Chapter 58

Naina's whole day passed missing Sameer and after dinner she waited for his call. She watched TV to spend time but she wasn't interested in it. After a while she switched off it and strode towards her room. She reluctantly changed her night dress. She was worried that she didn't get a call even after 10 p.m. She sat down on the bed with the cordless.

Sameer had also busy all day and with Munna he had gone to the place where the meeting was held, they both waited for Mr. Patel for half an hour, but neither Mr. Patel came nor his PA.

Sameer frustrated at Munna. "Ye hai uska professional behaviour... yaar tumne kis insaan se contract kar liya hai."

"Sorry yaar... mujhe nahi pata tha ye itna kamina nikalega... aur uski quotation bhi bakiyon se jyada thi." Munna apologized for his mistake to deal with this company.

And at the same time a call from Mr Patel's PA came to Munna and he apologised for not coming there and told that Mr Patel cancelled the meeting at the last minute as he was busy with his family affairs. Then informed about the schedule of the next meeting.

When Sameer had known that Patel had scheduled the meeting the next day in the evening, he was irritated and was anger clearly visible in his voice. "Aaj jab meeting rakhana hi nahi tha to kyo bulaya. Mai wahan Naina ko akela chhod ke aaya hun, bechari kitni dukhi thi aur ise family ke saath time spend karna hai, jaise hamari to koi family hi nahi hai."

He banged his fist on the table in frustration and scowled. " Ye samjhata kya hai apne aapko.. jab uska mann karega meeting schedule kar dega aur jab mann kare cancel, ye hota hai professional behaviour...ek baar ye problem sort out ho jaane de phir dekhana kaise ise court ke chakkar lagwata hun... abhi jitni marji kar le."

Munna had frightened to see his anger and tried to pacify him. "Sameer ye Patel hai hi kamina... bas tu kal ki meeting me shant rahna ho sakta hai wo aisa kuch kahe jisse tujhe gussa aa jaye... tera gussa kahi sab gadbad na kar de yaar... Please... uske baad jo chahe tu kar lena."

After returning to the room, Sameer had called his lawyer friend and Vivek told Mr. Patel unprofessional behavior today. And he heard some genuine ideas from both for this situation.

He was disappointed with everything that had happened in the last few hours and he had gone outside the hotel room to calm himself down and returned to the room late at night. He was deeply saddened to leave Naina alone just a week after their wedding and today Mr Patel's action had completely spoiled his mood.

As he entered the room, his eyes landed on the food that Munna had kept for him. He immediately remembered Naina and dialed his house number from his mobile.

Naina picked up at first ring. "Hello Sameer."

"Smart Mrs. Maheshwari...bina aawaj sune pahchan gai..." He chuckled at her eagerness.

"Hum dono ke dil to ek hi hai... ek dil ne yaad kiya aur dusre ne mahsoos kar liya, par aapne itna late kyo phone kiye... mujhe to laga tha aap sach me phone nahi karne wale the... dopahar ko bola tha na." She said innocently.

"Wo to mai mazak kar raha tha, tumhari awaaj sune bina mujhe neend aa sakti hai?... kya kar rahi thi?... mujhe yaad..." He asked in a husky voice.

She blushed as she heard his deep voice and changed the topic. "Aapne dinner kiya."

He looked at the plate in front of him and broke a piece of chapati, dipped it in the curry, then replied by putting his mouth. "Haa maine kar liya..."

"Jhuth... aapne nahi kiya tha, abhi kar rahe hai." She said cutely.

"Haan...achacha ye batao kon aaya hai chacha ji ya papa ji." He asked while eating.

"Maine kisi ko nahi bulaya... zarurat nahi hai Sameer... apne hi ghar me kaisa dar." She tried to convince him in a bit confidently, but deep down she was scared and had called Aanand twice in the evening but no one picked up the call. She didn't want to bother him, so she lied to him now.

Sameer sensed some uneasiness in her voice and ordered firmly. "Ok...to tum Ramdhari se baat karao us se kuch baat karni hai."

"Wo.. to so gaye hai... aap mujhe bata dijiye." She hesitated.

