moments notice.

We haven't had that happen yet, but those two had been smashing all the ones in sight. For the past few hours. To thin out their numbers incase they were sent after us. And Yura described supposedly as a mercy.

These shibito were basically empty shells, the souls trapped inside to animate a solider that couldn't even think for anything except to attack. Can't imagine what it must be like for them.

We had been walking through this forest for a while, finally crossing over the mountains and close to Urasue to what Inuko said. And I looking forward to putting an arrow through her.

Shaking my head of those thoughts I saw Inuko smash through another earthen mold before taking a turn into the forest, noticing she seemed to more focused than she was yesterday. That or she was still hiding it.

But she also seemed more determined to see this through.

What happened this morning Y/N wouldn't say. He did told me that Inuko did open up a little and that she was conflicted on this besides it did seem to help her a bit like we thought. That and her reluctance to fight Kikyō which considering everything I can understand.

Yet what really surprised me was her new wish, one that it seem like she and I shared for Y/N and getting rid of the Shikon Jewel. He still hasn't made a choice yet and I don't expect him to make one soon.

Just like my own with Yura's proposal...better not focus on that. Already had enough to deal with at the moment and according to Y/N there might be more from something Myōga found out.

No rest for the wicked I suppose.

I quickly shook my head to clear my thoughts as we exited the forest to find a wide canyon filled with fog, spanning across it was a wooden and chain bridge. The other side was some more forest and a lone mountain with smoke coming from it.

"She is not that much farther away, once we cross that bridge we should be close. I can smell some more of those shibito there as well." Inuko said before letting out a sigh. "But her scent is being overpowered by what I can only assume to be several tan worth of herbs nearby."

"Than we better hurry, Shippō stay close to me." Kaede said, getting the kit to nod as Inuko walked in front of us and onto the bridge.

"Master stay behind me." Yura said as she followed suit.

"Alright." Y/N said while nodding and walking across the bridge. I followed after him, but stilled after just a few steps. "You okay Kagome?"

"I fine, just a little nervous about the height I suppose." I said honestly before feeling another faint shudder throughout my body. Really hoping that this was all it was.

And honestly we were pretty high up here.

"It's alright, I'm a little nervous about it myself. Let's just take it one step at a time and keep your eyes on those around you." Y/N suggested to which I nodded.

"Alright." I said before stepping further onto the bridge.

Following his advice helped to ease my nerves a little and soon made sure to keep my eyes anywhere but below or off to the sides of the bridge. Seeing everyone in front and behind me certainly helped out.

Still it took another minute or two before we were halfway through it before I felt another shudder through my body and gripped the edge of the bridge.

What was going on...oh no.

Please for the love of Amaterasu don't tell me that Urasue had actually succeeded!

"Everyone brace yourselves we have company!" Inuko yelled, getting my attention. Noticing that in front of us were lines of shibito in their earthen molds side by side that weren't there before.

I grabbed my hama ya as the shibito burst free from their molds.

"There's even more behind us!" Shippō called out, turning around to see a number of them gather and approaching from the other side of the bridge. Inuko and Yura might have cut a large number of them down, but there was still quite a lot.

"Everyone prepare yourselves, there is going to be quite some shaking." Inuko growled out as she crouched down and kept towards the shibito at the other end of the bridge.

Could have warned us earlier!

"Yura please get behind me, and I am going to need your assistance." Y/N said as he began to generate mist around himself.

Yura nodded as she slipped behind him as I notched an arrow. With Shippō helping Kaede notch an arrow.

Before we both let our arrows lose, destroying a pair of shibito as Inuko continued to smash them with her claws. Quickly notching another arrow and letting it lose into the chest of another shibito.

I kept repeating the process a few more times before they began to swarm us from the other side of the bridge.

Before the closest one to us got it's head caved in by a icicle attached by a strand of hair. The hair pulled back a bit before dragging the shibito off the bridge and retracting.

Looking back at Y/N and Yura he was generating icicles off of his body, with Yura breaking them off with her hairs. Flinging or stabbing them into shibito on both sides of the bridge and dragging the ones she stabbed off of the bridge or breaking them.

