Chapter 88

Bela had felt the distance between Sameer and Naina on the second day itself. Naina was not ready to talk to Sameer. As she had seen that Naina blamed Sameer for the miscarriage. She talked to her the next day after Aanand leaving for office.

"Beta... tere saath jo bhi hua use ek bura sapna samjha ke bhul ja aur Sameer ke saath phir se ek nayi zindagi shuru kar." Bela consoled her and requested her to forget her sorrow and move ahead in her life.

"Chachi ji... mai nahi bhul paa rahi hun." Naina replied with a crying face. Bela embraced her and when she much better she pulled her away.

"Bhulna to padega na beta... Jo hua usme na to teri galti hai aur na hi Sameer ki...tu kab tak inn sab ke liye Sameer ko dosh degi... beta uske bhi dukh ko samjha, hospital me dekha tha bechara kitna dukhi rahta tha lekin phir bhi tujhe dukh na ho isliye tere samne apna dukh chhipa leta tha...tu ek maa hai tera dukh mai samajh sakti hun, lekin Sameer ke nazariye se bhi soch ke dekh na." Bela tried to make her understand Sameer's pain and his situation.

Naina didn't reply, and remained silent. Bela again explained her experiences of life and gave the life lessons.

"Beta agar samay rahte tune apne rishte nahi sambhale to phir ye duriya bad jayegi...aisa kuch hua to sabse jyada dukh tujhe hoga... Sameer to phir bhi ek aadmi hai... beta in sab me sabse jyada takleef ek aurat ko sahni padti hai... isliye kah rahi hun...dukh tum dono ka bahut bada hai, isliye tum dono ko ek dusre ki takleef, dukh aur dard ko samjhna zaruri hai...aise baat na karne se beta.. rishton me darar aa jati hai.... tujhe apne dukh ke saath saath Sameer ke dard ko bhi samjhna hoga.

Aur ek baat ganth bandh le beta...Zindagi me aise utar chadhav aate rahenge, lekin tujhe inke beech apne aur Sameer ke rishtey ko bachaye rakhana hai..."

After showed the reality of life, Bela left the room caressing her hair. She had advised Naina as a guardian and didn't force her as she wanted at least Naina to understood Sameer's pain and their relationship and she would be take a right decision of her life, which had untracked after the incident. It was her responsibility to make her daughter realise her fault.

After Bela explanation, Naina had started talking to Sameer that he might not get angry with her indifference. But something was still stopping her due to which she did not talk to Sameer openly like before.

Even after convincing, when Bela felt that Naina has not forgiven Sameer, then she requested Preeti to make Naina understand once.

Naina's mobile buzzed in a shrill sound and she picked up seeing the caller id. Her voice resonated in the empty room. "Kaisi hai tu..."

"Mai theek hun Naina... tu bata kaisi hai aur jijaji kaise hai." The other side person asked her and she replied in a low voice. "Mai theek hun aur tere jijaji bhi theek hai...wo aaj hi Mumbai gaye hai."

The call was Preeti, she knew, her sister was deep grief after the unfortunate incident and she easily recognised sadness in her flat voice. She tried to lifted her mood talking about taiji, when she sensed her mood was better than before, she switched her conversation to Sameer and their relationship.

"Naina teri aur jijaji ki baat hoti hai na... mummy bata rahi thi, tu jijaji se baat nahi kar rahi... Naina in sab me unki kya galti hai."

Instead of replying, Naina went on silent mode and held the mobile only for the sake of her sister.

Preeti had known her sister habit better, she voiced her thoughts. "Naina aise chup rahne se kuch nahi hoga...bas baat bigdegi...jo bhi hua use ek bura sapna samjha ke bhul ja...kab tak aise gam ko lekar baithi rahegi, life me aage badhana padega, tujhe bhi aur jijaji ko bhi."

Tears welled up her eyes and she replied bitterly wiping her own tears. "Preeti kahna aasan hai... lekin karna mushkil hai, jo sapna hamne kitne salon se dekha ho aur agar wo ek jhatke me tut jaye to kaisa feel hoga...bata Preeti, tune bhi to ye dard saha hai na... tujhe pata hai kaisa khalipan aa jata hai...ek maa ka dard koi nahi samjha sakta."

