Alex's POV

"What's going on?" I ask, joining the crowd. I'm stopped by Lafayette, "John's in a fight with a senior who made fun of him." "Who's that?" I ask, watching them spit foul language back and forth at each other. "Thomas Jefferson. He's one of the school's bullies. He's well educated though." Laf stares at the fight.

John's POV

I keep spilling every insult I can think of at Thomas. "You think you're funny, don't you, you arrogant bastard?" Jefferson laughs at me, pushing me back. I growl at him, as his little buddy James Madison joins the fray. "Now, Johnny boy, why don't you go suck some dicks instead of screwing with us?" They push me around and punch me.

Alex's POV

I've finally had enough and I pushed to the circle and stood next to John.

"Hey, fag, is this your boyfriend?" Jefferson scoffs. John suddenly punches Thomas in the face, knocking him to the ground. "Don't call me that, and leave me alone!!!" John runs off crying. I run after him but he's faster than me. I hope he's okay. Jefferson walks up behind me. "Aww, you worried about your boyfriend? How cute~" he and Madison laugh. I turn and glare at them. "I hope you're happy with your miserable lives, upsetting people for no reason." I walk home and try to call John a few times, he doesn't pick up.

Eliza's POV

After everything settles, my sisters and I get on the bus. "So, Peggles, how was your first day, other than what just happened?" I ask. "It was okay." She looks out of the bus window. We get home and talk for a while. I decide not to talk to Alexander, assuming he's talking to Laurens.