While useful was more slow going in controlling the number of shibito, they still kept pouring in on one side of the bridge. But thankfully it seemed that on the side where Inuko was decimating them there always a lull in which Y/N and Yura began to catch up to her.

I did the same after putting another arrow through a shibito's chest. Stepping back as Kaede tried to do the same. Given out distance from the others and her age Kaede was having a bit of a difficult time.

As the shibito drew closer to her Shippō clamored onto her shoulder before launching an arm full of firecrackers at them.

"Take this!" Shippō yelled as he fired some foxfire at them, triggering the firecrackers.

The resulting explosion only managed to destroy a one of them, yet stunned the rest of the group. Giving enough time for myself to smash one's throat in with an arrow,

And for Yura to destroy and dragged down a few with her hairs.

"Thank you Shippō." Kaede said as she retreated back, the kit grinned at her.

"No problem." Shippō said with a grin, throwing a lit firecracker at another shibito before it was smashed with an icicle.

Looking back at the other side it looks like they were starting to thin out. But on the side Inuko was still smashing the shibito there was a large gap between them and the bridge's exit.

Not sure how long that would remain, but I shot another arrow at a shibito's shoulder before catching up to Y/N and Yura. With him starting to pant a little.

"You okay Y/N?" I asked as he began to generate some more icicles.

"Just a little winded, looks like we are making it through to the other side for now. Not sure how long until reinforcements arrive." Y/N said as we began to catch up to Inuko.

"It might be sooner than you thought master, and this shibito is more human than the rest." Yura said, launching more icicles at the shibito behind us and drawing Benigasumi.

Seeing that entering the bridge was what appeared to be a elderly man with a scared face, a white gi with black patterns, and a sword sheathed at his sides. Even from here I can tell by the look of his face he wasn't like the others.

He must be the same type of shibito that Urasue wishes to bring Kikyō back as.

"Do you know who he might be?" I asked Yura, with her just shaking her head.

"Someone with a scar like that would have been known, perhaps you know master?" Yura asked, the both of us turning to face Y/N.

Only to see his eyes wide and him taking a few deep breaths.

"Y/N?" I asked him worriedly.

"I know who that is, it's Ryūma." Y/N said as he moved his hands towards Shūsui, shocking me.

Oh Yomi this is bad! I only heard of him from Myōga, but considering he was a match for Tōga and scarred him with weakened from plague this was bad!

Which was proven as he rushed straight towards Inuko!

(Inuko POV)

Finally they seemed to be clearing up.

It was getting pretty tiresome smashing these shibito, need to hurry up and-

"Lady Inuko look out!" Myōga called out, breaking me out of my thoughts as I saw someone quickly approaching me faster than any of the shibito were.

I tried to jump back, but the shibito caught up to me and proceeded to draw his sword.

Only to divert it to slicing up an arrow from Kagome.

That was too close.

"Not bad reactions, what I expected from a daughter of Tōga." The new foe said, a quick sniff confirmed that he was a shibito. But he seemed quite different from the others.

And seemed to know my father as well, great just what I needed as well today!

"Lord Ryūma, Urasue brought you back as well!" Myōga exclaimed, getting my eyes to widen.

Shit!

"You've seem to have gotten a little older Myōga, but alas Urasue has brought me back from the afterlife. A sin she eagerly relishes in unfortunately." Ryūma said as he got into a stance while I went to reach for Tessaiga.

"If you feel that way, then let us deal with Urasue and send you back there!" I growled, getting the shibito to sigh as I noticed a number of others starting to emerge onto the other side of the bridge.

"Unfortunately I am grateful for this second chance at life, and dishonorable to go against Urasue while she is still alive. As much as I disagree with her actions. But you are too late if you are here for Kikyō, she brought her back. Unfortunately without her soul, meaning that she is just an empty shell in her shape." Ryūma said, shocking me.

We were too late...she brought back Kikyō without her soul...

(Kagome POV)

"No..." Kaede said as she notched another arrow, all of us hearing the revived ronin's words.

Another faint shudder filled my body...no that wasn't a shudder. Something I had been dreading.

I was Kikyō's reincarnation, it might be my own soul reacting to her new body. Considering the soulless nature of it...I do not want to imagine what my soul is trying to do...

(Inuko POV)

Urasue brought back Kikyō without her soul...