"Janti hun Naina tu kis dard se gujar rahi hai... maine bhi vahi dard saha hai..." Preeti understood her situation and showed her sympathy for her loss but her main priority right now was to mend their relationship, which was in a critical state, so she expressed her point of view that her sister could ponder of her husband sorrow.

"lekin Naina tu hi to kahti thi na bachche ke aane ka intezaar tujhse jyada jijaji ko hai, to aaj kyon tu unke dard ko mahsoos nahi kar rahi hai, tujhe kya lagta hai wo apne bachche ko kho kar khush hai.. nahi Naina, jijaji teri khushiyon ke liye kuch bhi kar sakte hai... aur aaj wo apna dukh bhi sirf tere liye chupa rahe hai."

"Sab ko bas mai hi galat nazar aati hun... yahan chachi ji aur tere ko, aur vahan Sameer ko... tujhe pata hai Sameer ne wada kiya tha hamare bachche ko kuch nahi hone denge... phir kyo apna wada nahi nibhaya...unki vajah se hi mera bachcha mujhse jheen gaya...to bas mai unse apni khushiyan hi to mang rahi hun, jise wo pura nahi kar sakte ." Naina spoke with a low and strained voice and she was distressed at the think of hospital days.

"Naina tu bhi janti hai ye possible nahi hai tu kyo bekar ki jid karke tere liye aur jijaji dono ke liye life ko difficult bana rahi hai... tujhe bhi achche se pata wo tujhse kitna pyaar karte hai aur tu bata kya tera pyaar jijaji ke liye kam ho gaya hai." Preeti voice held some resentment for her.

Naina was still contemplating her words, remained her quiet.

"Naina please jijaji ko us galti ki saza mat de jo unhone ki hi nahi hai... please tu jijaji ko maaf karke tum dono ke beech ki duriyo ko mita de...kahi aisa na ho phasale itne badh jaye jise tu baad me chahkar bhi mita na sake... tujhse ek request hai... jijaji ki jagah apne ko rakh kar sochna aur unke dukh ko bhi samjhane ki koshish karna." Preeti requested to her as she didn't see her sister married life spoil just her misunderstanding.

Naina tried to distract her mind after Preeti's call but her mind again and again went on their conversation. She indulged herself to comprehend her sister thought.

After some hours her thought broke by a shrill sound and she answered with a sad voice. "Hello."

"Naina medicine liya." As she received a question from other side. "Tumhari aawaz kyo bhari sound kar rahi hai... Naina tum theek to ho na."

"Haa theek hun...wo bas sone ja rahi thi...aap theek se pahuch gaye... khana kha liya." Naina answered to her husband.

"Mai theek hun, achche se pahuch gaya aur dinner bhi kar liya... aur kuch puchhna hai...meri jaan." Sameer flirtious voice made her unsettled and she replied with quivering sound. "Mujhe neend aa rahi hai."

She cut the call before hearing his reply and she took a deep breaths for calming her heart.

Naina mumbled to herself. "Sameer mai nahi janti galti kiski hai, par mera ye dil uss dard se nahi nikal paa raha hai... mujhe khud nahi pata, kyo aapko dekhkar mai apne aap ko sambhal nahi pati aapko blame karne se...mai janti hun aap mujhse bahut pyar karte hai...par bachche ko khone ka dard un sabse jyada hai Sameer.... shayad hamare pyaar se bhi jyada."

**********

The next day when Naina got up, her mind filled with Preeti's and her chachi's words and tried to convince herself that she was not wrong. Her mind swirled between thoughts the whole day whose was wrong.

That evening two neighbour came to meet Naina as they had heard about her miscarriage and wanted to meet her. Bela welcomed them and offered them to sit.

"Bela bahen Naina bitiya ke sath bahut bura hua... bhagwan kisi ko ye din na dikhaye." One neighbour concerned voice echoed the living room as soon as they occupied the seat.

"Bhagwan jhuth na bulaye Vimla bahen... na jane kiski meri Naina ko nazar lag gayi...Shayad bhagwan ji se meri beti ka sukh dekha nahi gaya...ya phir meri prarthana me kahi kami rah gayi, jo aaj meri bachchi ki khushi jheen gayi." Bela expressed her pain with a heavy voice.

And another neighbour consoled her. "Bela bahan dukhi mat ho... tumhe aise tuta dekhkar Naina ko aur jyada dukh hoga."

