A/n: I know this isn't hamilcast, but I just wanted to put a Linessa chapter up cause they cute. I kinda went nuts in this chapter...
Also they aren't 2 years apart in this, they're the same age.

Vanessa's pov
~~~~flashback~~~~
Kacey and a bunch of our other friends walked together to class, Kacey and I have AP history now, the others are just going to the class that was  ahead of mine which was English.

My friends aren't the smartest, cause I'm in the popular group, most of them were just plain dumb. But Kacey and I are the smartest, most of our classes were AP classes.

As we were walking, a skinny boy bumped into me, he fell along with my books and his. I knelt down and started to help him pick up my books, he looked up and parted his lips to apologize but was just frozen.

I was confused, why is he looking at me like that, why am I feeling something in my stomach, I'm probably hungry.

"Sorry, I- I didn't mean to do that..." he finally said, as he handed over my books. I shrugged and said "It's alright", he smiled at me and then walked away, he has a cute smile.

I heard the girls talk about the 'little accident', they kept on saying things like
"Ew, that boy is so disgusting"
"He definitely has a crush on me"
"He's so ugly, he has no right even touching one of us"

I felt bad for the guy, and I kinda found him cute. He had dark eyes and dark hair, I've never noticed him before but I don't think I'll be able to forget him.

"Ooo you like him don't you?" Kacey asked in a whisper, I felt my face heat up at the statement. "No!" I said defensively, she just chuckled now, as we separated from the other girls and entered our class.

I sat on my seat which was fortunately next to Kacey, I opened my binder to find my homework popping out. But something caught my eye, it was a bundle of paper behind my binder. I took them out to see some crazy handwriting, but I could read it. I knew it was his and I found his name scrawled on top of the page. Lin-Manuel Miranda

When I started to read it, I couldn't stop, there were a bunch of pages but it didn't stop me. The content was amazing, it rhymed and had so much meaning and it was just amazing penmanship. This is the start of my crush on Lin.

After that incident, I would see him everywhere- butterfly effect- I would see him in between classes and sometimes he would walk into my class but only to talk to the teacher, they would joke around and then talk about the thing he came in for and leave right after.

At lunch, I would sit with my friends but I couldn't help but look at the table where he sat. He was laughing at something and then just randomly started dancing and singing, it made me smile and giggle. Only Kacey ever noticed that I liked him, and she always teased me.

I never really gave those sheets back, for some reason every time I was stressed, I would read them and his words would calm me. Not once had his words not relaxed me. This was just a child crush I'll get over it...

~~~~years later (before ham went to b'way)~~~~

Vanessa's pov
I sighed tired from my case, being an attorney is no joke, it's tiring. I walked into my apartment that I shared with my best friend Kacey, she is a scientist.

We actually studied for that together, once we both got jobs she loved it but I found interest in law. So I went to law school and now I work like a donkey.

Kacey was sprawled on the couch tired from her day, I looked at her and smiled as I shook my head. She could at least sleep on her bed.

I went to my room and stripped out of my formal attire, I decided a hot shower would really relax my tense muscles.

After I was done I changed into a giant t-shirt and some sweatpants. I walked out and sat on the kitchen counter just going through random stuff on my laptop as I snacked on some m&m's.

My eyes were starting to get heavy so I decided to close my laptop but before I could I got an email. I sleepily checked it and it said...

Dear student,
Please join us in celebrating the high school reunion of the class of 1999.

_Saturday, July 3, 2015_
_6:45-11:00 in the evening_

_Hunter College High School Gym_

Suddenly I wasn't sleepy anymore, a high school reunion... That would be weird, but I would love to see where all of my friends ended up. I went over to Kacey and shook her violently, she groaned and said "Get away from, let me sleep you monster..." slowly falling back to sleep.

I just chuckled at her and shook her again, this time she was up. "What do you want?" she asked stretching out the 'want'.

"Guess what?" I asked, she sighed and said "Van, I don't have the energy for this...". "Oh, yes you do" I said pulling her to stand up.

"High school reunion" was all I said and voila my girl is wide awake. She looked at me with a wide grin and said "We have to go! I mean we get to see the girls and..." she trailed off with a smirk on her face. "And?" I asked getting slightly impatient, "You get to see Lin," she said in a sing-song voice.

I felt my cheeks heat up, we haven't talked about Lin since we graduated from high school. "Plus isn't he like the creator of that new hit show?" I looked at her confused, "What? First of all, how do you even know that? Are you stalking him?".

She just laughed and said, "No silly, he's just really famous now, I think his show is moving to Broadway in a month". "Oh" was all I could say before Kacey said, "We have to go, we can take a break on Saturday and Sunday, so we can chill for once".