I don't know wether that can be considered a mercy or a rather cruel twist of fate...

But I do know one thing...

I am going to rip that onibaba's body to shreads before burning her in her own anagama!

"Sankon Tēsso!" I growled out, channeling yoki through my claws as slashed at Ryūma.

Who just sidestepped it and swung his tachi, cutting into my shoulder.

I grunted in pain as the shibito took a step back to cut through another arrow from Kagome, digging my claws into the wound.

"Hijin Kessō!" I shouted, flinging the blood blades at Ryüma. Expecting at least one of them to hit him.

To my surprise he swung his tachi, cutting through any blood blades that got near him except for one or two that nicked his sides. The dispelled blades flying off to the sides of him while the rest managed to hit the shibito approaching him or the canyon wall.

Okay seriously, was this guy even human while alive! He should have been hit even a bit more than that!

"Not bad." Ryūma complimented as he sheathed his sword and crouched down.

"Lady Inuko jump back now!" Myōga warned, and I needed his advice.

Unfortunately it seemed like Ryūma quickly closed the distance before I could jump back. For a second I thought I was getting cold feet. Before realizing that it was literally that as mist traveled along the bridge's floor and rose up to form a thin ice barrier.

The tachi sliced through the barrier, but I managed to claw at his right arm.

Ryūma didn't even grimace and swung the tachi once again, to which I jumped back.

Only for Y/N to block it with Shūsui. The shibito looked at it in surprise for a moment before stepping back.

"You alright Inuko?" Y/N asked.

"I'm fine, could have been a lot worst off." I said looking to see more shibito pouring in from both sides.

Just how many of these things are there?

It didn't look like things were so bad on the side with Ryūma with Kagome and Yura dealing with the approaching numbers with arrows and Benigasumi. Although Ryūma began to recover from his surprise and cut through the arrow and presumably Yura's hairs when he could.

As for Kaede and Shippō, they looked like they were starting to become overwhelmed by the numbers. Their firecrackers, arrows, and the kit's top were keeping them at bay, but the shibito were quickly closing in.

Damn it.

"Y/N think you can manage him for a little bit. This won't be long." Inuko said, getting him to nod.

"Alright." Y/N said taking a deep breath as mist began to gather around him.

"Good, just be careful." I said before jumping to the other side of the bridge and smashing a shibito underfoot. Wince a little from the gash on my shoulder before proceeding to smash the remaining shibito.

Hoping that Y/N could hold that shibito back for a little bit till the numbers thin out again.

(Y/N POV)

There is no possible way I could stand up for long against Ryūma. Just needed to buy some time.

"Yura?" I asked, getting her to nod.

"You don't need to say anything master." Yura said while flexing her fingers, her hairs stretching from them.

"Just please be careful Y/N." Kagome said as she notched an arrow and shot it at a shibito.

"I'll try." I said, tightening my grip on Shūsuias Ryūma sighed as he got into a stance with his tachi.

"I would never thought that I would ever find someone who would fulfill Shūsui's condition, that is if Tōga fulfilled my will." Ryūma said, to which I nodded.

"Myōga confirmed it himself, never thought I would ever meet you alive." I said, getting Ryūma to shake his head.

"Neither that Shūsui would chose a yuki-onna hanyo, but I think I can see why." Ryūma said, deflecting an arrow from Kagome off the bridge. "There is no honor in this conflict or what you wish to achieve. Kikyō has been brought back as a husk and all that is left is Urasue."

"Pretty sure everyone else on the bridge besides my self and Shippō wants her dead for that principle alone, minus a few personal reasons. Honestly I just hope we can at least do something to help Kikyō in some way." I said honestly.

I wasn't sure how we could help her considering that accordingly Kikyō's soul hadn't returned since she reincarnated. At least hopefully we can help her find peace considering the circumstances of her first death.

At this Ryūma smiled and took a step back.

"So it would seem that Shūsui chose correctly. Neither of us wish for this to happen. Yet it must be done." Ryūma said, before making a sweeping motion with his sword. Cutting through Yura's hairs.

She let out a pained groan and before I could ask what had happened, the shibito rushed forward. Forcing me to block with Shūsui.