"Janti hun Megha ki maa, agar mai kamzor ho gayi to meri bachchi puri tarah bikhar jayegi...isliye tum logo ke samne apna dukh halka kar le rahi hun." Bela replied with a cracking voice.

Just then Naina came in the living room, hearing some voices and greeted them.

"Kaisi ho beta." Megha mother's asked.

"Theek hun aunty...aap kaisi hai aur Megha didi aur jijaji kaise hai." Naina asked and Megha mother's told her daughter's well being. Bela offered her to sit next her and she approached to her chachi ji.

"Beta tere baare me jankar bahut dukh hua... bhagwan par bharosa rakh beta, dekhana ek saal ke andar teri god phir se bhar jayegi." Vimla consoled her with her sensible words.

Naina gave her a faint smile but her eyes reflected pain as her wound refreshed of their words.

As Bela understood her daughter's pain, she try to averted their topic. "Aur batao Vimla bahen kaisi hai aapki beti aur damad...suna hai Bambai me rahta hai."

"Bela bahen wo dono to maze me hai...abhi kuch din pahle hi dono ghumne ke liye wo kya kahte hai...stigerland (Switzerland) gaye the... wo videsh hai Megha ki maa... Rajni bata rahi thi wahan bahut thand thi... lekin bahut achchi jagah hai." Vimla expressed her pleasure with a wide smile.

Megha's mother jealous seeing her happiness and said with a sarcasm. "Par Vimal tera damad to kisi company me kaam karta hai na... phir uske pass itne paise kaise aa gaye, teri beti ko ghumane ke liye."

Vimla pissed off of her interrogation and replied with the same tone. "Mera damad Bambai ke ek badi company me maneger hai aur uske office walon ne use shadi ka gifat diya tha."

Then Vimla glanced at Naina and asked. "Naina... tumhara pati to bahut paise wala hai... tumhe to usne puri duniya ghuma diya hoga... Vaise kahan kahan le gaya hai...stigerland to ghum liya hoga na."

Naina replied with a tight lipped smile. "Aunty...hum Switzerland nahi gaye hai...ye apne business me itne busy rahte hai ki hame kahi videsh ghumne jane ka time hi nahi mila... lekin Sameer mujhe meri favourite jagah leke gaye the.... yahan India me."

Megha's mother fell silent listening their conversation as her damad ran a small shop. She tried to change the topic but Vimla voice again echoed in the room.

"Mujhe to laga tha tumhara pati zarur le gaya hoga... kyonki tumhari shaadi ko bahut saal ho gaya hai aur itne bade khandan ki bahu ho." Vimla said with a hint of sarcasm.

Naina just looked at her with a hurtful look and she remembered the moment when Sameer had expressed his wish before going to London, that he wanted to take her along with him to London. But luckily this could not happen because she was pregnant at that time and today the reason due to which she could not go is no more.

Bela noticed a sadness on her daughter's face and offered them to tea for closing their topic. She got up from the sofa for going to kitchen but Naina stopped her saying. "Chachi ji mai le aati hun."

She went into kitchen as she wanted to avoid their conversation and she didn't have the patience to hold her tears and hear anymore about her miscarriage, which had only increased her pain.

As Naina disappeared Megha's mother again started to talk about Naina and she addressed Bela with a worried look. "Bela... Naina ko hamesha se haste huye hi dekha tha... lekin aaj uska murjhaya chehra dekh ke bahut dukh ho raha hai... bechari phir bhi apna dard chhupa ke has rahi thi."

Bela only nodded her head as she also sad of her daughter's fate.

"Bela bahen Naina ke sasural walon ka ab kaisa vyavahar hai...wo kya hai na, mere bhai ki beti ke sath bhi aisa hi hua tha...uska bhi pahla bachcha tha, shuru me uska pati aur sasural wale bahut khayal rakhate the... lekin jab do saal ke baad bhi wo maa nahi ban payi, tab unka vyavahar uske liye badal gaya.... phir uske pati ne talak deke dusri shadi kar li... aur ab meri bhatiji mere bhai ke ghar me baithi hai... bhagwan na kare Naina ke saath aisa ho... isliye tumhe bata rahi hun." Vimala told, the similar incident had happened with her relative and she also shared the pain she had suffered.

