Modern!AU, tw: alcohol and drunk behavior mentioned
"Han." Luke hissed through clenched teeth, trying to dig his heels into the ground as his much larger and stronger boyfriend laughed at him, tugging firmly on his wrists and trying to get him to move.
"Come on kid, it ain't that bad. You don't even have to get anything, just sit with me while I order," Han said, still laughing at the flustered look on Luke's face. "You promised me you'd spend the day with me anyways."
Luke rolled his eyes, trying for the umpteenth time to yank his limp wrists out of Han's giant hands. "Yes, but I thought we'd go somewhere more reasonable. Like the mall, or the movie theater. Not a bar," Luke grumbled, his blue eyes pleading now.
Several other patrons were passing around them and not even bothering to look at the couple in the middle of the parking lot, but every one of them screamed danger to Luke. He had seen his uncle Owen get drunk before and it was not a pretty picture. No way was he willingly going to walk into a bar, with his boyfriend nonetheless.
"Luke, I know the guy who runs the place and he's cool with me and you being together if that's what you're worried about. Besides, most people who come here are super friendly, you'll love it," Han promised, blinking his hazel eyes and making Luke curse under his breath. Han may have acted like a rugged bad boy on the outside, but Luke knew him better than that. Deep down he had a heart of gold and only ever wanted to make Luke happy, which made Luke blush thinking about how much his adorably handsome boyfriend cared about him.
"I...I don't know Han. They may be the nicest people in the world but you never know...it only takes one person." Luke paused, looking up at Han's raised eyebrow before sighing, "And you know how I feel about alcohol."
Han scoffed. "That's cause you've never had it junior. Now that you're of legal age, I can finally take you to a bar and order you something reasonable! Can you just do it for me? Worst case scenario some sleemo comes and messes with you and I punch him into next week." Han finally removed his hands from Luke's wrists and reached up to brush back a loose piece of blonde hair falling into his petite boyfriend's bright azure irises. "Trust me."
Luke bit his lip in indecisiveness, humming contently at Han's warm caresses and trying to fight the urge to give in. Once he sighed in defeat, he tried not to giggle as Han developed an excited victorious look. He knew his Aunt Beru was turning in her grave at the next words that came out of his mouth, "All right."
Han jumped up in excitement and had Luke's wrists in his hands once again, yanking Luke forward and causing the smaller man to yelp in surprise as he was dragged forward. Luke struggled to not trip over his feet as Han pulled him into the bar and right up to the counter, the older man instantly leaning over the bar and gesturing for the bartender.
Luke's brain was spinning and he barely heard Han speaking to him as he went over the list of several beers, whiskeys, scotches, gins, brandies, vodkas, you name it, they had it. Finally, after a good few seconds of several other people ordering before them, Luke let Han pick for him.
The smirk on his boyfriend's face was not reassuring as he took the menu away and refused to tell Luke what he was ordering.
Han's drink came out first, a not too heavy whiskey in a decent sized bottle. At least Han was drinking responsibly.
"I'll meet you at the table." Han whispered in his ear before walking off, leaving Luke to his own devices at the bar. Luke wanted to protest being left alone, but he wasn't about to look like a child in front of his boyfriend. He was a grown man after all, he could take care of himself.
Right?
Several minutes passed and the bartender never spared him a glance, serving several other customers and seemingly looking like he hadn't even started on making Luke's drink. Luke was about to lean forward and ask when a thought struck him.
How were they going to drive home?
With a groan, Luke looked over his shoulder to see Han lounged at a table and laughing with another person across the table, both of them obviously drunk. Fighting a strange spike of jealousy at whoever this person was chit-chatting it up with his boyfriend, an idea suddenly struck Luke's mind. A slow grin peeled back on his lips and he finally worked up the courage to get the bartender's attention, the man glaring at him as he did so.
"Can I get a drink please?" Luke asked innocently, fluttering his long eyelashes.
The bartender raised an eyebrow and then scoffed, "You got ID, kid?"
Luke frowned, not really surprised that people thought he was underage. Han loved to tease him about his 'babyface'. "Why would I need ID? I haven't even told you what I wanted yet."
Now confused, the bartender leaned over the counter to stare Luke down. "Ok. So what do you want princess, a glass of water?"
Luke mentally rolled his eyes at the nickname, but managed to keep his annoyance to a minimum. "How much for your hottest hot chocolate?"
The bartender veered back and blinked, suddenly bursting into laughter. Several other people turned to look but didn't waste time in staring before returning back to their drinks, uninterested in the scene. Han glanced over as well, looking confused and slightly worried. Leave it to Han to sober up when he saw his boyfriend having problems.
