Chapter 70
Sameer was rolling the paper weight on the table sitting on his chair after lunch as if he was thinking deeply. Suddenly he left the ball and rested his head on the chair, his eyes were closed, his facial expression changed time to time as he recalled morning incident when his mother questioned him about their relationship.
Flashback
When he was about to leave after breakfast, his mother had called him from behind. "Sameer tujhse kuch important baat karni hai... thoda time hoga tere paas." Her voice was full of sarcasm.
"Kaisi baat kar rahi hai mummy... Aap ke liye to time hi time hai...aap bataiye kya baat hai." Sameer replied with a faded smile.
"Sameer tere aur Naina ke beech sab theek hai na." Vishakha questioned him directly with a serious face.
"Haa mummy sab theek hai... kyo puch rahi hai." Sameer replied keeping normal face.
"Teri hasi pahle jaise nahi lagti...aaj kal tu kuch tension me bhi rahta hai." Vishakha gaze fixed at him as she wanted to read his expression.
"Mummy jo new contract mila hai uski tension hai isliye aapko aisa lagta hoga... baki mere aur Naina ke beech sab theek hai." Sameer reassured her giving a wide smile that everything is well between them.
"To phir parso tu itni der raat ko ghar kyon aaya tha... Vivek bata rahe the teri koi meeting nahi thi aur na hi tu Naina se milne gaya tha phir kahan tha Sameer... Mai kal hi puchhne wali thi par Naina thi isliye nahi puchha." Vishakha's tone was suspicious that made him scared but he composed himself before answering.
"Mummy wo mai...mere college ke doston se milne gaya tha... unhone bahut dino se plan bana rakha tha to mana nahi kar paya...mai aapko batane wala tha par office ke kaam ke pressure me yaad nahi raha... sorry mummy." He hold his ears from his hands making a puppy face. Sameer lied his mother, it was eating him but no other option left him.
Vishakha downed his hands with affection and patted his cheek saying. "Theek hai... chal jaa late ho raha hai."
Flashback end.
"Mujhe pata hai mummy aap mere baaton se puri tarah convince nahi hui hai, aapki aankho me abhi bhi kuch doubt hai... Aur mujhe aaj mere aur Naina ke beech ki ladai ko chupane ke liye aapse jhuth bolna pada uska bahut dukh hai... lekin mai aapko dukhi nahi kar sakta, mai janta hun aap mujhse bahut pyaar karti hai aur mujhe dard me nahi dekh payegi... isliye jhuth bolna pada, please mujhe maaf kar dijiyega." He became sad and wondered what would happen if his mother came to know about the rift between them.
"Agar mere aur Naina ke beech aise hi chalata raha to mummy ko sab pata chal jayega aur wo dukhi ho jayengi...Mujhe iske baare me Naina se baat karni hogi... vaise bhi kal usne sorry kaha tha matlab use apni galti realize ho gai hai, ab baat ko lamba kheechna sahi nahi hoga." Sameer thought to sort out their problem before everyone would know it.
He got up from the chair and left the office. He drove the car towards the home. He went his room directly but Naina was not there. He strode to Deepika's room as he had not seen Naina in the hall and kitchen. He stopped at the doorstep of Deepika's room and peeped inside hearing Naina's voice.
"Deepika Ahmedabad na Delhi ke according chota town hai isliye wahan ke logon ki soch bhi choti hai. Agar hum se koi galti ho jaaye to Delhi wale wo baat kuch din baad bhul jayenge par Ahmedabad me log salon tak yaad rakhate hai....
