The Good and The Bad
George sulked out into the waiting room. He was anxious. Nervous. Eager. Too many emotions flooded his brain right then, as he left his wife to an emergency c-section. He gulped down some water from a fountain nearby as he thought. She was high-risk, the chances of her and the baby surviving were slim to none. He couldn't handle losing either of them. He sat in a chair in the waiting room, his elbow rested on his lap as he leaned forwards. He sat with his head in his hands for a while, thinking, and sometimes swearing and talking to himself. He didn't know what do to do. His wife, and his first blood child were both at risk of death and couldn't do anything about it.
Alex was busy talking to Bill when he saw his dad walk out of the double doors, his face pale and beaded with sweat. Alex stood to get up, but Bill, the old wise man with lung cancer, stopped him. "I suggest you leaver him be." Bill said kindly. Alex watched as his dad sat in a chair, looking extremely worried and distraught. George buried his face in his hands, looking to the world like a man who had just lost everything. Alex took a sharp intake of breath when he pondered the subject that maybe he had. He knew nothing on the Martha front.
Laf moved one of his players. "Checkmate."
"It isn't called that in checkers- you know what? Nevermind." Hercules grinned at his French friend, his best friend.
"What on earth are you wearing?" Laf decided to change the subject.
"A peach sack!" Hercules said. He saw two teenage girls snicker and quickly look away. He shrugged and made his move on the checkers board.
"I meant on your feet." Laf pffted at his friends' ignorance, he knew it was a peach sack for god's sake.
"Olivia bag socks!" Hercules giggled.
The double doors banged open and Laf lifted his gaze from the game of checkers. He saw Mr.Washington hurry out, looking a million different emotions. Laf didn't want to disturb his so-called 'father' so he continued playing checkers with Hercules.
All three looked up when a doctor walked through the double doors and into the waiting room. All three stood up when the doctor said. "The Washington Family?"
All three stared at the doctor when he said. "I have good news and I have bad news."
DUN. DUN. DUUUUN!