Trying not to wince from the force of the blow, before making a hastily constructed ice barrier to block a slice of his tachi directed to my head.

Quickly closing the distance and trying to slash at my chest several times, to which I blocked with Shūsui each time. Yet with each time I could feel the force from his blade straining my arms to block, getting harder and harder to defend as I began to condense the mist around my body.

Ryūma raised his tachi up to strike me from above, diverting it away to block an arrow from Kagome and Benigasumi before Yura pulled me back with her hairs.

"Thanks for that Yura." I panted out.

"No problem master, but be careful he can channel reiryoku through his sword. It's not much, but it will burn." Yura warned, getting me to wince.

Very few in recorded history could do such a thing, and there was one who was a legendary swordsman without it...we really need to get out of here.

"Judging by your skills you are a still new to the way of the sword. Still they are not bad, but let's see how they continue to hold up." Ryūma said, a small smile as his face as he rushed forward.

I did 't have any time to block, so I used the condensing mist to form a makeshift ice arm around my chest and midsection. Doing nothing more than giving me a few centimeters of protection.

Which proved next to nothing as he slashed through it and into my chest.

I tried to hold back a yell of pain, but it only increased as he landed another two slashes. He would have gone for another, but took a moment to block Benigasumi and slice through some of Yura's hairs.

Giving me time to retaliate by slashing with Shūsui into his chest. Tearing into the gi and I thought that I heard a small crack before Ryūma pulled back. Quickly dispelling the makeshift ice chest plate and proceeded to refill my lungs with air.

Could barely breath with that on...need to work on that later.

"Y/N how are you holding up?" Kagome said, notching another arrow and firing at Ryūma. He dodged it, the arrow piercing a shibito behind him in the head.

Before Yura retracted Benigasumi and leapt at the revived ronin in retaliation, using her hairs to avoid his tachi.

"They're only skin deep thankfully." I groaned out.

Figuring that armor, Ryūma possible not giving much of an effort here, or both that the gashed were only this deep instead of much more serious. It's going to need a few to fully heal these up though.

"We really need to figure out a way to get out of here." Kagome said, getting me to nod as I began to freeze the cuts closed.

Looking behind us it seems like the shibito behind us were thinning out once again due to Inuko. Yet there was still a small number of them and Ryūma to get past too, and that was no easy task.

Before I could think of a suggestion, the was a loud buzzing sound erupted around the bridge. All activity began to cease as all of us and Ryūma began to look for the source. Of it.

The sound of buzzing grew closer and closer, reminding me of a suzumebachi before I recognized what that buzzing sound was...we needed to get out of here.

"Y/N do you know what that is causing that?" Kagome asked as we started to walk forward as Kaede and Shippō caught up.

"It is a swarm of Saimyōshō heading this way." Yura answered as she moved to besides me.

"Think of a gigantic suzumebachi, much more dangerous yet almost as aggressive." I said, getting her to look nervously.

Not a moment later the swarm emerged from the canyon and descended onto the bridge.

However they avoided us, and only targeted the shibito. Swarming and stinging them, managing to drive some off of the bridge or in the process of smashing them. A majority of them swarming on Ryūma, but being quickly cut down by him just as quickly as they appeared.

"Okay I am not sure why any are only attacking the shibito nor do I care, let's just get away before that changes." Inuko said getting myself, Kagome, and Shippō to nod.

"Don't need to tell me twice." Kagome said as she notched another arrow.

"And unfortunately I can not allow that." Ryūma said, cutting down another group of Saimyōshō as he began to approach us. "I am dealing with all intruders after Kikyō, sadly I must make sure you must not pass before making sure the one controlling this swarm is properly dealt with this time."

Another intruder...

"Well stop with that Ryūma and grab the chains!" A voice called from above us, looking up to see Urasue. Matching Kaede's and Yura's description of her.

Kagome trained her arrow towards her, ready to fire her arrow as the tip glowed violet with reiryoku. Urasue just grinned an swung her scythe down, slicing the bridge in two.

(Kagome POV)

I shot the arrow before hurriedly grabbing the side of the bridge to avoid falling into the canyon!

The fact pieces of the bridge were breaking apart, that it was falling to the cliff side, and there were shibito falling everywhere! Thankfully the remaining Saimyōshō seemed to have targeted Urasue now, but that was the only positive!