Isliye wahan jo bhi karo soch samajh kar karna padta hai... aur hamara ghar jis society hai na wahan to aise baatein rozana hoti rahti hai, wahan ki aunties ka to kaam hai logon ki gossip karna... bahut sambhal ke chalna padta hai, kyonki aapki har ek activity par logon ki nazar hoti hai...Delhi me bhi bahut log honge jinhe dusro ki zindagi me jhankne me bada maza aata hai... aur ek ladki hone naate hum logon ko iss baat ka jyada khayal rakhna padhta hai.... tumhe pata hai bachpan me taiji iss baat par hum teeno bahno ko bahut lecture deti thi...mai aur Pooja didi unki har baat mante the, par Preeti...wo nahi manti thi aur apne mann ka karti thi... baad me iske liye wo taiji se bahat dhaant khati thi." Naina laughed.
"Bhabhi phir to aap ko kabhi dhaant nahi padi hogi...aap hamesha taiji ki baat jo manti thi." Deepika asked innocently.
Naina recalled taiji taunt that she had recieved without any reason. Her smile faded and she looked at Deepika with a dull face.
"Deepika hamari taiji aisi thi na, ki unhe kuch na kuch reason mil hi jata tha hame dhaatne ke liye, isliye dhaant nahi padi kahungi wo jhuth hoga... Par mai hamesha yahi koshish karti thi ki mujhe unke gusse ka samna na karna pade...ya phir log mere baare me baatein na banaye." She had hidden the main fact that her taiji always taunted her without any reason.
Sameer muttered to himself hearing Naina's words. "Enough Naina." He left the place in outrage without listening her whole matter. He slammed the door after enter the room and thumped on the bed. He kept his hands on his forehead in despair and said angrily.
"Had hai Naina... hamare beech itna sab ho gaya uske baad bhi tumhe logon ki baaton ki itni fikar hai, jo na hi tumhare liye aur na hi mere liye important hai... mere pyaar ki aur meri koi value nahi hai tumhari nazaron me... mai hi pagal tha jo sab sulajhane chahata tha... Jab tak tum logon ki baaton ko dil se lagana nahi chhodogi hamare beech kuch theek nahi hoga." He hid his face in his palm with frustration and anguish.
Other side Naina said further. "Par iska matlab ye nahi hum logon ki baaton me aakar hamari zindagi barbad kar le... unki baaton par tab tak hi dhyaan do jab tak wo aapki life ko affect na kare... Kyonki aise logon ke karan hi kai baar hamare sapne tut jaate hai, hum apni manzil se bhatak jaate hai... kai baar hamare apno ka saath chut jata hai unke beech duriyan aa jaati hai... To aise logon ki baatein jab tumhari life ko affect karne lage to inhe ignore kar aage badhna chahiye."
"Thank you bhabhi... Itni achhe se samjhane ke liye... ab mai kabhi Deepali ki baat me aakar Sarika se katti nahi hougi." Deepika hugged her.
Naina was happy to see her happiness and muttered herself. "Tumhe to aasani se samajha diya... kash mai ye baat pahle samajh jati to aaj tumhare bhaiya mujhse yun naraz na hote... Please krishna ji sab theek kar dijiye."
Half an hour later Naina stepped inside in the room. she was surprised and the same time happy to see Sameer in this hour at the home. He was sitting on the bed looking down.
"Aap aa gaye... itni jaldi." She asked in a cheerful voice.
"Aaya tha ye soch kar ki bahar chal kar hamare issue ko sort out kar lenge par tumhe to pravachan dene se fursat nahi hai." He replied sarcastically and raised his eyes to look her.
Naina looked at him perplexed and shivered to see his blazing eyes.
"Suna maine jo tum Deepika ko kah rahi thi...So please...Tum na meri bahan se door hi raho, use tumhare middle class idea dene ki zarurat nahi hai....aur haa jab tak tum iss middle class mentality se bahar nahi aaogi hamare rishtey nahi sudhar sakte." As he was disheartened and had lost his hope, he said this to her and he folded his hands in front of her.
His words were harsh and it's stung her heart like a thorn. She rooted on her place as statue and tears formed in her eyes seeing disbelief and anger for her. She tried to make him understand. "Suniye...Jaisa aap soch rahe hai vaisa nahi hai... mai to bas use samajha rahi thi ki..."
