Dancing lessons

A/N- little fact in my AU, Washingdad taught Hamilson how to dance. As well for how it goes with different songs. The night before Hamilton and Burr dueled he danced and sung to the song. (Real fact time- Hamilton actually liked to sing and was really good at it) Also in heaven Washingdad taught Laurens and Philip how to as well.

Time- Historical
Info-
This was before Washingdad left office. It was 2 years before he did. I know sea shanty became a thing in the 19th century (1801-1900) but I want to make a video with 'The Wellerman' so some things aren't accurate lol (its a fanfic what do you expect) this takes place in Mount Vernon, Martha went out with Eliza

Washingdad POV-
"You sure I will be able to Mr President...?" Hamilton asks looking down.
"I am sure son, and it goes with a song and you will sing it in a heartbeat,"
"I- what do you mean...I can't sing-" Hamilton replied with his face pale.
"I heard you one night singing in the forest during the war," I reply laughing as Hamilton's face goes red.
"I- uhhhh-"
"It was really good to be honest, if politics didn't work you would be great on Broadway,"
"T-thanks Mr President...that m-means a lot to me..."
I smile as I get the sheet music. I can only play the flute which won't work for the song. But we don't need music when Hamilton can sing. He was really good, I never heard anyone sing like he did that night. I think he was singing 'The Lass of Richmond Hill'. Anyways I give Hamilton the sheet music with the lyrics and he scans it for a good two minutes then looks up,
"Is this a sea shanty?"
"Yep,"
"Wow, I heard of the genre but never actually heard or seen it!"
Hamilton practicality squealed when he spoke. He seems very excited, he is like he was during the battle of York Town. I chuckle then I say,
"How long does it take you to memorie a song?"
"Around 30 minutes, I can remember stuff easily,"
"Wow,"

30 minutes later

"Okay, so you got it memorized?"
"Yep, when can we start the dancing Mr President?"
"Can you sing first?"
"W-what?"
"Can you please sing first son,"
Hamilton sighs and started.

"There once was a ship that put to sea........ the name of the ship was the Billy of Tea..... the winds blew up her bow dipped down Oh blow my bully boys blow...." he mumbles.
"Soon may the Wellerman come to bring us sugar and tea and rum One day when the tonguing is done We'll take our leave and go," we both sing at the same time. I ain't the best at singing, but it's decent.

After the song
(I don't want to bore you)

"Man, you sing better than I remember son!" I say patting his back. He smiles at me from ear to ear.
"Okay, now it's time for the dancing," I say as I head for the closet. I grab one of my old hats from being a general. I have two, one from when I first got command and the other from the Revolution. I handed Hamilton the one from the Revolution, and he gives me a puzzled look.
"The hat is the most important part," I say laughing. "So first of you stand up straight, act like you are back in the military,"
Hamilton stands straight like a rod.
"Now put your right hand on your chest," he does it exactly like I did.
"Okay, now bend your head down a little," he follows and I can see he is smiling a bit. "Then take your hat of, then bow with your hat at your chest," I say as I do it and Hamilton follows. "Okay so, if you sing 'soon may the Wellerman come' till 'tea and rum' " Hamilton nods and counts down with his fingers. While Hamilton was singing his part, I did the steps that I told Hamilton.
"That was cool Mr President," Hamilton says smiling.
"Thanks, but that is not all,"
I instructed Hamilton the rest, and around 2 hours later me memorized the loves. Like he said before, he can memorize stuff quickly, but I didn't expect it to be that quick.
"Okay, one more son," I say. He nods and we both do it while he sings.
"That was cool George!" I hear a voice say.
"O-oh hi Martha!" I say with blush creeping on my face, same with Hamilton cause Eliza was there as well.
"I- hi Eliza h-hi Mrs Washington!" Hamilton responded.

The end