"Mujhe Ramdhari se hi baat karni hai... mai call pe hun tum neeche jakar jaldi meri usse baat karao." He insisted her as he was dissatisfied with her answer and wanted to make sure that everything was fine.

"W...wo... to...nahi hai." She stammered and
as he was adamant to talk Ramdhari.

"Nahi hai!!... matlab." He shocked. "Apne quarter chala gaya... maine use kaha tha neeche haal me sona... phir kaise?." He exasperated.

"Quarter nahi gaye hai..." She replied in a meek tone as she knew he would get angry at her when he found out the main thing.

"To kahan gaya.." He yelled. "Tumhe ghar me akele chodkar." His temper raised wondering how he could be so irresponsible.

"Sa...Sameer....wo...apne gaon... gaye hai." She was afraid of his anger and told the reason scarely.

"Kya?..." He stunned and heard her scary voice again.

"Unke ghar se phone aaya tha... unki maa ki tabiyat theek nahi hai... Ramdhari bhaiya to nahi jaana chahate the, bol rahe the aapse promise kiya hai mai nahi jaa sakta... par maine hi unhe jaane ko kaha .. sirf meri safety ke liye unhe rokna galat hota Sameer... unka bhi to apna pariwar hai." She explained the situation that urged her to give permission Ramdhari to go home.

"Hummm....par tum akeli ho Naina..." He frowned absorbing the situation.

"Kuch nahi hota Sameer, mai manage kar lungi... sab door lock kar diye hai, bas aaj raat ki hi to baat hai kal kisi ko bula lungi... aap tension mat lijiye." She tried to persuade him to believe her.

But her convincing him triggered his anger more and he was furious at her and growled. "Kya manage kar logi?...tum na bahut jiddi ho Naina... Jahan strong banna chahiye vahan banti nahi ho aur jahan bahaduri nahi dikhani chahiye wahan bahadur banti ho... mujhe aane se pahle hi chacha ji se baat kar leni chahiye thi... tum par vishwas karna hi nahi chahiye tha, bada apne aap ko fighter samajh rahi ho...Naina kuch bhi ho sakta hai tumhe jara sa bhi andaza nahi hai, kitna khatra hai... why you are so careless Naina." His anger reached the top but same time he felt helpless for not give her protection.

"Sameer zara si baat par kyo gussa ho rahe hai... kuch nahi hoga aap bekar me tension le rahe hai." She pleaded with low voice.

But he burst out at her again. "Tumhare liye zara si baat hogi... meri zagah apne ko rakh ke dekho tab samajh aayega... yahan tumhare baare me soch kar dil baitha jaa raha hai... tumhe kuch ho na jaaye ye soch kar jaan nikal rahi hai... aur tum kah rahi ho kyo gussa kar raha hun..." And he hung up the phone in anger.

After disconnected the call Sameer threw his mobile on the bed in frustration and got afraid thinking how she would be alone in the house for the whole night if anything wrong happen with her. He muttered angrily. "Kyo Naina?... kyo karti ho ... kyo har baar aisa kuch karti ho ki jaan hi nikal jaaye....janti ho na tumhari taklif mujhe tumse sau guna jyada dard deti hai..."

He checked the time, it was about five minutes after 10: 30. He dialed to chacha ji thinking he would request him to stay with Naina. But the first call was unanswerable. He called again and heard a rough voice as soon as phone connected. "Hello."

Sameer recognized of the voice and greeted the owner of voice first. "Namaste Papaji... mai Sameer bol raha hun."

Rakesh deep slumber had broken by the first ring of phone but it stopped, when it again rang, he had come to the hall saying this in his usual irritating voice. "Aa raha hun bhai itna baichain kyo ho rahe ho."

As Rakesh picked up the phone, surprised hearing Sameer voice and asked dazely. "Sab theek to hai na Sameer... itni raat ko kaise phone kiya...Naina... wo kaisi hai."

"Sab theek hai papa ji... wo baat ye hai ki mai office ke kaam se Banglore aaya hun aur aaj Ramdhari bhi gaon chala gaya to Naina ghar pe akeli hai maine use kaha tha aapko ya chachi ji ko bula le... par usne, shayad bataya nahi." Sameer told the reason for his calling.

