Chapter-20

Despite her typically cheerful demeanor, she approached me with her legs in a contented sprint, yet the timing was unexpectedly inappropriate.

"Hey Rebecca, what are you doing here?" Addy asked.

"Um nothing...much crucial."

"Oh yeah? But why did you need my horse though?" She didn't await my answer and went on to pat her horse but I was only concentrated on my agenda.

"Addy can you leave please?"

"Wait what? What do you mean?"

"Look. I'm really busy right now, so I don't have the time to talk to you. See you at school tomorrow?"

"Rebecca, are you ignoring me? I know we haven't talked face to face for 4 years straight but you can't really_"

"No, Adeline, please stop making assumptions. First of all, you keep bothering me over and over again. Secondly, you accuse me of ignoring you? What kind of brat are you? Don't you have other friends, or are you just insensitive?" I paused, realizing the exaggeration of my words. I regretted every word I said but had nothing left to say except to apologize.

"I... I thought that heartfelt communication was what true best friends needed, but..." Tears welled up in the corners of her eyes, and in an attempt to hold them back, she covered her mouth and ran away.

"No, no Addy!" I called out to her many times but her little frame disappeared as she ran.
My heart was aching both mentally and physically, and the previous bitterness on my face flew away to a weary sadness.

What was happening with me?

"Something you might regret , Reccy."
I disregarded Casper's whispered words and became resolute in my determination to concentrate on my mission.

I was about to exit the forest-, with only a faint hope but that's when I realized I left the horse by mistake.

"And seemed like luck finally decided to change its side." Casper scoffed.

A tiny beam of dark light shone above the horse's back.

"Is-is that a damn pixie?" I asked Casper in a hushed tone.

"Finally."

"Oh darling, your mischievousness has met its inevitable fate!"  I yelled enthusiastically before running towards that pixie with my ariel insect net.

I positioned the net behind the horse and successfully captured the pixie. However, the moronic horse also got caught in the net and defensively kicked me with both of its legs, causing my body to go back, smacking with a tree.

"And now the pretty audience enjoys the smart plot twist of our luck."

"Stop being an invisible unwanted host and lend a hand here!" I complained.

He forwarded a visible hand for me and I frowned, "Why the hand?"

"You said to lend a hand."

"Ughhh, I can't stand you! You... ughh!" I tried to swat his hand away, but he magically made it vanish. "I'll deal with you later."

I relied on my personal equilibrium mechanism to get up but lost my footing due to the slippery surface.

"Stop laughing and actually lend me your hand this time!"

He genuinely extended his assistance, and I rose with the intention of pursuing the elusive pixie who had likely disappeared completely.

My eyes fell on the net and I witnessed a tiny brilliant tangerine coloured celestite crystal glowing in the dark.

"Yes! It's the pixie's Sepphire Crystal, which contains all its power including his capability to turn invisible_"

"Which means he can't really turn invisible or contact his fellow mates, so we still have time to find him!" I exclaimed joyfully, interrupting his statement.

I pushed my hand into my pockets to get my other teammates and utilize their presence for the while. I explained the situation and said to find him, for it would be easier for them to find someone their own size.

"Now run along!" I waved my hand and went myself for the search.

After almost half an hour, I rested on my knees and bowed my head down. Just as I lifted it, my eyes caught that same faint dark light.

There he was. Widened captivating and mischievous cat-eyes of cerulean coloured thinking with a sense of wonder and fright at my sight. It had a small, delicate frame with a slender and graceful posture. It's skin was fair, radiating a faint luminescence. It seemed to possess ethereal wings, delicate and translucent, which enable them to flutter and hover in the air. The hair was vibrant and colorful, an iridescent shade of blue. They have captivating, mischievous eyes that twinkle with a sense of magic and wonder
He was about to take a turn so instantly I got up from the ground but he already made a run for it.

And for the first time, luck decided to pay me my debt.

Despite being surrounded by miniature versions of all my other friends, he still made efforts to break free.

"Joey? Don't you think you had too much of deprivations for two days by just this tiny body?" I poked her, but only for I knew the result.

"Rebecca, this guy is burdened with an overwhelming amount of debts that he cannot fulfill. I even sacrificed participating in my skating contest for all this nonsense!" She exhaled a deep breath and tapped her knuckles against her other hand while wearing a mischievous smile.

"First let's see if you can live. Then participate in the contests loser." The pixie giggled shamelessly, infuriating Joey's anger to an intense level.

Regarding what I anticipated, Joey physically leaped onto him. She proceeded to strike him on his back while we found amusement in his expressions of pain.

Afterward, she stood up and seized his hair, forcefully bringing him down to the ground. To conclude, she continued to repeatedly hit his posterior.

