As their banter goes on, Rishi slips aside subtly to the pool which is far away and is covered with bushes around.

He didn't want to come here in the first place but he had to because of her family.

He sits at the poolside dipping his legs into the blue waters when he can't help but think about her.

Time heals everything.

It isn't true because it didn't heal his pain.

After that day, Rishi didn't meet Preetha for a week. Actually, he badly wanted to go away but because of his parents and internship he couldn't but he avoided her until he stabilized himself.

Preetha thought Rishi was angry and that's why he is avoiding her if only she knew what he's going through. She waited for that week and stubbornly met him at his house and explained to him what actually happened.

It's her fault for not sharing with him earlier and the later situations also didn't help her.

Preetha introduced Karan to her friends & apologized to them for keeping them in dark. Though the boys knew, the girls were shocked and mainly worried about Rishi. They were upset & angry with her for his state giving her a tough time convincing them.

But they also knew she's at no fault. Rishi had a chance with her since day 1 and he didn't utilize it. He waited....waited..... waited unaware of what could happen.

And Preetha is a passionate woman besides being an amazing friend. She got their back always. Technically, her marriage is her decision she didn't need to tell or take permission from anyone.

Owning to the above reasons and knowing her passion for her studies and herself, they got convinced but didn't leave Rishi alone. They were always there with him.

With his parents, friends & work, Rishi spent these months trying to believe that she's married. He didn't stop talking to her but that doesn't mean he forgave her.

He also has no idea when will he forgive her? Actually, will he ever be able to forgive or forget her?

The thoughts get interrupted by a person who sits beside him in the same manner,

"Hey!"

He didn't have a conversation with Karan and never thought to have one also.

Karan: Here's your coke.

He hands it to him and Rishi unwantedly takes it and keeps that on the ground. Though he's angry he won't disrespect him because Karan is higher in every aspect.

Karan: I heard that's your favorite.

Though Rishi doesn't respond he continues,

Karan: What next? Are you joining your father?

Rishi: Hmm.

His one-word answers & stiffened posture make his intentions clear. Many a time Karan tried to talk with him but he either avoided or ignored like now but he didn't stop. Sighing, he keeps quiet and stares at the lake in front.

It's evening time and the climate is calm & soothing in contrast to the thoughts of both the men when Karan heard him speak for the first-ever time in these months.

Rishi: You knew that right?

Karan didn't understand what he asked so glances at him,

Karan: What?

Rishi: You knew that I like her!

Preetha told him everything still there's this urge to confront,to ask him.

Karan is surprised at the question but decides to answer it honestly,

Karan(softly): Even you knew that I like her.

Rishi didn't like the retort but he also knew what he said is true.

Rishi: That was the reason you went away from her? You were angry seeing those pictures in the paper.

He's referring to the Milan pictures published in the paper,

Karan: What? No! I was angry at her because she had been in danger and didn't even tell me. I was upset with her that she didn't try to talk to me. That's it. About the pictures, I know that was a part of the competition.

His tone is smooth & comforting which Rishi is not at all expecting,

Rishi: You don't mind if she talks to me?

Karan(smiling): I adore your friendship Rishi. Why would I mind if you people talk?

He didn't believe his words so asks him directly,

Rishi: So you never felt insecure or jealous then?

Karan: Jealous, insecure are much higher than what I felt. I just didn't like whenever you were there for her and I was not. I used to feel he's spending so much time with her but I could not. And hiding our marriage added to the misery(chuckles) Actually she never gave me the chance to feel those. She always made sure I knew how much my presence in her life matters to her.

A smile steals his lips remembering her,

Karan: I understood your heart on our first meet Rishi.

That shocks Rishi, and he snaps his head at Karan who is looking at him softly,

Karan: You know once I asked her what if I don't like Rishi or what if your friend don't like me? Who will you choose then? She said, "That's a highly impossible situation because once you both meet I bet you would become good friends. As you are asking, if you both don't go well with each other, it's fine by me. But I won't choose because I need you both. One as my better half & one as my best friend."

Rishi's heart somewhat lightens at that. He thought she forgot about him and their relation will never be like before. It is good to know she thought about him.

Karan: You are & will be an important person in her life. Yes, she chose me without your consent but she strongly believed that you would always stand by her no matter what she does. Apart from her family, she believes she has you. I am sure if I ever hurt her, she would definitely complain to you saying " Teddy, Karan has hurt me. You fight him."

A small smile steals his lips listening to his best friend's trust in him.