"Naina bhi na...Kuch jyada hi apne ko bahadur samjhati hai...beta Aanand aur Bela subah se rishtedaar ke yahan gaye hai, ghar par koi nahi hai... lekin tum fikar mat karo mai abhi jata hun... kaise puri raat akele rahegi kuch anhoni ho gai to... jara bhi akkal nahi hai iss ladki me." Rakesh irritated at Naina.

"Wahi to papaji par samjhe tab na..." He frustrated and gratified him.."Thank you papaji... ghar pahuchate hi phone kar dijiyega... mai Naina ko bata deta hun aap aa rahe hai."

"Theek hai bata do... aur mai abhi nikal raha hun." Rakesh said.

***********

On the other side Naina was deeply hurt by his angry behaviour, she was disheartened as he had cut the call without listened her side.

She clutched a photo frame placed on the side table and complained in a hurtful voice while caressing him in the photo. "Aap ka gussa jaan le lata hai Sameer, kyo karte hai itna gussa... mujhe bhi ghabrahat ho rahi hai lekin housala badhane ki jagah aap mujh par gussa ho rahe hai... maine chacha ji ko phone kiya tha par kisi ne phone nahi uthaya aur Shalini bhabhi ko itni raat ko kaise pareshan karti unke saath Nihal bhi pareshan ho jata... par aapko to shanti se baat sunni hi nahi hai... bas gussa karna aata hai."

And at the same time balcony door opened with a loud sound, she got scared and went to the door scarely. She looked at the balcony, peering through the door, she found no one there and immediately shut the door. She tried to sleep but Sameer words echoed in her mind... tumhe andaza bhi nahi hai kitne khatre hote hai akele me, koi bhi anhoni ho sakti hai. She wanted to dispel this thought in her mind so she engrossed herself in reading a book.

After sometime the doorbell rang, she was afraid as who would have come so late at night. She came down the stairs and asked reaching at the door. "Kaun hai."

"Naina mai hun tumhara papa." Rakesh answered.

"Papa." She opened the door and hugged him as he entered the house. She parted from him and said. "Papa mai to dar hi gayi thi."

"Pagal hai bilkul...Pahle bata deti to aise thode darti." Rakesh scolded her affectionately.

"Humm... par aap achanak kaise." She asked curiously.

"Sameer ne phone kiya tha, tu to karti nahi... Bechara kitna pareshan hai... jaa use bata de mai aa gaya hun aur teri chinta na kare." Rakesh told and said to call Sameer.

***********

Sameer was pacing around the room frustratedly and hitting his fist from one palm to another. He was impatiently waiting Naina's call. He had tried calling her to tell Rakesh to come but it was not connected. So he had no option except to wait.

Munna entered room after talking to his wife and looked Sameer disturb, he asked him. "Sameer Itna pareshan kyo hai... Naina theek hai na."

And Sameer told everything to him and said dejectedly. "Aaj hi sab hona tha, pahle suddenly yahan aana pada, phir meeting cancel ho gai, Ramdhari gaon chala gaya aur ab Naina akeli hai..." He frowned.

"Shant ho jaa dekhana sab achcha hoga... aur Sameer tune abhi bataya na Naina ke papa aa rahe hai phir kyo tension le raha hai." Munna tried to cool down his anger.

"Par papaji abhi tak nahi pahuche hai, maine unhe kaha tha pahuchate hi call karna... tension kaise nahi hogi yaar... aadhe ghante se upar ho gaye." He worried.

And his mobile rang, he asked without listening other side voice. "Naina...Papa ji aa gaye na."

"Haan aa gaye hai..." Naina uttered.

"Thank God..." He let out a long breath then said. "Naina mai kal hi sab sort out karke wapas aane ki koshish karunga..."

"Sameer aap apna kaam achche se karke hi aaiyega, yahan papa hai na." She tried to stop him.

Rakesh snached the phone from her. "Sameer tumhe jaldi aane ki zarurat nahi hai... tum nishchit apna kaam karo tumhare aane tak mai yahi rahunga...Naina ke saath."