Following a satisfying attack on the small creature, we warned him that his life was at stake if he didn't reveal the entrance to us. However, he proved to be stubborn and unyielding.

Fortunately, we had Joey, who was more than capable of handling the situation.

The split-splitting scene ended just as it started; by and by the pixie agreed and we gave him his crystal. He endeavoured for a sly escape, but well we had Joey again.

She pinched his ear and pushed him towards the tree where he told it was the way.

"Hihaclo jentari!" He stuttered in a loud tone and it created an exotic green portal but too much tiny for me to go inside. We all thought for a while to what to do, with the pixie still in captive.

"Got it! Okay look. Going to be straight. All four of you get inside and I'll guide through my ear pods."

"But wait. Look this pixie has pristine olive skin an-and some weird features. And they will easily recognise us." Travis stated and I again gave it a thought.

"Wait, doesn't anyone's spirit have any power to...to you know give a makeover? Like_"

"Oh yeah yeah. I completely forgot. My stepdad's got the power. Some sort, you know? Nice thinking though girl." Joey uttered and without any further ado, we set off forward to our schemes.

Joey's complexion transformed from pale to a yellow hue, accompanied by a sprinkling of freckles and distinctively shaped nose and ears. They adorned themselves in stylish attire. Clay underwent a change, acquiring a darker appearance while retaining the aforementioned features. The remaining two individuals obtained sun-kissed tones. Clay, in addition to his fashionable clothing, tucked ear pods beneath his attire, resulting in a slightly more robust appearance.

As they passed through, I continuously directed them to proceed straight to the king, using persuasive language to gain entry to the castle.

Before the portal closed, I opted to take a quick look inside, and something unexpectedly touched my eyes. I couldn't determine if it was dust or some specific item, so I disregarded it.

The Bluetooth connection remained stable, and they engaged in negotiations with various shopkeepers for an item that they were believed to "steal." Must've been Clay.

I was about give them some advice on the quarrel but abruptly, flashes of a particular scene hit me consistently. Electric pain behind my eyes made my head pound heavy and spinning.

Unable to resist the pain, I rested my head in my hands and began to rub my temples. It soon stopped and a vision came into my head.
Pixie dust hung in the air while the tiny beings dove through it, lastly elixir. They all were pixies spinning through the air and seemingly market places. The place was gloomy in the cool dusky air but with appalling fancy clothes.
And there I saw them walking down the streets.

"I-I can see you guys!" While laughing, I notified them, feeling a mix of amusement and perplexity, as they too were baffled by the situation. But that also meant, it facilitated my ability to direct them towards the sights that lay well beyond my own observations.

They came across some guards who were rather short in stature and appeared to be quite tough. The guards wore fitted tunics that accentuated their slender frames, featuring pointed collars and sleeves that flared out at the wrists.

"Oh hey man! What's up?"Clay initiated the action alongside Joey and the rest of the group, eagerly anticipating a reaction from the pixies that resembled statues. However, despite their hopeful anticipation, not even the tiniest hint of a response was observed from these motionless and seemingly lifeless creatures.
"We are the...cobblers and chefs from a faraway country. Fro-from Antarctica! Amazing faraway country, must I say!"

"Most wondrous faraway state thee sayeth?" One guard cocked his eyebrow with suspicion and immediately colour drained out of Clay's face. He used a single finger to adjust his collar, perhaps to allow some air in, while swallowing nervously. Poor guy.

"Indeed sir. That's whateth I sayeth. Now couldeth you taketh us to the great incredible king?"

The guard was silent and whispered something to the other guard's ear.

"Nay, f'r the ones who is't doesn't knoweth yond the king is a queen, thee might not but nev'r ent'r. Anon runneth hence 'r visage thy consequences!" He yelled threateningly and Joey came forward, "Let me do the talking and you do the ending. " She smirked but Clay didn't comprehend her signs.

"She meant she would distract the guard whilst you sneak into. But anyway didn't any of you learn law? I mean we would love to get a lawyer right now." I scoffed through the air pods but Clay grunted, "And I thought I was the one doing diversions."

"Go Clay!" We all whispered together and instantly regretted, hoping they didn't hear us.

"Didst anyone sayeth 'Go slay'?"

"Joey! Flirt with them! That's enough to get their hard cores soft. " I demanded, after they came to the side for a discussion.

"Yeah she's hot enou-" Travis stated -half before he paused when Joey glared at him, "I-I mean she is not uh...un-hot-pretty. Right ?" His vague words barely caught attention.

"Look, Joey. You can do this!"

"Dude! I'm-im a dude! The-these things- I can't. I can't possibly flirt with them! I don't know how to."