Karan: You will be her teddy and she will be your Mickey until you both want to change that Rishi. I am certain she wouldn't, I hope you too.

Patting his back, Karan leaves from there leaving Rishi to analyze his words.

While he's processing what Karan said, he hears her voice,

Preetha: Teddy yaha kya kar rahe ho?

She came in search of him though her whole family is there. It means she still wants him to be a part of her day, a part of her laughter, a part of her grief, a part of her life.

At that instant, he realized that she is his best friend first & nothing will change that fact until they want. Along with that came the acceptance of her marriage.

That thought is not at all easy for him but his friends & family are there & he could pull it up.

Taking a deep breath, he suddenly embraces her reviving their friendship again.

"They are & will always be Mickey & Teddy"

Behind a bush, Karan smiles looking at them. Whatever he said is true. He's irked at the situations but never hated him.It's normal for a man to feel insecure if his wife has a best friend like Rishi. Maybe he would have felt it too if not for Preetha & also Rishi is far from being indecent.

He sighs when he feels a hand on him & he turns to see Arhaan beside him. They both glance at the best friends who are sharing a moment,

Arhaan: He's ok now?

Of course, he's his waste friend, he knew everything about them,

Karan: Hmm.

Arhaan: He's a lucky man. He got a nice friend like Preetha.

Karan: Yes. Can't say the same for myself.

Arhaan narrows his eyes at him and Karan chuckles escaping his punches.

NIGHT

Celebrating the evening with drinks & delicacies, Karan & Preetha go out for a walk.

Although it's summer, the winds are chilly and the ambiance is calm except for some vehicles & horns.

They are strolling on the pathway & he's saying something but she's not at all listening but busy staring at him.

He's wearing a brown parka looking handsome as ever.Holding his arm, she's rewinding all the praises her father showered on him.

Really she's one lucky girl.

A wide smile steals her lips and at the same moment she stumbles but thankfully Karan catches her.

Karan: Hey you ok?

She hmms setting her legs. It's her fault she's so busy ogling at him that she forgot they are on the road.

Karan: Can't you see the step there?

She nods no and he crosses his hands,

Karan: Why? Why didn't you see? Dhyaan kaha thi thumhara?

She simply points at him,

Karan: Huh?

Preetha: Mera dhyaan thumhara upar thi isiliye meine wo step nai dekha aur mein gir gayi.

He doesn't know whether to scold her or smile. The way she said seemed impeccable and innocent. His displeasure disappeared as soon as it appeared,

Karan: You could have got a hurt sweetheart. You should be careful.

Preetha: But you are there, right? I know you will catch me when I fall.

How could she say those things with such ease? Like it's a fact which doesn't change.

A smile steals his lips & he covers her head with a hoodie that is hanging from her parka.

In the baby pink faux parka and the fur hoodie on her head, she looked cute.

Taking her in his embrace, they resume the walk. She observed he's quite for minutes,

Preetha: Kya soch rahe ho?

Karan: Soch raha hu ki ham kitne dur aaye the.

Preetha: 2 miles from home!

Karan(titters): I am talking about in life.

She doesn't understand,

Karan: "Kaha ham kaha thum"! Pehle ham yaha mile the, dosthi hua,thum India gayi, thumhare peeche mein aaaya.Pyaar hua. Fir hamne shaadi ki chupke se,uske baad hamari jagda hua,beech mein mera kidnap, achanak se mera past saamne aaya,aur finally ham dono fir mil gaya. Jaise shuru huyi aise hi end hua tha.

He glances at her who is still not looking at the road but him,

Karan(lowly): Thank you. I never thought you would come for me. Mereliye thum bahot risk liya tha.

The gratitude in his voice makes her emotional but she composes because she doesn't want to remember that fateful day ever,

Preetha: You better be also itna senti hone ki koi jarurat nai hein. Because if I even had a hint about you, I wouldn't even have thought to step there. Rather I would have sat on my bed & watch a movie.

At once the emotional moment changes as he widens his eyes,

Karan: Ha?

Preetha: Kya ha? Mujhe laga thum nazuk ho, innocent ho aur kuch jaanthe nai ho.Fazul mein thumhara kidnap hogaya aur mein hi thumhe bachana hein. Lekin mujhe kya pata ki iss Amitabh Bachan jaise face ke peeche Amrish Puri hoga?

He laughs at her description of him,

Karan: So you wanted to be that super wife who saved her husband.

Preetha: Sadly yeah! I thought I was the hero of the story lekin end mein thum pura ka pura palat di Mr.Creep

She sighs disappointedly while he chortles,

Karan: Don't worry Dragon. If I am the hero you are the heroine. My heroine!