"Thank you papa ji." Sameer thanked him.

"Ye kya baar baar thank you bolate ho...apne bachcho ke liye itna nahi karunga...lo Naina se baat karo." Rakesh handed the phone to Naina.

"Please ab aap kha lijiye..." She pleaded.

He smiled at her concern. "Ok mai tumhe thodi der baad call karta hun."

Munna looked at his bright smile and teased. "Lagta hai hamare majnu ka chain vapas aa gaya... ye khana thanda ho gaya hai mai dusra order kar deta hun tab tak tu jaa fresh ho ja."

Sameer went to the bathroom and now he was feeling so much better. After dinner he called Naina. She picked up the phone but she didn't say a single word, just remained quiet.

"Naina." He uttered slowly. As he felt guilty to shout at her and apologized. "Sorry Naina...I know i reacted too much."

Yet she didn't say anything.

He was deeply hurt by her silence. "Please Naina kuch to bolo... Tumhari ye khamoshi jaan le legi."

"Aap na bahut bure." She complained quckily but he smiled at least she spoke to him. "Koi aise karta hai kya gussa aaye to phone cut kar do... at least meri baat to sun lete maine chacha ji ko phone kiya tha kisi ne phone nahi uthaya... aur aapne itna suna diya..."

Sameer realized he had scolded her too much and tried to pecify her. "Naina tumhe to pata hai na... mujhe jab gussa aata hai to kuch samajh nahi aata... aur phir tumne bhi kaha bataya ki chacha ji ko phone kiya tha bas kah diya tumhe kisi ki zarurat nahi hai... aa gaya gussa... ab kya puri raat wahi baat lekar bathogi chhodo bhi yaar." As he was tried to calm down her but his temper raised a little again.

"Dekha phir se gussa...mujhe na aapse baat hi nahi karni." And she disconnected the call and muttered looking the cordless. "Sirf aapko hi nahi, dusro ko bhi gussa aa sakta hai...Mr. Maheshwari."

Sameer looked at his mobile with chuckling. "Gussa ho mujhse chalega... lekin iss baat ki tasalli hai ki ab tumhare saath papa ji hai." And he opened his purse and kissed Naina photo adoring her. "Good night meri jaan." He wispered keeping it on his heart.

**********

The next morning Sameer called Naina but Rakesh picked up the phone and told Naina was preparing breakfast. Sameer talked to him for sometime then he hung up the phone saying to him. "Papaji Naina free hogi to call karne ko kahiyega."

After a while Rakesh went to the kitchen and said. "Naina mai ek do ghante ke liye ghar jaa raha hun... Aanand aur Bela bhi aa gaye honge."

"Theek hai papa." Naina replied.

Rakesh said remembering Sameer call. "Naina sun abhi thodi der pahle Sameer ka phone aaya tha, usne tujhe phone karne ko kaha hai... Kar lena."

"Ji papa." She replied again and muttered herself. "Ye kya baat hui jab mann lage phone kar lo jab mann kare gussa karo, dhant do... jaise gussa to unhe hi aata hai... dimag to unka hi kharab hota hai."

Sameer waited for her call the whole afternoon and when she did not call him, he was anxious wondering if she was not feeling well. He called her and this time Naina picked up.

Heard her voice, he asked in a agitated voice. "Naina tum theek to ho na... phone kyo nahi kiya... Kahan thi mai kab se tumhare call ka wait raha hun." And he thought. Kaise kahu ki mai kab se tumhari aawaj sunne ke liye taras raha hun.

"Wo mai busy thi... sorry maine aapko intezaar karwaya.... pagal hun na kuch samajhati nahi." She said in a flat voice then asked again. "Kaise call kiya tha... kuch kaam tha."

He sensed her hurtful voice and muttered under his breath. "Lagta hai abhi bhi gussa hai, abhi kuch aur kahunga to kahi jyada naraz na ho jaye, phir Naina ko manane me time lagega wo alag aur uss chakkar me meeting ke liye der na ho jaye...isse achcha raat me shanti se baat karunga..."

"Koi important baat nahi hai Naina bas puchhna tha wahan sab theek hai na... papaji hai na." He became angry with himself that his anger had made her sad.