Bela feared at her words but she replied with a half smile. "Vimla bahen Sameer Naina se bahut pyaar karta hai wo Naina ka saath kabhi nahi chodega.... aur uske sasural wale bhi bahut achche hai."

Naina also overheard their conversation while making tea and her heart sank, just thinking if Sameer will also do the same with her. If she doesn't conceive again in the future, will he abandon her? She shuddered at the thought of this, and a fear gripped her heart. Tears welled up in her eyes which she held back for a long time.

***********

Naina was horrified to know about the tragic experience of Vimala's relatives and a fear crept into her heart and she drowned thinking about, how Sameer would react if she didn't succeed in having a child. This thought made her tremble sometimes that Sameer might leave her and marry another woman and this fear pushed her into a deep trauma.

She was always immersed in deep thought and their words had created doubts in Naina's mind about Sameer's love. She wanted to share her fear with someone but she was unable to share her fear to anyone.

Naina's conversation with Sameer was minimal and she just hummed when he asked about her health and well being. There was a battle going on between her heart and mind. Her heart said that Sameer would never leave her but her mind was contrary it that maybe Sameer's love would change with time. She wanted to ask this to Sameer but could not muster the courage to ask. This thing was bothered her mind.

Two days were passing in this struggle. She was trapped between Sameer's love and her neighbour's words. She knew that her Sameer would not go to this extent yet her neighbour's words had completely captivated her mind.

Now Naina's heart fluttered of panic thought about Sameer whether he would really leave her. At the same time, she remembered words of Chachi ji and Preeti and her indifference towards Sameer, she realized that she herself was distancing him from her and, a shiver of fear ran in her heart. After that day, she started behaving a little normal with him, their conversations started getting longer, though she did not talk much but listened to him without any resentment.

This change in Naina was a great relief for Sameer and a little hope bloomed in his heart that, their blissful day will be return in his life again and Naina and his life will be filled with merriment as before. He had decided that he would finish his office work as soon as possible in two-three days and bring Naina home so that he could spend some time with her.

It had been more than 10 days since Naina had been staying at Aanand's house and one evening she was sitting on the swing thinking about her misery. Suddenly her taiji entered the house with her usual demand.

"Bela elaichi wali chai to bana...sar dard se fata ja raha hai."

Her taiji had returned to her parents' home in the morning and her husband had told her everything about Naina's condition, even Sameer's request to bring Naina here.

Instead consoling her daughter, Taiji infuriated seeing Naina on the swing and sat on the sofa glaring her. She called out her name to make tea but Naina didn't hear her voice.

"O Bai...Naina...sun rahi hai maharani...yaa kaan me rui dal ke baithi hai." Taiji again voiced her but she didn't respond.

Taiji was irked and went to near her and shook her shoulder. "Nainaaa."

And Naina jolted from her thought and got up seeing her taiji.

"J...j..ji taij.i." She stammered.

"Kya taiji kahan khoi hui hai... kab se aawaj de rahi hun sun hi nahi rahi hai." Taiji scolded.

"Taiji wo....mai sun nahi payi thi." Naina frightened.

"Sunegi kaise...Tera dhyan to kahi aur tha...kahi apne uss mare huye bachche ke baare me to nahi soch rahi thi..." And hearing her bitter and harsh words, tears formed in her eyes but ignoring her pain taiji continued.

"Mai to pahle hi kahti thi Naina tu manhoos hai aur hamesha rahegi par koi manta nahi tha par ab dekh le... teri manhoosiyat ke karan tune apna bachcha khoya hai aur Sameer ko bhi bahut dukh mil raha hai, jab se teri us bholuram se shaadi hui hai bechara dukh hi paa raha hai... bata tune use kya khushi di hai...ab to use bhi ab lag raha hai ki tu sach me manhoos hai, tabhi to tujhe yahan Aanand babu ke pass chhod gaya hai... wo khud aaya tha Aanand babu se kahne ki tujhe yahan le aaye." Her voice was loud and curt.

Naina became rooted and looked at her taiji in disbelief. Bela came to the hall hearing taiji voice and she also shocked to hear taiji words.

"Aisi kya dekh rahi hai, vishwas nahi hai mujh par....Sameer ke kahne par hi Aanand babu tujhe yahan laye hai... yakin na to Bela se pucha le... bata Bela sach kya hai." Taiji asked with a wicked smile.

