He doesn't know how. He just woke up at a redcoat base and next thing he knew he was dead. By chance. He became a guardian angel. He got to chose who he protected. He chose Alex. Alex POV-

I sigh as I bang my head on my desk. Been a month today since Washington went missing.

I haven't been able to focus well since then. I can feel. He never truly left. And that he is still with us. But aye. That could be my stupid self.

I decided to take a walk, and clear my head. And I did so.

I walked a little ways into the forest. Like 2 miles at least. I turned around and started to head back. When. I stopped. No reason why. But I stopped.

Then. A bullet flew past my face. Like. 8 inches away. I look from where it came from and I saw I redcoat. I didn't have a weapon with me. So I just ran.

While I was running I started thinking.

Why did I stop? I didn't see the redcoat. I didn't see anyone. What made me stop?

The redcoat eventually gave up and ran back to his camp. The only thing was. I was lost. I didn't bring anything with me. I decided to rest some. It was getting late. And head back tomorrow.

While I was trying to go to sleep. I thought about what happened. Why I stopped. What caused me to.

"Why...did I stop..." I say to no one.

"Because of me son," I hear.

I jump. That voice. That's Washington...no...he died...he went missing...that can't be him...

I look up and I see him. Standing infront of me. Wings and all.

"I- I- how...y-you died...w-went missing..."

He smiled faintly. Like he always did.

He motioned me to come and give him a hug.

A tear falls. I quickly sat up and ran over to him.

We both almost fell.

I missed him. I wish he never weant missing. I wish I did instead of him.

"You said that outloud-"

"O-oh shit-"

Washington grasped me tighter and I did too as well.