"Abhi school gaye hai... chinta mat kijiye sham tak aa jayenge." She taunted him indirectly.

"Ok... chalo ab mai rakhata hun." He disappointed.

Naina wondered. "Sameer mujhe to laga tha aapne manane ke liye phone kiya hoga.. pyaar bhari baatein karenge...Par nahi... Kal raat ke liye sorry kaha na hi haal chal puchha... bada kah rahe the mujhe miss karenge... aise gussa karke."

As the phone disconnected he hurt by her rude behaviour but his heart scolded him. "Tu bhi na Sameer gusse me uski baat sune bina dhant diya... to obviously gussa to hogi na. Ek to use iss tarah akela chod kar aa gaya hai aur uska housala badhane ki jagah, us par bhadak gaya... ab uski punishment to milni hi thi... pahle to Naina se hi dur tha par ab uski pyaar bhari aawaj sunne ko bhi tarsega... yahi teri saza hai." He felt helpless as how would persuade her.

But his mind protested his heart. "Maine gussa janbhujhkar thodi na kiya tha... uski chinta thi itne bade ghar me akeli kaise rahegi, koi anhoni ho jati to... use mera gussa dikhata hai par uske pichhe ka care aur pyaar nahi samajh aata... haa manta hun gussa karna galat tha par meri bhi situation samjhe na, ek to last moment par meeting cancel hone ki frustration thi aur us par jab uska akele manage kar lungi kah kar strong banne ki koshish ki, uski iss baat ne mere gussa ko badha diya... aur mai apne aap ko use dhatne se nahi rok paya...ho gai mujhse galti to kya yaar ab use hi lekar baithi rahegi."

In the evening Sameer and Munna went to Mr. Patel's office for a meeting. Mr. Patel put a false allegation to Sameer and his company that his company had provided them with defective and very low quality material, he blindly trusted in his company that it was a reputed firm but they did very cheap work.

Sameer was pissed off by his accusation and his fist clenched. Munna sensed his anger and kept his palm on his hand. He blinked his eyes as Sameer turned to look him.

Sameer replied after overcome his anger. "Dekhiye Mr. Patel hamne pura material check karke dispatch karwaya tha... ab fault kaha hui iska pata to hum zarur lagayenge... lekin iss vajah se aapka jo bhi loss hua hai uska hum settlement karne ke liye ready hai... lekin sayad aap ne contract sign karte wakt ye clause nahi padha tha... agar kabhi company se kisi bhi matter par issue hota hai to sabse pahle aapko company ko written me uski complain karni hogi aur agar company action nahi legi uske baad aap legal notice bhej sakte hai... varna hamari company aapke against contract break karne ke charges laga kar company sieze karwa sakti hai."

Mr. Patel looked at his PA and he nodded his head then Mr. Patel said. "Mr. Maheshwari hame aapke sare clause pata hai...Hum legal notice aapko de sakte hai jab aap ki company hamare inform karne ke baad bhi koi action nahi leti hai yahi likha hai na clause me...for kinds of your information hamne kareeb fifteen days pahle hi letter bhej diya tha material defective ki information dene ke liye ... par aapke taraf se us letter par na to hamse koi discuss karne ke liye call aaya aur na hi action liya gaya... to hamare pass ab yahi last option hai."

Sameer was shocked to know about the letter and looked at Munna, he too seemed in shock. He asked Munna. "Munna koi letter aaya tha inki company se." But Munna refused it saying. "Sameer hamne to inki company ka koi letter receive nahi kiya hai."

Hearing them Mr. Patel PA showed them a recipt and there was a stamp of his company on it. They both were surprised to see it. Now they had nothing to say.

Seeing them quiet Mr. Patel said. "Ab to sab clear ho gaya hai ki humne sab rule ke according hi kiya hai...agar aap ye matter court ke jhajhat ke bina solve karna chahate hai to hum bhi settlement amount ke liye taiyar hai.... lekin amount hum kal batayenge, jo bhi loss hua hai uski calculation karke...so If you don't mind Mr. Maheshwari, I'll keep the meeting tomorrow morning."