"Ki kaise logon ki baaton me aana chahiye, logon ki baatein hi important hai... logon ki nazaron me gir gayi to phir aapka koi vajood nahi phir chahe aapke apne kitna hi aapko pyaar kare... yahi na.. kyonki apno se jyada bahar wale important hote hai." He retorted her while getting up from the bed, reached to her and taunted her in a pain filled voice.
"Aap mujhe galat...." But he stopped her showing his palm to her.
"Bas Naina... galat galat galat ye sun sun kar thak chuka hun... mujhe na iss galat shabd se nafarat ho gai hai... to dobara ye shabd tumhare jubaan par nahi aana chahiye...do you understand." He was pissed off at her and his eyes blazed in fury. His nostril flared, his arms over his chest and stared her downcast face which had hung down immediately by his piercing words.
She had flinched by his voice and his rough behavior. She had seen his loving nature till now but now she was facing his aggressive behaviour. She winced inwardly at his harsh tone.
When she didn't hear any voice from his side, she raised her face to look him and they exchanged a eyelock with different emotions. He spoke once their eyelock broken.
"Ek baat aur packing kar lena... hum kal shaam ki flight se wapas jaa rahe hai." His voice dropped and choked at the end.
As he dropped a bomb, she was stunned and stared at him like she can't believe him that he spoke just few minutes back was true.
He understood her gaze, he replied again her unsaid questions while streching his every words. "Kal 7 pm ki flight book ho gai hai."
Now hearing his sharp replied she became confirmed. He was not joking and this time he was serious.
He went to the sofa and sat down looking her shocked face and brought out her from his shock asking a question. "Aur kuch doubt hai tumhe."
"Itni jaldi... abhi to Shimla bhi nahi ga..ye...." She uttered, when she looked his face was softend but she shut her mouth at the next moment as his temper became high and anger oozed in his every nerve.
"Kya kaha Naina... Shimla... seriously Naina... par hum dono perfect couple kaha hai, Shimla to perfect couple jate hai." He clenched his teeth and moked her clapping his hands as her words hit his weak nerve. Then he turned away his eyes from her in pain.
A sharp pain arose of his harsh behaviour towards her. Her eyes almost welled up to hear his curt reply to her but she tried to hold back tears making herself strong in front of him and apologized in a low voice. "I am sorry Sameer."
"Tumhare sorry ka kya karu Naina... kya ye mere tute dil ko jod sakta hai, kya ye hamare purane achhe din wapas la sakta hai...nahi na.. tumhi rakho ise apne paas." He rebuked her in a harsh tone and his eyes fluttered close.
He leaned back on the sofa and her tears filled eyes flashing in his mind. In those eyes he had felt anguish and helplessness. It ached his heart but he remained quiet as anger had overcome his mind and blocked his understanding.
"Sameer." Her soft voice forced him to open his eyes. She stood near the sofa with a sad face.
He got up from the sofa and ordered her.
"Yaad se sab pack kar lena kuch chhutna nahi chahiye... baar baar Delhi aana nahi hoga."
"Aap ne sab ko bata diya hum kal jaa rahe hai." She looked at him with a expectation that he would change his decision.
"Dinner ke time bata dunga." He replied ignoring to look at her.
"Chachaji, chachaji, Munna bhaiya, Shalini bhabhi aur Nihal kisi ke liye gift bhi nahi liye hai." She said blinking her eyes as controlling her tears.
"Kal afternoon me jaa kar le lena Deepika ke saath.. Vaise bhi kal uski chutti hai." He gave her a suggestion and picked up his office bag then started heading towards the door but stopped hearing her soft voice again. "Kahan ja rahe hai."
"Kuch kaam yaad aa gaya hai to office ja raha hun, dinner se pahle aa jaunga... abhi mummy ko hamare jaane ke baare me kuch mat batana." He left the room without glancing at her once.