Inuko left off the bridge as it was falling, aiming towards Urasue.

Only to plummet down into the fog snarling as a number of shibito jumped on her from the bridge, managing to fling one into the cliff-face before disappearing.

"Kagome!" I heard Shippō call out from behind getting me to turn to see him clinging to Kaede as they were sliding down the bridge.

"Quickly grab on!" I yelled as I extended my hama ya to them as they quickly reached to where I was. Kaede grabbing the bow with her good hand as I struggled to keep myself secure on the bridge.

Shippō quickly reached into his kimono as Kaede tried to reach her foot into one of the supporting links. I struggled to support them before the bridge slammed against the cliff, nearly dislodging me and knocking my hama ya out of my hand!

"Kaede! Shippō!" I called out as they fell into the fog.

Shippō pulled out a leaf and in a puff of smoke grew to gigantic size underneath the two of them, gently gliding down into the fog.

I let out a sigh of relief at that, they will be alright as long as the leaf lasts...hopefully it will by a while.

And knowing Inuko that fall probably just inconvenienced her at most, as well as aggravate her shoulder wound.

I just hope that they will be alright

Right now I need to focus on getting back up.

I pulled out an arrow from my quiver so I wouldn't be defenseless and struggled to climb up the remains of the bridge.

Looking up I saw that Urasue was still dealing with a few Saimyōshō, but I wasn't sure for how much longer than she would be busy.

On the other side it seemed that Ryūma had survived, clutching onto the sides of the bridge. And to my relieve so was Y/N, one hand an icy claw stabbed into the boards while the other clutched his chest and Shūsui embedded just a little higher up. Probably injuring him again.

Down below Yura rose out of the fog on her hairs, yanking a shibito's blade from her midsection.

So it seems everyone was alright, battered but alright. Just needed to get back up and-

"There you are!" Urasue shouted as she rocketed towards me, the last Saimyōshō falling down into the mist.

She grabbed me with one arm as I tried to stab her with the arrow, but Urasue just slashed it with her scythe. Breaking the half of it off.

But I grinned as I stabbed the other half into her shoulder. Taking some satisfaction in her pain.

Which quickly died as she smacked me with the blunt end of her scythe on my head, stunning me as she adjusted her grip so my arms were pinned before seeing the scythe blade pressing against my neck. Seeing my own reflection in the blade.

"You are lucky I need you alive girl! Otherwise I would have killed you for what you just done!" Urasue said as she began to fly off, seemingly rather annoyed at having the broke end of and arrow jabbed into her shoulder.

"Let me go!" I growled out, trying to struggled and kick her.

But from the broken arrow and myself barely being able to do this old hag was stronger than she appeared to be.

"If I do that you will die, something that I can not allow that to happen." Urasue said before grinning. "Still I admire your ferocity girl, that arrow shows you do possess some of Kikyō's talent. A shame it went to waste."

"Like what you brought back in her place!" I growled out, only to feel the shudder of my soul as her grin widened.

"True, but you are literally what I need to fully bring her back." Urasue said, dread filling me at figuring what she was going to do.

She was going to use my own soul to bring back Kikyō's...

No, I can not allow that to happen!

"Like Yomi you will!" I growled out, struggling with all my might. That only seemed to amuse the onibaba.

Until she had to veer out of the way of sword thrown at her.

"Hands off the girl old hag." Yura said calmly as she used her hairs to come after us.

"I think not, this is payback for last time!" Urasue yelled as she flipped her scythe and swung it a few times.

Yura used her hairs to dodge blades of winds, but one managed to cut through her right arm. Urasue grinned as wisps of white flame emerged from her scythe.

And unleashed a torrent of white flames that Yura got caught up in!

I looked in shock as her now smoking body crashed down onto the cliff edge, before glaring at Urasue pressed the scythe at my throat again.

"I'll deal with her in a moment, but how about we watch your other friend plundge to his doom as pay back for destroying so much of my hard work!" Urasue growled out as she flew towards the canyon.

Looking at Yura I saw that her body was lying still and smoke was still coming off her, but I saw that strands of her hair branching into the forest and off of the cliff towards Y/N.

