(Based on a comic I saw somewhere on Tumblr)

Thomas sighed, bored in the quiet office. Hamilton was in a meeting with Washington, but did the mistake of leaving his phone on his desk.

After much struggle, Thomas finally got into the phone, and decided to do something that he knew would piss Hamilton off to no end.

[Changed Washington's contact to Dad]

Dad: I need you to come in early this morning. I hope it's fine.

You: Yes dad, it's fine.

Alexander was confused for a variety of reasons. For one, Washington's contact was now "Dad", and for another, he could've sworn that he texted "sir". So why was it dad?

You: Apologies dad.
You: I think someone messed with my phone.

Dad: It's alright, son, I understand

You: I'm not your son.

Dad: Whatever floats your boat, Alexander

Washington was disappointed that Alexander still refused to see him as a father figure, but, considering his past, it's understandable.

Besides, maybe he does see him as a father figure, but just refuses to admit it to himself. Hell, it took a while just for Alexander to get comfortable enough with Washington to consider him someone he could confide him, other than Eliza.

You: Gilbert, do you know what Alexander sees me as?

My baby: A father figure, I believe

You: Really?

My baby: I think so, yes. Though, you'll have to ask him to be 100% sure.

You: Thank you, Gilbert.

Things have been a bit more tense around the office. Alexander refused to look Washington in the eye while he spoke, even during meetings.

Alexander then decided to confront Thomas about it, and then James, if Thomas refused to speak with him, which was often.

You: Thomas, I have a question
Jeffershit: Shoot
You: Did you change Washington's contact to Dad?

Jeffershit: Yeah, why?

You: Wow, okay, that was quicker than I thought.

Jeffershit: That you see Washington as a father figure

You: I DO NOT

Jeffershit: Jesus, calm down Hamilwhore, literally everyone sees Washington as a father figure
Jeffershit: Minus Martha, obviously

You: And me

Jeffershit: Liar
Jeffershit: Actually, I have a very good question that I know that everyone is thinking

You: Everyone?

Eliza heard her husbands phone ding, indicating that someone just texted him. She shouldn't be nosy, she knew this, but she did notice something minor that was on the screen.

New text from: Dad

Eliza smiled, knowing that Thomas changed the contact a few months ago. She knew This because Alexander complained to her about it for nearly 3 hours. Though, she didn't know that he never changed the contact name back to Washington.

She grinned.

It's not a big step, but it is a step nonetheless.

At least all of our suspicions are confirmed.