As he came out of room, he wiped a lone tears of his eyes that came out from his eyes to treat her harshly and said to himself. "Mai mummy ki khushi ke liye jana chahata hun vaise bhi unhe thoda to shaq ho hi gaya hai aur kuch din yahan rahe to wo hamara sach jaan jayegi aur unhe bahut dukh hoga jo mai nahi dekh paunga... Isliye aaj sab kuch theek karne hi aaya tha Naina par shayad hamare beech kuch theek nahi hoga...ab humara rishta aur hum pahle jaise nahi ho payenge."
He left with hope for being everything like earlier.
Naina collapsed on floor near sofa and complained to God. "Kyo Krishna ji...sab kuch theek hone ki jagah kyo ulajhata ja raha hai...darare bharne ki jagah kyo badhti ja rahi hai...kyo hamari duriya kam nahi ho rahi hai...kyo Sameer mujhse dur ho rahe hai...kyo???." She cried out on her helplessness.
****************
"Mummy mai aur Naina kal wapas Ahemdabad ja rahe hai... evening ki flight hai." Sameer announced his plan to go back Ahmedabad at the dinner time.
Hearing this shocking news everyone was speechless for a moment except Naina.
Dadi was happy finally her biggest enemy would had to go and she will no longer have to bear Sameer everyday.
"Munna ka call aaya tha ek important meeting hai... wo akele handle nahi kar payega, to mujhe jana hi padega." Sameer replied seeing many questioning eyes towards him.
"Bhabhi ko yahan Delhi me chhod dijiye aur meeting khatam kar wapas aa jaiye." Deepika gave him a suggestion with a hope that he would agree with her.
"Delhi ke office ke almost saare important work khatam ho gaye hai...To wapas aane ka koi reason nahi hai." Sameer crashed Deepika's hope.
Rohan whispered on his ears. "Kaise...Tumhara honeymoon to bacha hai...kaise reason nahi hai."
Sameer rolled his eyes at him and muttered to him with a serious face. "Honeymoon se jyada important work hai mere paas."
Rohan was shocked and was thinking that the person who was excited to go to Shimla till yesterday, today he was finding work important, it seemed very strange to him. But he thought it better to remain quiet for now.
Sameer looked at Naina with corner of his eyes and said to Deepika. "Agar tumhari bhabhi rukna chahati hai to ruk sakti hai... Lekin mujhe to kal jana hi padega... Meeting postpone nahi ho sakti."
His eyes glued Naina to see her reaction and waited of her answer.
Naina glanced him with a hurt face, thinking , how dare to say that you will leave me here. She replied to Deepika while staring him furiously. "Mann to mera rukne ka hai, par kya karu tumhare bhaiya mere bina nahi rah payenge... Sorry Deepika mujhe bhi jana hoga inke saath."
Deepika face dropped as once again her hope had crashed.
"Ye kyo nahi kahti ki mere bina rah nahi sakti." Sameer muttered to himself eating a bite.
"Haa mai nahi rah sakti aapke bina...kya aap rah sakte hai." Naina muttered to herself as reading his facial expression. Sameer turned his face away seeing her questioning eyes.
Vishakha interrupted their cold war after exchanging a look to Vivek.
"Theek hai Sameer tum dono kal chale jana." And turned to Deepika, Vishakha said in a strict voice." Beta office work important hai, to no emotional drama pichhali baar ki tarah... Deepika suna tumne."
"Ok mummy." Deepika replied half heatedly and said. "Ek shart par kal pure din bhaiya mujhe ghumane le jayenge."
Sameer nodded his head and he finished his meal avoiding a gaze of her wife to him. After dinner everyone settled on the living room watching T.V.
He looked at Deepika sad face and offered her to make her happy. "Agar kisi ko icecream khana hai to hum abhi jaa sakte hai."
"Mujhe jana hai." Deepika excited voice boomed and looked at Naina. "Bhabhi aap bhi chalo na."