Sameer agreed as no choice left to him but to accept it. He asked Munna again about the letter as soon as they both came out of the building. And Munna told him, he was unaware about the letter, then Sameer called Munshiji and asked about the letter. Munshiji was also shocked know the whole matter.

"Sameer beta tum tension mat lo... mai kal hi puri baat pata karwata hun... aakhir wo letter hamare office aaya bhi hai ya nahi...aur aaya to gaya kaha." Munshiji said suspiciously and assured Sameer, he would find out about the letter.

**********

Naina after finished her daily chores at night, waiting Sameer call sat on the bed. She was feeling guilty for talking rudely to him in the afternoon, when she thought on his behalf. She had wanted to call back him but thought that maybe he would be busy in the meeting and if he would get angry with her again.

When she realized that it was too late at night, she thought of calling him, that's when the phone rang. She immediately pickup up and surprised hearing other side person voice, who was complaining to her. "Naina mai tumse naraz hun."

She asked frightenedly. "Kyo Mummy."

This phone call was from Vishakha and Naina started wondering if Sameer had told Vishakha that she was angry with him.

"In fact tum dono se hu." Vishakha complained again.

Naina wondered again if she had get to know about their fight, and therefore she was angry with them. And she tried to explain. "Wo mummy... mai to bas..."

But Vishakha interrupted her and said in a strict voice. "Tum dono ko Ahmedabad me sirf rahne ki permission di hai ... baat chupane ki nahi...Sameer to busy hoga par tum to bata sakti thi....Naina company me inti problem kaise ho gai ki Sameer ko tumhe akele chodkar Bangalore jana pada." She asked worriedly.

Naina was relieved to know why she angry with her. "Wo Mummy hame bhi kahan pata tha, saturday ko hi pata chala...Munna bhaiya apne tarike se handle kar rahe the jab baat nahi bani tab unhone bataya... aur kal aapko batana bhul gai sorry mummy."

"Tum ghar me akeli ho, Ramdhari hai na, tumhara khayal rakhata to hai na." Vishakha concerned.

And Naina told her that Ramdhari had gone to his village. She also told her father to stay with her till Sameer returned.

"Ye to bahut achchi baat hai ki Rakesh bhaisahab tumhare saath hai varna bahut chinta lagi thi tumhari, jab se Vivek ne bataya ki Sameer Bangalore me hai... beta agar tum dono ne pahle bata diya hota to mai aa jati... aage se jab bhi aisa kuch ho to bata dena.. varna agli baar pakka naraz ho jaungi." Vishakha showed a fake anger with concern.

"Zarur batayenge mummy..." Her lips curled into a small and asked. "Deepika kahan hai, busy to nahi hai."

"Ye shaitan mere pass hi hai...lo baat karo." Vishakha gave the receiver to Deepika slapping her head affectionately. "Badmash." And Deepika made a sad face.

"Bhabhi aapne kyo nahi bataya bhaiya nahi hai hum dono bahut masti karti aur unke nahi rahne ka achcha bhayda uthate... lekin aapne chance miss kar diya... next time bhaiya jab bhi meeting ke liye out of town jaaye to mujhe zarur bulana bhabhi." Deepika said cutely.

"Okay... Promise." Naina promised after that they both talked for a long time.

After had dinner Sameer called Naina but it was engaged. He was distressed the first thing he had come to know about the letter that made matter more serious and the second was Naina's phone was engaged, it was making him even more angry. He muttered angrily. "Mujhse baat karne ke liye madam ke paas time nahi hai par dusro se baat karne ke liye time hi time hai... mai hi pagal hun jo uski aawaj sunne ke liye baichain hun aur madam vahan pata nahi kis se gappe lada rahi hai... ye nahi ki ek call kar ke bechare pati ki haal chal puchh le."

He was called again but same result it was engaged as she was talking to his sister. After a while his phone rang, it was Munshiji call. As he answerd the phone, Munshiji informed him about the letter.