Yura, Y/N I hope the both of you will be alright after whatever she has planned along with the others.

We have faced far worse than this...although if Urasue succeeds I will have my soul ripped out of my body and I dread what she would do with both Kikyō and Ryūma under her control.

But whatever it is you might have planned, I am confident that everyone will make it.

And if Urasue thinks she can take my soul, than she will be mistaken if I am going to give that up without resisting with whatever way I can!

(Y/N POV)

From the looks of it hopefully Inuko, Shippō, and Kaede were alright, cause the rest of us weren't. Urasue took Kagome and Yura went after her, but the wisps of white flames were not a good sign.

What ever was going on I needed to find out...yet that was slow going.

Trying to find foot holds with this bridge kept falling apart wasn't easy. My claw helped my climb up the bridged, but I wasn't sure how much longer I can hold on.

Yet the worst part was perhaps that Ryūma seems to be getting some solid foot holding, one hand on his tachi and the other still gripping the bridge. It wouldn't be long before he got down to where I was.

Wasn't in any good condition to resist. Wasn't sure how much longer the bridge under my feet would last. That and it slamming into the cliff face broke the ice over my wounds.

In pain and out of options, my only way was up to a sword wielding shibito or down towards the canyon floor and I can't see the bottom through the fog. And Shūsui was out of reach.

Thinking of a risky solution, I dug the fingers of my free hand into my cuts. Wincing as I began to look for a better foothold up, generating mist with my free hand.

Just needed to get a little closer...

"If I didn't have somewhere else to be I would flay you alive for destroying years of my work like the others, but I have something more important to do! Ryūma get rid of him however you wish!" Uranus said, floating down with Kagome struggling in her arms.

I glared at her before feeling something trailing down my arm and into my gi. Looking at it I saw that it was one of Yira's hairs. It jerked back as it made contact around my hand before I canceled the flow of yoki there.

Wrapping around it and soon felt a few more wrap around me and saw a few more surrounding me. One wrapping around Shūsui's hilt as well as Ryūma was getting close to me and draw his tachi.

Looking up I saw Yura peering over the edge and the hair around my wrist tightened and loosened. Looking at Urasue, it seemed that she was more concerned about my suffering to notice.

Kagome however stopped struggling and nodded.

I took a deep breath and pour more yoki into my hand as I made a quick change of plans as Ryūma dropped down near me.

"I apologize that it has come to this." Ryūma said, pulling his tachi back. "I'll make this quick."

"I can say the same thing." I said before Yura's hair uncoiled itself and threw a small, jagged red icicle at Ryūma.

He tried to cut it, but with a flick of her hair split the icicle in three right before he could slice through all of them. One of them impacted his just.

Ryūma seemed only a little surprised before we heard Urasue grunt as Kagome kicked her with whatever strength she could muster.

I quickly dispelled the ice claw on my hand, allowing myself to fall back as Yura jumped off the cliff edge, taking Shūsui with her as well.

The last thing I saw before my vision was filled with fog was a few Saimyōshō flying up to Ryūma and Urasue.

(Ryūma POV)

A dishonorable tactic, but never the less I had to admit a clever one.

I let out a sigh of relief as I sheathed my blade and climbed up the chains and the rest of the bridge's remains as a pair of Saimyōshō followed after me. Quickly making to the top and drawing my tachi, slashing one of the chains.

The rest of the bridge gave way and fell off the cliff, taking the Saimyōshō down with it.

Urasue quickly shot upwards from the canyon, a group of three Saimyōshō flying after her. Before they turned their attention towards me.

Sheathing my blade I shot forward, drawing it and spliting two of them in half. The final one tried to sting me, but it was quickly dealt with as well. Before turning and slice up a tendril that would have struck me from behind.

The end quickly retract and through the foliage I saw the same pelt clad yokai from yesterday, retreating away from the direction of the anagama.

Perhaps this was the original yokai, or another kugutsu. Either way they were still controlling the Saimyōshō and getting in Urasue's way.

"Was that the same intruder from yesterday?" Urasue demanded like I thought she would, the girl in her arms glaring defiantly and struggling to break through.

"Yes they were, the yokai might be setting up a trap or going after Kikyō." I said, getting her to growl.