Naina took a glimpse of his grumpy husband who sat on the sofa watching the news then she replied loudly that he could be hear her voice. "Mujhe packing karni hai, kisi ne order diya hai... tum jao tumhare bhaiya ke saath enjoy karo."
Sameer gaze turned to her inversely to hear sarcasm in her voice and he threw a angry glare to her as their eyes met. He got up from the sofa and grabbed the key.
"Chalo Deepika...hum enjoy kar ke aate hai." And he asked looking at Rohan. "Tum chaloge hamare saath."
At first Rohan wanted to refuse but thinking something he agreed and they left for icecream parler.
When Deepika relished her icecream sitting at the icecream parler, seeing it the best opportunity Rohan took Sameer away and asked him. "Tumhare aur bhabhi ke beech kuch hua hai kya?."
"Kyo." Sameer quirked his brows at him.
"Kal tak to Shimla jane ke liye excited the to phir aaj bhabhi ki khushi se jyada important, office work kaisa ho gaya." He questioned, his eyes focusing completely on him.
"Rohan tumhe to pata hai abhi abhi meri company ko kitna loss hua hai. Isliye abhi meri first priority work hai...vaise bhi ghumne jane ke liye puri life padi hai." Sameer tried to avoid his question and gave him random excuse.
Rohan didn't convince of his excuses but he didn't want to force him telling the truth. So he left him giving a advice.
"Sameer... life is too short to argue and fight, so we should avoid unnecessary quarrel in our life and live happily and peacefully with our beloved." He once again glanced across his serious face and added. "Mai nahi janta ki tumhare aur bhabhi ke beech kya hua hai...but I hope meri soch galat ho jaye aur tum dono ke beech sab theek ho." He walked back to Deepika leaving him stupefied. He tried to fathom of his words.
When Naina was packing her clothes in the room, Deepika approached her holding a chocolate icecream.
"Bhabhi aapke liye aapki favourite icecream." Deepika handed her the icecream.
She held icecream looking at behind of her, where Sameer stood leaning against the door and she kissed Deepika's cheek uttering "Thank you Deepika".
Seeing her doing it, he closed his eyes rembereing his special moment with her. He entered the room and sat on the sofa glancing them.
Naina relished her favourite icecream sharing her some school fun to Deepika sitting on the bed.
Sameer heard her chatting, doing his office work and he glanced once her but averted his eyes as she caught him looking her. He said mentally. "Agar ye icecream mai deta to nahi leti... Isliye Deepika ke hathon dilwaya."
"Mujhe pata hai aapke kahne par hi Deepika ne mujhe icecream diya hai... jab itna pyaar karte hai to kyo nahi sun rahe meri baat." She said to herself and wiped her unshed tears before Deepika see it.
But it's not unnoticed by Sameer and he muttered. "Iss baar tumhare ye aansun mujhe nahi pighla payenge." He engrossed himself to work.
When he finished his work, it was 12 in the night. He glanced over the room and found Naina fell asleep facing her back to him.
***********
The next day after breakfast Deepika reminded Sameer. He had promised to visit her many places. He ordered her to get ready as they would leave for half an hour. Deepika looked at Naina before going to her room as she was still sitting there.
"Bhabhi aap ready hone nahi jaa rahi." Deepika asked Naina.
"Mai nahi jaa rahi hun Deepika... tum jao apne bhaiya ke saath enjoy karo... mai kuch time Mummy ke saath spend kar lungi.". Naina replied giving a smile.
"Mujhe aapke aur bhaiya dono ke saath jana hai... Agar aap nahi chalogi to mai bhi nahi jaungi." Deepika announced her decision sitting on the sofa.
Naina wanted to go with them but she knew Sameer was least interested to take her. She strode to Deepika and tried to persuade her but she was adamant.
"Bilkul apne bhaiya ke jaise jiddi ho." Naina muttered looking her husband.