"Sameer beta maine pata kiya...ek letter Mr. Patel ki company se aaya tha aur peon ne wo letter mere table par rakh diya tha. Ye baat tab ki hai jab tum aur Munna tumhari shaadi ki taiyariyon me busy the, jisse tumhara office aana bahut kam hota tha... lekin important baat to ye hai wo letter gaya kahan kyonki mujhe to wo mila hi nahi."

"Jab aap ko letter nahi mila to phir gaya kahan..." He also perplexed.

"Yahi to mai bhi soch raha hun Sameer beta...tum hi socho aaj tak kisi ki cabin se ek saman chori nahi hua to sirf ek official letter chori ho jaye... kitni ajeeb baat hai." Munshiji said dazely.

"Munshiji Iss baat ka pata to lagana padega ki aakhir letter gaya kahan... par usse pahle iss matter ko solve karna zaruri hai aur rahi baat Mr. Patel ki to uske saath ye hamari company ka last contract hoga... ek baat aur Munshiji mere vapas nahi aane tak ye baat aap apne tak hi rakhiyega." Sameer wondered how they will find out the reason for missing the letter.

"Theek hai Sameer... vaise kitne paise mange hai.." Munshiji asked.

"Kal batayenge... chaliye mai rakhata hun." As he disconneted the phone, Vivek call arrived.

He told Vivek what had happened in the meeting with Mr. Patel. Also told about the information given by Munshiji some time ago. Vivek offered to him that he would come to Bangalore tomorrow if he needed him. But Sameer refused, saying that if needed, he would call him and ask. When Vivek got an assurance from Sameer that he was fine and will handle everything perfectly.

As soon as he saw the time to call Naina, as it was very late in the night, so he called her only till two rings, thinking that if she would wake up she would pick it up immediately. But he did not get the answer of the phone. This meant Naina was sleeping peacefully on their comfortable bed. He prayed that he could see his beloved wife tomorrow.

**********

Next morning Naina called him and Munna informed her, he was taking a bath. She became sad as she had not heard his voice after she had spoken to Sameer in the afternoon of the previous day. This made her anxious and hoping that he could call anytime, she sat down on the bed with cordless. But even after more than an hour had passed, there was no call.

She reluctantly went to the kitchen, as Rakesh had called her twice for breakfast as he had to go to his school.

Sameer and Munna were sitting on the Mr. Patel cabin and they both were shocked to hear his compensation amount. It was a huge amount.

Sameer objected in a sharp tone. "Mr. Patel jo material apne humse liya tha uski amount itni nahi thi... to phir compensation amount itna jyada kaise hoga."

Mr. Patel calmed down him. "Relax Mr. Maheshwari... aise short temper nahi hote." After a long pause he continued. "Well..Mr. Maheshwari... aapke nana ji ka textiles industries me bahut naam hai... log unka naam sunkar hi aapke saath deal karne ko taiyar rahte hai... ye soche bina ki unhe material kaisa milega... unhe profit hoga bhi ya nahi... unhe to bas aapke saath ek deal karna hota hai taki unki company ki ek pahchaan ban jaaye... to sochiye Mr. Maheshwari agar logo ko ye baat pata chalegi ki Maheshwari industry ne itna bada dhokha diya hai apne client ko, to market me kya reputation hogi aapke company ki.... uss reputation ke aage to ye amount kuch bhi nahi hai." Mr. Patel said with a cunning smile then continued again. "Aap sochane ke liye time le sakte hai... ek ghanta...do ghanta ya phir ek ya do din jitna chahe le sakte hai... lekin jaldi kijiyega... wo kya hai na mera lawyer teen din baad abroad se vapas aa raha hai aur uske aate hi aapke against jo legal document ready karwaya hai use court pahuchne me der nahi lagegi... so think professionally Mr. Sameer Jayprakash Maheshwari." He mocked at him and his voice changed into a fake seriousness."

Sameer eyes were blazing with rage and he lost his temper, his jaw clenched. He got up from the the chair and slammed his fist on the table. He flared up at Mr. Patel. "What nonsense! Mr. Patel... How dare you blackmail us...If we didn't contact you, it was your responsibility at least call us... It is evident from your words, you were already waiting for this opportunity...i am right Mr.Patel." He stressed the last sentence looking him.

