Hogwarts Confessions

A/N: Have this as an apology for the crackshot I posted over a week ago. I'm not very proud of this, and it's not even related to Harry Potter that much. This takes place in Harry's 5th year, but Alex and Eliza are in their 6th year. I wrote this with the intention that they were both in Gryffindor, but it doesn't really matter. Whatever personally floats your boat. I was thinking a lot about what house Alexander would be in, and I personally believe he would be a Gryffindor. He's charismatic, impulsive, charming, undoubtedly brave, and incredibly loyal. The main reason why I separated him from Ravenclaw was because even though he's very intelligent, he acts first. Ravenclaws are known for their tactful thinking, as in they think first and act second. Alexander acts first, thinks second. As for Eliza, I'm not really sure. What are your thoughts?

Alexander struggled with his long, auburn hair, trying to make it seem like he wasn't trying hard to look good. Unfortunately, he made it even worse. He slung his tie around his neck and walked up to where the girl of his dreams sat. The sun sat on the Great Lake, emitting a rainbow of colors into the sky. It was a gorgeous night, but someone even more gorgeous than the sunset waited on the hill, reading her book against a tree.

It was the spot they first met at in their second year. Alexander had been reading a book just below the hill when he heard a girl's sniffles come from the tree.

"Are you okay?" He had asked her, walking up towards the mysterious oak. She had jumped out of the tree and looked down, the dark curls laid unkempt around her face.

"Never you mind." She had muttered, fiddling with her feet.

"Would you like me to keep you company?" He asked her, offering a smile. The girl looked up.

"I guess." She sat. "I'm Elizabeth Schuyler."

"Alexander Hamilton." He told her. The two sat down together and began to talk.

Alexander learned that she was a pureblood that day, but hadn't admitted to her that he was a halfblood until their third year. He had also learned that the reason why she was crying was due to an accident involving her younger sister and magic. They had watched the sunset together that day, and began to talk more and more, and eventually Alexander had fallen for the beautiful girl.

Today was the day he got his priorities sorted and confessed his feelings to her.

Alexander trudged up the hill, his stomach fluttering with every step he took. He was more nervous that he had ever been in his entire life, yet his cocky grin that he wore on his face masked that nervousness. He sat down onto the hill, playing with a nearby rock.

"Finally, that evil Umbridge woman is gone, along with the ministry." Eliza began, looking up from her book. "I guess Filch will be happy, especially since there won't be any more pranks."

"Filch? Nah, I bet him and Umbridge were fucking in the trophy room after hours." He joked, making high pitched moaning sounds. Eliza rolled her eyes but couldn't help from smiling.

"You're a dork, Hamilton." She closed her book and sat closer to him.

"Yeah, but I'm your dork." He replied smoothly, which made Eliza roll her eyes again. The two watched the sun slowly get swallowed by the haunting black lake, and she leaned on Alexander.

"Eliza, can I ask you something?" Alex started, breathing in.

"Shoot."

"Uhm, so I like someone, and I don't really know how to tell them." He said quickly, almost throwing up from the nerves. Eliza's shoulders slumped, and she felt like she had been slapped across the face.

"Y-you like someone?" She asked, dumbfounded. He had been her crush since she met him in their second year. The moment she saw his face, she knew that she wanted to be with him. To hear this, it was sickening to her. She felt betrayed, and hurt, and angry, and sad, and weak and she just wanted to stop.

Eliza, this is why you should have told him.

The voice in the back of her head pounded, she knew she should have told him how she felt earlier. She could have avoided all of this. God, who was he going to go for? Probably Maria, or maybe even one of the Patil twins. One thing was for certain, it definitely was not her.

"Yeah," he sort of laughed. "I've known her for forever, and I want to be more than friends with her." He said. Eliza didn't respond, for she was still processing everything he had just said.

"Who is it?" Eliza asked tentatively, the eerie silence settling between the two. It had gotten significantly darker, and their moods reflected on that.

"Before I tell you who it is, I need to know how I should tell them." He croaked out, trying to mask his fear. Eliza was too caught up in her own thoughts to notice how anxious he was.

"Umm.." Eliza forced a small smile onto her lips. "Well, just be upfront about it. Compliment something you love about her, and tell her how long you liked her. Maybe give her a flower or a chocolate or something. Then just ask her." She told him. Why did she tell him that? Now he was going to abandon her and search for his lover.

But he didn't leave her side.

"Is that how you would like to get asked out?" He asked softly. Eliza chuckled a bit.

"No, definitely not. I would want someone to take me to a place that was special to me, and just ask me out. But that's not going to happen anytime soon, maybe ever." She shoved a curl behind her ear and hugged onto her book. Alexander nodded slowly.

"What are you reading?" The subject change was startling to Eliza. They went from talking about crushes, to the book she was reading. Not that she didn't mind the subject change, it was just....off.

"Oh um, Hogwarts a History." She said, growing redder. "It's pretty interesting, did you know that one cannot apparate on Hogwarts grounds?" Eliza noticed her blabbing and stopped.

"I didn't, why'd you stop?" They gazed into each other's eyes, and the universe seemed to be as one.

"Who's your crush?" Eliza asked, as much as it pained her to have to hear a different girl's name in response. Tears welled her eyes, and she finally accepted that she had missed her chance. Alex noticed the tears and took her chin into his hands.

"Betsey, why are you crying?" He asked, concerned. Her tears glistened in the moonlight like stars brightening up the dim night sky. Eliza gave a shuddery sigh and removed her head from his soft grip.

"I never had the chance to tell you something, and now it's too late." She curled up into a ball. Alexander scooted closer to Eliza and wrapped his arms around her.

"What did you want to tell me?" He gazed into her eyes. Eliza shook her head.

"Nothing."

"Eliza-"

"No, it's nothing." She said firmly, trying to squirm out of Alexander's grasp. Her meek and feeble attempts to pry free were no match for Alexander's grip. It was soft and comforting, yet firm and protective. He took her chin into his hand again, their heads were just inches apart...

"Eliza.." Alexander began, his voice husky. "I don't know much about love, but god, I think I've fallen in love with you."

Eliza's heart stopped. Her breathing slowed. Time stopped, and the whole world stood still. She felt herself fill up with so many emotions all at once. Her bitter disappointment was now replaced with complete and utter glee. She felt like doing ten thousand cartwheels across the courtyard in front of every single Hogwarts student. She could hardly contain her excitement and tears.

"Really?" She managed to utter in disbelief.

"Really." He repeated.

"Oh my god, you don't know how long I've been waiting to hear that. I love you too, Alexander Hamilton." She responded, beginning to softly laugh. Alexander's eyes widened.

"Really?!" He asked Eliza in shock. Eliza laughed.

"Really."

"Oh my god. Oh my god! Eliza! Can I kiss you? I mean, I would like to kiss you. Can we, might we, may we? That's it." He stuttered, accidentally muttering the wrong sayings. Eliza nodded happily. "We may."

Their lips collided together, the moonlight perfectly shining on the two. Eliza put her arms around his neck in an embrace and Alexander tied his around her waist. It seemed like the stars collided, and the universe was finally in harmony. The passionate embrace drew on, and the two never wanted to let go. Their comfort was in each other, and they were at peace together.

It was a blissful end to a beautiful night, and a new chapter began right after that exact kiss took place.