I giggled and nodded "Fine, you're lucky that I don't have many cases this week (is that how it works? I have no idea)" I said.

~~~~time skip to the day of the reunion~~~~

Lin's pov
As Thomas said we could take off for lunch break from our rehearsals, I asked Chris to stay back so I could talk to him about something.

"What's up man?" he asked, I was pretty nervous "I got an invite a few days back..." I said slowly.

"Go on dude, I'm hungry," he said getting impatient, "It's an invite to my high school reunion and I'm not sure I should go..." I trailed off.

"Why not? It will be good to meet a couple of your old friends or hold on is this about...?" he asked, I reluctantly nodded. "Dude come on, you're fine, it's not like you still like her," he said, I looked away ashamed "Are you serious!?!? You still like her?!?!?" he said this so loud that the Schuyler sisters heard.

The three of them walked over with huge grins and then looked at Chris "Who?" Renee asked, I tried to run but Pippa had already grabbed my arm. "Who?" she repeated, I looked at Chris for help but he just had both of his hands up in surrender.

When the Schuyler sisters wanted something they got it, "Ok fine, Vanessa..." they looked confused but happy.

"Who's Vanessa? And this is so cute!!!" the three of them said together, I was so scared, they were weirdly telepathic. "Vanessa is his High School crush, and how the heck are you not over her yet?" Chris spoke.

"I- I've liked her for so long, and it's hard to move on from such a perfect girl.." I said, the girls squealed and them Pippa asked "So how did this come up again?", I didn't speak I just showed them the e-vite.

The three of them grinned and Renee asked "So? You are going right?", I looked down and replied "I'm not sure if I should".

Pippa smacked my arm, "OW, What was that for?!?" I asked rubbing my arm, you wouldn't think it but Pippa is strong as heck. "Why are you not going?" she asked, "Well, if I see her again and know that I can't be with her, it will make me go crazy," I said not knowing how to feel in that moment.

"Plus I don't have anyone to take with me" I continued, the three sighed at the same time. "What the hell is wrong with you three, it's scary," Chris said, which just made the girls giggle.

"I would come but I have a date with Ant," Jazzy said, "Same, I'm meeting with my parents," Pippa said frowning. "Why are you frowning Pip?" I asked, "I wanna see her" she whined, I just chuckled.

"Alexis is out so I have to be there for Benjamin... But I can bring him if you're willing to help take care of him" Renee offered, "Renee, it's ok, I don't want to cause you guys trouble" I said.

"Trouble? What's troubling is that you've never been in a proper relationship since Jane. (random college gf) You need to take your chance with her, man" Chris said, I sighed tired from rehearsals and this conversation.

"Fine, I'll go with Renee..." the girls and Chris cheered and I couldn't help but smile. "So, what are you gonna wear?" Jazzy asked, I looked at her, shrugged and said "This" while pointing to my worn-out jeans and a faded t-shirt.

Pippa smacked my arm again and said "No! Wear your nice jeans, the clean, dark ones", "OW! ok, I'll wear those" I said. She smacked my arm again "OW! What was that for?!?!? I agreed with you!!" I grumbled, she just gave me an innocent smile in return, stupid Pippa, how can I stay mad at that face.

Then Jasmine announced "Girls we should go to his apartment now and dress him up, otherwise it'll be another White House incident" the other two agreed, and told Chris to tell Tommy that they wouldn't be able to come back for the second half of rehearsals.

We were soon in my apartment with the girls raiding my closet to find something good. Pippa found my nice jeans and laid them out on the bed, Jas picked out a dark button-up and Renee chose a sports jacket to make the outfit more... well me.

They all looked at me, and with those looks I knew they wanted me to try it out. I put it on and walked out, they squealed and then said "She's gonna swoon" altogether.

"Ok, now Lin you are coming with me, I'll pick Benjamin up, go back to my place and then to the reunion" (Benjamin is 2 in this) Renee basically ordered.

~~~~Time skip to the part we waiting for~~~~

Vanessa's pov
Kacey and I are dressed in jeans, blouses, and some cute sneakers. We definitely didn't want to wear heels, we already do on a daily basis. But we did get our hair done.

We were now in the parking lot of the school, walking towards the entrance, I was nervous, not about anything in particular... Except Lin.

I doubt he's single, he's sweet, smart, funny, and apparently rich and famous, tons of women went for the last two, in a way I felt bad for him.

We walked into the gym we once used to climb ropes and throw balls at each other. It was decorated neatly, with soft music playing in the background and a lot of tables and chairs, knowing a lot of these people were now parents.

Kacey and I went straight to the people we recognized as our old group, sadly they all ended up working in fast food joints and being single mothers. In all honesty, I'm not surprised.

I was facing the front door, not because I wanted to know when he walked in... I was just there... Yea...

About 15 minutes into talking with my old friends, I saw a woman walk in, someone I didn't recognize. She was holding a diaper bag, weird, who is this woman?

Soon a man walked in right behind her holding a baby, I looked closer and realized who the man was... It was Lin.

My heart sunk, I thought I might at least have a small chance, but that's all gone now that he's married to that gorgeous woman and even has a child. I feel slightly disgusted with myself. I saw Lin pass his kid to his wife, kiss her cheek and then run to his old friends.

I felt... Sad, disappointed, disgusted... Why did I keep my hopes up, Just for them to be crushed? I sighed and I'm pretty sure Kacey saw it too cause she led me to a free table so I could just sit for a while.

