ice ice baby
"Hoth Treats," Luke read out slowly, tilting his head in the way that Han found immensely adorable. "I don't get it. If it's ice cream and slushies and stuff then why would it be called Hot-h? Wouldn't it better to call it...I don't know...Coldth Treats?" Luke scrunched his face in confusion at his own words, making his boyfriend laugh heartily.
Han leaned over and pressed an affectionate kiss to Luke's cheek, making the younger boy blush. "I'm sure you're just overanalyzing it, babe. But I'm sure you can file a complaint with the manager if you want."
Luke rolled his eyes, elbowing Han playfully. "I was just saying! I mean, does it make sense to you? Where the hell did they even get that name from?"
Han shrugged, "Maybe it's a last name of someone? Who knows? Let's just go inside and get something, huh? That is why I brought you here after all. You need something other than hot chocolate for once."
Luke stuck his tongue out at Han, pushing into the little shop and not failing to notice Han's eyes trailing after his backside. His cheeks burned and he could practically feel Han's smirk, "Stop staring and get in here you scoundrel."
Han chuckled and walked in after his boyfriend, wrapping his arm around his waist and cuddling him warmly as they approached the cashier.
"Hello, welcome to Hoth Treats, what can I get you today?"
Luke smiled politely at the perky woman and leaned his elbows on the counter, temporarily distracted by Han running his hands up the sides of his shirt and tickling his ribs. With a faint chuckle under his breath, Luke pulled lightly out of Han's grasp so he could peer up at the menu and talk to the woman in front of him. "Um, how's the Tauntaun Freeze?"
The woman smiled even brighter, noticing that the young man had never been to the ice cream shop before. "That's actually one of the more popular flavors. Did you want a sample?"
Luke pondered briefly before simply shrugging. "I'll just take a medium slush in that flavor, be adventurous today," He turned to Han, who was already pulling out his wallet. "What did you want, babe?"
Han looked up in surprise and then bit his lip, "Uh, just get him a large and we'll share it."
Luke rolled his eyes but nodded towards the cashier as she put in the order. She handed them a considerably large plastic cup filled to the brim with bluish gray ice, startling Luke enough to make his eyes go wide. "Yeah, that's definitely enough for both of us."
The cashier laughed and took Han's money, wishing them both a nice day as they made their way towards one of the small tables. Han threw two straws he had grabbed down on the table and pushed one towards Luke, urging him to try the drink.
Curious, Luke took the straw and dunked it into the slush, pursing his lips before taking one large sip. Instantly he drew back with a gasp, his face pinching tight. "God that's cold!"
Han laughed, taking a sip himself only to end up slurping it greedily, the faint blue tinge lingering on his lips. Luke stared at him lightly, awed and slightly tempted to kiss the sticky syrup off his lips.
Luke found himself drinking more of the slushie before Han could drink it all alone, the both of them making faces at each other between sips as they leaned over their shared cup. The cup that was now completely empty. Satisfied, Luke settled deep into his chair, breathing heavily and blinking just as a pinprick of pain blasted through his temple.
Han groaned in similar pain, the pair of them clenching their heads as if suffering the worst of hangovers. And Han Solo had had hangovers; this was very close to topping them.
"Han, why...why does my head hurt?" Luke moaned, his eyes squeezed tight and his skin a tad paler.
A faint laugh made its way through Han's daze of pain, "It's called a brain freeze, junior. Not the most pleasant of experiences I'll tell ya. Comes from drinking something cold too fast, it all rushes to your head...ugh."
Luke shook his head lightly, opening his eyes to just wide enough slits so he could glare at his boyfriend. "Next time we drink hot chocolate."
The laughter that followed was enough to make Han forget about all his pain and focus on the adorable pouting mess that was his boyfriend, the blue-gray syrup staining his lip similar to how it had stained Han's before.
His eyes softening and his heart starting to beat loud enough to where he felt the whole store could hear it, Han leaned forward and gently cupped Luke's face, the younger boy's features twisting in momentary surprise as cold lips pressed against his. It didn't take long for Luke to melt into the kiss however, a small hum leaving him as Han's hands slid through his hair.
Once they pulled apart, they both broke into hysteric giggling, Han teasingly smearing the slushie on Luke's lips over his cheeks and on his nose.
"I love you so much," Han whispered, his hazel eyes warm and full of adoration.
"I love you too," Luke muttered before leaning in for another kiss, this one a bit sloppier than the other with the slushie on his nose rubbing onto his boyfriend's face. Luke snickered at the sight only to laugh more when Han stuck his tongue out to reveal the normally pink flesh being a strange dark mixture between blue and gray. Han reached across the table and linked his hand with Luke's, the both of them stricken with each other; the rest of the world was a blur as they locked eyes.
"We should take Leia here," Luke commented aimlessly, having scooted his chair to be closer to Han, his blonde hair a fluffy mess in the older boy's face as he nuzzled into his shoulder.
Han responded to Luke's affections by wrapping his arm around the boy's waist, his eyes skirting around the mostly empty store in distraction. "No, I think we should make this our thing. Leia's got Evaan to take her places. I want to spend more time with you,"
Luke flushed pink when Han leaned over and bopped his nose with a finger, their huddled warmth slowly numbing away the brain freeze that they had almost forgotten about. "I...I like that idea," Luke said slowly, his fringe casted over his eyes as he looked up.
Han chuckled, "Great. Now that we're gonna be returning customers, you can go make that complaint about the name of the store now."
Luke groaned in playful annoyance, burying his head in Han's shirt in embarrassment. "It was a reasonable comment!" His words were muffled through the fabric and Han began to laugh at him, ruffling his hair and patting his back comfortingly.
"Sure it was babe, sure it was."