"Deal with that yokai, drive them off or kill it and take some shibito with you. With her reincarnation I should finally revive her!" Urasue said, getting me to frown.

"And what if the others come for her?" I inquired.

Urasue was playing with something that was considered more taboo and sinful than bringing back the dead, messing with the cycle of reincarnation to bring back someone lost. A realm only the divine held any influence over.

"I'll deal with them myself if they get past the all the others, restoring Kikyō is all that matters. Return to me once this intruder has been dealt with!" Urasue ordered before flying off into the distance, the girl still struggling.

As she flew away I sheathed my tachi and removed the blood icicle from my chest, inspecting it before throwing it into the ground and following after in the direction of the pelt clad yokai.

Urasue had really brought down more trouble than she had expected with Kikyō. While it was dishonorable to think so, but it was clear to me she might not life to see another day. And if she did, messing with the flow of reincarnation like this was a guaranteed way to the deepest pit of Yomi. Perhaps even to the bottom of the afterlife itself.

Still I will not know for sure and until than and I will continue with this task, even if it is mainly to ensure Kawaramaru and Enju should be safe. And hopefully the two of them will be.

Still I can at least take some solace in that Shūsui had made an interesting choice in a wielder, seemed to have a good head on his shoulders too. Skills with a blade mildly disappointing, but seemed to have some potential.

Some more time and training with the blade and his powers and he might be the one...

No time to focus on that, I have to deal with the intruder first.

That and Urasue ordered that she would deal with them herself. Seeing how stubborn a majority of them were, a sheer drop like that will only inconvenience them.

So if Urasue is confident enough to deal with them, than I shall see whether her choices and sins finally catch up to her or not.

(Y/N POV)

"How are you holding up Yura?" I asked here while generating a lot of mist, having sealed up the gashes again and making sure Yura would stop smoking.

Alongside trying not to look down as we were suspended up in the fog by her hairs.

"I'm fine now master, the old hag's fires were more irritating than damaging to my body. Didn't mean that they sting like Yomi though." Yura said, getting me to nod as I stopped generating mist. "And master I'm sorry about-"

"It wasn't your fault Yura, you tried to get Kagome back while I couldn't." I sighed out, while cutting her off.

"And the old hag is planning on using her soul to restore Kikyō's own. Knowing that Kagome is stubborn it will be difficult, but we don't have much time left master. Especially if this intruder is what I think it is." Yura said, getting myself to sigh before nodding at her words.

What Urasue was doing was forbidden and will probably take some time. And Yura was right about Kagome's stubbornness and tenacity. If the broken arrow in her shoulder was of any indication, Kagome was going to fight tooth and nail to prevent it.

Heck there might a small chance she could kill Urasue herself before that happens. And while I can see that happening, we needed to make sure Kagome was alright.

Especially if what Ryūma mentioned and the swarm of Saimyōshō showing up is of any indication, than the one who tricked Inuko and Kikyō was nearby as well. Likely to prevent her resurrection as well.

"Let's make sure everyone else is alright first and tell them what is happening before we face Urasue." I said, getting Yura to nod.

"Sounds good master, the bitch is going to be out for their blood more than ever now." She said as we began to descend, getting me to nod.

Saving Kagome before Kikyō was restored was the main priority. Between her of brought back, Ryūma, and this yokai thing were not looking good for us. And Inuko would probably go after them. If they didn't cover their tracks like they did after unleashing the Ne no Kubi.

But they could wait until after saving Kagome and getting out of this area alive.

I just hope we will be able to reach her in time...

(Chapter 47 end)

Hey guys Mukuro7 here and I hoped that you all enjoyed this chapter.

And as a quick aside, if anyone has a better chapter name I am open to suggestions.

We have reached the mid point of this arc, we're things are at their lowest point. Besides that some bonding between Y/N and Inuko, Yura planning on getting her answer soon from Kagome, and Myōga setting up things for after this arc.

For the next arc in particular, well I elaborate on that next chapter but we are going off the rails with canon once again big time.

Anyway next chapter the group manages to confront Urasue, but things go wrong for everyone as Kikyō is brought back from the dead. I hope that you all will enjoy the next chapter when it comes out.

So until next time, ciao!