"Chachi ji" Naina's eyes turned to Bela with a hope, it would be false.

Bela replied with a hesitation. "Beta wo hamara bhi mann tha...ki tu kuch din hamare saath rahe."

But taiji interrupted her and forced her. "Bata kyo nahi deti Bela ki Sameer aaya tha Naina ko le aao kahne."

"Bhabhi ji..." Bela shouted at taiji.

"Aaya tha ki nahi bol Bela." Taiji pressurized her.

"Bhabhi ji Sameer to bas kuch din ke liye hi kahne aaya ..." But taiji again interrupted her.

"Abhi kuch din ka kaha hai phir kabhi tujhe lene nahi aayega... Achcha ye bata itne din me kabhi tujhse milne aaya..." And Naina looked at her taiji with a glimpse of sadness in her eyes as Sameer didn't come and taiji said further. "Nahi aaya na... aur Sameer kabhi aayega bhi nahi... kyonki use pata chal gaya hai ki tu manhoos hai aur uski zindagi barbad kar degi."

Naina was numbed for a while, and as her innocent heart accepted taiji's words as true, a single drop of grief welled up from the corner of her eye.

"Naina beta ye sach nahi hai sameer aayega tujhe lene...tu sun meri baat, bhabhi ji ne jo kaha wo sab sach nahi hai... Sameer aayega beta..." Bela panic voice echoed in the room and before she could convince her, Naina ran out of the house.

Bela glared at taiji with a furious gaze. "Bhabhi ji... aapne ye theek nahi kiya." And she also ran behind Naina calling out her name. "Naina...sun to beta." but she had nowhere to be seen, when she reached the downstairs.

Bela terrified and she instantly called Aanand then told him everything. Aanand was infuriated but calmed himself and called Sameer to come home quickly then he also left for home.

Sameer panicked and nervous at the call and his mind started having bad thoughts about Naina's health. He drove so fast that he reached home before Anand.

He asked about Naina first as he stepped inside and Bela told everything what happened few minutes before.

Now Sameer was seethed in rage and he glared taiji. He bellowed at her with anger. "Agar Naina ko kuch hua to mai aapko jinda nahi chodunga."

He shot her a warning look then he stormed out of the house, slamming his hand against the door. The room trembled with the force of his rage, along with those present in the room. He hurriedly descended, jumping two or three steps at each step. His eyes blazed with an intensity that he could scorch the earth. His palms clenched in fists and punched his fist on his other palm of his helplessness, his heart was beating unrhymically in fear. As he sat into the car, it zoomed off in just a second.

Rakesh looked Sameer from a distance and called out his name but he didn't listen his voice and left there. He was perplexed but he was sure, something bad had happened that his body language seemed tense. He climbed up the stairs and asked Bela. He also infuriated knowing the reason and he was about to go to taiji house to scold her.

At the same time Aanand arrived and knew from Bela about Sameer's reaction and his anger. "Jiska dar tha vahi hua... bhagwan kare Naina sahi salamat ho." He looked at Rakesh. "Chaliye bhaishahab hame Naina ko dhudhne me aur der nahi karni chahiye....pata nahi kaisi hogi meri bachchi."

"Lekin Aanand... bhabhiji." Rakesh fumed.

"Bhabhiji ko baad me dekh lenge...abhi hamare liye Naina ko dhudhna zaruri hai." Aanand voice held a urgency. They both left and searched her everywhere.

Sameer desperately searched to Naina in every street, every park and wherever she could be but she was nowhere to be found. As the time passed, the tension and uneasiness started builded in his heart. Tiredly, he went to the temple, maybe she would meet there but she was not there either... Suddenly he remembered something and he ran towards the garden where they used to meet... After reaching there and seeing Naina sitting on a bench, he exhaled a sigh of long breath.

He reached to her at instance and called out her name anxiously.

Naina felt someone presence there and lifted her face, which covered with tears stains. She stared him blankly, as she came out of her daze, punched his chest hardly while crying bitterly and she complained with a hiccup. "Sameer ab aap mujhse pyaar nahi karte na... aap bahut bure hai... bahut bure...I hate you ... mujhse koi pyaar nahi karta... aap bhi nahi sab mujhse chutkara chahte hai... Mai manhoos jo hun......" She looked at him with innocent eyes and again whimpered. "Sameer aap bure hai... mujhe janbhujhkar ghar bheja na taki mujhse pichha chhut jaye...Sameer...kyo kiya aisa..."