He gently holds her through waist,

Preetha: Of course I am. Do you think there's anyone else?

Karan: Mmm.....Aadya maybe?

She glares at him & slaps his chest while he chuckles pulling her closer while strolling,

Preetha: Impossible! Good that she was not in the ship that day otherwise I would have myself pushed her into the sea!

He sees her amused,

Preetha: Waise uss Annabelle ke baare mein kuch pata chala?

Karan(laughing): Why do you call her that? Anyways no information about her.

That night, Karan made a phone call to the NIA and reported about Rakesh Singhal. Stealthily, they took him in their control, made Amar as witness and wanted Karan to join back but he smoothly refused and promised to help them whenever he's needed.

Mahesh got arrested Arun Sharma in other cases because only a little information is leaked to the media. It is alleged that Sharma's family shifted to states & that's all.

Preetha: Why are we even talking about her? Forget that. I don't wanna spoil our night.

Coming back from his thoughts, he sees that they almost reached the place.

Karan: The night is still young sweetheart!

She frowns & glances around. It has been 20 minutes since they started walking and now they are in the city.

Everything seemed usual & dark. Nothing special. She doesn't understand what he's implying when she heard him whistle twice.

Just like that, the dark surroundings brighten up with lights and the most bewitching view comes into the scene.......THE LONDON EYE!

Also called the Millenium Wheel, is Europe's largest observation wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames.

Preetha is speechless looking at the magnificent structure. 

Though she visited Europe a few times, she never got the opportunity to have a ride in it so it's on her wish list. And looking at it this close that too in the dark is....just stunning!

Karan: Let's go!

She then comes to her senses and sees that the total backdrop is lightened. A few seconds ago, it's all shady and murky & now it's illuminating. How is this possible?

Did he do it?

And what is he even asking?

Preetha: There is no one around and it's closed.

Karan: Closed for others not for us. C'mon!

Enclosing her palm with his, he jogs to the counter. The guy takes them to their box and starts the wheel.

It's a 30 mins ride and gives you 360° view of the whole London.

Preetha can't believe that she's in the LONDON EYE and it's rotating. Oh, God! And they are alone with no one.

That's enough for her to shout looking at the great city lying along the great river.

More than the view, Karan enjoys her excitement. He knew she would feel surprised but didn't expect her to be elated.

Maybe the day itself is happy for her. At last, she got the fruits of her hardwork.

After shrieking to no end, she enthusiastically sticks to the glass and looks around identifying the places.

Preetha: Karan woh dekho that's the Big Ben and woh.... London bridge aur woh...woh... Buckingham palace. Woooow.....

And it continues with her gushing over every place when all of a sudden the wheel stops rotating leaving them at the top.

She turns to him complaining,

Preetha: Band kyun ho...

Her words stop as she sees him standing behind with a cake in his hands,

Karan: Happy Anniversary Mrs. Luthra!

For a minute, she didn't get what he said.

Once she understood, a wide smile steals her lips as she runs to him hugging him with everything she got. He chuckles balancing the cake, her, and himself.

That's one kind of a surprise she would never forget.

 She tightens the hug expressing her extreme shock & happiness.

Karan: As much as I love being in your arms, the cake is melting sweetheart.

Smiling, she comes out of the hug & he places the cake on a plank beside and holds her hand,

Preetha: Before that....

She takes an envelope from her jacket and gives it to him.

On the cover it's written, "Your dream is calling"

With a little frown, he opens only to get shocked reading the content.

It is the appointment letter from Oxford which he gave up for her.

Preetha: I thought I would surprise you with this but you outran me.

Karan: H....how?

Preetha: I contacted our Professor here, he helped me get it.

He can't believe she did that. It's no less than an ardent task to get a reappointment from Oxford. She must have tried really hard.

His heart burst in happiness as he pulls her through waist & kisses her and she responds wrapping her hands around his neck.

They slightly move and she looks at his eyes which is an inch away for her,

Preetha(whispers): Happy Anniversary Mr.Luthra.Let's fulfill our dreams together.

And he kisses her again longer than the first.

They come out of the kiss, cut the cake together, and feed each other.

Karan: A dance with me M'Lady!

He asks with a bow and she happily agrees.

Playing a song on his phone, he takes her into his arms.

The night enhanced the beauty of everything around them.

She then opens her eyes and moves just a bit,

On the top of the sky, in the dark night, with the stars around, when the world is sleeping, they loudly express through a soulful kiss.