Mr. Patel's anger also raised by Sameer's allegation and he too got up from his seat and replied with same rageful voice. "Mr. Maheshwari... First see that you are standing in my office, if I want, I can throw you out of my office now... so please keep your voice low. And you can't put any blame on us... do you understand."

Seeing their heated argument, Munna realized, if he did not stop Sameer, then the matter could get worse and he also got up and kept his hand on Sameer's shoulder, interrupting them. "Mr Patel We will inform you later. And he looked at Sameer. "Sameer chal yahan se." He pulled him out of the cabin.

Sameer once looked at Mr. Patel, then stromed out of the cabin. As they sat on the garden Sameer shouted at him. "Munna tu kyo le aaya mujhe... aaj mai uss Patel ko jaan se maar deta..."

"Aur phir kya hota, tu jail me aur vahan Naina sari umar tere intzaar karti rahti....Sameer ye samay shanti se kaam lene ka hai, aise gussa karne ka nahi." Munna tried to convince him.

"To kya uski har galat baat maan le... dekha nahi kaise blackmail kar raha hai aur kitna ghatiya insaan hai, hamari mazboori ka kaise bhayda utha raha hai...defective material ka jitna compensation banta hai utna ya usse thoda jyada le leta lekin isne to double se bhi jyada ki demand ki hai... agar humne itne paise diye to company loss me chali jaayegi yaar." He was frustrated with the situation which was not in his favour.

"Tu bata aur koi rasta hai iske alawa." Munna questioned him.

"Mai kuch nahi janta mera bas chale to mai us Patel ko jinda nahi chodunga." He seethed in anger and thumped on the chair.

Munna was scared seeing his anger and wondered who could convince him. He said to him. "Sameer tera Mobile de... mujhe baat karni hai."

"Kisse karni hai.." Sameer asked giving him.

Munna avoided his question and walked away from him then called Vivek. As the phone was connected, Vivek asked. "Sameer settlement ho gaya."

"Uncle mai Munna bol raha hun." And he told him everything. Hearing Munna, Vivek became worried. "Maine kal hi kaha tha Sameer ko, mai aa jata hun lekin usne mana kar diya.. iss baare me uski kya ray hai."

"Uncle jab se usne Patel ki blackmailing ko suna hai, gusse me hai aur use jaan se marne ki baat kar raha hai... mujhe samjha nahi aa raha hai, hume kya karna chahiye." Munna asked worriedly.

Vivek was thinking something and ordered him. "Tum Sameer ko phone do."

Munna handed him the phone saying. "Vivek uncle hai baat kar."

"Sameer ye wakt gussa karne ka nahi hai...Tumhara ek bhi galat kadam use sahi sabit kar dega.." Vivek advised him.

"Aap ko pata hai...wo nanaji ke reputation ka galat fayada utha raha hai ...Iss se company ko bahut nuksan hoga." Sameer disappointed.

Vivek sensed his mental condition and advised. "Sameer socho agar usne legal notice bhej diya to sare investors invest karne se mana kar sakte hai, aur uss se company ko jo loss hoga uski bharpai shayad na ho paaye aur phir shayad koi naya contract bhi na mile... lekin Settlement karne se jo loss hoga uski bharpai six months ya phir saal bhar me ho jayega.. meri mano to wo jo amount bol raha hai de do par ek acknowledgement letter zarur le lena... Sameer ab tumhare samne Naina ki zimmedari bhi hai... to kuch bhi karne se pahle ye zarur sochna ki isse tum, tumhari company aur Naina teeno par bahut asar padega... agar kuch samajh naa aa raha ho to apne nanaji ko yaad karna aur sochana agar wo iss situation me hote to kya karte... tumhe shayad jawab mil jayega."

Sameer listened to his advice and his anger subsided a little. He thought, he was right and agreed for settlement.

Sameer and Munna went back to the office, and agreed to the settlement on the condition that he would give them a acknowledgement. In which it is mentioned that he has received the settlement amount and will not take any legal action against the company.

Mr. Patel agreed as he received a huge amount and all process completed within one hours. As the acknowledgement paper ready Sameer gave him the cheque and he clearly informed by his action it was a last contract with him.