"You ok?" she asked, I nodded "Why did I expect him to be single?" she looked down, searching for an answer but didn't find one. Just as I parted my lips to say something, someone sat down on the chair next to me with their crying child.

When I looked I saw his wife, I observed as she tried to feed her child but the little boy was not working with her tonight, you could see her getting frustrated.

"Come on Benjamin, please, I know you're hungry, just please eat," she said, you could hear her voice break, it sounded like she's been trying for a while. She looked up at me smiled and apologized "I'm so sorry, I'm spoiling your night" I reassured her that she wasn't.

"Nee, need me to take him?" Lin asked, he ran over just a second ago. "Yes please, I need to go to the washroom as well..." she trailed, he kissed her forehead, she handed Benjamin to him, which visibly calmed her down. She said she would come as fast as she could, "Take your time, Nee, I'll take care of him" she smiled at him grateful, and then walked away.

He sat down and held his son on his lap, he already calmed down a bit. "Benji, why are you causing your mommy trouble? You know she's tired" he then lifted his son, and blew a raspberry in his stomach, Benjamin let out a giggle and then reached for his father gurgling a bit.

Lin brought him back onto his lap and then said "There now that you're happy, you can eat" he held the bottle to his mouth and his son fed hungrily on it. I had to admit, he's good with kids.

After that, he looked up and saw both Kacey and I staring at him, "Hi! Vanessa, right? And Kacey?" he greeted and questioned. We both nodded, but how did he know my name? Seems like I already asked him, like the dumbass I am I thought out loud.

"Well, you guys were in the popular group and you two were the smartest, so it isn't hard to remember you both especially." he said, it made me a little happy knowing that he recognized me. "You probably don't know who I am... I'm Lin, I was a theatre kid, I bumped into you once... remember?" I felt bad, that he thought I didn't know or remember him, it made me feel kind of shitty.

"I do remember you, so how is your wife?" for some reason my mouth didn't stop moving, "Wife? Which wife? I swear I'm not married?" he joked, confused.

"Wait I thought this was your son and that woman was your wife," Kacey said, he laughed as we both raised our eyebrows in confusion but I couldn't help the smile that found its place on my face. He's single!

"No, she's my friend and we are in the same production together, she's married and this is her son not mine, she's married to someone else" he informed. We both nodded understanding, "Sorry, we kind of just assumed since you kissed her forehead and you're taking care of her child.." Kacey pointed and apologized.

"Nah, Benji just loves me..." as if on cue, Benjamin cuddled into Lin "... As for the kiss, she's one of my closest friends, and it's a normal thing I do" he said.

We both 'Ohed' and his friend sat back at the table, "This is Renee, Renee this is Vanessa and this is Kacey" he introduced. We smiled but when he introduced me Renee got a look on her face... Almost like she was intrigued.

"Lin, why does Benjamin always listen to you?" Renee asked in a sad yet joking tone. "Well he just loves his uncle, don't you Benji?" Benjamin let out a happy grunt and grabbed Lin's finger and started to chew on it. "Well now he's turning out like his stupid uncle" she teased, pointing at him chewing on Lin's finger.

Kacey laughed and I followed, we ended up talking for the rest of the reunion. If anything I just like Lin more, he had his easy way about him, it was attractive to me.

Kacey decided we should leave, since it was getting late, we said our goodbyes and then walked away.

Third persons pov
Kacey and Vanessa made their way to their car, Vanessa was happy but sad.

"Lin I will slap you if you don't go and tell her how you feel." Renee stated, "But what if she doesn't like me back?" he asked. She sighed "Lin, 'what ifs' only hold you back, now go and confess" he sighed again, scared out of his mind, but she was right he needed to tell her.

He handed Benjamin to Renee and ran after them, he called out to them so they could stop. Kacey took one look at his face and knew she needed to move so they could have a private conversation.

He reached her, panting softly, her back against the school wall and him standing a foot away from her. "Vanessa, I need to tell you something", "yea?" she prompted.

"I-" he took a deep breath and then decided to rip the bandaid off, "I like you, like, like like you... it's ok if you don't feel the same way, I understand".

She smiled, when he said that her heart leaped, this was all she's wanted since High School. Renee was now with Kacey, she made Kacey carry Benjamin so she could film it and play it for her sisters.

"I like you too..." she said her cheeks heating up, he moved a little closer and said," I'm gonna do something I've wanted to do since high school".

"Do wha-" she was cut off with his soft lips on hers, one of his hands was placed on her hip and the other on the wall behind her. As they pulled away, only for oxygen, he did not back away but she moved her head into his shoulder.

She was a blushing mess, they couldn't stop smiling.
How could you blame them? They both finally got what they'd been waiting for...

A/n Oooooo I hope you liked that, I wanted to write a Linessa fic cause I felt like it.

I hope this was good, I don't really have much to say so I will just get to my point. I have a kind of angsty idea, but I need a ship to write it for, so please suggest.