He really didn't deserve him. He was just so sweet.
"Look, I'm serious. I really don't drink, my boyfriend just wants me to. I've got to make him happy, you know?" Luke pleaded, noticing Han getting shakily up from his seat. "Plus, one of us has to drive home."
The bartender wiped the mirthful tears from his eyes and then chuckled lightly, still shaking his head in amusement. "I'll see what I can do. And it's on the house for making me laugh. Not many people can do that. What's your name, kid?"
"Luke. Luke Skywalker. And if you don't mind, could you hurry?" Luke asked, biting his lip in anticipation.
The bartender nodded with a smirk and darted off, grabbing a beer bottle, emptying its contents, and then filling it with boiling water. He returned to Luke with a small hot chocolate power mix and wished him the best before moving on to the next customer.
Luke hurriedly poured the powder in and sealed the top of the bottle, shaking it around and smiling at the warmth of the liquid radiating through the glass bottle. Just as he finished, he whirled around to see Han before him, frowning deeply.
"What were you two talking about?" Han asked, gesturing at the bartender.
Luke smirked, gripping his bottle tight. "Oh nothing. Why, you jealous?"
Luke tried not to giggle at how red Han went. "Me, jealous? In your dreams Skywalker. It was you who was jealous of me and that guy over there. I saw you eyeing me."
Luke just rolled his eyes, hoping he wasn't blushing like Han had. "Well I finally got that drink you ordered me. Are you happy? Can we go?"
Han narrowed his eyes at the bottle in Luke's hands, not believing it. "Just because you have it doesn't mean you drank it yet. I want to see you just take one sip. If you hate it, you never have to touch the stuff again, deal?"
Luke smiled deeply, gladly accepting the challenge. Besides, Han didn't know that he was actually holding a bottle of the sweetest, warmest drink known to man: hot chocolate. It was Luke's favorite drink and anyone who knew him knew that. Especially Han.
"Alright." Luke said simply, this time proud to be giving in to his boyfriend's antics. He made a fuss of acting out hesitation and pretending to look nervous as he pressed the bottle to his lips and poured it upwards, the liquid seeping into his mouth and--
Luke screamed and dropped the bottle, the glass shattering at his feet. Han leaped back several feet before coming to his senses, his hazel eyes wide and confused as to what just happened.
Luke was leaning against the bar and fanning his mouth, tears leaking from his eyes and his tongue steaming, the boiling hot drink still scorching his mouth and throat even as he tried to suck in gulps of air. Concerned, Han kneeled down and dipped his finger in the spilled mess, jerking his finger back in pain as the puddle of light brown liquid burned him.
"Jeez Luke, what the hell kind of alcohol did you drink? That's not what I ordered you." Han asked frantically, rising to his feet and gratefully accepting a glass of water from someone offering it beside him. He quickly helped Luke ease the cold, merciful liquid down his throat, whispering reassurances as he did so. Luke coughed violently and glared daggers at Han, unable to yell at him at how it was his idea to come into the bar in the first place.
The only person laughing was the bartender, an innocent look on his face as he silently muttered, "He asked for the hottest hot chocolate we had. So he received."
It was months before Han could ever convince Luke to go to the bar again.

A/N
Hey, I came up with an idea for this book, yay!
Lol, hoped you all enjoyed, and again, please note that this chapter is a bit higher rated, but the whole book is PG-13 so I may bring up other topics that will be a bit more mature than just alcohol. But all the chapters are fluff, I promise. :)
Anyways, I saw that little comic on tumblr and immediately thought of Luke trying to impress Han (who obviously avidly consumes alcohol cause he's Corellian and it's like their second nature) when he takes him to a bar. So since Luke is freaking adorable, he orders a hot chocolate instead. Ugh, this cinnamon roll. Long story short, I needed this as a Skysolo Modern!AU, notice how Luke talks about driving a car not a speeder, going to a movie theater not a holo theater, going to the mall (do those exist in the Star Wars universe?), and at a bar not a cantina. So yeah...that bartender guy I just imagine as the same guy who ran the cantina on Mos Eisley in A New Hope and whoever Han was flirting with was just some dude. Maybe Lando idek. *wink wink* XD
*space kisses*
PS - recommendations for this book are like, awesome, so please throw me ideas. anything goes (as long as it's fluff) I do have one recommendation still in progress that I'm struggling with for ideas, but I'm getting there, you know who you are. ;)
PSA - don't drink alcohol if you're underage kids, this is just a thing i wrote for fun. Kk, love you guys. :)
May the Force be With You,
