Eliza scanned the article on her phone, her bottom lip quivering as tears formed in her eyes, blurring her vision
Her phone ringed, showing a message from her best friend. John.

Opening it. It read.
'I'll come over, stay strong for me.' Eliza burst in to tears, dropping her phone on the floor- cracking it in the process. Her knees buckled and she fell.

She sat there, her body shaking and incoherent sobbing coming from her mouth, tears just flowed down her face endlessly.

John slowly opened the door, closing it before running to Eliza- sliding down to her as he pulled her close to him.

Eliza jolted away, her chest going up and down in a rapid pace. "Hey.. it's just me John, John Laurens." He said, her eyes softened and tackled him.

John intertwined their fingers, bringing her closer to him as she sobbed hiding her face in his chest, trying her best not to get it wet

"Deep breaths, deep breaths babygirl.. deep breaths" John whispered in her ear, using his other hand to rub her back gently in circular motions.

Eliza gripped on his shirt, staining it with tears as her breath slowed. John smiled- kissing her forehead.

"Ok, good.." he mumbled into her ear, whispering sweet comforting things in her ear.. Eliza hugged him tighter, seeking his love.

He slowly stood up, carrying her like a baby in the process as he cradled her softly.

Kissing the side of her head, as he slowly walked to the couch and sitting her down softly.

John sat right beside her, grabbing her hand and rubbing circles on her palm gently.

"J...John, h-hold me..!" She asked loudly, reaching out towards him as he pulled her small and gentle frame on his lap.

Eliza cuddled closer to him, hugging him tightly, seeking his warmth as he cradled her more, wanting nothing more then just to kiss her and give her the love she deserved.

But he can't, not just yet-...

John hummed, rubbing her tears softly with the pad of his thumb, smiling at the small, adorable, and gentle girl in his arms who was holding onto him desperately.

Rocking her back and fourth, before shifting her so she can be more comfortable.

Eliza reached out over to him, caressing his cheek softly while her other hand messed up his hair. He didn't care about his hair, he wanted to show her love.

Eliza's bottom nose twitched, a small cute smile on her face which made John's heart flutter.

John had a crush on her, definitely had a big one- ever since they met eyes he just wanted to shower her with love and kisses, knowing she needed that.

But, before Alex told him the news him and Eliza we're currently dating. John's heart broke into a million pieces.

Knowing he could never had someone as amazing as her he believed they we're perfect for each other, well- not until now.

Now, he has a chance, a big one to steal the small, adorable girl's heart and finally have her to himself.

John snapped out of his thougts, hearing Eliza softly and quietly snore. John smiled and carried her over to- her own room.

Lifting up the blankets, he laid her down softly and pulling the blankets over her.

Kissing her forehead as he heard the door click. He quickly ran out of her room, closing the door seeing Alexander coldly but guilty staring at him.
 

John growled audibly. Alex looked away- clearly embarrassed.

"H-Hi Jac-" John cut him off, slapping him in the face "Don't fucking call me that!" He spat, clutching his fist tightly.

 
Alexander's cheek reddened after John slapped him, Alex looked down in shame- knowing the mess he made. He sighed.

"L-Look- Ja- John I-I'm sorry.." He stammered, trying to explain as John towered over him fearfully.

"Not me, at that poor girl you decided to cheat on Alexander!" He yelled back at him, his tone dangerous. Alex winced at that.

"I-I was tired a-and burned-out..I-I was confused-." Alex stammered again. John clutched his jaw, unable to contain the anger that was about to rise up to the surface.

No one hurts his friends, especially his dear Eliza.

"You decided to cheat on the most, kind, selfless, trustworthy, and gorgeous person in world?! Idiot move Alexander!" He yelled, stepping dangerously close to him a slight pink hue on his cheeks after what he said.

Alex stepped backwards, his back hitting the closed door as John fumed.

"And you hooked up with the girl, for the whole year? Then tell the whole God damn world about it? And that girl is taken?" John said, raising a brow at him mockingly.

Alex nodded slowly. John sighed, arching his neck and face palmed.

"Seriously? You're that dumb? And here I thought you were a good friend Alexander! I thought you'd would've been great for Eliza, but you proved me wrong! Like the bitch you are!" John yelled again, finally snapping as Alex winced again- finally letting himself go.

John groaned, "I know Eliza like my own mind. You would never find anyone as trusting or as kind!" John yelled again, his eyes showing immense rage and anger.

Alex was speechless, Looking away as John stepped backwards, not wanting to hurt Alexander badly.

"Get out." John deadpanned, "J-John let me-" John cut him off again "Get out!" He said, punching him in  the face.

Eliza slightly opened the door, seeing Alexander run out of the door. John turned around seeing a small girl in tears as she tackled him in a hug.

"Oh John!" She whimpered, hiding her face in his shirt as he hugged her tightly.

"I promise, he'll never lay a single eye on you ever again..." he whispered softly into her ear, Eliza whimpered-laughed before grabbing his cheeks and kissing him.

John's eyes widened in surprise, quickly kissing her back as he pinned her against a wall.

Eliza clutched his shirt tightly, pulling away breathless as she looked into John's emerald eyes.

Eliza's felt her knees go out, sliding down the wall as he knuckles turned slightly white.

John laughed, putting a strand of hair away from her face, putting it behind her ear as they exchanged a soft, gentle kiss.

"You have no idea how long I wanted to do this." John whisperes into her ear, Eliza blushed and released his jacket from her grip and hugging him.

"Every since I saw you. I always wanted to be the man who gave you kisses and hugs everyday, I guess that dreams do come true after all." He whispered into her ear, his voice gruff like how Alex used to talk to her.

Eliza's heart fluttered, "huh, guess I c-could say the same." Eliza said, stuttering slightly.

John smiled, carrying her up and spun her around. Eliza laughed, holding onto his shoulders as the new couple laughed together.

Eliza's forehead touched his, their nose barely even touching as John softly kissed her plump and full lips.

"I love you." Eliza kissed, John laughed, "I love you to forever, my sweet betsy." They shared another kiss before going to sleep, ignoring texts or calls from friends.

Sleeping in each other's arms.