Sameer didn't say anything and heard her accusation with aching heart. He also in pain and heart twisted to see her condition. His eyes brimmed in tears. Her miserable condition was unbearable for him but he had no other option to see her like this. He wanted to clear her every doubt but he let out the pain that she buried in her heart.

She cried heart out and fainted, sameer immediately pulled her into his embrace then lifted her in his arms and placed her in the back seat of the car.

Reaching his home, took her in the bedroom and ordered Ramdhari to call doctor.

The Doctor examined Naina and Sameer also told last few days incident including with today incident.

"Miscarriage ke itne din baad bhi wo aapse saath pahle jaise normal behave nahi kar rahi hai aur aaj jo unki taiji ne kaha usse mujhe confirm hai ki ye depression me chali gayi hai...but ye inke hosh me aane ke baad hi clear hoga ki wo ab situation ko kaise leti hai.... lekin aapne unke jo bhi symptoms bataye hai wo depression ko hi indicate karte hai." Doctor informed possibility but it made scare him.

"Sameer aise patient kabhi kabhi deep depression me chale jate hai... aur suiside ki koshish karte hai...agar ho sake to apni wife ko akela mat chhodna...koi na koi unke aas paas zarur rahe." The Doctor advised some suggestion of her situation.

Sameer horrified and asked doctor. "Naina ko hosh kab tak aayega."

"Maine unhe injection diya hai.... Morning tak hosh aa jayega...but you careful ... unke samne koi bhi aisi baat na kare jo unhe stress de..." The Doctor advised him.

After some other advice the Doctor left and Sameer sat beside her, caressing her face. "Nainaa.... please jaldi se achchi ho jao... mai apna bachcha kho chuka hun par tumhe nahi kho sakta."

He pulled her up and hugged her sleeping figure. His tears freely rolled down on his cheeks. "Naina... tumhe theek hona hoga mere liye...mera koi nahi hai tumhare siva, janti ho na tum." He weeped hugging her close to his heart.

Suddenly a call disturbed him and he put her head onto the pillow carefully. He picked up the call seeing the caller id and heard a anxious voice from other side. "Sameer beta Naina ka kuch pata chala."

"Chacha ji Naina mil gayi hai aur abhi apne ghar me hai... sorry mai batana bhul gaya tha " He replied with a hiccup.

Aanand sensed his voice was heavy. "Sameer tum ro rahe ho... Naina theek to hai. Hum abhi aa rahe hai." Before Sameer could say he disconnected the phone.

When Aanand and Rakesh reached, Sameer was only looking at Naina still in his office clothes. He seemed lost his senses.

"Sameer Naina kaisi hai....aur kahan mili tumhe." Aanand voice brought him present.

"Huhh...wo ... Naina... mujhe..." As Sameer couldn't form the sentence, Rakesh put his hand on Aanand's shoulder to stop him and asked seeing his condition. "Sameer tumne kuch khaya hai...jao pahle fresh ho jao."

"Haan beta jao...hum neeche hai." Aanand caressed his hair and they both left to the room.

The three of them had searched her agitatedly for more than three hours in every street, locality, even her college and some close relatives. And finally after a lot of searching for her, Sameer found Naina in the temple of the garden.

As they both settled on the sofa, Ramdhari informed them that Sameer had brought an unconscious Naina and the doctor had visited a while ago. "Tab se bhaiya bilkul chup se hai...pata nahi doctor ne kya kaha."

"Rakesh bhaiya Sameer ki halat dekhkar mujhe dar lag raha hai, mujhe lagta hai uske mummy papa ko iske baare me pata hona chahiye ...mai unhe call kar bata deta hun." Aanand frightened seeing Sameer condition.

"Theek hai...aur aaj raat mai yahan ruk jata hun tum Sameer se baat kar ghar chale jana vahan Bela pareshan hogi." Rakesh replied with a concern.

As Aanand came back after disconnecting the call, he saw Sameer was descending the stairs and he approched them.

"Sorry chacha ji...mai tension me batana bhul gaya tha. Aap dono kitne pareshan huye honge." Sameer apologized.

"Beta wo sab chhodo...ye batao doctor ne kya kaha." Aanand asked urgently.

