Non-Stop
"Alex."Mr.Washington was frowning, the boys had forced him to wear a white judge's wig over his otherwise bald head, and a black blanket as a robe. He had a toy hammer in his hand as the gavel. He had been convinced that he had to do this for his son. It had been a rough road to recovery when Laurens moved, leaving no further way to contact him. Mr.Washington had to even bribe him with... this, to get him out of the house and coming to school.
"Your honor," Alex stood up straight. He wanted to seem as professional as possible. "May I speak for my client?" He looked into the eyes of Mr.Washington.
"You may." Mr.Washington said.
Alex opened his mouth and began sprouting out words."We are making a valid point to the next generation of this school, we are proving ourselves to be a respectable group of people. But our client is innocent. He would never do anything to Elma Sands. She was a respectable and amazing and I intend to prove without a shadow of a doubt-"
"Co-" Aaron glared at Alex. "Council Hamilton sit down." Aaron tried to be calm, but Alex got on his nerves easily. " Client Levi Weeks is innocent." Aaron Burr joined Alex in standing. He glared at Samuel Seabury. "Call your first witness."
"One more thing!" Alex exclaimed.
"Shut up!" Aaron shouted "You always assume that you know everything. Know more than everyone else in this room. Well you don't!" Aaron closed his fake brief-case and walked out of the room. "Why do you assume your the smartest in the room?" Aaron asked from a distance. It echoed in Alex's head. Alex glanced at the 'jury'. It was a bench with a few stuffed animals sitting on it.
"Mr.Livingston?" Alex asked. Henry looked at Alex. "You work on the case, I'll be right back." Alex ran after Aaron.
"Aaron Burr!" Alex yelled, he ran up to his friend. "I was chosen for the constitutional convention! And you ruined my chance!"
"I'm sorry..." Aaron felt slightly bad.
"Aaron."
"Is this a legal matter?"
"Yes... it's important bud."
"Okay...?" Aaron was confused.
"My client needs a strong defense. Help me out."
"Who?" Aaron had a growing sensation that this was bad. Bad. Bad. Bad.
Alex smiled mischievously, and elbowed his friend. "The school's new constitution."
"NO!" Aaron was surprised.
"But-" Alex's face fell.
"No WAY!" Aaron couldn't even wrap his head around this outrageous idea.
Then somebody tapped Alex's shoulder, he spun around and saw Angelica.
"Angelica!" Alex smiled at his close girl friend.
"Alex," Angelica looked sad.
"What?" Alex asked, he was worried.
"I got a letter from a boarding school an hour away, I'm leaving." Angelica frowned, tears dripping from the corner of her eyes.
"Angelica..." Alex let the a soften in his throat.
"Don't forget to call..." Angelica ran off, Eliza coming up to Alex.
"Alex! Philip and I are boreeed! Pay attention to us!" Eliza complained, she was very sad that all of Alex's attention was elsewhere.
"I'm sorry." Alex wasn't that sorry though. Eliza had been nagging and pleading recently, it was becoming annoying. "I do love my family." He leaned over and kissed Eliza quickly on the lips. Her mouth dropped open. She wasn't sure what to say. "Uhh..." Escaped her lips, she couldn't think of anything to say. It was like all the words in her brain had flopped out of her ear.
Flop.
"Yeah..."
Flop.
"Uhhh..."
Flop.
Alex grinned at her. "I have a good time with you Eliza."
Flop.
"Ditto." She managed to say. She wanted to say something more to the intelligent boy. "You... You're coolio." She wanted to slap herself. COOLIO? Really?
"You're coolio too." Alex winked at her and then walked back over to Aaron. Continuing their conversation.
"I wrote and essay already about the constitution!" Alex said. "A reeeally long one! There's like 51 pages!"
"You really do write like your running out of time!" Aaron wasn't suprised that his friend had done that. But it was rather annoying.
"I write- NON-STOP!" Alex threw his hands in the air.
