Chapter-19

"What do you think she meant?"

"I-I just don't know what's going on."

I sat in the chair with the miniatures on the circular ancient table and me struggling a lot to hear their low voiced words.

"So as you mentioned, where are the epoxy trees?"

"As said trees live in forests. So _"

"So you literally expect us to search in every forest in Glasgow day and night while they prepare to kill us all? Great scheme Travis. Great work."

"Guys please. This is not a time to fight but solve this."

"Those trees are invisible, so only finding a pixie will lead us to their abode."

"And we know that they wrestle at the night of full moon which is only two days later. Plus they are fond of horses."

"But the full moon lasts for about seven to nine hours so we have enough time to go around all of the forests."

"Huh poor Beca and Casper. They have to roam so much and we'll chill in her pockets." Clay exclaimed joyfully.

"Excuse me? You ain't gonna chill. All of you help me spot those little pixies. After all you are their size. "

We ended our conversation there and awaited the special night.
-
A shade of leaves covered my head from the scorching sun as I looked up ahead.
I surveyed the place where I was and discovered myself in a forest with stables at a corner.
There was a horse of subtle chestnut dapple with mane and tail of dark ink, eyes of Laguna bluegreen, frolicking around the area.
Some sort of nuclear energy bursted from his mouth and promptly his whole body deformed to what I recognized as Godzilla, where his attacking beam shifted towards me and I shook.

My eyes shut open as I emerged from the strange and surreal dream. Now, the term "strange" appeared commonplace to me.

However, upon further reflection, I contemplated the horse that had caught my eye and felt a strong desire to locate it. Nevertheless, that inclination swiftly vanished from my mind. In a state of perplexity and drowsiness, I returned to slumber.
-

Without any further ado, we went to grandma's house and planned to get a horse, as the horse from my dream came into thoughts.

"We must head to LaGuardia Forest of Horses to get the horse."
My words came out automatically, except I only felt the need to say it.

Nobody dared to question after Grandma agreed with me and we headed towards the forest which I thought never existed.

We relocated to the stables with the intention of selecting a horse at random. However, upon noticing a horse that bore a striking resemblance to the one I saw previously , possessing captivating blue-green eyes, I found myself irresistibly drawn to it. Consequently, I made the choice to enlist that particular horse for our mission.

My strange behavior didn't provoke any contemplation from anyone; instead, they simply disregarded it as usual, except for the unexpected uneasiness sensed by grandma.

Due to the absence of an owner and limited time available, I gently stroked its mane and tugged on the rope fastened around its body.

But he was one heck of a horse.

The horse didn't leave the position , sticking to the ground like a statue and I got determined to make him come with us at any cost.

My eyebrows puckered and I pulled the rope again but that idiot shook his body so hard that the rope slipped from my hand and afraid of his actions, I jerked back further causing laughter between my team members.

"One heck of a bitch." I muttered, expressing frustration. However, it was surprised be for it was unusual for me to use any profanity, especially when referring to an animal.

However, I didn't give up for the horse was a damn challenge to me then.
I tried to get up on his back but as soon as I swung my leg around him but he bent sideways , nearly making me fell but then rubbed his tail against my nose which made my body turned to the other side for the final fall.
Damn.

Fury struck me so hard that I was about to kick his butt but as if sensing my future actions, he kicked me back with both of his legs and I fell backwards on my butt.

"You douchebag! What do you think yourself to be?" I came to an abrupt halt, recognizing the cruelty in my own words. How was it possible for me to utter such things?

"I WON'T LEAVE THE PLACE UNTIL YOU IDIOT COME WITH ME! Get it?! No matter how much you kick me, I'll still get up! Humph!"
I emitted a grunt and forcefully planted my foot, yet I refused to give up. Battling with the stubborn horse, I angrily positioned myself on the ground.

"Rebecca?! What're you doing here? And I called you so many times, why didn't you answer? And why did you leave me yesterday after the phone call?" I looked back and quickly stood up to face Addy.

"Oh no wait. Are you trying to ignore me? Are you ditching me?"

"No! Addy, listen to me." I forwarded towards her and held her shoulders, "Look girl. I-I just have been a bit...busy. Okay? I've...I've been fighting monsters for a long time and I don't prefer anyone important in my life to interfere and unknowingly make it any worse. So..."
She calmed down for a while and her face turned pale with an abject apology.