Sameer inhaled a deep breath and informed the doctor suggestion with heavy voice. "Naina depression me chali gayi hai aur koi har waqt uske saath rahe, nahi to suiside bhi kar sakti hai."

Aanand and Rakesh both stunned and sad for their daughter. As they both scared but the time wanted to them be strong for their children.

"Beta... Naina jaldi hi theek ho jayegi.... tumhara pyar use kuch nahi hone dega." Aanand said affectionetly then got up and caressed his hair. " Mai chalata hun...Bela ghar pe akeli hai, Rakesh bhaiya aaj raat yahan rukenge...kuch chahiye hoga to unhe bata dena."

Sameer protested. "Uski zarurat nahi hai... papa ji aap pareshan mat hoiye, kuch lagega to Ramdhari hai."

"Shayad aajkal ke tum bachcho ko lagta hai hame kuch nahi aata... lekin hamne bhi tum bachcho ko aise hi bada nahi kiya hai...aur hum apne bachchon ka saath nahi denge to koun dega." Rakesh replied with a little rude voice.

Sameer smiled and agreed as his presence gave him strength. He ordered to Ramdhari to ready guest room for Rakesh. Aanand left with a satisfied smile as Rakesh showed his love to her daughter and son-in-law.

Rakesh insisted Sameer have dinner with him and after dinner Rakesh went to their bedroom seeing Naina.

"Naina beta... tumhari iss halat ka jimmedar kahi na kahi mai bhi hun...kabhi tumhe apni beti nahi mana, sirf tane diye aur ignore kiya....meri galti to maafi ke layak bhi nahi hai.... aur mai kis muh se tumse maafi magunga...jabki hamesha tumhara tiraskar kiya hai." Rakesh cried seeing her daughter lifeless figure.

Sameer heard his regretting words standing at the door step and approached to him. He kept his hand on his shoulder and Rakesh looked back him. "Sameer maine hamesha se Naina ko bhala bura hi kaha hai, kabhi uske sar par pyar se haath nahi rakha. Jab bhi use meri zarurat hoti thi use dhant deta tha...kabhi use wo pyar nahi diya jo ek beti apne pita se ummeed karti hai...wo zindagi bhar apno se pyar pane ke liye tarasati rahi hai... Aanand ke pariwar ka bhala ho ki unhone Naina me fark nahi kiya."

"Papa ji." Sameer called.

"Nahi Sameer aaj kahne do... jab se tum meri beti ki zindagi me aaye ho... tumne wo kami apne pyaar se puri kar di hai. Tum bahut achche ho beta, tumhara pyaar hi hai Jo Naina aaj apne sapne pure kar payi hai. Tumne uske liye wo sab kiya jo ek pita ko karna chahiye tha.... lekin aaj jab Naina aur tumhara dukh dekhata hun to apne aap se nafrat ho jati hai... log bachcho ke liye tarsate hai aur mai uss bachche ka tiraskar kar raha tha... mujhse bahut badi galti ho gayi hai...mai to pita kahlane layak nahi hun."

Sameer hugged him as he was shattered and weeping. "Papa ji aap aise himmat haar jayenge to hum Naina ko theek kaise karenge.... please papa ji sambhaliye apne aap ko... Naina ke liye."

Rakesh composed himself and said him with a heavy heart. "Tum ho na meri beti ke pass, mujhe ab kisi baat ki fikar nahi hai.... tumhare pyaar use jaldi hi pahle jaisa kar dega...ye mera dil kahta hai...bas tum apni himmat mat harna beta."

"Papa ji ye to aapka pyaar hai...mai puri koshish karunga Naina ko pahle jaisa karne ki..." He went to her and caressing her cheek with love. "Naina tumhe theek hona hoga...mere liye, Papa ji ke liye jo tumse bahut pyaar karte hai...aur un sabhi ke liye jinki tum ladli ho."

Rakesh patted his back. "Sameer bahut raat ho gayi hai, ab tum bhi so jao."

Rakesh left the room wiping his tears. He never imagined one day he would cry for his daughter that he always disowned.

But today he felt a little lighter when he let out the burden that he had been carrying for a long time when he realized that he had done wrong to his daughter and did not give her the love she deserved. He had always discriminated between his son and daughter and had given love to his son and despised his daughter.