As Sameer sensed her words he ordered to Naina. "Jao tum bhi ready ho jao hum teeno jayenge... pahle tumhari shopping kar lenge phir... Deepika ki favorite jagah adventure park jayenge."
Deepika squealed in happiness and sprinted to her room. Naina smiled to see her happiness.
*************
Sameer, Naina and Deepika returned with many shopping bags 4 in the evening. They all tired roaming many places and doing masti. Sameer and Naina reached their room after telling their fun to Vishakha.
"Tum kuch der rest kar lo phir ek ghante baad airport ke liye nikalna hai." Sameer offered her to take some rest.
"Aur aap." Naina asked.
"Mai..." He muttered then looked at her. "Mai office jaa raha hun... mai vahi se direct airport aaunga... kuch important document lene hai... aaj Deepika ke saath ghumne jaane ke karan nahi laa paya." He gave the reason to look her sad face.
He approached to her and asked. "Packing puri ho gai." She nodded her head and he said. "Good tum Mummy aur Deepika ke saath airport chali jana mai mummy ko bol dunga."
"Lekin Sameer..." But she stopped to see his stern expression.
"Kya??." He snapped.
"Kuch nahi... aap jaiye." She frightened.
Sameer was irritated of her incomplete sentence. "Ab bolo bhi kya hai."
"Agar aap nahi pahuche to." She asked the possibility with hesitation.
"To tum us flight se chali jana ...mai agle flight se aa jaunga." Sameer replied in a causal way.
"M...mai kaise akele jaungi." She asked scarely.
"To puchha kyo... jab bol raha hun aa jaunga to bharosa nahi hai... ab mai jau nahi to sach me time se airport nahi pahuch paunga." He walked out of the room but turned to her at the door step and warned her again. "Time se aa jana... agar tum nahi aayi to mai akele chala jaunga."
He left the room without hearing her answer. She was shocked at his behaviour and she had shuddered hearing his threat to leave her in Delhi, so she did not close her eyes even for a second thinking if she catch a asleep, he will leave her.
***********
At the airport, Naina had been waiting for Sameer with Vishakha and Deepika for about 15 minutes. There was uneasiness on her face which was clearly visible to everyone.
"Mummy ye abhi tak nahi aaye... kaha tha time se aa jayenge." Naina panicked.
"Beta tension mat lo aa jayega aur agar nahi aaya to ghar vapas chale jayenge... tum iss tarah ghabrana band karo." Vishakha made her relaxed rubbing her back.
But her fear was another and she told it to Vishakha with hesitation. "Mummy unhone kaha hai agar wo late ho jaye to mai isi flight se chali jau aur wo next flight se aa jayenge."
As knowing Naina's fear Vishakha was frustrated with Sameer's strange behaviour today. At once, he did not allow Naina to visit Delhi with Deepika and now he said to travel Ahemdabad alone. He was even worried about my traveling alone when I have travelled many times. So she wondered how he agreed to let her go alone on the flight for the first time.
"Ye Sameer bhi na...mai tumhe akele jaane nahi dungi, agar Sameer nahi aaya to tum ghar wapas jaogi... uski manmani nahi chalegi." Vishakha strictly told her decision.
"Kiski manmani nahi chalegi Mummy." Sameer asked Vishakha, wrapping his arms behind her. He was just reached the airport with Rohan.
"Teri aur kiski...Tune kitna dara diya hai meri bachhi ko." Vishakha repiled glaring him and looked at Naina with motherly love.
"Haa to usne jo mere saath kiya... mujhe daraya uska kya...use bhi to thodi punishment milni hi thi na." He muttered himself looking at her wife who stood just staring him. Then he wishpered on his mother's ear. "Use mai akele jaane de sakta hun... maine to bas mazak kiya tha... dekho uska chehara dekhane layak hai."
Vishakha pulled his one ear. "Shaitan kahi ka... abhi bhi vaise hi shararatei karta hai."
"Ahhh... sorry mummy." Sameer apologized whincing in pain while coming in front of her.