I gave a slight nod and observed her gaze shift towards the foolish horse. Her face lit up with joy, and she eagerly bounded towards the horse, as if they shared a familiar connection. She touched the horse's back and patted his head and he responded in gay.

I was shocked as hell. Like that's so unfair!

"Look. This is my horse. Isn't she so sweet? I just love her so much."

"Oh wait, he's a ...I mean she's a she? And she's yours? "

"Yeah. Yesterday when I came to Glasgow, I had been busy with the furniture and all. So I had to keep her somewhere. And here she is." She shrugged and kept on patting her and to make less delay, I asked her directly, "Can I borrow your horse? Like I really need a horse for a very important mission."

"What mission?"

"Uh...I can't tell you right now. I-I just need space from people right now and I promise I'll tell you everything. I ju-just-"

"It's totally fine. Really. I know we haven't really been around talking and missed a few un-virtual fun and stuff but issok."

"Thank you so much for understanding!" I embraced her tightly, fulfilling a strong longing, and then continued on my way with the moron- okay, Addy's horse.

At midnight, I suddenly got a call from Grandma, but it was Austin's voice instead.

"Organa's gone. We can't find her anywhere . A-and my legs are hurting so hard for walking around the whole damn house, oh lord!" His statement proved right as for his deep breaths and that got me concerned.

"What do you mean? Where can she go? And_"

"I told you she's not here and I fear the pixies did something. Jus-just quickly come here and take us to your home for the while. Eventually we'll get back to the pixies and get your granny but if we get killed_"

"Okay okay. Im going to come right now."
With Casper's transportation power, we arrived at her house and taking a last search, we picked Austin and Travis to our home.

To ensure sufficient privacy in my small house, I arranged for Clay, Austin, and Travis to move into the storeroom while Joey stayed in my bedroom, opting to sleep in the bathtub. Totally her choice.

Finally I was going to lie down on the bed, just at the moment I heard the door creak open, revealing Austin's tiny body.

"Didn't you learn to knock the door?" I frowned.

"Didn't you learn to lock the door?" He retorted back but I only rolled my eyes.
"What do you want?"

"I-uhm...wanted to say sorry. Fo-for yesterday at school."

"Whatever. Just say that you want your weapon back. No need for the act."

"It's not an act, Rebecca. Why do you have to make things complicated?"

"Excuse me? Are you even- whatever , talking with a bastard like you is pointless and useless."

"Look, I seriously am sorry." He continued shouting as he forwarded towards the side table .
He started to get up with the knobs but couldn't balance his body and was about to fall on his face if I didn't pick him up, and put Austin on the table.

"Uh thanks."

"Do I look like I care?"

"If you didn't, then you wouldn't pick me up , would you?" He smirked and rested his elbow on my alarm clock which was kept beside my phone.

And that when the blunder occured.

He elbow slightly pushed the alarm. Overlapping my phone, the alarm banged on the floor and to balance his fall on the surface, his leg moved forward to push my phone on the floor.

And that exact moment, I felt like shaking his body till his muscles wore out .
Breathless with shock combined with prompt anger, I literally took his body in my hands and Let out an extremely loud and intense scream, "Are you freaking crazy? Wha- you- What did you just do? How irresponsible can you be?"

His face scrunched up in disgust and he spat out while I panting, "Stop splitting for god's sake bruh."

I just threw him on the surface of my bed, still in the process of calming myself down from my simmering rage.

"You-Rebecca, god! You are insane, lord! Go to hell you!"

"Oh please, only if I could show hell to you."

"Might as well. Angry bird."

"Huh bird?! Like bird? Then I would want you to be the little gruesome rat!"