"I know!" Austin lightened up and we turned to him, "It's simple, walk with your legs always over the other in like a straight line with both of your hands to your waist. Then push out your lips and have a confident look. Use darling words and sweetheart. "

"Yeah then like their booties are so visible and fluffy like balloons. I don't know how they show it like- oh sorry. I-I.."

The boys found amusement in his expense, but Joey was on the verge of confronting him physically. Following some convincing compliments, Joey eventually consented.

Before we could correct her mistakes , she was far gone and I really didn't know about any of these flirting techniques myself.

She literally stamped awkwardly with her legs over the other one. Instead of holding the side waist, she kept her palm on her belly. I kept telling her something was wrong but myself was not aware of the specifications. I mentally facepalmed myself.

"He-Hellow boysss." She stuttered at first, quite nervous but solemn, "Wha-what are you doing?"

"Well, what art thee doing?"

"Oh! How rude of you to-to question a girl's question! Especially a pixie!"

"So thou art abn'rmal and thee f'rgot the way to the mental hospital?" One guard asked calmly.

"No you idio- I mean no darling. You don't suppose I may be such a thief eh?" According to Austin, she did it this thing right.

Joey confidently approached one of the guards and playfully traced her finger along his tie, starting from the top and moving down to his belly.

The guard resisted the temptation to flirt back, clenching his teeth, but a smirk escaped his control.

They engaged in an uncomfortable conversation while I observed Clay discreetly slipping around the corner. However, as he was about to disappear, the other guard grabbed him by the collar, eliciting a chuckle from Clay.

Being taller, the guard lifted Clay up, causing a mixture of nervousness and fear to grip him. He glanced back and forth anxiously. Suddenly, his face brightened as if he had a plan.

"Oh, please. You're so weak that you can't even toss me into that market stall. Come on, can you?" he taunted the guard.

"Why the hell are you provoking them? Why are you inviting your own death sentence?"Joey exclaimed, while another pixie held onto her tightly.

Just as he winked back, he continued his blabbering -until the guard hurled him and Clay toppled over to a distant stall, breaking it down.

The shop owner probably stomped forward aiming for the impulsive guard and I was now approaching the plan in Clay's head.
"Naughty guard! I shall heave the gorge on thy livings, for Dark lord's sake!"

"Behold knave, i didst not meanteth to hitteth thy stack of_"

"Break thee off, thee clotpole! Thee bethink thee has't pow'r just because thee guardeth the area? i'll showeth thee pow'r!" With that, the dwarf fell upon the guard and a brawl broke into the streets afterwards.

Snatching that chance, they both hurried into the palace. Soon enough they encountered two other guards but could swiftly went through and they confrmed about the first two guards who let them in at first for they were some personages.

The throne room felt silent and the tall oak doors so carelessly flung open, coupled with medieval themes carpets and walls.

There the queen remained in her throne, gripped tight on the cold metal arms and poised comfortably straight to watch the guests. Yet the most appealing object was the enormous crystal displayed behind .

"I'll go and distract the queen while you guys destroy the crystal with Clay's hammer. Okay?" We all agreed on what Austin said and Itruly craved our victory.

Confident and firm, Austin stepped forward and curtseyed to the queen.
"My highness. It's such a pleasure to being able to meet a gorgeous young lady such as you. How do I say, you might just be the most beautiful woman. No...girl! In the whole universe!" He persisted in showering compliments on the alleged queen, despite her apparent resistance to his charms.
It was a good thing to be happy for, I might say but there was a scratching sensation that pestered me with that moron's actions.
"That's not really jealousy, if that's what you are thinking Casper."

"Uh no. Of course not. It's you who is thinking that." That is the moment when you realize it is best to disregard him.
The guards left the throne room, obeying to the queen, who was well enjoying Austin's company. Good for her.

Before too long, the three others sneaked sideways, with the pillars lending them a hand for hide and seek.
Clay brought out his tiny hammer to a massive size which only deteriorated the situation.
He fell backward and thumped the hammer, taking the scrutiny from pixie queen.

As Clay was unable to get up , Travis pulled him from the back and Joey assisted in hauling his hands in front.

In the unbalanced prompt state, Clay got up suddenly and Travis lost his balance, flipping over Clay up onto Joey.

For now, I couldn't mock their intimacy because the guards possessed an overwhelming sense of masculinity.

"Guards! Guards?"Ignoring their lack of response, she let out a piercing scream at a volume capable of causing hearing impairment. And without a doubt, she shouted, "GUARDS!"

Meanwhile, Clay's earphones slipped from his ears and the intensity of the scream was so high-pitched, akin to the delicate chirping of a white canary, that it caused Clay's ears to become temporarily impaired. It was well proved when the poor guy initially attempted to communicate with others using spoken language or gestures.

"Get these intruders in the dungeons!"

Now it was going to be hell of a scooby dooby run.