"Sorry mujhe nahi Naina ko bol." Vishakha ordered him sternly leaving his ear.
Sameer approched her and mouthed a sorry to see her sad face. Naina smile came back on her face and she delighted as he was come before the flight boarded.
Rohan came to Naina and gave a offer to her. "Bhabhi aage se Sameer koi bhi shararat kare to aap seedhe mummy ko call kar dena... dekhana do minutes me mummy ise theek kar degi." He smirked looking at Sameer frowned face.
"Bhaiya aapne bhabhi ko pareshan kiya to mai aapse katti ho jaungi." Deepika warned Sameer giving a stern expression.
Sameer muttered. "Sab bhabhi ke chamche hai."
"Suna humne..." The trio said unison glaring him and Naina laughed seeing Sameer sulked face.
He again said to himself looking his wife intently. "Dekho Naina sab tumse kitna pyaar karte hai... kya tumhe ab bhi lagta hai ki bahar walon ko khush karna zaruri hai, unki baatein sunna zaruri hai... Naina meri family me sab tumhare liye mujhse bhi lad jayenge... aisa pyaar karne wala pariwar tumhe nahi milega."
"Janti hun Sameer mujhe itna pyaar karne wala pariwar nahi milega... Par meri ek galti ki itni badi saza mat dijiye... mujhe sabhi ke pyaar ke saath aap ka pyaar bhi chahiye... please mujhe maaf kar dijiye." These words echoed in her mind looking at his face but she couldn't word her thought right now.
And they both shared a intense eyelock to convey their feeling to each other but their moment broke by the sounds of crowd.
Sameer hugged his mother, sister and brother before headed inside the airport.
"Achha mummy chalate hai... Apna dhayan rakhiyega aur Rohan week me ek baar office jaakar production check kar lena please." Sameer requested.
"Achhe se jana...Naina ko tang mat karna aur meri bachchi ka dhayan rakhana." Vishakha odered him with a heavy voice.
Naina hugged Vishakha and Deepika and wiped her tears that welled up from her eyes. They waved their hand till they both disappeard.
Sameer wrapped his arm around her shoulder when they both entered the airport. He headed to the checking counter and looked at his wife whose face was bit annoying.
Sameer replied as she flinched under his embrace. "Tumhe aise pakdane ka haq hai mera...wife ho meri... abhi hamara divorce hua nahi hai jo aise irritating look de rahi ho... mere paas tumhe touch karne ka pura right hai... Understand Mrs. Maheshwari." He caressed her cheek and wiped her tears.
Naina was dilemma whether he was showing his love or his anger. She was confused of his odd behaviour today. As he was behaving out of his nature. And his comment made her feeling that he would not easily forget her mistake easily and his anger not became less.
"Mai tumhari tarah logon se darta nahi hun, mujhe logon ki baatein effect nahi karti tumhari tarah... Ye baat apne iss dimag me baitha lena." He taunted her and he lashed out to her.
Naina was seeing him mute spectator. They both boarded the plane as their flight was announced.
When they both took their seats Sameer was busy reading the magazine regardless of her fear of the flight taking off. Naina once glanced him with a sad face then looked out thinking. "Sameer ye wahi Delhi hai jahan humne hamara pyaar paya tha aur aaj isi Delhi me hum hamara rishtaa kho ke jaa rahe hai... jab Delhi aa rahe the tab kitne khush the aur aaj dono ke dil tute huye wo bhi meri ek galti ki vajah se." A lone tear escaped from her eyes.
She did not know when she fell asleep. When her head dipped aside uncomfortably Sameer adjusted her head on his shoulder that she could sleep comfortably.
He wondered seeing her dull face. "Janta hun mai jo kar raha hun usse dono ko taklif ho rahi hai... par iss baar mera dil bahut tuta hai Naina jo shayad tumhari ek sorry se theek hoga."
He closed his eyes and tears escaped from his own eyes. He rested his cheek on her head.