New chat

Paraphrase "And your little birdy brain cell is only filled with loneliness, and ask me, I have two brains!" "Which only makes you twice as stupid." "Ugh, like you're not that pretty to be this stupid. Goddess of Rubbish- and yeah that's to you." "Oh yeah? You seem to be suffering from delusions of adequacy. Like seriously, some blunt popular chick you are." "Excuse me? Does your ass ever get jealous of all the crap that comes out of your mouth?" "Oh not really, unless the crap's not for your dick." "Right girl, both of us knows that your sharpness only exceeds till rubber. Both physically and mentally." "Oh puhleez. If you want sex related joke, then please go look into the mirror!" "The mirror is all I need to go and love myself more." "An-and so what do you me-mean? I hate myself? I have low self esteem? I don't have friends? I-" I somewhat exaggerated but wanted to let it out. I bowed my head down, not sure what to say else.

"And your tiny bird-like brain is filled only with loneliness. Let me tell you, I possess two brains!"

"Which means you're twice as stupid."

"Oh, please. You're not attractive enough to be this foolish. You're the Goddess of Rubbish, and yes that's directed at you."

As my anger subsided, I found amusement in the amusing tone of his voice and couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh really? You seem to suffer from the illusion that you're competent. Seriously, you're just a blunt popular chick."

"Excuse me? Does your rear end ever envy the nonsense that comes out of your mouth?"

"Well, only if the nonsense isn't intended for your dick."

"Sure, keep pretending that your wit extends beyond superficiality. Both physically and intellectually."

"Oh please. If you want a joke about sex, look in the mirror!"

"All I need is a mirror to find self-love."

"And what does that mean? That I hate myself? That I have low self-esteem? That I have no friends?" I exaggerated a bit, but I needed to let it out. I bowed my head, unsure of what else to say.

"No! Where are you dragging to? I don't have many friends anyway..." Startled by his untrue statement, I lifted my gaze towards him and asked in a hushed tone, "You must be joking, right? A self-absorbed, good-looking guy like you has no friends? Hah." I scoffed.

"Just because I have a few acquaintances doesn't mean they're genuine friends who truly care about me. They're all superficial. Everything feels...fake. Sorry, I didn't mean to say it that way..."

"It's...It's okay. Sometimes you just need to face the truth and live it. Stop settling to things the way they are and start living but with genuine life . And okay, I must admit I'm horrible at pep talks so_" he started to cackle for some seconds and I joined him.

"You are not as lame as you seem."

"I can't say the same about you."

"Yeah so I'm lame."

Unreasonably, we again laughed and it was contagious to say in one word.
With Austin, I experienced an entirely new and calming feeling, unlike the usual emotions of hatred and frustration.

His eyes visibly brightened more and the corners of his lips wrinkled so slightly and it was a smile from him, that ever looked genuine.

In addition, I couldn't help but notice, for the first time, his strikingly handsome appearance, with well-defined facial features. His smile was so captivating that it brought a smile to my face without any conscious effort.

"Not to mind but a huge please , please take me to that room, my leg literally hurts as hell. " He said breaking the silence.

"No." I denied simply, like just because we laughed for some time, doesn't really mean I liked him. I mean-

"Please Rebecca. Don't be so cruel. C'mon sweetheart." He poured with puppy eyes but that wasn't what annoyed me.

"Don't call me that."

"What sweetheart? Okay, sweetheart." He wore a smug smile, fully aware that it would provoke my annoyance. He persisted until I reluctantly agreed to provide him a fine ride.

I lifted him up once more with my hands and started making my way to the door. However, I stumbled over the annoying clock on the floor and landed on the bed. To make matters worse, Austin's small body was thrown and ended up landing directly on my face, limbs sprawled out in all directions.

Realizing how uncomfortable the situation had become, I quickly got back up, taking deep breaths to calm myself down.
F

eeling extremely embarrassed, I decided to leave the room for some fresh air to escape from all the chaos. As I stood by the door, I couldn't help but say something before I left, "Just a friendly piece of advice: next time you cross the road, it might be a good idea to actually look."

As I went to the kitchen, I heard Casper dying out of laughter. And I felt like smacking him so hard that he could barely walk.

"That might just be the most hilarious scene I'll ever see in my whole afterlife."

"SHUT THE HELL UP CASPER ."

-
The night of the full moon arrived and we all set for our mission.
At first we searched the LaGuardia Forest for a beginning but nothing of use was found.

We dedicated an hour to each forest, with two hours remaining. Filled with hope, we let the horse wander through the woods, almost willingly, but unfortunately, nothing caught our attention except Addy - once again.
